Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Adds First Gay Male Couple
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta stars come and go. Sometimes, they get arrested.
But now the series is promising two brand new additions who are bringing a lot to the table in the new season.
These two men will be the show’s first male gay couple.
Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta is adding some fresh faces to the cast.
More importantly, the hit reality series is adding some overdue represenation in the form of a male gay couple.
Prince Carter and Zachary Jones have confirmed through their reps that they are joining the cast of the show.
Carter is a serious socialite in Atlanta and already involved with the show.
Jones is a fashion model with quite the Instagram following (for reasons that his photos make obvious).
Together, they’re going to take this show by storm.
Speaking to The Blast, the couple talks about how important it is for them to be part of the show.
“As an African American gay male couple it’s tough as hell in today’s society,” they point out.
Both black men and gay men face challenges — being both doesn’t make things easier.
“And,” the couple continues. “There are sooooooooooo many stigmas we’re up against.”
“We are two big personalities,” they say. “Who just happens to love each other dearly.”
The couple’s statement about their aspirations continues.
“With this platform,” they tell The Blast. “We want to show that love has no face or color.”
“But love is all about treating others with respect,” they affirm.
That is definitely true.
They note that love is also about “allowing people to just live their best lives.”
Also true!
Carter and Jones are excited about bringing male gay representation to the show.
They’re looking forward to presenting a “Gay relationship in more of a positive light.”
Reality television has an unfortunate habit of showing some already marginalzied groups in a negative light.
Seeing two young, handsome black men who are in love and living their best lives could do wonders for viewers and for cultural perceptions.
Representation matters for a number of reasons, and can have a real impact on how comfortable viewers are with coming forward to live their authentic lives.
Plus, it’s great to see LGBTQ+ black men shown succeeding on television.
As we mentioned, Prince Carter is a socialite and has already interviewed a number of the show’s stars.
Those stars include Mimi Faust, Karlie Redd, Momma Dee, Bambi, and Erica Dixon.
So he is already part of the community and will now get to be part of it on camera, too.
Jones’ modeling has earned him a massive social media following.
As we mentioned, one only has to look at his Instagram thirst traps to understand why.
Wait, what was I saying? I lost my train of thought somehow.
We should note that while Carter and Jones are this show’s first male couple, they’re not the first gay representation in the franchise — or even the first male rep.
Miles Brock and Milan Christopher were featured on Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood back in 2015.
It’s glad to see that the franchise’s Atlanta counterpart is catching up!

Artist Adds Pissing Pug Statue Next to "Fearless Girl," Draws Internet Ire
The Fearless Girl statue is once again in the news.
Because some easily-irritated guy has had a very immature response to it.
No, this idiot didn’t hump the Fearless Girl, like some giant douchebags have done in the past.
But he did take even more thought-out steps to humiliate her.
First, some background:
The “Fearless Girl” was placed opposite the sculpture of a bull (created by Arturo Di Modica and meant as a power symbol for the financial sector of Wall Street) in downtown New York City in March on International Women’s Day on a temporary permit.
It was meant to represent women’s rights and equality and how females ought to play a vital role in the American economy.
Under pressure from women’s groups, Mayor Bill De Blasio extended the permit for an additional 11 months.
And neither of these acts sat well with artist Alex Gardega, who has chosen to retaliate with a work of his own.
In the form of a urinating dog. Right at the food of the Fearless Girl.
Seriously: Gardega created a statue of a small dog, titled “Pissing Pug,” and this lewd pooch is aiming his pee stream directly at “Fearless Girl.”
At her left leg, to be exact.
What inspired such an angry act?
“This is corporate nonsense,” Gardega told The New York Post of “Fearless Girl,” explaining that it was placed across from the bull statue as a publicity stunt by a Boston-based financial firm and adding:
“It has nothing to do with feminism, and it is disrespect to the artist that made the bull. That bull had integrity.”
A resident of the Upper West Side, the sculptor didn’t beat around any bushes.
He came right out and expounded on how he views “Fearless Girl,” telling the newspaper:
“I decided to build this dog and make it crappy to downgrade the statue, exactly how the girl is a downgrade on the bull.”
Gardega has never met Di Modica. He’s acting on his own controversial accord here.
(It’s worth noting, however, that Di Modica is suing the aforementioned financial firm that sponsored “Fearless Girl,” arguing that it unfairly implicates his creation and changes the interpretation of his art.)
Di Modica has not yet commented on the pissing pug.
But many users on Twitter certainly have:
“I have a lot of empathy for the creator of the bull, Arturo,” Gardega told NBC.
“I’m a pretty happy person, not seething or angry and certainly not anti-feminist. My piece is not without a sense of humor. There is plenty of room for ‘Fearless Girl.’
“It just interferes with another artist’s work/vision.”
Gardega has removed the dog statue (he never had any legal right to bolt it to the ground) and further explained his actions as follows:
“I took it away personally. I didn’t want to leave it to be taken and certainly had no rights to bolt it to the ground. Most people were amused or perplexed by it.”

