Chris Hardwick: Ousted from Nerdist Amist Sexual Misconduct Charges

We hate to say it, but…

Yep, him too.

In the wake of horrifying accusations against Chris Hardwick, Nerdist Industries – the content company founded this television host and personality – has severed all ties with the comedian.

The breaking news comes about one day after actress Chloe Dykstra accused an ex-boyfriend (who she did not name, yet who everyone assumed to be Hardwick) of abhorrent behavior during her time dating him.

“Chris Hardwick had no operational involvement with Nerdist for the two years preceding the expiration of his contract in December 2017,” said the company via statement on Friday, adding:

“He no longer has any affiliation with Legendary Digital Networks.

“The company has removed all reference to Mr. Hardwick even as the original Founder of Nerdist pending further investigation.”

Nerdist also posted the following message on Twitter, which aims to assist those who have been a victim of abuse.

ch statement

In an essay written on Medium titled “Rose-Colored Glasses: A Confession,” Chloe Dykstra, a 29-year old actress who is the daughter of an ex-baseball player, outlined an allegedly abusive relationship with an unnamed ex-boyfriend that she endured in her early ’20s.

During this romance, Dykstra claims she suffered “long-term abuse,” sexual assault and career blacklisting.

Early in this relationship, Dykstra (pictured below) alleged that there were “rules” established by her lover that she had to follow, including reserving her nights for him… not having close male friends… not drinking alcohol … and not talking in public places out of fear people were listening due to his celebrity.

She wrote in this essay that, after the two started dating, she once turned down sex because she wasn’t feeling well.

Simple and understandable, right?

Not to this man.

“He responded, ‘I just want to remind you, the reason my last relationship didn’t work out was because of the lack of sex.’ It was a veiled threat. I succumbed,” she wrote, expounding:

“Every night, I laid there for him, occasionally in tears. He called it ‘starfishing.’ He thought the whole idea was funny.”

Totally and completely disgusting.

Again, Dykstra did not name Hardwick.

However, she Liked the Tweet of an Internet user who linked to her her story with the caption, “Chris Hardwick is trash.”

In her essay, the actress also explains that she was referring to a man nearly 20 years older who went from “a podcaster to a powerhouse CEO of his own company.”

This is a picture of Hardwick with Dykstra:

I made the choice to accept his controlling behavior, as he’d just left his long-term girlfriend and I assumed that he was going through some serious emotional discomfort,” she wrote.

“This was a huge mistake.”

Dykstra wrote about that she pondered suicide multiple times and had reached the lowest point in her life when she was looking over the 101 freeway while standing on an overpass.

After three years, she ultimately left Hardwick for someone else.

In response, she claimed this boyfriend contacted companies she worked with to get her fired by threatening to never work with them.

Moreover, she said an unnamed woman she had trusted helped destroy her friendships.

At 25 years old, Dykstra said she was blacklisted.

Chloe ended her post by saying she is now in a “much better place” and:

“This story, post, whatever this is, serves as both closure for me as I say farewell to my twenties and stumble my way into my thirties, and it serves as a warning for every single one of you, regardless of gender…

“Please, please, keep an eye out for those red flags.”

Hardwick has not yet responded to this story.

He’s the latest in a long line of celebrities to be accused of sexual harassment, assault or misconduct.

We’ve listed many of them below:

Matt Lauer FINALLY Ousted From Home by Annette Roque

In the wake of Matt Lauer’s firing from NBC and the horrifying revelations about his behavior, his marriage has fallen apart.

For months now, Annette Roque has wanted Lauer out of her house. Now, it’s reported that he’s finally moved out.

But Roque apparently had to take drastic measures.

Us Weekly reports that Matt Lauer has moved out, at long last.

But their source reveals that he wasn’t exactly eager to go.

“Getting him to move out was quite daunting because Matt was refusing to leave.”

Despite Lauer and Roque’s divorce being underway, it sounds like he didn’t want to budge from the family residence.

And he apparently had one reason for dragging his heels.

“It was all about Matt, who expressed concern about how it would look to the media in the wake of being fired by NBC.”

As absurd as it sounds that he could be preoccupied with his public image, despite everything, that does fit in with reports that he believes that he has a second chance at his career.

The insider continues, saying that Lauer seems to not understand how all of this is hurting his family.

“Annette was simply at a loss for words because she had hoped that he would recognize this was best for her and the kids.”

