Why Is Jenelle Evans Driving Across the Country? A Mystery Explained

As we reported earlier this week, Jenelle Evans is driving across the country along with her husband, David Eason.

Curiously, Jenelle and David flew to California last week, but it seems they"ve decided to rent a car and drive home.

And their choice of transportation isn"t the only unusual thing about this coast-to-coast odyssey.

Check out what Teen Mom 2 fans have to say about Jenelle and David"s traveling sideshow:

1. On the Road Again

Roy Clark Dies; Country Music Legend Was 85

Roy Clark, a legend in the world of country music and the former host of Hee Haw, died this morning at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was 85 years old.

A representative for the Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winner tells TMZ Clark passed away after having recently contracted pneumonia — and that he ultimately passed due to complications from the illness.

Clark had been in the spotlight for decades.

He started performing all the way back at the age of 14 and was one of the first artists to land singles on both the pop and country charts.

Adept at the guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica and many other instruments, Clark was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009.

He was born in Virginia and was introduced to the music industry by his father, who saw exceptional talent in his young son.

“I was subjected to different kinds of music before I ever played,” Clark once said, adding of his father:

“Dad said, ‘Never turn your ear off to music until your heart hears it because then you might hear something you like."”

Sound advice, right?

Clark eventually went on tour with such stalwarts as Hank Williams and Grandpa Jones, dropping out of school when he could no longer keep up with the demands of both his burgeoning career and his studies.

“Music was my salvation, the thing I loved most and did best,” Clark said. “Whatever was fun, I’d go do that.”

After winning a banjo competition in 1950, Clark was invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.

However, it wasn’t until 1960, when Clark performed with Wanda Jackson, that his career truly took off.

After opening for Jackson in Las Vegas, he launched his own headlining tour, remaining on the road for 345 consecutive nights… and earning him his very own show in Sin City.

In 1962, Clark released his debut album, “The Lightning Fingers of Roy Clark.”

This album spawned his first hit, “The Tips of My Fingers,” which included an orchestra and strings section.

In 1963, Clark appeared on both The Tonight Show and American Bandstand, showing off a sense of humor and personality that not many fans even knew existed.

clark, r

“Humor is a blessing to me,” said Clark. “My earliest recollections are of looking at something and seeing the lighter side. But it’s always spontaneous. I couldn’t write a comedy skit for someone else.”

This point of view and this talent helped Clark become the host of Hee Haw, a country music variety show.

He helmed the program for 24 years and his guests included Johnny Cash, Garth Brooks and Loretta Lynn.

Clark is survived by Barbara, his wife of 61 years, and his five children.

Although an exact date and time has not yet been announced, a memorial is expected to be held in the coming days in Tulsa.

Daryle Singletary Dies; Country Singer Was 46

Daryle Singletary, a country musician responsible for many popular hits in the 1990s, was found dead on Monday morning at his home near Nashville.

He was 46 years old.

According to the singer’s publicist, Singletary’s passing was unexpected and sudden.

“The cause of death is pending,” his rep told ABC News in a statement, adding:

“The family asks for your thoughts and prayers during this time.”

Singletary is probably best known to this day for his impressive run of of top-five country tracks in the mid-1990s, including such singles as:

  • “I Let Her Lie”

  • “Too Much Fun”

  • “Amen Kind of Love.”

His greatest successes may have taken place years ago, but Singletary remained a frequent performer up until his death.

He even took to the stage just this past Friday in Alabama, and did not show any signs of illness or any health difficulties at the time.

In response to this unexpected death, many singers and groups from within the country music world took to social media in order to pay their respects.

“Heartbroken,” LOCASH shared on Instagram, along with a photo of Singletary, adding online:

“Sad Day … We lost our Brother … One of the Greatest Voices in Country Music, A true Legend but an even better Friend, Huntin’ Buddy, Husband, Father & Man. Prayin’ for him and his family.”

Craig Campell, meanwhile, posted the following image and wrote the following words:

“Sad day…the greatest country voice of my time is now singing in Heaven’s band. Gonna miss you @Darylesing ! Now show them how a good ol country shuffle is supposed to sound!”

There was also this from country legend Travis Tritt:

“I’m shocked and saddened to hear that Daryle Singletary has passed away.

SiriusXm’s The Highway even got in on the mournful act, Tweeting:

Lari White Dies of Cancer; Country Singer Was 52

Lari White, a Grammy-winning country artist best known for such hits as “Now I Know” and “That’s My Baby,” died on Tuesday after a brief battle with cancer.

She was 52 years old.

The passing of White, who rose to fame after appearing on Jim Ed Brown’s “You Can Be a Star” talent show, was confirmed in a sad note left by her mother, Yvonne.

