Say what you will about Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin, but they sure know how to turn their messy, drama-filled lives into quality entertainment.
And really, isn’t that the entire point of the Teen Mom franchise?
Kailyn and Javi went through a very nasty, very public divorce, and they’ve both been quick to holler at the press with any detail or thought or feeling about the other.
We’ve heard Javi say that plastic surgery changed Kailyn, we’ve heard Kailyn’s reasoning for getting a protective order against Javi … and that’s just the tip of this giant, ridiculous iceberg.
Now, Kailyn is pregnant, and she’s refusing to name the father (though it does seem like she let it slip that her third child’s father is a man named Chris Lopez). And Javi is being mighty shady about it.
So they’ve reached peak pettiness now, right? Things couldn’t possibly get any worse between them?
Not so fast.
It turns out that Javi is trying his hardest to find love after Kailyn. And not only to find love … but to find love on reality television.
And you know Kailyn is going to lose her mind over that.
See, MTV has this show called Are You The One? The premise is that a punch of attractive single men and a bunch of attractive single women live in a house together and try to find their soulmates.
Javi sent in an audition tape for the show, and it was aired on the Are You The One? after show this week.
“Hey everybody, this is Javi,” he said on the tape. “Most of you know me from Teen Mom 2. You know what happened to me and you know I love to love and I’m looking for love and just can’t find it.”
“I have a three-year-old little boy,” he added, “he mens everything to me. I’m trying to figure out who is the one. I’m trying to take someone out on a date.”
Radar Online got a hold of Javi to ask him if he was actually going to be on the show.
“I don’t know,” he answered. “We would have to figure out the logistics. I doubt Teen Mom would let me since we are mid filming.”
But apparently he is serious about landing a dating show.
After his tape aired, he tweeted that he “Appreciated the love yesterday” on the show, adding that “Maybe one day I’ll find it.”
One of his followers suggested that he go on Famously Single first, the E! dating show known for bringing Pauly D and Aubrey O’Day together.
“Right?!” he responded.
So please, somebody, anybody, get this poor guy a dating show gig. It sounds like he really needs it.
