Tamera Mowry Shares Her Grief After Laying to Rest Slain Niece

Last week, Alaina Housley, niece of Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley, was murdered in a mass shooting.

Now, the bright teenager has been laid to rest.

Temera shared a heartbreaking quote about grief to mark the occassion.

Reports on the 12 innocent lives lost in the Thousand Oaks shooting were consumed by stories of the raging wildfire that is tearing through Southern California.

But Tamera can’t think of anything but her niece, her grief, and her family.

“Today we lay you to rest sweet angel,” Tamera writes on Instagram.

“I’ll miss you forever,” she continues. “And your sweet smile.”

“Until we meet again,” Tamera adds.

She follows those words in her caption with an emoji of two linked hearts.

Tamera Mowry Shares Post About Grief

Her caption is beside an image of a very relevant quote.

“Grief never ends… but it changes,” the quote begins.

“It’s a passage, not a place to stay,” the quote continues.

The quote notes: “Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.”

“It is,” the quote concludes. “The price of love.”

That is heartbreaking but very accurate.

Tamera gave context for the quote that she shared.

“This quote was sent to me by my friend David,” she says.

She didn’t tag him, which is a tasteful way to give him credit without getting him mobbed by fans.

“When I am having a challenging day,” Tamera shares. “I cling to it.”

She has had a lot of challenging days in the past week.

Her entire family has.

Tamera confirmed that she did not have sex until she was 29 and then, wracked by guilt due to her religious beliefs, remained celibate until marriage.

She has come under fire for her marriage to Adam Housley.

Some took aim at their interracial marriage — because yes, this world is still full of hatefulness and racism.

Others took aim because of Housley’s role at Fox News, a conservative outlet that gives a platform to outspoken white supremacists like Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson.

It should be noted that Housley departed from his role at Fox News in protest over the network’s pivot from actual journalism to Trump hype.

And at any rate, any criticisms that one might have of Tamera or her husband can wait.

They are in mourning.

Alaina Housley was a freshman at Pepperdine University.

It was college night at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California.

What should have been a night to party, mix, and mingle turned into a massacre.

Tamera and Adam have expressed their sorrow, not only for their own loss, but for the other 11 innocents who were gunned down.

And for their families, and for the numerous individuals who were injured.

One of the victims who did not survive had, just a year earlier, survived the Las Vegas shooting.

To Alaina’s loved ones who survive her, the reality of her tragic death is still sinking in.

Some of them may feel betrayed that the world immediately moved on from the story of the massacre.

As we mentioned, multiple blazes following serious drought in Southern California have raged through.

Entire towns have been destroyed. Dozens are dead. Hundreds are missing or unaccounted for.

2018 has visited many horrors upon us all, but seems to be doubling down on the people of Southern California as the year draws to a close.

Rest in peace, Alaina. We hope that her family is able to cope with this unthinkable loss.

Montrell Jackson: Slain Baton Rouge Cop Posts Emotional Message Prior To Shootings

He was a ten-year veteran on the police force, and just welcomed a baby boy.

Montrell Jackson, 32, was one of the three officers killed in a July 18th Baton Rouge shooting.

Jackson’s former colleague Marcus Tillman told NBC News that he had spoken to Jackson after the shooting of Alton Sterling earlier this month.

Jackson was so distraught over the ordeal that he took to his Facebook page to vent.

“I swear to God I love this city but I wonder if this city loves me,” he wrote.

“In uniform I get nasty hateful looks and out of uniform some consider me a threat. I’ve experienced so much in my short life and these last 3 days have tested me to the core.

“When people you know begin to question your integrity you realize they don’t really know you at all. Look at my actions they speak LOUD and CLEAR.

“Finally I personally want to send prayers out to everyone directly affected by this tragedy. These are trying times. Please don’t let hate infect your heart.

“This city MUST and WILL get better. I’m working in these streets so any protesters, officers, friends, family, or whoever, if you see me and need a hug or want to say a prayer. I got you.”

Every single person who was interviewed by a media outlet had only positive things to say about Jackson.

