Robby Hayes: Nick Viall Is Too Old to be Bachelor!

Robby Hayes is the latest The Bachelor franchise star to weigh on Nick Viall being cast on The Bachelor Season 21

Hayes had his shot at love stolen from under him on the most recent season of The Bachelorette

He survived all the way to the season finale, but narrowly lost out to Jordan Rodgers, who was quick to get engaged to JoJo Fletcher.

Naturally, Hayes was hurt by JoJo’s decision, but he wanted to make it clear that he still likes his love rival, Rodgers.

But he had to move on with his life.

There’s no point in dwelling in the past.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Viall’s casting on The Bachelor.

If you recall, Luke Pell was a slam dunk to be the new suitor, but a last minute decision forced Pell to unpack his suitcase and return to his life is a singleton.

Yes, he had flights booked and his case packed. That’s how close he was to being the suitor.

Yikes.

Changing things at the last minute appears to be common occurrence. Maybe it’s to keep the public somewhat surprised.

Any way you look at it, the producers could be better by making sure they know who they’re taking on in advance of signing any contracts.

It’s not fair to mess people around.

Hayes was quick to jump on the offense at Viall’s casting.

“I thought [producers] would go with someone younger, someone with a little more energy to bring to the table that frankly hasn’t been around the block a couple times,” he revealed.

Wow.

It’s one thing to make comments about Nick’s age, but saying he’s been around the block is just ludicrous.

Yes, Viall participated on two seasons of The Bachelorette and one season Bachelor in Paradise, but that doesn’t automatically mean he’s been around the block.

All the poor guy wants is a decent chance of finding the woman of his dreams. At least this time he’ll be the one choosing his woman.

He’ll actually be there on finale night this time round.

Maybe Hayes is miffed about the whole thing because he wanted someone from his season to show up.

If that’s the case, then that’s not how it works.

Hayes also chimed in with his two cents on whether he would star as The Bachelor.

“I would definitely consider it,” Hayes tells Us.

“With that being said, the scrutiny, the tabloid stuff, everything that comes along with it is hard for not just you, but for the family around you, the friends around you. … Your feelings get hurt. It would be something I would have to sit down and discuss with them. My immediate family, my friends, everyone around me. I’m not the only one that goes through it.”

He does have a point, but it’s hard to imagine in any situation that he would decline a request to appear on the show.

Even though he essentially dissed Viall, he made it abundantly clear that he wishes him the best on the show.

“I wish him the best,” the single stud says.

“I know how I felt going through it, and I hope he finds that love he’s been looking for.”

That’s nice of him!

What do you think about all of this?

Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 Episode 11: Who Got Engaged?!?

Four couples entered on Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 Episode 11.

And three couples left engaged.

Which twosomes went home happy? Who was left in tears by the end of the finale? And what the heck is in the Mexican water that caused six people to go from single to engaged in a matter of weeks?!?

Let’s find out!

EVAN AND CARLY

They woke up from their Fantasy Suite night as in love as ever. Carly even said she was a fan of Evan’s rapping ability.

She’s “changed my life by accepting every part of me,” Evan gushed.

Enter our man Neil Lane, who would show up A LOT during the finale, and enter a proposal on the beach.

“Carly Waddell, will you freaking marry me?!?” he actually asked.

And she said yes! Hooray! Status: ENGAGED!

GRANT AND LACE

Grant woke up in the Fantasy Suite feeling “weird in a bad way,” while Lace began to cry out of fear over what Grant would do. (She also may have still been drunk from the evening before.)

She wondered why the pair got tattoos on the previous Bachelor in Paradise episode if they still weren’t sure they’d be getting married.

That’s a great question.

Another great question: Will you marry me?

Grant asked it. Lace accepted it. And we have another engagement to celebrate. Status: ENGAGED!

NICK AND JEN

It is truly amazing what private alone time does for a relationship,” Nick said upon waking up in the Fantasy Suite.

In other words: we totally boned!

Jen, meanwhile, was excited for a proposal, while Nick went to pick out the ring.

All good, right? Maybe all that Nick Viall as The Bachelor talk was just a red herring to throw us off?

Or maybe not…

“I’ve fallen in love with you, and I want to continue to fall if you’re willing to catch me,” Jen said.

Nick then started to cry and rambled on about how Jen deserves someone better than him and that he fears he will regret a proposal.

“K,” Jen replied.

