Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr Clap Back at Parent-Shamers: Unfollow Me!

In May of 2017, Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr announced their pregnancy to fans and to the world. Now, little baby Memphis is just three months old.

And yet both parents are now being parent-shamed for … taking a vacation?

Brittany is hitting back at parent-shamers and telling them to get lost.

After a slew of gorgeous vacation photos (which you can see below), Brittany uploaded what looks like another sweet photo of husband and wife … until you read the captions.

“Much needed vacay. [sun emoji] Just a word of wisdom for all the parent shamers… vacations are ok for new parents to take.”

Sad that she had to make that statement in the first place.

“Sometimes after being pregnant for almost a year, cooped up in a house for weeks at a time, you need a little sunshine and adult time.”

And she sets some boundaries.

“IT IS NOT OK to leave your ignorant comments.”

A lot of celebrities really do see the comments — some of them, anyway. Think before you type, folks.

“If you don’t agree with something, PLEASE… do me a favor and unfollow me. You will NOT be missed [black heart emoji]”

But she gives a shout-out to her most supportive fans.

“And for all the sweet, positive, happy people… we love you and thank you!!”

Sweet baby Memphis (the human pictured) was born on December 1st, 2017. He just crossed the three-month threshold a few days ago.

Bonding time with one’s baby is important.

And, obviously, neglecting a baby in any way would be cruel and inexcusable.

But Jason Aldean and Brittany did not just lock the baby in their house with some loosened jars of baby food in his crib and hope for the best.

Obviously, they left him in capable and loving hands — as many parents do — and took a break for themselves.

They love their child.

In fact, Brittany posted a message about missing him before the two of them had even reached their destination.

Posting a photo of herself looking at a picture of her baby on a plane, she wrote:

“Haven’t even left Nashville and I miss him so much it hurts.” [teal heart emoji]

However, though the comments under that photo were mostly positive, there were negative remarks.

Some were neutrally so, like confessions from other parents who don’t feel like they would have been able to leave their babies for any amount of time.

That’s fine.

Those who decided to lay into Brittany and Jason for “abandoning” their baby … really went overboard.

Some fan comments, however, affirmed that not only was taking a vacation okay (which it is), but that it’s actually a responsible thing to do as parents.

“A healthy, happy parent is a good parent. Take care of you and your relationship!”

And another, on a different vacation photo:

“One of the BEST things you can do for your child is take care of their parents!”

Parents who are emotionally drained or are on edge are more likely to make mistakes or may even grow to resent their own child.

Those who can should absolutely go on vacation.

(When the kids are older, many of them will prefer when the parents go on vacation without them)

This couple went through a lot in 2017, and pregnancy and childbirth were only part of that.

Remember, many of the Vegas shooting victims were Jason Aldean concert-goers. That had a powerful emotional impact on Brittany and Jason.

More than most, these two needed some time off for their overall well-being.

There are countless genuinely bad parents in this world who deserve people’s ire. Not a happy vacationing couple who’ve done nothing wrong to their sweet baby.

If Jason Aldean wears blackface again and teaches his baby that it’s okay, the parent-shamers can feel free to go off. In the mean time, just …. be nicer.

Brittany Kerr and Jason Aldean Mark Emotional Return to Las Vegas

Very tastefully, Saturday Night Live had Jason Aldean on to play a moving tribute to the Las Vegas shooting victims.

Now, his wife marked their somber return to Las Vegas with a powerful photograph.

Remember — Jason and Brittany aren’t just symbols of the shooting because so many victims were Jason’s fans. They themselves are survivors.

First, we have to talk about Brittany’s harrowing experience during the shooting itself.

This was doubly — actually, triple-y scary for Jason Aldean’s wife. She wasn’t just worried about herself or her husband or the crowd.

Brittany Aldean is pregnant, you guys.

In the aftermath of the terrorist shooting, Brittany posted about her experience to Instagram — and it’s clear that her pregnancy and her unborn child loomed heavily in her mind.

“When the gunfire started, I was not with Jason, but with some friends in a tent close to Mandalay.”

As if a shooting isn’t bad enough already — not being with your loved one but knowing that they’re out there is even worse.

