Montrell Jackson: Slain Baton Rouge Cop Posts Emotional Message Prior To Shootings

He was a ten-year veteran on the police force, and just welcomed a baby boy.

Montrell Jackson, 32, was one of the three officers killed in a July 18th Baton Rouge shooting.

Jackson’s former colleague Marcus Tillman told NBC News that he had spoken to Jackson after the shooting of Alton Sterling earlier this month.

Jackson was so distraught over the ordeal that he took to his Facebook page to vent.

“I swear to God I love this city but I wonder if this city loves me,” he wrote.

“In uniform I get nasty hateful looks and out of uniform some consider me a threat. I’ve experienced so much in my short life and these last 3 days have tested me to the core.

“When people you know begin to question your integrity you realize they don’t really know you at all. Look at my actions they speak LOUD and CLEAR.

“Finally I personally want to send prayers out to everyone directly affected by this tragedy. These are trying times. Please don’t let hate infect your heart.

“This city MUST and WILL get better. I’m working in these streets so any protesters, officers, friends, family, or whoever, if you see me and need a hug or want to say a prayer. I got you.”

Every single person who was interviewed by a media outlet had only positive things to say about Jackson.

Jackson’s next door neighbor, Kristi Vick Godal described him as a “big man” but a gentle one.  He also served as their neighborhood’s homeowner’s association president.

“We’ve all just been devastated,” Godal said. “An extremely special human being was stolen from the earth.”

The two other victims, Matthew Gerald, 41, and Brad Garafola, 45 were also fathers.

The suspect, Gavin Long of Kansas City, Missouri, was shot dead by police.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey: Do Ratings Signal Cancelation?!?

Is The Real Housewives of New Jersey getting a bit long in the tooth?

The veteran reality series returned to the air after a lengthy hiatus to 1.7 million viewers.

That figure marks a record low for a season premiere.

Producers were no doubt betting big on having Teresa Giudice’s return from the slammer as a focal point of the premiere, so the figures have to be a little discouraging.

Teresa has been part of the some of the craziest moments of the entire franchise, so she really was their best chance at hitting ratings gold.

It just didn’t work out the way they hoped it would.

Season 6 of the show premiered to 2.1 million viewers back in 2014, so this is a pretty steep drop, but could increased DVR usage recoup some of the losses?

It sure seems that way!

The only additional figures for the premiere thus far are the first three days that people caught up with the show on DVR.

In that measure, the numbers swelled to 2.6 million total viewers.

That sort of makes up for the losses. Cable networks tend to focus on the ratings the show receives after the original air date in renewal decisions.

Being off the air for almost two years was always going to be a gamble.

People obviously don’t view the show as appointment television any longer, but there’s evidently still interest in the show.

It happens, but you should not be getting ready to say goodbye to The Real Housewives of New Jersey just yet.

It will be around for at least another few years if the ratings stay around the same level.

If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online, you’ll know that Teresa is trying to integrate back into her old life with her friends and family in the aftermath of her stint in prison.

It’s actually pretty entertaining.

What do you think about all of this?

Is it time for the show to go?

Big Ang: Late Mob Wives Star Honored With Controversial Dance Party

Back in February, popular Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola passed away after struggling with stage four cancer that had spread to several vital organs.

Last month, we reported on her husband Neil Murphy’s controversial plan to honor Raiola with a memorial concert and dance party at her favorite club in Staten Island.

Why would such a tribute meet with any sort of opposition?

Well, for starters, Raiola and Murphy were estranged in the months leading up to his death.

Accounts concur that Ang forgave Neil on her deathbed, but even so, many of the raspy-voiced reality star’s family and friends believe that Murphy’s main concern these days isn’t honoring Ang’s life, but cashing in on her death.

Raiola’s sister, Janine Detore, has publicly accused Murphy of organizing the party as a way of using Ang’s death as a way to line his own pockets.

“Don’t you think it’s odd though that a lawyer and estranged husband is doing this?” she asked in a recent interview.

But despite Detore’s objection the Big Ang Big Dance Party went off without a hitch last night.

“We had a beautiful night and phenomenal lineup of talent,” Angela’s attorney Stephen Spinelli told E! News after the charity event.

“All of the talent donated their acts and services to the show. You couldn’t ask for a better lineup.”

Spinelli adds that stars from Jersey Shore and Orange is the New Black showed up to raise a glass to one of the more iconic reality stars of recent years.

“[Her husband] Neil was very happy to see the turnout and see how many people loved his wife,” Spinelli said.

“All in all, I would categorize it as an upbeat, happy event because that’s what Neil wanted. He was sure that is what Angela wanted. If you knew Angela, she would have said enjoy yourself and get over it.”

Friends and family shared stories about Ang and reminded the crowd of her favorite expression:

“I’m not here for a long time, I’m here for a good time.”

“I can’t tell you how rewarding it was when her best friends said Angela would have loved this. This is exactly what she would have wanted,” Spinelli said.

“This is what Angela’s life was all about.”

Taylor Swift vs Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: Selena Gomez Weighs In!

Everyone has something to say about it, especially Taylor Swift’s best friend.

Selena Gomez posted a few tweets in response to Kim Kardashian’s decision to release audio between Swift and Kanye West regarding “Famous” lyrics.

“There are more important things to talk about…” she tweeted.

“Why can’t people use their voice for something that fucking matters?”

“Truth is last thing we need right now is [sic] hate, in any form,” she added.

“This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh”

According to the Daily Mirror, a fan asked Gomez why she wasn’t using the hashtag, #blacklivesmatter.

“oh lol so that means if I hashtag something I save lives?” she responded.

“No -I could give two f***s about ‘sides’. You don’t know what I do.”

The audio reveals West running controversial lyrics about Swift by the singer herself.

“I mean it’s like a compliment,” West says over the phone.

“What I give a f*** about is just you as a person and as a friend, I want things that make you feel good I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.”

Swift then gave her approval.

“Go with whatever line you think is better,” she said.

“It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice!”

“I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song.”

After the audio was released, Swift released response via Instagram stating that West left out the lyric, “I made that bitch famous.”

“Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?” Swift asked.

“It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world.

Swift wrapped up the statement by referencing the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where West crashed Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video.

“I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”
