Merle Haggard Dies; Country Music Legend Was 79

Country music icon Merle Haggard has passed away at the age of 79.

According to a statement from his manager, Haggard suffered a recurrence of the double pneumonia that hospitalized him last year.

The legendary singer/songrwriter rebounded in recent weeks, and at the time of his death, he was planning a tour with frequent collaborator Willie Nelson in support of the Django and Jimmie album the duo released last year.

Haggard was forced to cancel those shows last week due to health problems, and he passed away this morning on his 79th birthday

After a troubled youth that had him in out of correctional facilities from a young age the “Okie from Muskogee” experienced a transformative moment at the age of 21 when, as an inmate, he got to experience Johnny Cash’s legendary concert at San Quentin State Prison.

Haggard decided then to devote himself to writing songs, and the years that followed would take him from the penitentiary to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

With a string of hits such “The Bottle Let Me Down,” “Branded Man,” “Sing Me Back Home,” and “Mama Tried,” Haggard quickly became one of the top-selling artists in country.

His collaborations with Willie Nelson resulted in such classic albums as 1983’s Pancho and Lefty and 2015’s Django and Jimmie, both of which reached the top of the country charts.

Haggard became a trending topic on Twitter within moments of when the news of his death went public, and heartfelt tributes are currently pouring in from famous friends and his many devoted fans.

Donald Trump Makes GROSS Comment About Infant Daughter in Clip Unearthed By Daily Show

As you"re probably aware, Donald Trump is no fan of women.

For the most part, the feeling is mutual, which isn"t all that surprising when you remember that the guy recently advocated for women who get abortions to be punished by the government.

But there are some women who are actually fans of the Donald.

In addition to the millions who have showed up to the polls to earn him a baffling first-place spot in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, there are Trump"s own ex-wives and daughters, some of whom think he"s just the bee"s knees.

One of those women is Tiffany Trump, Donald"s only child from his short-lived marriage to Marla Maples.

There have been rumors about Donald "hiding" Tiffany during his campaign, possibly because she"s not as "accomplished" as his other kids.

There was a time, however, when Donald was very, very proud of his youngest daughter.

And like everything Trump does, it was gross.

In the following segment from last night"s episode of The Daily Show, host Trevor Noah introduces a lost segment from a 1994 episode of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

We"re guessing Donald wishes it had stayed buried. Check out the clip below if you haven"t eaten recently:

Catelynn Lowell Sends First Message From Rehab: How"s She Doing??

It’s been about three weeks since Catelynn Lowell checked into a treatment center to get help for mental health issues, and fans have been concerned ever since.

We’ve not heard a peep from the Teen Mom OG star since she left for the Arizona facility, but Cate finally tweeted an update yesterday.

“Just wanted to know I’m doing great!” she wrote. “Best decision I have ever made for myself.. I’ll b home soon #thankyouforyoursupport”

Catelynn opened up about her battle with postpartum depression earlier this year, revealing that she’s suffered from the condition ever since giving birth to daughter Novalee in January of 2015.

“I didn’t really know and I still don’t know what’s going on with my postpartum,” she told Life & Style. “For a while I felt fine, but I’ve always suffered from depression, anxiety and panic attacks.”

Cate’s husband Tyler Baltierra has shown tremendous support and has stuck by her side throughout her struggle.

“Tyler is my backbone and helps me a lot,” said Catelynn.

It appears Tyler has been visiting his wife in Arizona this week. Yesterday, he shared several photos of himself with a friend on a hike through the state’s majestic Grand Canyon.

He also retweeted Catelynn’s post from the treatment center.

We’re happy to hear Cate is on the mend and hope she gets back to her old self soon.
