Jessa Duggar Baby Name: Revealed! SUPER Weird!

The Duggar family has a long history of unusual baby names, but Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, may have just chosen the most, um…unique handle yet for their newborn baby boy.

Shortly after the child was born, Jess and Ben revealed that they planned to take their time choosing a name.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Jessa stated that she and Ben were working hard to come up with a “strong name with a lot of meaning.”

Now, after nearly a week of deliberation, the Seewalds have decided to saddle their firstborn with the unfortunate moniker of Spurgeon.

Yes, Spurgeon Elliot Seewald is officially the newest member of the Duggar clan.

Fans of the HBO series Eastbound and Down might remember Spurgeon as the name of Kenny Powers’ pet hermit crab.

The word also has an Urban Dictionary entry that we won’t reprint here out of respect to Jessa and Ben, but trust us: it’s a doozy

Not surprisingly, Jessa and Ben didn’t draw their inspiration from either of those sources.

Instead, little Spurgeon is named after 19th Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon, who was apparently one of the best known ministers in England during his lifetime.

Hey, at least it’s original. Here’s hoping they have some good nickname options in mind!

Bravo Announces The Real Housewives of WHERE?!

OK.  So.  There are more Housewives looking to promote their wine/jewelry/couture/poodle hair extensions line, so get ready for two new cities full of saucy minxes.

Yeah!

The Real Housewives of Potomac, premiering January 17th, 2016, will feature crazy women fighting over dumb things, set against the backdrop of a “cozy, upscale enclave with gated mansions, rolling hills, and exclusive country clubs.”

The cast includes:

  • Socialite and single mom Gizelle Bryant

  • International model/TV personality Katie Rost

  • “Grand dame Karen Huger (I don’t know what that means)

  • “Social butterfly” Charrisse Jackson-Jordan

  • Publicist and single mom Robyn Dixon

  • Restaurateur Ashley Darby

“If you haven’t heard of Potomac, that’s fine, because that means we’ve done a great job of keeping it a nice, little secret.” – Gizelle Bryant

We haven’t, Gizelle, but we did watch The Real Housewives of D.C. and are kind of confused as to Andy Cohen and Co. are still trying to make the D.C area happen, since the national’s capital franchise only made it through one season (we will always have Michaele Salahi, she who snuck into a White House dinner, then left her husband, Tareq for Journey’s Neal Schon; their wedding was available to rent on Pay-Per-View).

Not to overwhelm you with Housewives news, but there will also be a Dallas franchise!

I’m actually shocked they haven’t already conquered Dallas, since big hair, debutantes, Neiman Marcus and oil money tie in very well with the Bravo theme.

“It’s a natural extension of the franchise with a Southern twist that ‘ya’ll’ will enjoy,” Cohen said in a statement obtained by E!.

The Real Housewives of Dallas will air later in 2016.

Jessa Duggar Discusses Decision to Hold Off on Naming Baby

It’s been almost a week since Jessa Duggar gave birth to her first child, but she and husband Ben Seewald still have yet to reveal the baby boy’s name.

Of course, there’s a simple reason for that – Jessa and Ben still haven’t chosen a name!

“We want to give him a strong name, with a lot of meaning,” Jessa told People magazine recently.

While she wouldn’t give any specifics as to what monikers she and Ben are considering, Jessa did say that the list is comprised mainly of names of “heroes from the Christian faith.”

She added that she and Ben will not be going with a “letter theme” like Jessa’s theme.

“It’s been really cool to meet him, look at his face and match a name to who he is,” Jessa said. “It is going to be very special. A lot of thought has gone into it.”

“He is going to have this name for the rest of his life,” Ben added.

But while Jessa and Ben may be uncertain of what to name the little guy, there’s no doubt that they’re head over heels for the new addition to their family.

After what’s been described as a “very intense” labor, Jessa immediately began posting pics and gushing about her bundle of joy on social media.

Now he just needs a name so that Jessa’s equally excited fans can give #BabySeewald a new hashtag.

Marjorie Jackson to Publish Book About Split From Josiah Duggar

Back in August, Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson broke up after just a few weeks of “courting.”

Shortly thereafter, we learned that  Marjorie was planning to write a tell-all about her brief involvement with the 19 Kids and Counting clan.

Naturally, family patriarch Jim Bob Duggar was none too pleased by the prospect of having his family’s secrets exposed by an ambitious teen, and we’re sure he was thrilled when Marjorie and Josiah got back together last month.

(There were rumors that Jim Bob engineered the reconciliation to shut Marjorie up, but that’s a conversation for another time.)

Now, however, Radar Online is reporting that Marjorie’s book deal is still a go, and the Duggars might still be running scared.

The book has been re-imagined as guide to romance for Christian teens, but that doesn’t mean the finished product will be entirely Duggar-friendly.

Fans of the show know that the Duggars’ courtship rules are incredibly harsh, and if Marjorie writes about so much as kissing Josiah, it could be seriously humiliating for the family that popularized the “side-hug.”

“Romantic sparks are fickle and unreliable—here one day, faded the next,” Marjorie recently wrote in a blog post about the project.

Based on that description, it sounds as though young Marjorie is 1. a student of the Stephenie Meyer school of romance writing, and 2. planning to cash in on the ups and downs of her relationship with Josiah.

It might be time to worry, Jim Bob.
