Don McLean: Arrested For Domestic Violence!

Don McLean, who wrote and sang the classic 1971 song “American Pie,” was arrested and charged with domestic violence this morning.

The 70-year-old Don got popped in the suburban town of Camden, Maine, after police responded to a 911 call from his house at 2:00 a.m.

It is unknown who McLean allegedly assaulted, but he was arrested without incident to the Knox County jail for this sorrowful mug shot.

More details of the domestic violence incident have not been released, though McLean his married to photographer Patrisha McLean.

“American Pie,” part of the American lexicon, is one of the most covered songs ever and got McLean into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

He also got pretty rich off of the interminable ballad.

The one-hit wonder recently sold off the handwritten lyrics to “American Pie” to Christie’s Auction House for a reported $ 1.2 million.

Should cover bail money at least.
