Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer: Back Together! For a Photo at Least!

It’s nearly summer in Alaska.

But that’s not why some ice has apparently thawed in the life of Bristol Palin.

The daughter of former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has shared a photo on Instagram of herself and Dakota Meyer.

Yes, the same Dakota Meyer to whom Palin was engaged last summer… prior to breaking off the engagement mere days before the scheduled wedding… and prior to Bristol then announcing she was pregnant with Meyer’s child.

Actually, Palin did not make this exact announcement.

Full of shame at the time, Palin did confirm she was pregnant for the second time out of wedlock last June.

It was not until this January, in fact, that Meyer actually took a paternity test and we knew once and for all that he is, indeed the father of Palin’s daughter.

Her name is Sailor Grace.

In March, meanwhile, an Alaskan judge ruled that Meyer, who resides in Kentucky, could visit his daughter twice a month for four consecutive days.

A few weeks later, we got our first look at Meyer holding his child.

The photo above, however, is our first look at Meyer and Palin together in a very long time. They are smiling for the camera while little Sailor is held in between them.

“Baby daddy BFF,” Palin wrote as a caption to the image, making it clear that things are going well for this non-traditional family.

The picture was also snapped just a few hours after Bristol’s other former fiance, Levi Johnston, was ordered by a judge to pay $ 61,915.20 in back child support for their seven-year-old son, Tripp.

The 26-year was awarded joint custody of son Tripp in February after filing a petition in 2013.

Back in February, Palin addressed critics with the following post on Instagram:

“Every child deserves two loving parents, so I will continue to encourage that no matter what.

“I have never, and will never, keep them from having a positive relationship with their fathers. I did not ‘lose’ any custody case – my son has always spent most of his time with me and he will continue to do so, he is happy, healthy, and knows both of his parents love him.

“Matthew 5:11.”

Bristol Palin: Read Her Heartbreaking Texts to Ex Dakota Meyer

They called off their wedding in 2015, roughly six months before their daughter, Sailor was born in December.

Now, Dakota Meyer is fighting for a custody agreement with Bristol Palin that will allow him to see his daughter more frequently.

Daily Mail obtained text messages (published for court records) between Palin and Meyer, who served in the Marines, in which the Alaska native wanted her ex to see Sailor more regularly.

“I want you to be a part of her life, from the bottom of my heart I do,” Palin wrote. “There’s nothing on my end holding you back Dakota.  I want you (and your family) to be in her life as much as possible. It’s not about us, and I don’t care if you hate me, put it aside and put her first.”

“I don’t hate you Bristol,” Meyer responded.  “I have no reason too [sic] but my hands are tied when I legally have no right to a child that is mine.”

Meyer, who had to undergo a paternity test when he filed for joint custody and child support, is trying to move things along so that he can see his daughter.

His visitations, however, are limited since Palin is breastfeeding the infant, and the court rules in the mother’s favor since it’s in Sailor’s best interest.

“Yea i don’t want to miss anything either and being busy will never be what keeps me from seeing Sailor,” Meyer wrote to her in another exchange.  

“Hopefully everything gets worked out soon and I can be in her life.”

Meyer will see his daughter for the first time on March 19th, according to court records.

Bristol Palin Forces Ex Dakota Meyer To Take Paternity Test

He finally claimed his newborn daughter, Sailor Grace after months of staying silent.

Now, Dakota Meyer has filed for joint custody and child support, but in order for the case to move forward, Meyer has to take a paternity test.

“It does hurt [to have to prove paternity],” Meyer’s grandmother, Jean told the Daily Mail.

“But that’s just the way the law is – you have to get permission here and permission there.

“I really think Dakota will do the right thing and I think he has a right to that child.”

Though Meyer and Bristol Palin were engaged when she got pregnant, Meyer’s extended family doesn’t know much about Sarah Palin’s daughter.

“I’ve met her but I don’t really know her,” Jean admitted.  “But I helped raise Dakota and I do know him. He’s a strong young man and a good one.

“He will be a father to his child and he’ll be a good one he’s just got to get this girl and the law to agree.”

The Palins are livid that Meyer wants joint custody.

“For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Myers [sic] and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol’s pregnancy or the baby,” Sarah Palin told Entertainment Tonight.