Really. That’s what she said, prior to the two walking away and getting into separate cars. Status: NOT ENGAGED.

JOSH AND AMANDA

These two had been sleeping in the same bed for awhile.

So, yes, their Fantasy Suite night went well, but that was to be expected.

Josh then expressed some fear over Amanda having two daughters before saying:

“On the day I was proposing last time, I definitely had reservations and I definitely don’t want to make the mistakes I made in the past.”

Andi Dorfman Shade Alert, huh?!?

But Josh still went through with another proposal this time around, telling Amanda:

“Josh: This is the best woman in the world. Seriously. Like, there is no better. None. Ever.”

“You’re the sweetest. You’re perfect. You’re like, my dream guy,” Amanda replied.

So there you have it. One finale. Three engagement.

Bachelor in Paradise Season 3 Episode 10 Recap: How Suite It Is?

You don’t watch Bachelor in Paradise online thinking you’re going to watch a true love story unfold. Although it would be a nice bonus.

You’re watching to see the train wreck that unfolds week in and week out when a bunch of Bachelor and Bachelorette castoffs reunite.

That’s what keeps you coming back, along with epic falls from grace and tales of redemption, like ABC naming Nick Viall The Bachelor.

Seriously, who would’ve predicted that a month ago?!?

But we digress a bit.

On Monday night, Bachelor in Paradise did not take an evening off for Labor Day.

Instead, it got viewers all worked up by posing the following questions:

Would Ashley Iaconetti lose her virginity? Did Vinny Ventiera and Izzy Goodkind actually get back together?

And, of course, who stayed overnight in the Fantasy Suits?!?

We’ll start with Izzy.

She got dissed and dismissed by Brett at the last second, who chose Lauren instead. But Izzy didn’t just sit around and wallow in a pool of tears; she ran back to Vinny!

“I made a mistake. I made a huge mistake,” Izzy said through tears. “I love Vinny, and I didn’t give us that chance to fall in love … I’m in it to Vin it!”

Yes, she really said this.

And then Vin really said THIS on the phone to Izzy:

“Uhh, obviously what happened, it really just f-cking blindsided me. You wanted to throw it all away to some guy with a f–king lamp. It was pretty shallow.

“When that happened, the feelings I had just f-cking went out the window. I just can’t be with somebody like that. For me, there’s really just no coming back from what happened.”

So that’s that.

(And that was also that for Brett and Lauren after the former dumped the latter at the Rose Ceremony.)

Last week, meanwhile, Wells Adams was stuck in a love square with Ashley, Shushanna Mkrtychyan and Jami Letain.

This week, that shape got broken apart.

First, sent Jami packing during the Rose Ceremony. Then, he was totally rejected by Shush.

“I don’t want this. I don’t fight for guys,” she told Wells. “Hearing that all the other girls are, like, hunting. I just feel like I’m in the wrong place right now.”

Hey, at least she finally arrived at this decision, right?

Perhaps next time, she ought to read the description of a reality show before she signs on for it.

Shush

Then there’s Ashley. She’s a virgin, you know.

However, she was all excited to change this status with Wells and his “Joe Jonas mouth.”

Did she want to “sit on his c–k?”

“Yeah!” she replied, adding:

“If Wells doesn’t f-ck me tonight, I’m going to the convent because I’m dying alone.”

Oh boy. How does one make reservations at a convent?

Because Wells did not f-ck Ashley last night.

He said it was against his character to have sex after just two dates and he couldn’t handle the pressure, so he broke Ashley’s heart.

This means the final couples in Paradise were:

Nick Viall and Jen Saviano, Amanda Stanton and Josh Murray, Carly Waddell and Evan Bass, and Lace Morris and Grant Kemp.

“It does make me nervous that the last time I expressed any feelings to anyone was in an environment like this, but you’re the only reason I’m still here,” Nick told Jen, later telling the camera:

“I need to figure out if Jen and I have a real shot outside of Paradise. It’s a huge commitment.”

(Editor’s Note: It doesn’t work out. Nick is the next Bachelor. This is so hilarious and ridiculous.)

Still, Nick and Jen did end up in the Fantasy Suite, prompting Jen to say:

“Hopefully [the fantasy suite] gives us the push we need. And that I’ll wake up tomorrow having a much better idea of what direction we’re going.”

(Need we repeat the above Editor’s Note?)