“As you can imagine my first instinct was to run to him and his was the same.”

Of course it was!

“As we laid behind equipment onstage with some of our road family, bullets flying past… all I could think was ‘I never even got to hold my baby."”

A terrifying thought.

We get that she’s famous and so some people don’t want to feel sorry for her, but remember that everyone experiences terrorist attacks the same way. It’s a war zone.

“We all made sure the others knew we loved them and then ran for cover where we stayed for the next couple hours. (Not knowing if there were multiple shooters, where the bullets were coming from… NOTHING)”

Remember, we know a lot about the shooter now, but at the time they didn’t even know how many attackers there were.

“We were the lucky ones. I can’t put into words the pain and heartache we feel for the ones who are no longer with us.”

We all understand.

“Took me a while to be able to write these words… thank you to everyone who has reached out to Jason and I… Means the world to us.”

Some people never find the words. And that’s okay.

Now, Jason and Brittany have returned to Vegas and shared a photo that would almost seem innocuous if you didn’t know the context.

Brittany shared this caption:

“Feels surreal being back in Vegas today. Visiting some of the strongest people we have ever met… fighting the toughest battle of them all… for their lives.”

She thanks the fellow survivors in Vegas.

“You have helped us try to begin the healing process by seeing the strength each one of you have. Thank you for today. We will never forget. #vegasstrong”

That’s a moving message.

She kept it short, but that seems appropriate. She’s already shared her experiences. And we’re sure that she doesn’t want to talk over other survivors.

The couple’s response in general has been very encouraging.

Jason Aldean went onto SNL, as we mentioned, to perform Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”

That surprise performance was powerful, emotional, and a very appropriate tribute to the victims — those who made it and those who didn’t.

It’s all part of the long, long healing process.

Quite frankly, though, until we know a lot more about the shooting and resolve some of the public’s unanswered questions, we don’t know how anyone can truly heal.

Jason Aldean: See His Moving Tribute to Las Vegas Shooting Victims

This week must have been unspeakably difficult for Jason Aldean.

He was, of course, the performer on stage at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas when a man decided to open fire on the crowd, killing over 50 people and wounding over 500.

When the gunshots began, he rushed offstage, and he reported soon after that he and his crew were safe, but obviously heartbroken about what had happened.

But as traumatized as he must be, he still managed to make an appearance on last night"s episode of Saturday Night Live.

This week, Jason did the show"s cold open, and instead of the usual skit, he spoke directly to the audience and the cameras.

"This week, we witnessed one of the worst tragedies in American history," he began.

"Like everyone, I"m struggling to understand what happened that night, and how to pick up the pieces and start to heal."

"So many people are hurting. They"re our children, parents, brothers, sisters, friends — they"re all part of our family."

"So I want to say to them, we hurt for you, we hurt with you," he continued. "We can be sure that we"re gonna walk through these tough times together, every step of the way."

Because, Jason said, "When America is at its best, our bond and our spirit, it"s unbreakable."

And then, because his statement wasn"t touching enough, he launched into a song.

The song he decided to play?

"I Won"t Back Down," the incredibly fitting song by the late, great Tom Petty, whose death made this week even tougher than it already was.

Watch Jason"s full speech and performance in the video below:

Las Vegas Shooting: 50 Dead, 200 Wounded at Jason Aldean Concert

At least 50 people are dead and 200 more wounded after a gunman opened fire on a country music festival in Las Vegas Sunday night.

The assailant opened fire with a fully automatic weapon just as Jason Aldean was beginning his show at the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Videos posted on social media show Aldean, one of the biggest names in the genre, singing as very rapid gunfire begins in the background.

He can be seen running from stage as he, and the thousands in the crowd who came to see him, realized the horror of what was happening.

No matter how often these tragedies occur (and it is far too often), one never goes into an event thinking it will happen then or there.

The terror is unimaginable.

In this case, it was also protracted. A gunman continued to rain bullets on the audience for up to two terrifying hours, reports indicate.

Victims ran to safety, according to NBC News, during momentary breaks in the violence, at which point the shooter presumably reloaded.

Many were trapped in the venue for what must have felt like an eternity, but police SWAT officers eventually found and killed the shooter.