Jackson’s next door neighbor, Kristi Vick Godal described him as a “big man” but a gentle one.  He also served as their neighborhood’s homeowner’s association president.

“We’ve all just been devastated,” Godal said. “An extremely special human being was stolen from the earth.”

The two other victims, Matthew Gerald, 41, and Brad Garafola, 45 were also fathers.

The suspect, Gavin Long of Kansas City, Missouri, was shot dead by police.

Christina Grimmie: Thousands of Fans Donate to GoFundMe Campaign For Slain Singer"s Family

On Friday night, The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie was shot and killed while greeting fans following a concert in Orlando.

She was just 22 years old.

Members of Christina’s family have shared their grief in heartbreaking social media messages, and while nothing can heal the wounds of such a senseless tragedy, they can hopefully find some comfort in the fact that their loss is shared by fans from all corners of the globe.

In addition to her prodigious talent, Christina connected with millions through her tremendous energy and spirit, and when the opportunity arose to show her family how much of an impact the singer made in her brief time on Earth, fans answered the call en masse.

Christina’s manager, Brian Teefey, created a GoFundMe page to support the Grimmie family in this dark time.

The goal was to raise $ 4,000 to help them cover funeral expenses.

That goal was reached within minutes of the page going live, but the outpouring of support didn’t stop there.

At this point, less than 48 hours since the campaign began, over 4,500 fans have raised nearly $ 170,000.

Teefey, who had worked with Grimmie from the very start of her career, posted the following message on the page:

“Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling. I learned this business through the eyes of a father and Christina was like a second daughter to me.

“All I wanted to do was assist her in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business.

“I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided. In Christina’s honor I have created a Go Fund Me page to assist her family in their time of need.

“As family Mother, Father, and Brother made the ultimate family sacrifice to support Christina on her musical journey. They did nothing but love her and support her as family the best they knew how, the only worry I want them to have at this point is that of recovery.”

Lyuba Savenok: Pregnant Mom Slain, Husband Charged With Double Murder

Lyuba Savenok, a 23-year-old mother of two, has been slain – and her husband charged with her murder and that of her unborn child.

Yevgeniy “Eugene” Savenok, 30, is now facing a life sentence if convicted in the gruesome stabbing death of his wife and their son.

The baby died minutes after being delivered in an emergency C-section, according to the criminal complaint obtained by multiple sources.

This shocking tragedy occurred in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Police were called to a domestic disturbance at the couple’s home on Saturday morning, where they found Lyuba lying on the floor.

She was suffering from stab wounds to her chest, shoulder and neck, with a knife sticking out of her chest.

Lyuba, who was 26 weeks pregnant, died at the hospital, where an emergency C-section was performed in attempt to save her unborn child.

The little boy lived for several minutes before he died.

Her younger sister, Alisa Katane, was present in the couple’s home when Yevgeniy allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and attacked her.

He put his wife in a headlock and held it the weapon to her wife’s throat, according to the criminal complaint; Alisa raced to call 911.

The teen told police that Yevgeniy put the pair’s two kids, Matthew, 4, and Vivienne, 3, in a car and fled, leaving his dying wife inside.

As Lyuba’s accused murderer remains in jail ahead of a court hearing on Wednesday, her family has issued a statement to the media.

The Katane family’s remarks are as follows:

“It’s hard for us to once again hear the details of Lyuba’s senseless murder. Her family, friends and loved ones feel deep sadness, loss and anger.”

“It has been especially difficult to learn that her son survived for a small time after the doctors tried to save him. Lyuba was going to name him Ellis.”

“We are assured knowing that we live in a country where justice will be served and we are grateful that the children are both safe and cared for by Lyuba’s parents.”

Her brother Aleksandr Katane continued:

“As the report states my sister Alisa, 14, escaped the house as Lyuba was murdered so we are relieved to know that she is also safe.”

“Currently the entire family is focused on celebrating Lyuba’s life at her funeral and also caring for her two remaining children.”

“Lyuba was in a very difficult marriage and no stone will be left unturned as we look for answers.”

“However at this time let’s focus on celebrating her life, passions and coming together to set her children up for success.”
