This week’s episode of Little People, Big World featured two key trips:
- Down memory lane.
- To the hospital.
Who was transported to the latter destination due to mind-numbing headaches? That feels like a good place to start…
The latest installment of this beloved TLC series gave both fans and Roloff family members a scare, as Zach once again came down with a case of severe migraines.
Those who watch Little People, Big World online or on television regularly have unfortunately seen this before.
Amy Roloff has frequently stated that her son’s ongoing health issue is related to his shunt, which doctors had to implant when he was a baby to drain excess fluids from his brain.
This is a common occurrence for people with dwarfism.
When he was a teenager, Zach had to replace the shunt, a procedure Amy thinks ought to take place again.
“Lately, I’ve just been getting really sick. Big, throbbing headaches. It’s never been this bad,” Zach said at one point in a confessional.
On Tuesday night, with the pain so terrible Zach could barely function, brother Jeremy drove him to the hospital.
Upon examining the reality star, doctors were unable to find anything inconclusive, telling Zach that perhaps stress could be one of the causes of these headaches.
And he certainly is under stress, considering the episode was filmed not long before he and Tori welcomed their first child into the world.
As part of his preparation for becoming a father, Zach actually practices driving his wife to the hospital once her water broke and she went into labor.
In the funniest segment from the episode, Matt Roloff pretended to be Tori, putting his son through the motions impending fatherhood by acting like a pregnant woman who’s about to give birth.
Watch the memorable scene in question below:
Tori, meanwhile, was trying to remain calm herself. And Amy was trying to help.
She held a little gathering for the mom-to-be, showing Tori photos of her husband as a child to take a bit of the pressure off.
“You might not have seen what a cutie Zach was,” Amy said while handing her daughter-in-law throwback picture after throwback picture.
“When I go through all the old photos, I go through a lifetime, I go through all the old moments,” Amy added.
These adorable photos of Zach included his first day of kindergarten (where he sported a pair of plaid plants), as well as one of him playing with his twin brother.
“It’s fun for us to go down memory lane and embrace what’s happening and have a nice sharing moment,” said Amy in response.
Tori gave birth via Cesarean section not long after this scene was filmed and she told the camera that she appreciated her mother and her mother-in-law trying to calm her nerves by sharing their own pregnancy stories.
But it didn’t really help.
“I think my mom and Amy are like, ‘Here’s the bad stuff but hopefully this won’t happen to you,’” Tori said, adding:
“I don’t need to hear scary stories about C-sections at the moment, I’m good.”
Thankfully, she’s VERY good at the moment.
Son Jackson Kyle is over a month old and doing quite well.
