The Four Recap: Who Made Meghan Trainor Cry?

It’s hard to believe that The Four Season 1 is almost over.

With the end in sight, the panelists are thinking about the long-term prospects for each of the performers, and that means it’s getting more difficult than ever to challenge the contestants who just so happen to be in the seats of power.

Zhavia, Jason Warrior, Rell Jerv and Tim Johnson Jr. were the lucky four, but how many of them remained the process at the end of the episode?

Let’s break down the performances, and how they influenced the battle for stardom.

Nicolina

Nicolina went with “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers, and it was nothing to write home about. It was average, at best, and the panel seemed to think so.

You’re not better than the four,” DJ Khaled said as the others nodded in agreement with him.

Ravaughn

Ravaughn was a background singer from Glee who emerged from a two-year hiatus from the world of music to participate on The Four.

She performed “Sorry Not Sorry” by Demi Lovato, and boy, it was a real treat. The artist put her own spin on the song, and successfully set it apart from Lovato’s summer jam.

The panelists were happy to vote her through, and she opted to challenge Warrior. Warrior went with “Titanium,” and it was the type of performance you would expect from him.

It was well-executed and was considerably more polished than that of his challenger. The studio audience voted, and Warrior came out on top with a vote of 1%.

Edi Callier

Edi was a different kind of performer. He had a backstory that would make anyone cry, but his rendition of “Jealous” lacked luster.

It was a one-note affair, and certainly not what the panelists were looking for at this stage of the game. He was sent home.

Nick Harrison

Next up, Nick rapped away to Diddy’s “Bad Boy For Life,” and he won a lot of praise from the panelists. It was a different sound to what they have been given in the competition.

He advanced to the next stage and chose to battle Jerv. Harrison was given the power to take Jerv’s seat thanks to the studio audience.

Yes, this game is going for the jugular at this stage, and it’s pretty exciting for viewers at home.

Josh Wyper

For fans complaining about the lack of country presence on the show, Josh was here to quell those fears. He went with “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton.

However, his country vocals did not wow the panelists, and he was not allowed to go head-to-head to with any of the four.

Kendyle Paige

Kendyle went with “Me, Myself & I” by G-Eazy and Bebe Rexha and it was a slick performance. She knew going into the competition that she wanted to take Zhavia’s seat.

This presented a problem for the panelists because they felt Zhavia was the better of the two and did not want her challenged. After back and forth, they allowed her to go ahead with it.

Kendyle unseated Zhavia after the audience voted her into power. Meghan Trainor was brought to tears by the whole thing because she was big on Zhavia.

So, there’s that. That’s how quickly the tide can change on this show.

What did you think of the latest developments?

The Four continues Thursdays on Fox.

Meghan Trainor Pays Tribute to Christina Grimmie

Meghan Trainor is one of several musicians who have taken a few moments in the past few days to honor Christina Grimmie.

The 22-year old singer was tragically shot and killed after a concert on Friday night.

She had just finished a set when a crazed fan named Kevin James Loibl opened fire on Grimmie backstage during a meet-and-greet.

According to multiple reports, Grimmie’s brother wrestled Loibl to the ground and likely saved many other lives in the process, with Loibl turning a gun on himself at one point and taking his own life.

Grimmie was a contestant on The Voice and her fellow artists have been inundating the Internet ever since her passing with thoughts, prayers, condolences and videos.

Selena Gomez, a long-time friend of Grimmie’s, broke down during a dedication to Christina, for example.

And now we have Trainor, who took to the stage on Saturday at BLI’s Summer Jam in Wantagh, New York.

The singer dedicated her performance of “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” to the late singer at the tour stop. See it below:

“So if you will please sing it with me as a shoutout to our girl Christina,” Trainor told those in attendance. “This one’s for her. Let’s sing nice and loud.”

In response to this tragedy, a GoFundMe page has raised over $ 125,000 on behalf of Grimmie’s family.

Grimmie’s brother, meanwhile, has released the following statement:

“I really don’t have much to say about anything and am just blown away with the prayers and support.

“Christina was more than my sister. She was a partner in life. A superstar. A goofball. Introverted. And a friend to everyone. Genuinely. But above all … she was my baby sister.

“She loved the Lord and her family and was always there for me and I honestly don’t know what I’ll do without her.”

We send our condolences to Michael Grimmie and the entire family.

Meghan Trainor Takes a Tumble After "Me Too" Performance On Tonight Show

Meghan go BOOM.

