Last month, we reported that Paris Jackson had broken up with Chester Castellaw after nine months of dating.
The teens weren’t together terribly long, but at one point, it appeared that Paris and Chester were engaged, so it’s not surprising that Paris is taking the separation hard.
Knowing about Paris’ past suicide attempts and history of depression, fans have been on the lookout for signs that her current malaise is more than just the post-breakup blues, and many have grown concerned as a result of the 17-year-old’s latest social media post.
After some fans criticized her for being photographed smoking a cigarette, Paris defended herself in an uncharacteristically angry tirade:
“Smoking isn’t cool. I get it,” Jackson wrote.
“Sure as hell beats everything else in my past though. This is the least bad thing I could be doing right now. Especially compared to over half the population of 17-year-old girls in this country.”
The post has since been deleted, but sadly, it’s not the only indication that Paris may be having a difficult time coping with some recent changes in her life:
“There are fears that Paris is in a dangerous downward spiral,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online.
“Her family described her as ‘inconsolable’ after her break up with Chester, and now she has completely shut everyone out,” said the source. “She also thought that some of her old friends took his side after the breakup and no longer trusts them.
Paris has not spoken publicly about the breakup, but many fans feel that her Instagram page has turned into a cry for help in recent weeks.
