Cruel Intentions Remake: Coming to NBC?!

Television networks are searching for proven brands, looking to harness nostalgia among angsty 30-somethings and resigning themselves to an utter lack of ideas.

The result? Remakes galore!!

Case in point of the day: NBC is working on a small screen of Cruel Intentions, a longtime fan favorite of Millennials and Slightly Older Than Millennials.

These days, with the Internet’s proliferation and shows like Gossip Girl, sex, lies, backstabbing, girl on girl action and bullying are the norm on teen dramas.

In 1999, the Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon and Sarah Michelle Gellar drama was boundary-pushing, and damned if it’s not still sexy as f–k.

A seminal film, if you will. In more ways than one. Anyway, the Cruel Intentions TV series, if it gets the green light, will center around Bash Casey, 16.

He’s the son of Phillippe and Witherspoon’s characters from the original film, Sebastian and Annette, and the show will be set in the present day.

After finding his father’s journal, Bash learns of a family legacy he wasn’t aware existed, and sets off looking for answers, intrigued to say the least.

He swaps his small-town Kansas upbringing (!?) for a scholarship to Brighton Prep in San Francisco, and you can imagine what he discovers there.

Basically, the youngster will be balls deep in sex, money, power and corruption and have to navigate that world without losing his soul in the process.

Cruel Intentions is just the latest in an endless string of reboots, although this season’s remakes and revivals have debuted to mixed results.

Fox’s Minority Report was not the hit the network imagined, and NBC’s Heroes reminded us why the show got so bad it had to be canceled initially.

On the flip side, CBS’ Limitless follow-up has done fairly well, and Netflix has probably struck gold with its upcoming Gilmore Girls revival.

Marty McFly and Doc Brown to Jimmy Kimmel: 2015 Sucks!

As anyone with an Internet connection and/or knowledge of an iconic movie knew this week, yesterday marked Back to the Future Day.

That"s because Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) time-traveled to October 21, 2015 in Back to the Future Part II.

And where did they land? On the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

In a hilarious bit on Wednesday night, Fox and Lloyd reprised their beloved characters, showing up alongside the comedian and asking many questions about the year and the world around them.

Is there peace in the Middle East yet? Are there hoverboards? Flying cards? No, no and no.

So.. what is there? What has mankind achieved? The cronut and the selfie, pretty much.

Watch McFly and Brown act very discouraged by the apparent laziness of their fellow human beings, and very depressed by this lame future, now:

Lamar Odom to Khloe Kardashian: I Will NEVER DO DRUGS Again!!

After staring death square in the face and pulling through, Lamar Odom won Khloe Kardashian back by convincing her he is off drugs for good.

As we reported Wednesday, the Lamar Odom-Khloe Kardashian divorce is off, as the couple have nullified the paperwork and will remain married.

Odom convinced her to do this by swearing he would never do drugs again after hitting rock bottom … which is clearly where he was a week ago.

It’s been quite a turnaround for the 35-year-old.

Last Tuesday, he was found unconscious by a couple of prostitutes, reportedly having overdosed on cocaine and herbal Viagra, whatever that is.

He was given a 50-50 chance of survival.

Some news outlets reported that he briefly died before being revived, or that he was actually brain dead. It’s unclear how true any of that is medically.

In any case, he cheated death, and in any case, he’s damn clear on this. Inside sources close to the celebrity couple says he told Khloe unequivocally:

“I am done with drugs.”

He also thanked her profusely for coming to Las Vegas and supporting him throughout this ordeal, and that he loved her, over and over again.

For her, that was enough.

Khloe has made no issue of the fact that she would have preferred being married to Lamar all along, and made the decision right then to drop the divorce.

It’s not just loose talk, either. Her lawyer, Laura Wasser, went to court and got the judge to dismiss the divorce case, which was about to be finalized.

She will nurse Lamar back to health, as long as that takes, and may quit Keeping Up with the Kardashians if it comes to it. Remarkable, honestly.

Not everyone in the Kardashian family thinks this is the right move, given that they’ve heard the same thing from Odom before, but Khloe is all in now.

Is she making the right decision?

Kylie Jenner Stuns World, Says Goodbye to Large Lips

We hope you’re sitting down for this, readers. We hope you are prepared to be shocked.

Because Kylie Jenner has a stunning announcement to make.

In a video posted on her new app, the 18-year old says she’s ready to move on from the controversial look that has garnered her so many headlines over the past year or so.

“You know what’s weird? I’ve been into small lips lately. Like, I want them to look small, you know?” Kylie tells fans in the footage.

Jenner, of course, spent many months telling anyone who would listen that her lips were 100% natural.

She was then called out by half-sister Khloe Kardashian during an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and forced to admit that she actually uses lip fillers.

Kylie defended her look in the past by saying she had always felt insecure about the size of her lips.

She added that she never meant to start a trend that grew so viral and even so dangerous that folks started to take on The Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge.

This involved people sticking their mouths into small containers in order to swell up their lips to Kylie’s preferred size.

It was rather ridiculous and it prompted a harsh response from Kylie.

Here’s a look back at Jenner’s lip evolution over the years, and then here’s a question for fans:

What body part will Kylie focus on next?!?