Palin believes Meyer is doing this to “save face.”

Bristol and Meyer met while filming her mom’s show, Amazing America in 2013.   The decorated marine proposed to her last March at a Rascal Flatts concert.  

Their wedding was to take place over Memorial Day weekend, but it was called off just days before.

Dakota Meyer Seeks Joint Custody of Bristol Palin"s Baby

Dakota Meyer has confirmed what the world already suspected:

He is the father of Bristol Palin’s second baby.

But that’s not all.

According to new legal documents, Meyer wants to be the involved father of Bristol Palin’s second baby.

TMZ has obtained documents filed in court by Meyer in which he claims he’s the biological father of three-week-old Sailor Grace; and in which he also asks a judge to award him joint legal and physical custody of the child.

Meyer is also seeking child support from Bristol.

Palin announced that she was pregnant back in June, just a few weeks after calling off her wedding to Meyer and her relationship with the service member.

She has never discussed the identity of her daughter’s father.

“I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you,” Bristol wrote last summer in regard to her having another child out of wedlock.

She is also mom to seven-year-old Tripp, whom she conceived with ex-fiance Levi Johnston.

Palin gave birth to little Sailor on December 23, 2015 and, according to multiple sources, does not plan on including Meyer in the child’s life.

In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, here is what Sarah Palin had to say about Meyer’s custody filing:

“For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Meyer and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol’s pregnancy or the baby.”

Added the former Vice Presidential candidate:

“Paramount to the entire Palin family is the health and welfare of Sailor Grace.”

She concluded that Meyer is just trying to “save face” with this legal maneuver.

Dakota Meyer: Yup, He"s Bristol’s Baby Daddy!

As previously reported, congratulations are in order for Bristol Palin.

The controversial 25-year old became a mother for the second time last week, giving birth to a daughter named Sailor Grace on December 23.

But now it can finally be confirmed that congratulations are also in order for Dakota Meyer, Bristol’s former fiance and long-rumored baby daddy who has, at last, verified this rumor.

He really is the father of tiny little Sailor.

“Best Christmas present ever!!” the U.S. Marine veteran captioned a photo of Palin’s newborn on Facebook over the weekend.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this little blessing.”

Meyer, of course, was engaged to Palin for many months before the latter called off their wedding in May.

About one month later, Bristol (reluctantly) admitted she was pregnant out of wedlock for the second time, telling the world she was pregnant with a sibling for six-year old Tripp.

Despite Meyer’s paternity acknowledgement, however, Bristol’s famous mother, Sarah Palin, has already announced that Sailor Grace’s last name would be Palin.

Meyer recently deleted all mentions and all photos of Bristol from his social media accounts, making it clear that he’s excited to be a father…

… but doesn’t necessarily want any contact with his ex-lover.

According to Sarah Palin, Meyer was NOT in the delivery time at the time Sailor entered the world and it isn’t known at this time just what sort of role Dakota will have in his child’s life.

If any at all.

Dakota Meyer Doesn"t Exactly Miss Bristol Palin

According to multiple outlets, Dakota Meyer is about to become a first-time father.

But instead of focusing on that life-changing fact, the 27-year old has instead chosen to take a jab at his impending baby’s mama on Facebook.

Meyer shared a meme on his social media account last night that reads:

“I know what I bring to the table. Trust me when I say I’m not afraid to eat alone.”

Anyone who has seen Meyer’s plump face really cannot argue with this statement.

Back in May, Palin called off her wedding to Meyer just a few days before the couple were scheduled to walk down the aisle.

Sarah Palin herself confirmed the split on Facebook, writing at the time:

“Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding.

“They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned will not be held.”

No reason was ever given for the break-up, but Bristol then revealed her second pregnancy just a couple weeks later.

She is yet to confirm Meyer as the child’s father, but the strong assumption across the Internet is that Palin’s ex-fiance is the one who placed a bun in her oven.

Meyer, however, has deleted all photos and mentions of Bristol from March 2015 to the present.

So the two are clearly not on the same page these days. Which is a shame if they really are going to be the parents of a little girl.

Palin, of course, is already the mother of 6-year-old son Tripp with ex Levi Johnston. She plans on raising both kids on her own.
