Jill Duggar Speaks Out After Derick Dillard"s Homophobic Rant

After Derick Dillard’s latest controversy, fans are encouraging former Counting On star Jill Duggar to dump Derick.

It looks like she’s still standing by her man. This time, she’s backing up his homophobic Twitter rant. At least, that’s what it looks like she’s saying.

Take a look at her cryptic post below and decide for yourself.

Taking to Instagram, Jill wrote — without any context:

“To disagree doesn’t = hate, or judgement.”

That is true enough … on certain subjects.

“Love doesn’t always = approval.”

That is absolutely true. You can love and support someone without personally liking, say, their new haircut.

“Just because I disagree with my child on something doesn’t mean I hate him.”

We should certainly hope not.

“And just because I love and forgive him doesn’t mean I approve of everything he does.”

That makes sense, too. Up to a point.

“You can be friends with, love, and care for people you don’t agree with 100%.”

It’s not difficult to see that Jill is indirectly referring to Derick Dillard’s homophobic tweets, in which he attacked husbands Nate Burkus and Jeremiah Brent and their show, Nate & Jeremiah by Design.

It’s a home improvement show but, as with other series like Fixer Upper, it includes a personal touch about the designers’ lives.

Nate and Jeremiah are parents to two young children, which is apparently what had Derick so incensed that he had to tweet out his disdain for their show

“What a travesty of family,” he wrote in the widely condemned tweet.

He continued, saying:

“It’s sad how blatant the liberal agenda is, such that it both highlights and celebrates a lifestyle so degrading to children on public television as if it should be normal.”

First of all, that tweet is of course appalling.

Though it is no surprise coming from Derick Dillard, who was fired from Counting On last year over his transphobic tweets about trans teen Jazz Jennings.

(Pro-tip: networks prefer for you to support their other shows, not condemn them, and when you’re a grown man repeatedly tweeting vile things about a teenage girl, you’re not going to come across as the good guy)

Second of all … it’s always funny (well, as funny as bigotry can get) when people refer to something like “the gay lifestyle.”

We know that they phrase it that way to make it seem like a peculiar choice than part of who someone is.

But, clearly, Nate and Jeremiah’s lifestyle is that they’re parents and designers and, now, reality stars. Those are all lifestyles.

Well, following the backlash that Derick incited with his homophobic rant, Derick continued.

He tried to defend himself without walking back his tweets, insisting that he has gay friends but he simply “doesn’t agree” … with their existence, we suppose.

(It’s powerfully reminiscent of the how can I be racist if I have black friends? argument that people still try to make sometimes)

Derick even suggested that The View was bullying him for being a Christian, even though a number of the hosts are Christians themselves and they mostly addressed gay parents whom they know and admire.

It seems clear that Jill Duggar is, once again, standing by her man.

Her post seems designed to defend herself from fans who share Derick’s homophobia — by stating that she does not endorse their “lifestyle” — and against Derick’s detractors, by saying that at least she and Derick don’t hate gay people.

Jill has shared some cringeworthy posts of her own in the past, including a transphobic prayer that disappointed many fans.

Fans didn’t have a difficult time connecting her new post to Derick’s most recent controversy, and some of the comments were excellent.

“Not a problem to disagree. The problem is to post on a public place that gives you access to many people, and you disparage other people! I do Not Believe the God I worship would want me to publicly disparage people.”

“Instead of encouraging someone you have now turned them away from you and probably have them not too interested in Your God. Yes you do have a right to your opinion, but remember for every action there is a reaction.”

“The reaction to your judgement is people don’t want to be around you any longer.”

“I’ll pray for God to soften your heart! They are a loving family trying to provide a loving home like any other family.”

Jill Duggar Shows Off "Sexy" New Look For Derick Dillard"s Birthday!

Last week, Derick Dillard celebrated his 29th birthday.

It’s been a rough year for Jill Duggar’s husband, who was recently fired by TLC, thus leaving his family without its sole source of income.

(Jill departed the show alongside her husband, which means for the first time in their marriage, there are no reality TV checks pouring in.)

But if there’s an upside to their situation, it’s that the Dillards have a bit more freedom these days now that they’re no longer appearing on Counting On.

For the most part, that freedom has been squandered on Derick’s social media tirades, but it seems Jill is now enjoying her time away from the spotlight in a much less destructive way.

