Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra Reflect on Adoption Nine Years Later

Despite the theories spun by Teen Mom fans, Tyler Batlierra is not leaving Catelynn Lowell. They have another baby on the way!

They gave up their first child for adoption.

In this new Teen Mom OG sneak peek, Tyler and Catelynn grapple with the bittersweet occassion that is their firstborn"s birthday.

"It"s been almost a year since we"ve seen our daughter, Carly," Catelynn says in a voiceover.

"But today is her birthday," Catelynn narrates. "It"s usually a hard day for us, so we always try to celebrate it in a positive way."

There are a couple of awkward moments as they eat their salads before they speak on the phone to Dawn, their adoption counselor.

They talk about Nova and her ability to understand that it"s Carly"s birthday.

Nova, of course, is only three years old, so immediately asked when the party would be, and if they would have cake and ice cream.

Dawn suggests that they send a Nova video to Carly, and Tyler says that it"s already in the works.

The conversation, which had so far been lighthearted, turns more serious.

Dawn praises Catelynn and Tyler, telling them how proud she is of how they"re taking this milestone in stride.

Adoption can be a difficult process for everyone involved, even though no one questions that they made the right decision.

And the two of them have really made great progress in handling the situation with a healthy perspective.

As Tyler admits when Dawn comes over to speak to them in person, he and Catelynn weren"t always so chill about it.

"I think some of our old expectations were unrealistic," Tyler admits.

"Like, [we] signed our rights off," he says, referring to signing away their parental rights nine years ago.

"A couple of years ago," Tyler confesses. "I was on the other side."

By which he means that he felt entitled to parental rights that he does not possess.

Tyler gives an example: "I was like, ‘You wouldn’t be parents if it weren’t for me.’"

"It’s acceptance of what role I really play in this child’s life and this family’s life," Tyler says of his current perspective.

Dawn, their adoption counselor, knows that Carly"s birthday is a big deal.

She walks them through how they might speak to Carly"s parents.

"If I can advise you in any way," Dawn says. "I would say a soft landing would be a good thing."

Dawn suggests: "Maybe starting a conversation with, ‘What’s Carly doing today? How are things going with her at school?’"

"You love to brag about Nova," Dawn notes. "She’s gonna love to brag about Carly."

Dawn concludes: “I think that’s gonna be an easier entry into a conversation."

Tyler and Catelynn then speak about the various traumas that they have experienced.

While most of Catelynn"s PTSD arises from her childhood, as is most often the case, it"s not the only source.

The adoption that she and Tyler went through as teens was another trauma in her life.

That is very understandable. Being conscious of that can be tremendously helpful.

Catelynn"s miscarriage, she says, was a trigger for a lot of that trauma to resurface in her mind.

Catelynn and Tyler have demonstrated more personal and emotional growth than a lot of their co-stars.

We"re not going to pretend that either of them are perfect.

If they didn"t have flaws, they wouldn"t work as reality stars.

But they"ve really worked hard on themselves and on their relationship.

That deserves some recognition.

Anthony Scaramucci: Here"s Why His Wife Filed for Divorce While Nine Months Pregnant!

Anthony Scaramucci, who despite his name and disposition and mannerisms is somehow neither a one-off Law & Order character nor a gangster who got on Batman’s bad side, is now Communications DIrector at the Trump White House.

You know, the guy who says that Steve Bannon wants to blow himself. That’s just where we are, as a nation, in 2017.

Anthony Scaramucci’s political career might be on the rise … after a fashion … but his home life isn’t going so well. His wife, Deidre Ball, filed for divorce from him while nine months pregnant. We have some new details to share with you.

Remember last Monday, when Trump gave a fiery political speech to the Boy Scouts Jamboree where he used his usual judgment and regailed the crowd of children with references to hedonistic sex yachts?

Well, Anthony Scaramucci was there with him.

Deidre Ball, on the other hand, was in an Upper East Side hospital giving birth.

It wasn’t until Friday evening that Anthony saw the baby, though the couple had reportedly wanted him to be able to be there.

As we all know, no stage of pregnancy is cooperative to other people’s schedules, and childbirth is no exception.

Deidre had actually filed divorce papers on July 6th,

It’s been widely reported that a major factor in Deidre’s decision to split from Scaramucci was her husband’s willingness to work for Donald Trump, making Deidre instantly relatable and likable in the eyes of most Americans.

We need to be careful, though, about jumping to conclusions (especially when that just means believing things that fit our worldviews).

It sounds like there’s more to this story.

According to Page Six‘s source, the Scaramucci marriage had a number of problems.

We also know exactly what he texted her last Monday:

“When James was born, he sent her a text saying, ‘Congratulations, I’ll pray for our child.’”

Hey, that’s better than just texting: “Gratz,” which we feel would have also fit his brand.

“There was discussion between him, her and the divorce attorneys about Anthony going to the hospital and unfortunately … the delivery was sudden.”

Like we said, that’s how childbirth goes.

The source added that Deidre’s anger was a factor in the split.

“There’s been … a lot of lies.”

That’s vague as hell, right?

