Grey"s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 3 Recap: Oh, Baby?

Oh… baby?

It certainly appeared as if Jo would have some bug news for Alex on Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 3, at least according to the way ABC promoted this installment.

And early on in the hour, Jo did seem to confide in Stephanie that she’s pregnant.

She then asked Alex, out of nowhere, whether he wanted to have kids and got angry when he hesitated with his response.

With his personal life confusing and maddening, Alex was treating newborn twins with liver cancer in his professional life.

The father was a donor match, but that only helped one child. Because these was no way for the parents to decide which baby lived and which died, Alex said he could make the call.

That night, we learned Jo is NOT actually pregnant. Instead, she found papers that clued her in to Alex’s frozen embryos… with Izzie. Wow, an Izzie reference!

Jo was clearly upset, thinking Izzie was the woman with whom Alex really wanted to have children and that left her as the woman with whom maybe he just wanted to have a dog or something.

Back at work, things weren’t any better. Unable to save both kids, Alex held the dying baby until he flatlined (and until we cried our eyes out).

Arizona was at least able to save the other baby and then Alex went home to tell Jo he was ready to have kids if that’s what she wanted.

Elsewhere, Jackson tried to kick April out… and failed? That’s right, he returned home that night to a home-cooked meal and to the news that his wife was not giving up on them.

After arguing about whether she was committed to their marriage or whether she needed to be committed, Jackson moved on to go crash at Bailey and Ben’s place.

Meanwhile, Callie and Amelia encouraged Meredith to renegotiate her bad contract (which she did in the end, much to Bailey’s delight because she wanted to see Meredith step up).

Maggie didn’t really chime in, though, because she was questioning her life choices after being invited to Ethan’s wedding.

Finally, Maggie went up and kissed Andrew… and, based on this preview for Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 Episode 4, it looks like they did not stop at first base:

Leah Messer: So Hurt By Corey Simms, Miranda Patterson Tag-Teaming Her on Teen Mom 2!

Tension between Leah Messer and Corey Simms on the Teen Mom 2 reunion was palpable, and sources say it has not died down since the taping.

The confrontation between Simms, his ex-wife Leah Messer and Miranda Patterson – his current, pregnant wife – was the culmination of a lot of things.

Things that made it awkward to watch Teen Mom 2 online, honestly.

An emotional and dramatic reunion between the three came after a season in which fans saw Leah struggle with a serious mental health disorder.

And/or a prescription drug addiction. It was never explicitly clear.

In any case, the reunion also followed rumors that Corey banged Leah in his truck while meeting to discuss the kids – and while married to Miranda.

“Things happened that shouldn’t have happened and it was disrespectful to Miranda and I have apologized,” Messer admitted on the reunion.

“That’s the only time,” she insists, “that I disrespected her.”

But Simms and Patterson were a united front throughout the episode, and basically used it to blame and sabotage Leah at every opportunity.

An inside source tells Us Weekly of the West Virginia mom:

“She is really hurt by this. She’s not perfect and she knows that but she’s been doing so well, and she loves those kids more than anything.”

“Leah’s considering putting Gracie and Ali into therapy.”

The source also notes that despite her problems, Messer has been unfairly scrutinized and edited, and is trying hard to get her life back on track.

“Leah is doing great. She has actually grown as a person,” the source says. “Leah is not on pills right now. She’s not on drugs. She’s doing so well.”

The source adds that Messer has even gotten support from her second ex-husband Jeremy Calvert, despite what Teen Mom 2 might imply.

“Like Corey and Jeremy would ever set up a time to sit and chat. That’s all production,” the source says. “Jeremy knows she’s a good mom.”

Does he, though? And is she, though? You tell us …

Jessie James Decker Shares, Defends Stunning Breastfeeding Photo

Jessie James Decker is a singer, songwriter, designer and wife of an NFL star. Most importantly of all, she says, she’s a mother of two.

The 27-year-old has also been a vocal advocate for breastfeeding, and certainly displayed this in a stunning photo posted to Instagram Thursday:

In the selfie, the “Lights Down Low” singer cuddles up with her 5-week-old Eric Thomas as he nurses. She captioned the photo simply:

“Love being a mommy and feeding my sweet boy.”

Decker has often expressed her love for nursing, saying she was looking forward to the bonding time again with her second child.

Her daughter, Vivianne Rose, is 18 months old.

“I really loved breastfeeding the first time around,” she told American Baby. “It’s such a wonderful, intimate thing to share with your child.”

“I remember that full, happy look Vivianne would get when she was done,” she adds. “I also love all the cuddling during the baby stage.”

What she doesn’t love? The online backlash.

“Here’s a closer look to those accusing me of ‘posing’ for this,” she wrote. “Here’s a shot I took before but thought was maybe too visual.”

“Now I don’t care. Enjoy #normalizebreastfeeding”

Nothing posed or left to the imagination about that.

Defending moms who love to capture these picture-perfect moments of nursing, James Decker said she doesn’t understand the big deal.

Why are those selfies deemed unacceptable, she wonders, while “half-naked” girls like Kylie Jenner on social media are applauded.

“In photos of me nursing, there’s probably less cleavage than what I’ve shown on the red carpet,” the stunning “Lights Down Low” singer explained.

Moreover, it may look easy, but it’s anything but:

“Sharing breastfeeding photos online is a good example for other women who want to nurse. Nursing is hard. It doesn’t always come easy.”

“We need to support each other.”

Kim Zolciak to Undergo Heart Surgery

Things have gone from bad to possibly much worse for Kim Zolciak.

The mother of six, who was dropped from Dancing with the Stars this season after suffering a stroke, revealed yesterday on Extra that she must undergo heart surgery as a result of this condition.

“I have one of the top cardiologists in the country who’s amazing,” Zolciak said, adding that she’s already scheduled the procedure and saying:

“Anything that has to do with you heart and brain is pretty scary, but heck, I’ve been through it. I’m okay.”

Zolciak says she has been living with this issue since birth.

Her stroke was caused by a blood clot that traveled to the opposite side of her body due to a valve that never closed when she was in the womb and the upcoming surgery will correct the hole.

Not long after being sent packing, Zolciak petitioned to remain on Dancing with the Stars.

Program rules prohibit her return as a competitor, but she is expected to make an appearance on the season finale.

“It was a blessing in disguise,” Zolciak told Good Morning America soon after her stroke hospitalization on September 22.

“The minor TIA revealed that I have a PFO, which is like a hole in your heart. I was born with it and it never closed. That’s what caused it, basically.”

Kim now says she’s “feeling great” and we send her our best wishes for a speedy, full recovery.
