Mary J. Blige may be separated from Martin “Kendu” Isaacs, but that does not mean she doesn’t have to open her checkbook for him.
After several attempts to let the judge know that the prenuptial agreement the couple had in place meant there was no spousal support to be paid, Blige has allegedly been ordered to pay Isaacs $ 30,000 per month in spousal support.
That figure is a far cry from the $ 129,319 that Isaacs was initially going after, but thankfully for Mary, the judge did not feel like that was an appropriate figure.
Ever since Mary filed for divorce in July 2016, there have been conflicting reports about what actually happened in the months leading up to the divorce.
You would think after a thirteen-year marriage, there would be a clearer picture about what paved the way for the divorce.
Some have even speculated that Mary’s own insecurities put a dampener on the relationship. One thing that springs to mind is a 2014 interview in which Blige pointed out that she did not allow her husband to have female friends.
Now, that’s a red flag right there. Mary later opened up about her comments on The Wendy Williams Show, declaring that the comments were taken out of context.
Wouldn’t it have been easier to release a statement saying that? Sure, but celebrities love to keep fans on their toes.
Earlier this year, People revealed that Martin had spent $ 420,000 during the marriage on “travel expenses.”
Now, that’s certainly a lot of money to spend, but Mary pointed out via the documents that those funds were actually spent on Martin’s secret girlfriend.
Blige also revealed that she pre-paid the lease on a Mercedes for her husband, so it sounds like she’s been footing the bill for everything throughout the course of the marriage.
Also, Mary was said to be furious that her husband will not turn over her “Grammy and other achievement awards.”
Simply put, it seems like things are very toxic between the pair.
The sad thing about all of this is that Mary claims she has racked up debts eclipsing $ 10 Million, and it looks like she’s going to have to pay it all off without the help of Martin.
Some relationships are just not meant to be, but this one sounds like things have been sour for most of the time.
What do you think about all of this?