On Friday, she marked the occasion of Derick’s birhday by posting a photo that might seem wholly unremarkable at first glance:

“Happy birthday sweetie,” Jill captioned the pic.

“I am so grateful to God for you! I pray that in this next year (last one in your 20’s!) you will draw closer to God every day! Thank you for leading our family and caring for each of us so well! You’re the best! I love you!!”

If you’re a longtime fan of the Duggar clan, then we probably don’t have to tell you what detail fans zeroed in on here.

Yes, Jill’s skirt is considerably shorter than the ones she and her sisters wore while they were growing up under Jim Bob’s roof.

Many of her followers were stunned by Jill’s “sexy” appearance, and they effusively praised the mother of two for showing a hint of knee.

“These Duggars are getting rebellious,” wrote one fan.

“Mini skirt! Looks nice,” commented another.

“Love those heels Jill,” remarked a third.

Yes, for the second time in a month, Jill’s shoes were also a subject of discussion.

Generally, the Duggar rules for “modest attire” require women to wear conservative flats, but like her other married sisters, Jill has pretty much thrown the rule book in the trash at this point.

Of course, as always, some of the praise for Jill’s very mild act of defiance had a bit of a sarcastic tone:

“Dress is above the kneeeeeee ALERT THE PRESS,” wrote one follower, while another quipped, “Whoo knees.”

Yes, it may not seem like much for those of us who didn’t grow up under the stern and watchful eye of Jim Bob.

But for Jill, this is as rebellious as it gets.

Derick Dillard"s Homophobia Reaches New Heights

Remember when Derick Dillard was fired by TLC for making bogoted coments on Twitter?

Well, apparently he doesn’t!

Or at the very least he remains totally unconcerned with the effect his views might have on his career and public reputation.

Earlier this week, Derick took to social media to promote a spesking engagement by Ricky Chelette a controversial preacher who’s a big proponent of the appalling practice of attempting to turn gay teens straight through “conversrion therapy.”

“Tomorrow night we will have an opportunity to hear from Rickey Chelette on same-sex attraction,” Derick wrote.

“7:30 pm in the Arvest Building!”

Fans were quick to remind Derick of what a widely-reviled figure Chelette is.

Someone quickly commented, “Isn’t this the ‘pray away the gay’ guy???”

Derick typically isn’y one to shy away from conflict, but he’s been doing his best go dodge questions about Chelette’s more revolting beliers:

“Our church invites ALL to come. I’m open to all who would join our family,” he replied to one fan.

Yes, the Duggars invite “ALL to come.”

So stay tuned for next week’s keynote address from Rupaul.

Here’s the thing:

It’s easy for Derick to be glib about his beliefs now, when he still has a bank account full of reality star money.

But soon enough, the Dillards will be 100% reliant on donations from fans in order to keep food on the table.

They already lost a lot of fans thanks to Derick’s transphobic views, and now he’s doubling down and alienating what few faithful followers he has left.

The Duggars have always espoused abhorrent views, but they’re usually more social media savvy than this.

If he keeps this up, he may soon suffer a fate worse than being exiled like the Duggars elsest son, Josh.

That’s right: Derick will soon be forced to get … a real job!!!

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar Visit the Dillards in El Salvador: Is Jill at Risk??

Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard embarked on a mission to El Salvador to do the Lord’s work, but their expedition has been marred with controversy almost since they left.

In the past few weeks, speculation arose that the Dillards cut their mission short and returned to Arkansas to avoid catching the Zika virus, which is currently rampant in the Central American country.

However, a new photo posted to Facebook confirms that the couple and their son Israel are definitely still in El Salvador, and even welcomed two guests: Jill’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

“Jill’s parents surprised us recently with an impromptu visit for a few days,” Derick wrote on his blog. “It was great to have them with us and get to show them the work the Lord is doing here.”

He assured fans that 10-month-old Israel is doing well, loving the fruits and veggies there and was happy to see his grandparents.

“Israel definitely enjoyed all the attention when Grandma and Grandpa Duggar came to visit,” wrote Derick.

Fans have been concerned about the Dillards’ stay in El Salvador as Zika has been known to cause severe birth defects in pregnant women, and given the family’s stance on shunning birth control, Jill could be at risk.

Could Jill be making an exception and using birth control? If she did in this case, we can’t imagine anyone would fault her for it.
