Michael Cohen Flips on Donald Trump, Accuses the President of Federal Crimes

Michael Cohen, who worked for two decades as Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, reached a plea deal today with federal prosecutors in court.

In doing so, the man who has often been referred to as the President’s “fixer” implicated the Commander-in-Chief in two major crimes.

Michael Cohen in a Suit

=

Cohen is now on record as saying “in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office” he acted to keep information that would have been harmful to the candidate and the campaign from becoming public during the 2016 election cycle.

Translation:

Cohen has flipped on his long-time client.

The “candidate” referenced above is very obviously Trump (no one is arguing against this) and the coordinated effort about which Cohen is talking has to do with payments made on Trump’s behalf to a pair of women:

1. Karen McDougal.

2. Stormy Daniels.

Trump allegedly carried on affairs with both of these women and, with Cohen’s assistance, arranged for each to be paid off in order to keep them quiet about the sexual intercourse.

Under regular circumstances, this might not be illegal.

A woman is allowed to sign a contract in which she agrees not to disclose details about nearly anything in exchange for a sum of money.

HOWEVER, Cohen says he was instructed by Trump to make these payments specifically so that news of his affairs would not affect the Presidential election.

The deals were made with the explicit cause of influencing the minds of votes and THAT is what makes them potentially against the law.

“I participated in the conduct for the purposes of influencing the election,” Cohen said about his payments to porn star Daniels and ex-Playboy model McDougal.

Yes, he said this in court.

Yes, it’s safe to assume he will testify to this same charge if he must do so again.

And, yes, it’s possible Cohen has tapes of Trump making various admission and issuing certain directives, since one exchange between the attorney and his former client has already been made public.

It depicts Cohen and Trump discussing the payment that will be made to McDougal.

You can listen to it here:

Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts during his day in court on Tuesday.

The charges against Cohen include:

Tax fraud, false statements to a bank and campaign finance violations tied to his work for Trump… including payments Cohen made or helped orchestrate that were designed to silence women who claimed affairs with the then-candidate.

Regarding the charge linked to Daniels, Cohen said the money “was later repaid to me by the candidate.”

Trump, of course, has denied having knowledge that Cohen paid anyone off on his behalf and has certainly denied ever paying him back.

Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, didn’t shy away from directly calling out the president this afternoon.

“If those payments were a crime for Michael Cohen, then why wouldn’t they be a crime for Donald Trump?” he asked in a statement.

That’s a fair question.

Elsewhere this afternoon, Paul Manafort – President Trump’s former campaign chairman, pictured below – was found guilty on eight counts of financial crimes by a federal jury in Virginia.

This verdict came about as a result of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Manafort faces a maximum of 80 years in jail after being found guilty on five tax fraud counts, two counts of bank fraud and one charge of hiding foreign bank accounts.

For the record now, Trump’s former national security advisor, lawyer and deputy campaign manager have all pleaded guilty to various federal crimes.

His former campaign manager has been convicted of eight felonies.

Can you imagine all that Mueller and his team would uncover if this weren’t a Rigged Witch Hunt?!?

Farrah Abraham: MTV Didn"t Fire Me, But They ARE Committing Hate Crimes!

Farrah Abraham has had a hell of a week.

Just think: she woke up on Monday morning expecting to masturbate for strangers on the internet, but instead she ended up getting fired from a reality show about the aftermath of teen pregnancy.

Honestly, haven’t we all been there?

In a truly bizarre Instagram post she shared on Tuesday, she explained that “Viacom let me go because as a Business Mogul I act like an adult and part take in adult promotions and activities that other adults do for FREE or in private!”

To translate, she claimed she was fired from Teen Mom OG because of her continued involvement in the sex industry.

Farrah also wrote that it was “sad” that “such a phenomenal show will no longer have its biggest talent on the show because of women hating, sex shaming, hate crimes, selfish, Weinstein company power trip behaviors against a professional hard working, honest mother.”

She said that she is proud of herself for “not giving in to be sex shamed by Viacom network” and to not have a network take away financial opportunities for my goals.”

Like always, it was hard to understand exactly what she was trying to communicate, but it seemed like she was saying that she was given an ultimatum: do porn or do Teen Mom, but not both.

After her rant, sources came forward to explain that while the sex stuff is definitely an issue, so is Farrah’s personality.

So many people dislike her, from Teen Mom fans to the poor MTV crews who have to work with her to make Teen Mom.

It’s all been very scandalous … but here’s a plot twist!

In a new message Farrah has shared across all of her social media platforms, as well as in one amazingly nonsensical video she posted on YouTube, she’s now saying that she wasn’t fired at all.

In the video, she says that according to Viacom’s legal team, “I have not been let go, I have not been fired.”

… Wait, what?

Was she lying about being fired? Was MTV lying? Was the whole thing just made up to get some publicity for the upcoming season of Teen Mom OG?

It’s hard to say, because literally nothing Farrah says in this video makes any sense.

At one point, she did refer to “all the accomplists” — we think she’s trying to say “accomplices,” but who can say? — “who are associated with ‘fake firing’ me … for the gain of your own press.”

So it sort of seems like she’s insinuating that someone pretended to fire her to get people talking? Maybe?

Later in the video, she says that she doesn’t need producers, that she can produce herself. She’d be fine with a scripted show or an actual reality show, but the way so many things are “faked” now bothers her.

Going forward, she says that either the production company can change, or she’ll “turn them in.”