Taylor Swift Adds GOAT to #Squad: See the Pics!
Attention, all of those throwing a Taylor Swift is Over and It’s Totally Awesome Party:

Because Taylor Swift sent a subtle, yet very clear, message on Thursday night:
She is so NOT over.
On Thursday evening, the controversial singer spent a few hours with her famous squad in New York City, attending a concert by Eliot Sumner, Sting’s daughter.
The event took place in the Bowery Ballroom and those in attendance with Swift included Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Zoë Kravitz, Dakota Fanning.
You know, the usual suspect.
The normal members of Taylor’s Squad.
But … wait. She doesn’t done.
Cameras also caught Swift and company hanging out with the greatest female athlete in the history of the world.
Heck, one of the greatest athletes in the history of the world period. Full stop.
Oh, yes, people, that’s Serena Williams out and about with Taylor Swift.
Game. Set. Match, right?
Swift has remained relatively quiet for several months now.
She was exposed over the summer as somewhat of a liar by Kim Kardashian, after the reality star dropped a Snapchat video that depicted a phone conversation between Kanye West and Swift.
The conversation proved that West had run certain lyrics from his song “Famous” by Swift before releasing it to the public, despite Taylor’s previous claim of the opposite.
Then, earlier this month, Demi Lovato called out Swift for having only skinny friends.
“I don’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body,” Lovato told Glamour, adding:
“It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real.”
It was an odd criticism, and it was shot down in epic fashion by Swift on Thursday when she included Serena with her group of friends.
Williams is beloved for a number of reasons, but one of those reasons is how she’s served as a role model for muscular, curvy women.
Martha Hunt, meanwhile, shared a picture of the Squad backstage at the aforementioned concert, including with it the caption “Sober.”
And while Serena isn’t among the famous people posing above, Internet users still fell in love with this image.
Based on the following comments, it seems as if Swift is as popular as ever:

Will Swift release a new album before 2016 is over?
She’s come out with a studio record in the fall of every other year since 2008. She’s due for one now.
And she should have plenty material, following breakups this year with both Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston.
It does seem like Swift is inching her way back into the mainstream conversation little by little, perhaps preparing us for yet another Taylor Swift Takeover.

Taylor Swift Adds Kangaroo, Blake Lively to Her Squad
As previously reported, Taylor Swift is not hating on Adele.
She’s simply on vacation in Australia, hence why the singer has been quieter than usual on social media of late.
But Swift simply had to jump on social media twice over the weekend after meeting a couple of potential new Squad members, the first being a native to the Land Down Under.
That’s right: Taylor Swift spent some time with a kangaroo!
“Me: Please love me. Kangaroo: No.” Swift joked as a caption to one photo, which features the artist trying to feed one of the animals.
For the one above, she wrote:
“I didn’t know ‘kangaroo selfies’ were a thing. But they are and this is one.”
That does pretty much sum it up, huh?
When not chilling with one of the cooler creatures in the world, Swift was hanging out with one of the better looking people in the world.
That’s right? Taylor Swift spent some time with Blake Lively!
Via the following photo, Grammy winner revealed to Instagram followers that she and Lively met up at the Warner Bros. Movie World theme park.
“Yesterday was such an amazing day off – roller coasters, kangaroos and LOLs with @blakelively,” Swift wrote as a caption.
Fans then say they spotted Lively (wearing a white baseball cap) at Swift’s concert later that evening.
The actress made her positive feelings for Swift very well known a few months ago, after folks thought Blake was hating due to some mockery of the Bad Blood music video.
“Umm whoever thought I was throwin shade clearly doesn’t know I have a ‘Taylor Swift Please Be My Wife Voo Doo Doll’ #obsessed,” wrote Lively, adding:
“Love my Canadian family almost as much as I love Taylor Lively. I mean Swift. Ok, FIIINE we can hyphenate our last names. Xo Blake Swift-Lively 4eva.”