Ultimately, she had to take drastic measures. The source says that she had to threaten legal action — which finally got him to pack his bags.

“Matt will always be more concerned about public perception and obviously doesn’t want to make headlines for being forced out of the house.”

It’s so sad to hear that he cares more about his image than about right and wrong.

Even with his departure, he’ll still be part of the lives of their children.

“Annette told him that there would never be any limitations on access to their kids.”

But things between the divorcing spouses are different. The source reports that they hardly communicate anymore.

“It’s minimal on good days.”

And the source continues, saying:

“But mostly nonexistent.”

All things considered, very few can blame Roque for not wanting to speak to the man who cheated on her. And adultery is the least of his alleged wrongdoings.

There have been reports that say that, despite everything, Matt Lauer believes that he can make a comeback.

Sure, most would like to believe that the man accused of multiple affairs, sexual harassment visited upon his subordinates, and of raping a woman in his office is as broken and ashamed as some have claimed.

But considering that Lauer reportedly used NBC as a hunting ground for years, going so far as to have a remote lock installed for his office door, it’s easy to believe that his worldview is so divorced from reality that he thinks that he can have a career again.

Perhaps he is thinking of the long history of men accused of doing evil, unforgivable things who somehow continue to have careers.

Convicted rapist Mike Tyson has his own show on Adult Swim. Woody Allen keeps making movies to critical acclaim. Chris Brown is still selling music. Johnny Depp is starring in the new Harry Potter movies.

But as much as those men are despised by many people, they weren’t exposed during the #MeToo movement. Matt Lauer was. Many hope that this will make the difference, and that he’ll never be able to claw his way back into social acceptance.

Contrary to what the reviled former NBC host might like to believe, Today is doing just fine without Matt Lauer.

In fact, ratings are higher than they’ve been in 5 years.

It’s possible that, one day, people will wax nostalgic about how awkwardly charming they found Lauer when he covered the Olympics and will be willing to forget what he was doing to his colleagues when the cameras weren’t running.

At the moment, however, many people familiar with the allegations against him don’t even want to look at him.

Annette Roque and her children are better off without having to share their home with him.

Peggy Sulahian: Also Ousted from The Real Housewives of Orange County!

Calling all rich and spoiled women who want to be sort of famous on television:

Bravo has a couple of opening for you!

Fresh off the news that Lydia McLaughlin would not be returning for a new season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Bravo has now announced another cast departure…

We hardly even knew ya, Peggy Sulahian.

Following just one year on this cable network franchise, Sulahian has been let go by producers, who apparently weren’t pleased with Peggy’s role on Season 12.

Over the course of her brief run on the series, which culminated in Sulahian basically hiding out alone in her Iceland hotel room, the Z-Lister bonded with Vicki Gunvalson…

… while fighting with basically every other cast member.

“What an exciting experience it was to be part of The Real Housewives of Orange County! It was an honor to be the 100th housewife and to be part of the Bravo family,” wrote on BravoTV.com in response to this news.

She added:

“I am extremely proud of being the 1st Armenian-American Housewife and sharing my culture with the world.

“While I faced and conquered many challenges, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my story and spread awareness of breast cancer.”

Sulahian went on to say that this breast cancer diagnosis is what prompted her to resign from the show, claiming she is leaving on her own terms.

“Dealing with the disease and the passing of my father challenged me to reassess and reflect on my life, and I’ve realized what’s most important is leading a healthy and happy life, surrounded by people who care and love you.

“At this point, moving on seemed like the right thing to do.

“A few new ventures have availed themselves, and I look forward to sharing them with you soon!”

Radar Online, however, counters that both Sulahian and McLaughlin (pictured below) were fired by executives – and that both women were among the last to even learn their fate.

According to this report, Peggy was told by her friends and by the network simultaneously that she was on her way out.

Similarly, McLaughlin released a statement last Friday that made it sound as if she quit.

In reality, though, she only said these words to save face after being told that she wasn’t wanted back.

Peggy is looking forward to focusing on her family and her own opportunities. She is a very positive person and wants to be away from the negativity of the women,” an insider tells E! News, adding:

“Peggy is big on positive energy and wants that around her and her family.”

Sulahian and McLaughlin’s departures come on the heels of Meghan King Edmonds also leaving the show.

This means the only ladies set to return right now are Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd.

Prepare for a few casting announcements to be made by Bravo in the near future as a result.

Have anyone in mind you think should join the team?