As for Lace and Grant? They got matching “Grace” tattoos on their wrists because “life hurts a lot more than tattoos,” she explained.

That’s profound.

So were Lace’s words to Grant:

“You mean a lot to me, and I’m really happy, and it’s just crazy to think about how well we fit together. You have truly made me realize that you’re a man that’s hard to come by and I’m superlucky.

“You make me love myself and it’s because of you. And I want you to know I love you.”

But Evan and Carly would not be outdone in this department.

They attended a  “sex canvas” painting session, led by a naked old lady with pendulous breasts, and then they had the following exchange:

Evan: “It’s more than just falling in love with you. I love you. So much.”

Carly: “I love you too. I’ve been wanting to say that to you for so long.”

Did they get it on in the Fantasy Suite? Let’s ask Carly:

“Tonight is the fantasy suite and you know when you love someone, you … how do I phrase that so my dad won’t have a heart attack?”

Yes, they did.

Finally, we get to Josh and Amanda.

The former said his mother is such a big part of his life that her having never met Amanda made him unsure if he could really commit.

But Amanda is all in. She’s totally down with being a “soccer mom.”

“If he doesn’t propose, I would be disappointed,” she confided to the camera.

We’ll find out what happens on tonight’s season finale!!!!!

Nick Viall: Whoa! I"m The Bachelor?!?

Are you still shocked that Nick Viall has been chosen as the next Bachelor on ABC?

You’re not alone.

Nick Viall is as stunned as anyone.

A few days after Viall appeared on the Bachelor in Paradise after-show to announce the news, he’s made it clear over Instagram that he still can’t believe it’s true.

Yes, he’s appeared twice on The Bachelorette and is currently a cast member on the aforementioned franchise spinoff.

But still. He’s getting a FOURTH shot at love?!?

“The look when it hasn’t quite sunk in yet,” Viall wrote as a caption to the selfie above, adding:

“Couldn’t feel more fortunate. Incredibly thankful for all the support. We are going to have some fun! #thebachelor.”

Not everyone agrees with this assessment, of course.

There’s a petition going around to have both Viall AND Pell as the Bachelors this spring, with the women on the show eventually deciding who ought to be the sole star.

Viall, however, seems immune to the criticism.

Soon after being confirmed as The Bachelor, he posted with the After Paradise crew (above) and wrote on his Instagram account:

“Wow!! Couldn’t be more excited, nervous, and thankful for this opportunity!! It’s going to be a wild ride.

“Thank you to everyone for all their support! So thankful!!!! HERE WE GO!! #thebachelor #bachelorinparadise #thankyou.”

Most fans of The Bachelor had assumed that Pell would earn this gig, and that includes Pell himself.

He’s gone on record in saying just how close he actually got to standing alongside Chris Harrison when the series returns next year.

“We were all satisfied, had agreed to the contracts and everything was moving forward,” Pell told Us Weekly on Thursday.

“I was checked in to my flight to come to L.A. I got a call from producers Sunday night at about 10 p.m. They said ABC had decided to quote-unquote go in a different direction.

“I was supposed to fly out Monday morning at 9 a.m. I had my bags packed and everything. Most dramatic Monday ever!”

Wow, yeah. We’d say so.

Do you think ABC made the right call? Who would YOU want to see as the Bachelor number-21?

And the Winner is?

Nick Viall will be The Bachelor in the spring of 2017. But would you prefer to have seen Luke Pell picked for this position? View Poll »

Viall has finished twice as the runner-up on The Bachelorette.

Many see him as an odd selection because he’s actively involved these days with Bachelor in Paradise, meaning he’s seemingly looking for love on television this summer already.

Lauren Himle – who costarred with Viall on Season 3 of that show – told Detroit’s The Ticket radio station a few days ago that she isn’t happy with how the newly-crowned Bachelor treated Jen Saviano.

“I am not a big fan of [Viall],” said Himle.

“He dated my great friend Jen on Bachelor in Paradise … but it was my understanding that they were still seeing each other after the show completed.”

Wait… so how serious were Viall and Saviano after the ABC dating show concluded filming?

Himle said they were “still together in a relationship.”

And this was just last week!

The Bachelor producers, of course, is probably loving this controversy.

Look at how many headlines the casting of Viall has generated over the past few days?

Viewers may claim that they won’t tune in to see Viall search for a wife again next spring, but let’s face it: they will.

Even if you hate watch The Bachelor online or on television, you are still watching it.