It doesn’t sound like cheating was necessarily one of them, as Anthony Scaramucci’s rep denies that pretty categorically.

“The only one he’s dating right now is the West Wing of the White House.”

There’s an image.

Also, apparently Anthony and Deidre separated earlier this year.

Honestly, as much as we’d like to imagine that Deidre ended an otherwise happy marriage solely after Anthony Scaramucci’s willingness to work for an unstable orange, it sounds like there was more to it.

“She’s mad. They aren’t really speaking right now. The [pain] runs deep. [Anthony] tells her she’s not that smart, that he’s out of her league.”

Ugh, we’ve heard of relationships like this.

Disparaging remarks like that are part of toxic relationships that should never continue.

They can also be part of emotional abuse.

However, “emotional abuse” is sometimes over-used, as one of Anthony’s friends told Page Six that Deidre lashed Anthony with verbal abuse.

“She would say, ‘You’re a grifter, you’re this.’ She would mock him for being a Trump sycophant.”

Well … if the shoe fits, right?

Deidre’s lawyer has denied that Scaramucci’s “political ambition” was the cause of their divorce, citing “personal reasons.”

She’s trying to avoid a media circus because of their children, so don’t expect her to go public and put Scaramucci on blast any time soon, you know?

So … there’s probably a lot about this couple that we don’t know.

And that we won’t know, unless this amicable divorce turns really, really ugly.

Scaramucci’s hiring prompted Sean Spicer’s resignation, a sad day for Melissa McCarthy but a happy day for mini-fridges throughout the White House.

Scaramucci has since been purging the White House of employees, including Rinse the Prius … sorry, Reince Priebus … making Priebus the shortest serving White House Chief of Staff in US History.

(Fun fact: several years ago, Trump blasted Obama on Twitter for going through multiple Chiefs of Staff in just a few years, so shout out to whichever witch cursed Trump to have to live out his old tweets)

Basically, Scaramucci seems to cause division wherever he goes, whether it’s at home or at work.

In light of that history, it will be interesting to see how long he sticks around in that crumbling quagmire of an administration.

The Voice Recap: Nine Will Enter, Only Four Will Survive

After three consecutive weeks of The Voice results that saw this fall’s Top 12 whittled down to nine, things are about to get real on NBC.

Of the nine singers who gave it their all Monday night, only FOUR will move on Tuesday when the results are announced. High stakes.

Barrett Baber (Team Blake) sang “Ghost” by Ella Henderson, giving it a country-soul flavor and possibly punching his ticket to the next round.

Shelby Brown (Team Adam) sang “Even God Must Get the Blues” by Jo Dee Messina. She sounded awesome, but will it stand out with voters?

Jeffery Austin (Team Gwen) chose “Believe” by Cher. Talk about going for broke with one of more more iconic artists out there. Will it pay off?

Braiden Sunshine (Team Gwen) picked “Amazing Grace.” He was terrific, though it remains to be seen if this will help him leapfrog five others.

Zach Seabaugh (Team Blake) pulled out “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus, again bringing energy and stage presence along with surprising versatility.

Madi Davis (Team Pharrell) took on “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by The Four Seasons. An understated but strong performance, it should keep her in this thing.

Emily Ann Roberts (Team Blake) was next with “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton. She was out of her comfort zone but she had fun, and it was a good thing.

Amy Vachal (Team Adam) belted out “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele. And she made it her own, even in a similarly stripped-down arrangement.

Jordan Smith (Team Adam) went with “Somebody to Love” by Queen, and his big, bold effort combined with his range brought the house down.

What did you think of the semifinal round? Who is destined to make it to the final four, and which five singers will be out of here? Discuss.

The Voice Results: Who Made the Final Nine?

Following Monday’s Top 10 performances, millions of viewer votes and the always dramatic Instant Save, The Voice is down to its final nine.

Like the previous two weeks, only one singer bid farewell Tuesday. Next week the field will not be so lucky when FIVE will go home at once.

It was no surprise that Korin Bukowski of Team Gwen, having already survived a pair of Instant Save rounds, would need to do so yet again.

In the Bottom Two along with her was Braiden Sunshine, whose effort Monday night also failed to gain enough traction on iTunes afterward.

Viewer votes are multiplied after a certain iTunes threshold, so in a way, the proof was in the pudding for Korin. Would she survive Tuesday?

She belted out Colbie Caillat’s “Try” in her own valiant try for one last chance, while Sunshine performed Maroon 5’s “Harder To Breathe.”

Bukowski forgot some lyrics, which could not have helped her chances, and Braiden Sunshine earned a spot in the final nine of Season 9.

Adam Levine’s Jordan Smith, Amy Vachal and Shelby Brown, and Blake Shelton’s Emily Ann Roberts, Barret Baber, and Zach Seabaugh advanced.

Pharrell Williams is still down to just Madi Davis, while Stefani is left with Jeffery Austin and Sunshine heading into next week’s HUGE event.

Who among these nine will make the final four?

What do you think? Did America get it right with The Voice results for the Season 9 top 10? Or should Korin still be out there battling?
