Nick Cannon REFUSING to Sign Mariah Carey Divorce Papers: Why??
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey are STILL married, everyone.
Technically, that is.
Even though Mariah became engaged to James Packer in January and sports a gargantuan 35-carat diamond engagement ring the business mogul gave her.
The scoop is that Mariah has been beseeching her ex Nick to sign off on the divorce papers, but he keeps stalling and won’t say why, reports TMZ.
It’s kind of odd, because Nick was the one who filed for divorce in 2014, but it seems he’s having a change of heart.
Sources have told the site that he really just doesn’t want to let Mariah go.
Everything’s been settled – including the property deal and custody arrangement for the couple’s kids – so all that’s missing is Nick’s John Hancock to make the divorce official.
Understandably, Mariah is frustrated and wants to move forward with her fiance, but sources say Nick is making that difficult.
Since the split, all has appeared amicable between the former flames.
When Mariah announced her engagement, Nick wished the couple well and even shared a hilarious meme poking fun at himself on Instagram.
In the caption, Nick wrote:
“Ha! This made me laugh out loud for real!!! HILARIOUS! #AllLove Congrats to @MariahCarey and James! May God Bless Your Future Union… #GreatPeople #GreatCouple”
Additionally, when the couple split, he vowed never to utter a bad word about his ex and mother of his children.
“I will never say anything negative about @MariahCarey. We are forever a family rooted in love,” he promised.
So why won’t he sign? Smells like something’s going on behind the scenes that hasn’t come out yet.
Jill Duggar: Criticized for Seeking Mother-in-Law"s Birth Mom on Twitter!
Jill Duggar is catching heat again.
This time, it’s got nothing to do with her trying to get pregnant while in El Salvador as the Zika virus runs rampant there.
Instead, she’s coming under fire for seeking out the birth mom of her husband Derick Dillard’s mother, Cathy, who was adopted.
Jill even sent out a plea to fans on Twitter, asking for help from anyone who might know of the woman’s whereabouts.
“Please help us find @cldilla birth mom. Anyone know Joyce Perry (DOB 12/9/1925)? Previously in TX, OK & PA. Israel would love 2 meet ggma!” she tweeted.
It may be worth noting that Jill and Derick’s son Israel is one, and likely doesn’t even understand what a great grandmother is.
In addition to the tweet, the couple also posted a notice on the Duggar Family Blog, announcing their search for Joyce Perry.
Fans, of course, deemed this public hunt inappropriate.
“Does CATHY want to know more about Cathy’s birth family?” wrote one reader. “If so, why not before now? Why now? I hope Jill & Derick aren’t turning up stones they should be leaving alone. This kind of venture can be full of pitfalls for everyone involved.”
Another fan chimed in:
“Okay…..this is strange. Maybe Cathy’s birth mother didn’t want to be known.”
Adding to the strangeness of it all is that Cathy had already tracked down her biological mother years ago, and noted the woman wanted nothing to do with her.
She made the admission after implying that her mom would’ve had an abortion if it had been legal.
“If abortion had been legal when I was born, I wouldn’t be here! Neither would Derick, Dan or Baby Dilly!” she tweeted, which prompted a fan to ask her to clarify.
“My birth mother whom I located when I was 27,” Cathy added. “She had put me up for adoption at birth and still didn’t want to meet me even then.”
It’s unclear the real reason that’s motivating Jill to find this woman, but we do know she and Derick have considered adopting a child of their own.
Jack Black Reported Dead via Twitter!
Jack Black has been reported dead… but read on before you start with the tears.
The comedian was apparently the victim of a hoax pulled by hacker who busted into the Twitter account of Tenacious D, Black’s band.
Early on Sunday, a disturbing tweet from the account was sent.
“I’m sad to officially announce the death of Jack Black at the age of 46, rest in peace brother,” read the post.
Shortly thereafter, a second tweet reading simply “#RipJackBlack” was issued.
And to make sure it seemed super believable, the hacker sent a third tweet:
“It is with a heavy heart I am to announce that Jack Black passed away last night at 3:37am. The cause of death is yet unknown.”
After a number of media outlets reported the alleged death, the criminal finally came clean.
“Calm down guys! It’s just a prank bro, look there’s the camera,” he or she wrote, adding, “The Legend is still alive, it is ok guys :)”
And then, unbelievably, the a-hole took a stab at self-promotion.
“While you are all on Twitter, you should all follow me @Ruthless”
If any of you were in fact considering following this person, sorry, the account has been suspended.
Tenacious D has resumed control of the account and the death tweets have been deleted. The band sent a message clarifying that the whole ordeal was nothing but a terribly unfunny hoax.
“WE had our Twitter account hacked. We can assure you that Jack is ALIVE and WELL and that this was a sick ‘prank,"” they tweeted.
Last we heard from Black, he was starting up some shiz with Leonardo DiCaprio, but that quickly fizzled out, as we’re sure this scandal will as well.