ABC will gladly take your eyeballs and the ratings they bring in.

The Bachelor Fans Petition for Unprecedented New Season

Nick Viall continues to be at the center of the huge backlash surrounding his casting on The Bachelor Season 21

It’s pretty much all fans of the franchise are talking about right now.

It’s even overshadowing the drama on Bachelor in Paradise. It’s all getting a bit crazy.

If you recall, Luke Pell was long rumored to be stepping into the limelight and getting another shot at love.

Fans were obviously pretty happy about his potential casting. He’s everything a suitor on the show should be.

He quickly became a fan favorite on The Bachelorette Season 12 and it left a bad taste when he didn’t make it all the way with JoJo Fletcher.

That’s probably one of the reasons he was approached by producers in the first place.

Either way you look at it, Pell was meant to be the new bachelor and it all changed pretty quickly for him.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Luke had a lot to say about what went down

“We were all satisfied, had agreed to the contracts and everything was moving forward. I was checked in to my flight to come to L.A.,” he explained.”

“I got a call from producers Sunday night at about 10 p.m. They said ABC had decided to quote-unquote go in a different direction. I was supposed to fly out Monday morning at 9 a.m. I had my bags packed and everything. Most dramatic Monday ever!”

“We had planned for intro filming and had planned to have my sister come on for a date and give advice as part of the show. I met with the wardrobe guys. Everything was moving forward. Everyone on the production level was expecting it to be me, as well.”

It’s pretty sad that he was pretty much guaranteed to go be the star of the show, only to have it pulled from under him.

Perhaps ABC didn’t find his story quite as compelling as the person they inevitably chose.

That was Nick Viall, who is arguably one of the more polarizing suitors to grace the franchise.

When Nick’s casting was revealed, there was a lot of chatter about it on Twitter. Most of it wasn’t positive.

This will be Nick’s fourth chance to find love after appearing in two seasons of The Bachelorette and one season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Now, one fan has launched a petition to allow the 25 women to choose between Nick Viall and Luke Pell.

“Let Luke Pell and Nick Viall both be the new Bachelor and let the 25 women choose who they want. Like Britt and Kaitlyn did,” wrote Patricia Ambern, who started the petition on Change.org.

“There are A LOT of fans from Bachelor Nation who love Luke Pell as well,” she continued.

“Please consider this request. Thank you from a Luke Pell fan!!”

It’s really not too much to ask and ABC would get the best of both worlds. Both men obviously have different fans, so it would at least drum up some more interest for the show.

Who would you pick?

And the Winner is?

Luke Pell Speaks on Bachelor Snub: ABC Screwed Me!

Okay, so maybe Luke Pell isn’t taking the whole Bachelor casting snub thing very well after all…

On Tuesday night, ABC stunned viewers by passing over Pell (the presumed favorite) in favor of Nick Viall as the next Bachelor.

Starting this spring with new episodes of the reality series, Viall will be given his fourth shot to find contrived love, following a pair of runner-up finishes on The Bachelorette and his current gig on Bachelor in Paradise.

The selection came as a shock to those who watch The Bachelor online and who follow this franchise closely.

At first, however, Pell seemed to take the rejection in stride.

Just consider the following meme and message:

Pell and God

“Thanks for all the love and support over the past few months, sometimes in life we are faced with unexpected changes,” Pell wrote on Instagram.

A tad bit extreme, considering this “unexpected challenge” and this reference to God having a plan in centered on anchoring The Bachelor?

Some might say.

But it at least proven that Pell was handling the surprising selection very well.

Now, however, Pell has come out and told Us Weekly that he was closer than folks could have possibly imagined to being named The Bachelor.

And then it was taken away from him.

“We were all satisfied, had agreed to the contracts and everything was moving forward,” Pell explains to Us Weekly.

“I was checked in to my flight to come to L.A. I got a call from producers Sunday night at about 10 p.m. They said ABC had decided to quote-unquote go in a different direction.

“I was supposed to fly out Monday morning at 9 a.m. I had my bags packed and everything.”

And the Winner is?

Nick Viall will be The Bachelor in the spring of 2017. But would you prefer to have seen Luke Pell picked for this position? View Poll »

Pell became a fan favorite this past season on The Bachelorette while he was competing to be JoJo Fletcher’s husband.

ABC executives have admitted that Viall was chosen at the last minute, but we didn’t realize it really was at the very last minute.

