The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 14 Recap: Still Gotta Mean Something

Jadis is probably one of the smartest survivors in the wasteland that is The Walking Dead.

When The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 14 kicked off, we learned just how Jadis managed to survive the attack Simon ordered on her people a few weeks back.

She played dead when the kills were coming fast and furious before deciding it was time to find and kill the leader of the Saviors: Negan.

Negan tried to tell Jadis he was not the one who gave the order to kill her people.

“That was the work of someone not following the program,” the villain said as Jadis prepared to take him down.

Jadis threatened to destroy Lucille because she was the one in control and it was time to dole out a nice dose of revenge to those who had wronged her.

Negan managed to overpower her in one of the most predictable scenes of the entire series.

“You took away everything — you took away me,” Jadis wailed at Negan, but in a rare moment, Negan opened up about how he named the bat after his wife when she died.

Things took a dramatic turn when the chopper appeared once again, and Jadis tried to send a flare towards it. But Negan stopped her from doing anything … even killing him.

Jadis was all talk, but very little action and that’s what was more frustrating. She let Negan leave after he asked her to join his cause, but he said he would return.

Negan picked someone up from the side of the road, and we never got to see who it was, but the pair returned to the Sanctuary and went into hiding.

Meanwhile, Rick continued to struggle in the aftermath of Carl’s death. Michonne admitted that she moved from place to place after the death of her kids, and Andrea stopped her.

Michonne wanted to be that person for Rick. Ultimately, Rick went on a mission to round up the escapees with Morgan, and they both struggled to come to terms with everything.

They were caught by the inmates, and while things were more subdued than we expected, the inmates decided to cut the crap and talked to the men.

But Rick and Morgan were not taking any chances and murdered them all without so much as a second thought.

Rick and Morgan chatted a lot about what had been happening to them over the years and how they were different now. It seemed to foreshadow Morgan’s exit as he moves over to Fear The Walking Dead.

All told, “Still Gotta Mean Something” was all about character development, but it set up the final two episodes really well. Negan looks set to change things up at the Sanctuary and that might include killing Simon for going behind his back.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 Episode 18 Recap: Nightmare on Peach Street

Another season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is in the can, and we can’t help but feel like the series is running out of steam.

On The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 Episode 18, the ladies were all looking to the future after a season of crazy developments.

When the episode kicked off, Sheree was excited about a lot of things: She had a boyfriend who was incarcerated, and she was finally getting her basement completed, so she had somewhere to hide him when any of her friends stopped by.

We’re kidding about the “hiding” part, but seriously, it’s crazy that Sheree is still pressing on with this relationship despite all of the uncertainty.

“I am super excited to finally just be able to show off my basement,” said Sheree to the audience about her basement.

If you watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online, you will know fine well these women have a knack for showing off their houses.

That’s sort of what happens when you appear on TV on a regular basis. It becomes a competition about who has the nicest house.

Yes, these housewives are that shallow, but maybe that’s what the producers (and viewers!) like, or like to hate about them.

One person, who probably isn’t getting invited to the basement is Porsha. Sheree learned that Porsha was running her mouth about all of the women to Shamea when she left Spain.

The big kicker for Sheree was that Porsha allegedly said that she could not trust any of the other women on the show, and that included Sheree.

Sheree was blindsided because she felt like things were going good for them as friends. Sheree decided to skip Porsha’s performance on some tour in retaliation.

Cynthia and Kenya were the only women who went to support her, but Kim could not stop running her mouth about both Porsha and Vivica.

“I can’t tell you how much it warmed my heart,” says Porsha. “Knowing all we’ve been through in the past, them being here erases all that.”

Yeah, we’re going to bet things will change at the reunion because this is pretty shady of Kim.

The final big event of the episode focused on Eva and Kandi bonding and throwing a Halloween party together.

The drama kicked up a few notches when Porsha learned from Kim and Sheree that Shamea ‘fessed up about Porsha’s comments.

“After hearing what Porsha said, I don’t think she really knows how to be a friend,” Sheree said in a confessional. It makes sense because Porsha cannot seem to stop running her mouth.

NeNe tried to recruit Porsha to her side of the division among the housewives when she ran off.

“What if all the girls came and stood right here and you apologized and took full accountability for whatever it is that you have done,” NeNe asked her. “No,“Because they’re fake.”

Yeah, we’re going to be watching the hell out of the reunion because things are going to be crazy!

Steven Bochco Dies; Legendary TV Writer/Producer Was 74

Steven Bochco, the beloved television show creator and producer who won 10 Emmy Awards over the course of an illustrious career, has passed away.

He was 74 years old.

Although the exact cause of death has not been confirmed, Bochco suffered from leukemia, having received a stem cell transplant from an anonymous 23-year-old in late 2014.

A family spokesperson confirmed this sad piece of news on Sunday night.

“Steven fought cancer with strength, courage, grace and his unsurpassed sense of humor,” Phillip Arnold said, adding:

“He died peacefully in his sleep [at home] with his family close by.”

It’s possible that you had never heard of Steven Bochco before this, but, if you’re a fan of the small screen, it’s inconceivable that you have not heard of his work.

The producer was behind such all-time hits as Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, NYPD Blue and Doogie Howser M.D.

Bochco was known for taking creative risks and pushing the proverbial envelope of what was accepted on television.

Take the show Cop Rock, for example, which was an actual musical set inside a police station.

Or Murder One, which followed a single murder case over an entire season.

Or the aforementioned NYPD Blue, which created quite the controversy for ABC back in the 1990s due to its mixture of violence, crude language and nudity.

(The drama went on to win 20 Emmys.)

Once asked how he could be so bold about taking chances with the shows he developed, Bochco referenced a then-unprecedented 10-series contract he had signed with ABC and replied:

“With my deal, how could I not?”

In 1999, the Producers Guild of America honored Bochco with its David Susskind lifetime achievement award, describing his record of quality programs as “the standard all television producers strive for.”

Today, many showrunners credit Bochco as an influence, believing that the ongoing era of “Peak TV” would have been impossible to achieve without him.

“Steven Bochco sat with Jake Kasdan and myself before we started Freaks and Geeks and let us grill him for advice,” Tweeted Judd Apatow in response to this news.

“We used all of it.  He was a great man and will forever be an inspiration.”

Many other giants in the TV industry also passed along their thoughts on Twitter:

twitter reaction

Added former USA Today TV critic Robert Bianco:

“If this is the Golden Age of television, Steven Bochco launched it and helped sustain it. Every great modern drama owes Hill Street a debt.

Bochco’s survivors include sister Joanna Frank, who portrayed Sheila Brackman, the wife of Douglas Brackman Jr. (her real-life husband Alan Rachins), on L.A. Law… his wife of 17 years, Dayna… kids Jesse, Sean and Melissa… and grandchildren Wes and Stevie Rae.

Our thoughts go out to his family members, friends and loved ones.

May Steven Bochco rest in peace.
