Life of Kylie is a thing that, for better or for worse, exists now. You can read our Life of Kylie recap, because we watched it so that you wouldn"t have to.
Now that we"ve seen the first couple of episodes of Kylie Jenner"s very own reality series, they put out a superteaser for what"s to come the entire season.
And, as you"ll see in the video below, it looks nuts.
There"s a lot to unpackage in this superteaser for Life of Kylie, so let"s take you through the promo that teases everything that"s to come this season.
Not through all of it, but through the highlights that really jumped out at us about
First, though she doesn"t get into it so much in the superteaser, let"s get into how she talks about the burdens of being Kylie on the actual show.
As much as we want to roll our eyes at the idea of being a gorgeous famous teenage millionaire, we get it.
"There"s an image that I feel constantly pressured to keep up with," she said on Life of Kylie.
We almost wonder if keep up with is deliberate — living up to the image of her family — but that might just be how she talks.
"In order to, like, stay relevant for the public, I have to be on Instagram and I have to be on Snapchat, just … keeping people entertained."
That"s true, and that"s how she built her brand.
But it makes sense that it could start to seem overwhelming.
Of course, we know that Kylie hopes to use Life of Kylie to break away from her family a little.
If you"re thinking that if she"s tired of this life, she has more than enough money to just retire and never do any of this nonsense again … well, it looks like she"s thought of that.
One line, for which we really don"t have a context, is:
"What I really want is to live on a farm and have chickens."
Now, personally, I can"t relate — I like living in a city and having plenty of food options within walking distance and delivery distance.
Like, I don"t think that General Tso"s is a variety of chicken that somebody can just raise, so the farming life is not for me.
But there are plenty of people who really do just move away to raise chickens or farm or whatever.
And, as unfathomable as this may be, they enjoy it.
We suspect that Kylie romanticizes this life is because she"s, well, never had to do things.
Like she"s had to do family activities and public appearances, but it is almost impossible to imagine her wasting a Saturday engaged in physical labor because her parents want to spite the neighbor two houses down by having a nicer looking front lawn.
If you grow up getting forced to help your parents with their inexplicable garden, you either decide "wow, the only thing better than manual labor in the unbearable heat is getting your hands covered in dirt!" or you decide "When I"m an adult, I will literally never touch dirt ever again in my life."
But that"s not part of Kylie"s experience.
(We"re a little envious, but, you know, good for her)
It shows Kylie actually handling chickens and getting chicken mess all over her shoes, so it looks like Kylie"s getting that experience — just a little later in life than most people do.
But maybe the biggest thing is some sort of wedding.
It"s honestly hard to tell what"s going on.
Though Kris Jenner joking (probably joking) about needing to get it annulled afterwards may have just been a commentary on Kylie engaging in something that resembles a wedding.
Kylie"s faux(?) wedding is with bestie Jordyn Woods, and their relationship will obviously come up a lot.
Part of that relates to Jordyn Woods having to deal with fake friends who just want to associate with her to get closer to Kylie.
Kind of like Ursula going after Ariel to get to King Triton in The Little Mermaid: "It"s not you I"m after, I have much bigger fish to fry!"
Or, you know, whatever analogy first comes to your mind.
So that"s something that Jordyn has to deal with.
Honestly, though … we"re gonna want to see the context for that wedding scene.
It looks like Kylie"s also going to be grappling with knockoff versions of her lip kit products.
And, you know, dealing with her family — with her mother, at least.
Watching Kylie try to maneuver her way around a chicken farm is going to be kind of bonkers.