He was found on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Casino, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said, and shot dead.

“Right now we believe it’s a solo act, a lone wolf attacker,” Lombardo told reporters. “We are pretty confident there is no longer a threat.”

The gunman has not yet been identified.

Aldean said he was safe in an Instagram post early Monday, sharing an image of the city and asking for prayers for the victims:

“Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still dont know what to say but wanted to let everyone know that Me and my Crew are safe.”

“My Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved tonight,” he wrote, clearly as stunned and traumatized as anyone else.

“It hurts my heart that this would happen to anyone who was just coming out to enjoy what should have been a fun night.”

Aldean’s wife Brittany Kerr posted her own message on Instagram, saying, “We are safe… our angels were definitely watching over us tonight.”

“No words for what happened,” she added.

“Just horrific. Praying for everyone.”

Witness accounts are what you would expect – unable to fully do justice to what happened as you read this, but terrifying nonetheless.

Country star Jake Owen was one of the witnesses, having just finished his set and was still on stage when the shooting started.

“I was crouched down behind a cop car,” he said.

“There was blood on people and you could see a couple of people in the streets that looked like they had been shot,” Owen added.

Ivetta Saldana told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “It was was a horror show. People were standing around, then they hit the floor.”

Robyn Webb, who was at the concert along with her husband last night, told the newspaper, “It just kept coming. It was relentless.”

Authorities, meanwhile, are searching for a 62-year-old woman named Marylou Danly, whom they believe is the gunman’s roommate.

Police have searched a home in Mesquite, Nevada, 85 miles from Las Vegas, where it is believed the gunman lived with Danly.

She is considered a person of interest in the case.

Jason Aldean and Britney Kerr: We"re Pregnant!

Jason Aldean and Britney Kerr have dealt with quite a few bumps throughout the course of their relationship.

But now the controversial couple has something to say about a very different kind of bump, one that signifies a baby is in the way.

Yup: the singers are expecting their first child!

The 40-year old country artist and his former American Idol contestant of a wife made the announcement on Instagram last night.

“SURPRISE!!! WE ARE PREGNANT!!! This was the hardest secret we’ve ever had to keep,” Kerr penned a caption to the photo below.

She added:

“This journey for us has been full of many happy times & also many tears… The biggest rollercoaster we have ever been on, without a doubt! All of the moments of heartache were followed by the biggest blessing in the entire world!!

“We will never take one moment for granted & can’t wait to meet you, sweet baby!!!”

Based on the mixture of pink and blue balloons here, it appears as if the couple has not yet found out their impending baby’s gender.

Said Added Aldean of the exciting personal news:

“Been hard to keep this secret but we couldn’t be happier to add to our family. This year just gets better and better. #bunintheoven.”

Aldean has two daughters, a nine-year old and a 14-year old, from his previous relationship with Jessica Ussery.

He split with her in 2013 after 12 years of marriage after photos emerged of him cheating with Kerr in October of 2013.

With the evidence so glaring, Aldean didn’t try to hide his infidelity. He addressed it head-on in a Facebook message to fans at the time.

“Hey Guys – I wanted to talk to you directly, so you’re hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites,” he wrote.

“The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and I acted inappropriately at a bar.

“I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself.

“I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”

Aldean and Ussery tried to work on their marriage after this scandal broke, but they filed for divorce a few months later.

In April of 2014, Aldean said he didn’t regret any decisions and he urged critics to lay off of him and Kerr.

So sick of people judging me and @brittanylkerr over things they know nothing about. I have made mistakes but i am a better person because of it,” the singer Tweeted at the time.

“I wouldnt change a thing. Im happier than i have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. Its time to move on people.”

And now it’s time for the couple to move on to parenthood. That’s a mighty huge step!

Kerr and Aldean got engaged in September of 2014, with the former writing upon accepting the latter’s proposal:

“My heart has never been more full of happiness and love. Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this man. So many blessings and memories are in our future and SO thankful I get to share them with him.”

Aldean later told People Magazine that he was “down” for having at least one child with Kerr, saying:

“I love kids and being a dad is one of the best things in the world for me.”