“I will not be sex-shamed,” she insists. “I will not be verbally sexually assaulted, I will not deal with any Weinstein company behaviors of power trips, manipulation, with all these accomplices around, trying to screw over talent, manipulate talent.”

“Don’t even waste a penny ordering Teen Mom anything,” she tells viewers, “because it’s not credible, it’s all fake, it’s all contrived, and it’s hurting real human beings. Real children. Real mothers.”

She accuses the people behind the show of committing “hate crimes” against all the Teen Moms, that they instigate fights and manipulates people and situations to get good footage.

She actually throws the whole “hate crimes” thing around a lot, which is a little funny and also a little sad.

In the caption of the video, she does claim that she was “INTERROGATED IN HER OWN HOME” and told that she was fired “SO SHE CAN CHOOSE TO DO HER WEBCAM PROMOTON OR FILM TEEN MOM?”

So apparently she was given an ultimatum — it sounds like she hasn’t officially been fired, since she didn’t go through with her latest “webcam promoton,” but that she’s not really sure about her future with the show.

Will she follow her principles and refuse to continue filming if the crew continues their hate crimes?

Will she suck it up and keep doing the show to get that sweet, sweet Teen Mom money?

Only time — and what’s shaping up to be an incredible season of Teen Mom OG — will tell.

United Airlines Passenger Convicted of Drug Trafficking, Sex Crimes

The passenger who was dragged off a United Airlines flight against his will on Sunday night has been identified.

And he has quite the sordid history.

To be clear up front: This doesn’t make the heinous actions of United, or the tone deaf statements made by United’s CEO, any less heinous or tone deaf.

But this is still a newsworthy follow-up to the original story.

According to TMZ, the 69-year old doctor who refused to give up his seat on this now-infamous United flight is named David Dao.

In 2005, Dao was charged with 98 felony drug counts for illegally prescribing and trafficking painkillers.

Prosecutors claimed at the time that Dao fraudulently and illegally filled prescriptions for hydocodone, Oxycontin and Percocet.

Dao, who a decade later is best known for having his face bloodied (see images above and below) by members of the Chicago Police Department, was also convicted on six felony counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit.

He was given five years probation for these crimes.

But this wasn’t all: Dao was also convicted for writing prescriptions and checks to a patient in exchange for sex.

Based on medical board documents obtained by TMZ, Dao denied paying for sex.

However, the physician indicated he did accept sexual favors from an associate in exchange for reducing a debt that associate owed him. (Editor’s Note: WTF, dude?!?)

In February of 2005, Dao gave up his Kentucky medical license.

TMZ has also dug deep and learned that Dao turned to the professional poker circuit during this time, when he was not permitted to actually work as a doctor.

He started playing at tournaments in July of 2006 and finished second in a 2009 tournament, walking away with more than $ 117,000 as a result.

Overall, Dao banked $ 234,664 in World Series of Poker events over the years.

In 2015, the Kentucky medical board lifted Dao’s suspension and allowed him to practice medicine with a few restrictions; as of last year, he may only practice internal medicine in an outpatient facility one day a week.

Which brings us back to Sunday and United flight 3411.

And this VERY disturbing video:

Dao was randomly selected by the airline after no passengers were willing to accept $ 800 in exchange to take a later flight (because the company overbooked this one and needed four employees to take the spots of passengers who had already paid for their seats).

But he refused to get up from his seat.

Witnesses (one of whom filmed the footage above) claim Dao told United employees that he had patients to attend to early Monday morning and simply could not afford to change his plans.

After attempting to verbally convince Dao to depart the plane, flight attendants contacted other authorities, who eventually dragged Dao away, injuring his face and causing him extreme distress in the process.

Video of this incident quickly went viral, with social media users outraged over Dao’s treatment.

In response, United CEO Oscar Munoz Tweeted his lame apology over the need to “re-accommodate” customers such as Dao.

“Our team is moving with the sense of urgency to work with the authorities and conduct our own detailed review of what happened,” Munoz added.

“We are also reaching out to this passenger to talk directly to him and further address and resolve the situation.”

united comment

We have a feeling it will get resolved.

And the resulting check to Dao will dwarf this controversial doctor’s lifetime poker winnings.

Since the assault (really, what else can we call it?) occurred, United’s stock has fallen by 3.7%; that equates to approximately $ 830 million wiped off its market capitalization.

Many are calling for a boycott of the airline, especially residents of China, who believe Dao was chosen to be kicked off the plane due to his ethnic background.

Mark Cuban has echoed this sentiment and call to action, referring on Twitter to United’s handling of the situation as “appalling” and “sickening” and adding:

“Definitely time to boycott #unitedAIRLINES.”

a plane

Jimmy Kimmel also had a field day with the incident during his monologue last night.

“Imagine if this happened in any other industry,” Kimmel said. “Imagine if this happened at Applebee’s.”

It’s sort of true, right?

Imagine if you made a reservation at Applebee’s and were sitting down for your meal… but then the restaurant said you had to leave because it had booked more reservations that night than there were tables inside the establishment.

That’s the exact same thing that airlines do ALL THE TIME.

Kimmel went on to joke about Munoz’s ridiculous attempt at a mea culpa.

“It’s like when we re-accommodated El Chapo out of Mexico,” Kimmel quipped, before getting more serious.

“That is such sanitized, say nothing, take no responsibility, corporate B.S. speak. I don’t know how the guy who sent that tweet didn’t vomit when he typed it up.”

Seriously.

At least the celebrities featured in the slideshow below actually did some $ hit that earned them a one-way ticket off their airplane ride…