According to Pell, far more than just an airline ticket had been purchased.

“We had planned for intro filming and had planned to have my sister come on for a date and give advice as part of the show,” he says of how far into negotiations he got with the network.

“I met with the wardrobe guys. Everything was moving forward. Everyone on the production level was expecting it to be me, as well.”

Is Pell bitter over the way things went?

Yes, clearly. Sort of at least.

But he’s an alum of West Point. He’s come to “accept the decision,” he says, pointing to his military background in his response.

“From all my years in the military, I’ve learned that some things are out of my control,” he told Us Weekly, adding:

“I put it in the past, and I’m moving forward. It was a huge surprise, but the element of surprise and unexpected decisions is what the show thrives off of.”

That’s very true.

Would he do The Bachelor some time down the line if asked? Probably not.

For now, Pell is home in Nashville and says he’s focused on being “an entrepreneur and a songwriter.”

He’s also still focused on finding a wife. If you’re interested, here is what he’s looking for in a soulmate:

“I love somebody that is excited about life and has goals and dreams/

“I love independence. I love confidence. I love somebody that loves family and loves to have fun and who is completely comfortable in their own skin.”

Nick Viall vs. Luke Pell: Who is YOUR Bachelor?

ABC has made its decision.

It has come out and stunned the reality show world by declaring Nick Viall the next Bachelor.

This spring, when the beloved series returns with new episodes, Viall will given his FOURTH chance to find love on television, after having failed twice on The Bachelorette and once on Bachelor in Paradise.

The decision came as a surprise to those who follow this franchise, as most assumed Luke Pell would be next in line to propose …

… and then break up with his winner a few months after the finale.

But no. It will be Viall.

Do you agree with this decision?

Does Viall’s underdog story make him a better Bachelor candidate than Pell?

Let ABC hear your voice in the following poll. Cast your vote in response to the question:

WHO SHOULD BE THE NEXT BACHELOR?

And the Winner is?

As for why Viall was selected, insiders have told E! News that he’s actually been a joy to work with this summer on Bachelor in Paradise.

You may not have always loved Viall in front of the camera, but he’s reportedly easy to work with behind the camera.

Then there’s this angle:

“He’s the villain who became a hero. It became a comeback story that was irresistible,” another source tells E!.

Nick also has the blessing of the man, the myth and the legend himself.

When asked about Viall as The Bachelor, Chris Harrison said the following to Good Morning America yesterday:

“‘Ultimately, at the end of the day when we were discussing all of the candidate… it just got down to the final question of, ‘Who’s the most deserving? Who is the most sincere?

‘Who have we watched time and time again really come on the show to find love and just come up short each and every time?’

Is the idea of Nick Viall as The Bachelor crazy? Yes, Harrison admits.

But it may just be “crazy enough to work,” he says.

Viall is well aware that his long history with this franchise may be a turn off to some people.

But he can’t do anything about their opinion.

“I’ve had an interesting journey throughout this process – it hasn’t worked out so far, and hopefully this time around maybe things will end up on a more positive note,” he said on air after being introduced during the Bachelor in Paradise after-show.

“I can’t be more excited about the possibility of it actually all working out.”

Pell, meanwhile, has been feeling the love on social media.

He shared a meme online yesterday that said he trusts God’s plan for everything and added as a caption:

“Thanks for all the love and support over the past few months, sometimes in life we are faced with unexpected changes.

“I’m happy to be back home in Nashville and so excited about what the future holds.”

We now know that the future on ABC holds a major platform for Viall.

Does he deserve it?

Weigh in above and let us know!

Editor’s Note: We think we all can agree that as long as The Bachelor produces an epic meltdown or two, we don’t really care who the actual Bachelor is.

Right?

It’s okay. We’ll go ahead and make that admission in case you are afraid to do the same.

Nick Viall: Why is He The Bachelor?!?

Forget the most shocking Rose Ceremony in Bachelor history.

ABC went ahead this week and delivered the most shocking piece of casting news in Bachelor history:

Nick Viall will be the 21st Bachelor in network history.

Yes, Nick Viall.

Not Luke Pell or Chase McNary, the two gentlemen considered to have been front-runners for the past several weeks.

Why did producers select Nick Viall?

Why give this man a fourth shot at contrived love, considering he’s already appeared twice on The Bachelorette and is actually appearing right at this very moment on Bachelor in Paradise?