It reads as follows:

Last night all her Family-of-Origin circled round her bed, saying our goodbyes to Lari, loving her, praying, sending her messages of support and gratitude. Her Dad gave her his loving foot massage.

[Husband] Chuck and their three children joined with us, and it was such a comfort to all of us to be ‘Together Again’ around Lari.

Chuck and their children bathed her in the same love and care all night long they have given to her for four months. At 4:44 this morning, Lari peacefully took her ‘Rain Walk.’

A Florida native, White signed a recording contract with Capitol Nashville shortly after winning the aforementioned Brown-hosted reality program.

However, the singer was dropped from that label after releasing just one track.

She later became back-up singer for Rodney Crowell and then signed a new deal with RCA, which produced her hit 1993 album, “Lead Me Not.”

A year later, she released her second record and, along with it, her three biggest singles:

  • “That’s My Baby” hit number-10 on the Country Songs Billboard Chart.

  • “That’s How You Know (When You’re In Love)” accomplished this same feat.

  • And so did “Now I Know.”

White was also known being for a cast member in the 2006 Broadway musical “Ring of Fire.”

The musician revealed in November of last year that she had been diagnosed with peritoneal cancer.

Tragically, her condition quickly worsened from there.

On January 19, her mother announced that White had entered hospice care, writing at the time:

There is so much I could say about Lari, but multitudes of you have said it already.

God gave us a very special gift when he sent this incredible baby to a young, inexperienced…and frightened!…couple  …But in spite of this,  we loved her with all our hearts.

From the beginning, we knew that she was ‘something else’…wise and funny, intelligent and super-talented…so loving, kind and compassionate…with a heart as big as all of Heaven.

I have never known a person who did not love her and respect her, as evidenced by the great outpouring of love and concern of so many people.  Every role she has played in Life has been superb, and most of all, her role as Mother.

We are blessed to be her Family.  Chuck and their three children are blessed to have her as Wife and Mother. Thank you, God, for Lari!

In response to White’s passing, a number of artists expressed sorrow and sadness on Twitter.

To wit:

responses to White

White is survived by her husband, Nashville songwriter Chuck Cannon, and three children.

Funeral arrangements are pending

We send our condolences to the singer’s family and we hope she is resting in peace.

Matt Lauer"s Wife Just Fled the Country

Talk about a tale of two wives…

As previously reported, Matt Lauer has very few friends in light of the sexual harassment, misconduct and assault claims recently made against him.

But one unexpected source of support has actually been his ex-wife, Nancy Alspaugh, who told Entertainment Tonight that she has reached out to Lauer and supports him “one hundred percent,” even adding:

“He’s been the best person that’s ever held that job…

“I couldn’t imagine that anything that he would have done – that would have been so out of character for him – that would have caused that reaction.”

She’s referring, of course, to the reaction of NBC to allegations that Lauer acted inappropriately in the presence of at least one co-worker.

Inappropriate in a sexual manner, that is, which caused the network to terminate Lauer’s contact this past Monday night.

Conversely, however, Lauer’s current wife is showing her husband no such support.

According to The New York Post, Annette Roque has actually fled the United States in the wake of these horrible accusations.

She has allegedly taken the couple’s two youngest children – Romy, 14, and Thijs, 11 – and returned to her native Netherlands to be with family.

(The couple also share a 16-year old son named Jack.)

Roque and Lauer actually field for divorce over a decade ago, prior to changing their mind.

There’s been talk for years that Lauer has not been loyal to his wife, as he lives at least half of the time in New York City; while she and the kids reside in Long Island.

Seven months pregnant in 2006 when she filed to legally split from Lauer, Roque cited “cruel and inhumane” treatment in her official papers, mentioning Lauer’s “extremely controlling” behavior at the time.

The two have since reconciled, but it’s barely even a secret that they live separate lives.

“They play happy families at their Hamptons home on weekends, and then she lets him run off to New York to do Today – and goodness knows what else,” an East End source told to Radar Online in September.

Hollywood, meanwhile, remains rocked by the Lauer scandal.

Yes, it’s just the latest in a long line of alleged sexual misbehavior by male stars such as Kevin Spacey, Louis CK and Charlie Rose.

But Lauer was the face of NBC, the highest paid employee at the network, the person who greeted millions of Americans every morning.

Said News Chairman Andrew Lack in the statement that confirmed Lauer’s firing:

“While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.

“Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender.

“We are deeply saddened by this turn of events.”

The embattled morning anchor has since apologized in a statement of his own, saying on Thursday:

“There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry.”

Since this story broke, follow-up reports have claimed Lauer dropped his pants in front of staffers, gifted them with sex toys and may have even raped one of them.

He’ll never work on television again, that much is certain.
