Dancing with the Stars Recap: Who Made it to Finale Night?

It’s hard to believe it, but Dancing with the Stars: Athletes is already gearing up for a conclusion.

Episode three found three competitors being sent packing as the stage was set for next week’s big finale, but who danced to the top of the scoreboard on Monday?

Let’s break down all of the performances and find out who exited the series.

Mirai Nagasu and pro Alan Bersten – Quickstep

Mirai and Alan are a match made in dancing heaven. Every single moment of their routine was filled with memorable set pieces, and they showed off that they work very well together.

The true test will be whether viewers have warmed to Mirai because she’s been one of the more polarizing figures on the show.

Judges’ Score: 35/40

Jennie Finch and pro Keo Motsepe – Viennese Waltz

Jennie is not the best performer, but her charisma and chemistry with Keo more than makes up for it. But this is a dancing competition, and there’s no way these two are going to make it all the way to the end.

Judges’ Score: 29/40

Chris Mazdzer and pro Witney Carson – Foxtrot

Chris has been one of the more consistent athletes, but there’s no denying that this week’s performance was a step in the wrong direction.

He works well together with Witney, but there were a few moments that made it look like some parts were less rehearsed than others, and it made them suffer in the scoring department.

Judges’ Score: 33/40

Tonya Harding and pro Sasha Farber – Rumba

Tonya has been steadily improving since the season debuted, and that’s what everyone at home looks for when they are voting. Progression is the key to success, and Tonya is going to garner the votes on that front.

Judges’ Score: 33/40

Adam Rippon and pro Jenna Johnson – Contemporary

Adam has been one to watch ever since this truncated season debuted, and that’s in part due to his finesse when it comes to performing.

The man has overcome every challenging routine set out for him, and he should have no trouble winning the entire competition.

Judges’ Score: 39/40

Josh Norman and pro Sharna Burgess – Contemporary

Like Adam, Josh went with a contemporary routine, and it was not one of his best performances yet. But it was still up there as one of the best of the night.

Judges’ Score: 36/40