Everything was going great for Grammy winner Meghan Trainor, 22, at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on May 12th.

The Nantucket native performed her new single, "Me Too," a catchy little number that featured dancers, sequins and silver platforms.

Those effing platforms.

As the song ended, Trainor tripped over said platforms and went ass-over-tea-kettle, landing on the floor of studio 6b"s stage.

It was fine, though, because host Jimmy Fallon approached the stage, hovered over Trainor to make sure she was still conscious, then – ever the gentleman – he got down on the floor with her.

"Might have fell down," Trainor tweeted after, "but I KILLLED that sh-t hahaha.

"#keepinitreal thank you @fallontonight."

Fans asked Trainor if she was alright on Twitter, and she assured them she A-OK.

"Haha I didn"t feel it till hours later," she wrote.

"I"m all good tho. Barely a scratch."

Earlier this week, Trainor had her music video pulled from the web because she felt she looked too Photoshopped.

"Hey guys, I took down the ‘Me Too" music video because they Photoshopped the crap out of me and I"m so sick of it and I"m over it," Trainor explained on May 10th.

"So I took it down until they fix it."

She explained to fans her anger over the video"s publication without her say-so.

"My waist is not that teeny," Trainor told fans Via Snapchat.

"I had a bomb waist that night, I don"t know why they didn"t like my waist. I didn"t approve that video and it went out to the world so I"m embarrassed."

So, who was to blame for the makeover?

"Not my team. My team is the best. I don"t hate my team," Trainor said.

"I hate people who edit and Photoshop. I have an anthem about it. Check it out. It"s called "All About That Bass" off that first album."

Meghan Trainor Pulls Music Video Due to "Photoshop Crap"

For the record, Meghan Trainor is all about that bass.

We’ve known this about the singer ever since she came into our lives a couple years ago.

But now we also know something else about the fun-loving artist:

She is NOT all about that Photoshop.

Not at all. Not even one tiny bit.

Trainor – who is one of Hollywood’s leading voices when it comes to self-confidence and pro-body issues – has actually pulled her latest music video off the Web because she’s so unhappy with the changes made to it.

Explained the admirable singer on Instagram, regarding a video that went live online early Monday morning:

“Hey guys, I took down the ‘Me Too’ music video because they Photoshopped the crap out of me and I’m so sick of it and I’m over it.

“So I took it down until they fix it.”

Pretty awesome of her, huh?

Trainor is placing her personal beliefs over her career in this case. How many celebrities out there would do such a thing?

“My waist is not that teeny,” Trainor added.

“I had a bomb waist that night. I don’t know why they didn’t like my waist but I didn’t approve of that video and it went out for the world so I’m embarrassed.”

So who, exactly, is Trainor blaming for this major slip-up?

Not those closest to her, she insists.

“Not my team. My team is the best. I don’t hate my team. I hate people who edit and Photoshop. I have an anthem about it. Check it out. It’s called ‘All About That Bass’ off that first album.”

That’s the album that helped Trainor win Best New Artist at the 2016 Grammys.

Her follow-up album comes out on May 13.

And she wants everyone to know that she’s proud of her latest music video effort… just not of what happened to it in post-production.

“The video is still one of my favorite videos I’ve ever done. I’m very proud of it,” she said on Snapchat.

“I’m just pissed off that they broke my ribs. You know?”

Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth: The AMA Makeout Session!

Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth took to the stage at the 2015 American Music Awards and performed their hit song "Marvin Gaye."

But it wasn"t the duo"s dancing or its note-hitting that got the attention of all who tuned in for this ceremony on ABC.

It was their spit-swapping!

At one point during the duet, Trainor called Puth over and the game of tonsil hockey began. But this wasn’t just a short little smooth. There were open mouths. There was clearly tongue. There was Puth grabbing his partner’s rear end, which was clad in a painted-on glittery sheath dress.

There was serious hotness attached to this makeout session.

It wasn"t even that Puth and Trainor had never kissed before: an outtake of their previously intense on-stage smooch made the viral rounds back in August after the release of Puth"s video for "Marvin Gaye."

What made this kiss so memorable, however, was its passion… and its duration..

Following the embrace, Luke Bryan won the American Music Awards for Favorite Male Country Artist.

Unsure how to follow the love birds" act, Bryan remarked:

"I"m still laughing at that Charlie and Meghan getting it on with a little smooch. It kept rolling after the commercial break."

HA! We wouldn"t doubt it actually.

See the stars get to first base and nearly beyond in front of millions of viewers now.
