The Weeknd: Did He Just Threaten Selena Gomez?
The honeymoon may very well be over for Selena Gomez and The Weeknd.
Despite reports that the singers were “holding hands and very affectionate” toward one another while on a date at the Sunset Tower Hotel’s Tower Bar, new evidence suggests that at least one half of this new couple is very unhappy with the other half.
And he may have even just issued some kind of threat against her.
We don’t want to jump to any conclusions here, but The Weeknd Tweeted a cryptic message yesterday afternoon that has fans reeling and wondering.
“playing with me is a dangerous game,” reads the Tweet in question.
Is he referring to Gomez here? If so, what did she do? If so, what is the artist saying he’ll do in response?!?
Gomez and The Weeknd got together toward the end of 2016.
While some reports have claimed that things are serious between the couple (like, REALLY SERIOUS between the couple), others have alleged that Selena is merely using her new man.
The argument on this side, one espoused by Justin Bieber, goes something like this:
Selena has been out of the spotlight for a few months and is about to release new music.
She’s therefore pretending to be involved in an intense romance with The Weeknd in order to garner headlines and indirectly promote her upcoming album.
We can’t say for certain whether this is accurate.
But The Weeknd referencing how someone is “playing” with him would lend credence to the theory, wouldn’t it?
According to In Touch Weekly, however, there are problems between Selena and The Weeknd.
But they are unrelated to any notion of Gomez using her boyfriend for professional reasons.
The tabloid recently quoted a source who says Gomez has been “suffocating” The Weeknd, pushing to accompany him on his Starboy: Legend of the Fall 2017 world tour.
“Selena is begging to join him,” this tabloid writes, adding:
“He likes her, but he feels like she’s moving way too quickly. Selena’s paranoid that fans will be throwing themselves at The Weeknd and he’ll be tempted to stray.
“She’s so scared that she’s threatened to dump him if he doesn’t let her come along on tour.”
So what we have here is two contrasting theories. Gomez is either…
- Using The Weeknd and doesn’t like him very much and he’s angry.
- Really in love with The Weeknd and drivig him sort of insane as a result.
Which do you believe?
Adds this same In Touch source:
“Selena’s acting so crazy that he’s starting to have second thoughts about their relationship. Friends are concerned that it’s only a matter of time before it all ends in tears due to Selena’s self-sabotaging ways.”
Ouch.
That would so not be what Gomez needs right now, not after all those years of going back and forth with Justin Bieber.
A previous article written by Hollywood Life, though, says Selena is actually more serious about The Weeknd than she ever was about Bieber.
“Selena is feeling things she never felt before with The Weeknd,” claims this insider, concluding:
“For the first time in a long time, Selena has her confidence back and she credits that to having Abel in her life. She is healthier than she has been in a long time and having an honest relationship has a lot to do with her feeling so strongly.
“Abel makes Selena feel secure and she sees this as her first mature relationship as an adult.”
We just don’t want to see Selena get hurt again.
We hope she is thinking everything through clearly here.

Sinead O"Connor Did NOT Threaten Suicide, Calls Report "Malicious Gossip"
This is not the first time Sinead O’Connor has behaved erratically, but that doesn’t make it any less frightening.
On June 23rd, Chicago police received a call from Dublin, Ireland authorities that the singer’s family had alerted them that O’Connor had threatened to kill herself.
According to TMZ, O’Connor told loved ones that she planned to jump off a Chicago-area bridge.
Though it’s not an “active search,” local police have been given the heads up to keep a lookout for the 49-year-old.
O’Connor refuted this report on her Facebook page on June 24th:
“Oh and by the way it’s bullshit I jumped off a bridge, some stupid bitch up at Swords Garda station decided she’d like to throw a bit of false and malicious gossip about is all).
“AM FAR TOO FUCKING HAPPY FOR THAT!!”
O’Connor sent another Facebook update a few hours later:
“Thought for the day Of The Baptist.. Sometimes the rage of a soul is equivalent to the size of that soul’s knowledge of and desire to revel in it’s glorious God given right to LIVE.
“Free as it was created in the beginning. When there was NOTHING BUT THE WORD.”
It was believed that cops thought they found O’Connor based on the description they were given, but it was not her.
People Magazine reports that the call from Dublin came in around 5:30 p..m local time.
Chicago Police department “issued an all-call radio message” to officers to be on the lookout for the singer.
“Sinead O’Connor called and said ‘I’m on a bridge in Chicago and I’m going to jump,” Irish law enforcement reportedly warned.
Police, however, wouldn’t confirm with the media if this call was for O’Connor.
Just last month, O’Connor was reported missing, and friends feared that she had taken her own life.
Last year, O’Connor wrote a suicide note on Facebook stating she’d overdosed, but was later found safe in Dublin.
In 2011, O’Connor fired off a series of suicidal tweets, prompting a visit from police.
