Man Donates Kidney to Stranger, Shares Letter from Recipient
In January of 2017, a Reddit user from Oklahoma with the user name "TheBartian" donated one of his kidneys to a complete stranger.
Three months later, this hero received a letter from the individual whose life was saved by this selfless gesture.
In response to that moving response, TheBartian has shared the man"s letter online, along with his motivation for donation, in the hope that it will spur others to make this same incredible decision.

1. This is the Letter He Received
This is what it says: “Hello, my name is [redacted]. I am 63 years old and I have a son named S. When S. was 6 years old his mother passed away after battling cancer for 5 years. This has put me and my son very close. After many years I remarried a lady named [redacted]. We live on a small farm in a town called [redacted]…”
2. Continues the Letter:
“I now have 3 grandsons named [redacted], [redacted],and [redacted]. My son and my 3 grand sons are my life, I do not do anything without one of the 4. Because of the gift you gave me on Jan 5th 2017 I think I will get to see more basketball games, more baseball games, and more football games…”
3. It Concludes:

Lamar Odom Will NOT Need Kidney Transplant, Continues to Show Progress
More good news for Lamar Odom and family!
It seems that despite previous reports that Odom would need a kidney transplant, the 35-year-old’s organs are healing at a surprising rate, and he may be released from the hospital in a matter of days.
Earlier this week, Khloe Kardashian returned home for the first time since Lamar’s overdose on October 13, and it was initially reported that the couple had gotten into a fight.
Now, sources say the real reason was that Lamar is finally well enough to communicate with hospital staff on his own, so Khloe took advantage of the opportunity to sleep in her own bed.
In fact TMZ is reporting that it was Lamar, not Khloe, who informed hospital security that his father was not to be allowed in the building.
It’s a sad situation, to be sure, but it’s certainly good news that Lamar is feeling so much better that he’s up to holding grudges.
The LA Times is reporting that Odom is still hooked up to dialysis machines, and while he’ll probably never fully recover from his brush with death, all of his organs should eventually be able to function on their own.
Sources say Odom is looking forward to the future and is already exploring his options with regard to drug counseling.

Rob Kardashian to Donate Kidney to Lamar Odom?!
We never though we’d say this. But the Kardashians aren’t a**holes all of the time. (Just most of the time).
Rob Kardashian is reportedly willing to donate one of this kidneys in an attempt to save Lamar Odom’s life. Many fans have offered to donate a kidney to Lamar, but Rob wants to keep it in the family.
For NBA Star Odom needs a kidney transplant. And for most people on the transplant list, the wait could be years.
However, if Rob is a compatible donor, Lamar might not have to endure the grueling wait-list for a new kidney.
A source told The Daily Mail, “Rob is willing to do whatever it takes to help Lamar recover. If that means donating a kidney then so be it, Rob has a big heart and he’s willing to step up to help his friend.”
Though it isn’t certain if Rob and Lamar are a compatible match for an organ donation, the source claims, “Rob is willing to undergo medical tests to find out.”
Three days after he was found unresponsive, he woke from a coma. But he has suffered a number of strokes and damage to his lungs and kidneys.
In the weeks after Lamar’s near-fatal drug overdose at a Nevada brothel, the basketball star has been undergoing kidney dialysis.
To donate a kidney, Rob will have to submit to a number of extensive tests. Despite Rob’s rapid weight gain, he is healthy enough to donate a kidney.
Rob has been exercising and losing the weight that he has gained over the last few years. Maybe his weight loss journey will save two lives: his own and Lamar’s.
Still, Lamar has more than health issues to deal with right now. Odom test positive for cocaine, which could lead to prosecution according to Nevada’s Nye County sheriff Sharon Wehrly.

Lamar Odom Seeking Kidney Transplant, Sources Say
Earlier today, we reported that Lamar Odom has been transported to a hospital in Los Angeles where he will continue to the recovery process after nearly dying from an overdose last week.
Reports on the 35-year-old’s condition have been mostly positive over the past week, with several sources claiming that Odom has begun physical therapy and is able to walk and engage in simple conversations.
Unfortunately, Odom still has a long way to go.
Hospital insiders say that while the damage to his brain is not as severe as expected, he still runs the risk of multiple organ failure.
Odom is currently undergoing dialysis, but TMZ is now reporting that he may require a life-saving kidney transplant in the very near future.
Odom is currently undergoing six hours of dialysis a day, and will likely never be able to leave the hospital without the donation of a healthy kidney.
To make matters worse, doctors are still uncertain about the extent of Odom’s brain damage, as they feel that he’s in too fragile of a state to undergo the necessary tests.
Needless to say, Odom’s road to recovery will be a long and difficult one. We’ll keep you updated on his condition as more information becomes available.