It wasn’t the plan all along, a source tells E! News.

“In just the last few days, it totally switched,” an insider tells E!, confirming that Pell had been the favorite for awhile.

Just how unexpected was the choosing of Viall?

“Nick’s closest friends and Bachelor in Paradise co-stars didn’t even know until moments before it was announced on After Paradise,” this same mole confirms.

Another source chimed in and told E! the same sort of thing:

“It was completely a last minute decision that only came together in the past few days. A very small handful of people knew. Nothing has been shot yet. There’s a lot that still needs to be figured out.”

Okay then. But WHY?

Why Viall at the final moment over Pell?

He’s apparently been a pleasure to work with on Bachelor in Paradise this summer. That just about sums it up.

“Nick is a low-key and chill to work with,” the source explains. “He also had a great edit this season on BIP.”

Viall ended up as the runner-up on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of The Bachelorette.

ABC will likely push the angle of this being his final chance to find a wife, of seeing whether he can finally clear the concluding hurdle.

“As Paradise started airing, he became a massive fan favorite,” E! writes. “He’s the villain who became a hero. It became a comeback story that was irresistible.”

Of course, not everyone agrees.

Amanda Stanton, who got close to Viall on Bachelor in Paradise, wrote a cheeky response to Viall’s casting.

But Josh Murray is actually happy for his reality show nemesis.

“Despite our differences I am truly happy 4 @viallnicholas28 everyone deserves love and he is no exception – this is your time, go find her,” Murray wrote yesterday.

Really! He did!

murray tweet1

Finally, host Chris Harrison helped explain why those who watch The Bachelor online will see Viall next spring and not Pell.

This is what he said to Good Morning America:

‘Ultimately, at the end of the day when we were discussing all of the candidate… t just got down to the final question of, ‘Who’s the most deserving? Who is the most sincere? Who have we watched time and time again really come on the show to find love and just come up short each and every time?’

“While Luke and Chase were good guys, we all just kept coming back to Nick. It’s just crazy enough to work.”

As for Pell?

Don’t shed too many tears over his snub.

Pell and God

“Thanks for all the love and support over the past few months, sometimes in life we are faced with unexpected changes,” he wrote on Instagram on Wednesday.

“I’m happy to be back home in Nashville and so excited about what the future holds.”

He’ll be just fine in the end.

The Bachelor Season 21 will air on ABC some time this spring.

Kaitlyn Bristowe on Nick Viall as The Bachelor: You Go Boy!

The surprising, but awesome news that ABC named Nick Viall The Bachelor has elicited strong reactions throughout Bachelor Nation.

Nick, the two-time Bachelorette runner-up turned unlikely, fan favorite Bachelor in Paradise underdog, has his fair share of detractors.

One of his famous exes isn’t among them, though:

Among his chief supporters? Kaitlyn Bristowe!

“I’m happy for him!” Bristowe, who spurned Nick in favor of Shawn Booth last summer, tells Us Weekly. “Everyone deserves to find someone.”

“I hope it works out for him this time.”

Viall was Bristowe’s runner-up during Season 11 of The Bachelorette, having ended up in the same position with Andi Dorfman in 2014.

Guy gets dumped on TV a lot!

Andi chose Josh Murray, who has remained Nick’s nemesis to this day (more on that in a moment), and Chris Soules became The Bachelor.

Nick was so mesmerized by Kaitlyn, who was one of Soules’ top contenders, that he vied for an opportunity to return and woo her next.

Despite the fact that he showed up late, he blew away the competition, again, only to fall just short, again, as Booth got the final rose.

The couple are still engaged; Dorfman and Murray broke up, after which she penned a tell-all book and talked about both of the rivals.

Mike Fleiss, Chris Harrison and the Bachelor brain trust, brilliant tacticians that they are, decided to rekindle the Nick vs. Josh beef in Paradise.

The results? Great TV for viewers, and an unlikely turn of events in which Nick – not the most popular Bachelor figure – won over fans.

If you watch Bachelor in Paradise online, you know they’ve been going at it hard over Amanda Stanton, to whom Josh is now engaged.

Ironically, though, Nick being the unlucky in love loser again made him the beloved fan figure he always wanted to be, but never was.

Josh, meanwhile, just looks like a douche.

There will still be plenty of fans who don’t care for Nick, who bested Luke Pell, Robby Hayes and others to land the role of a lifetime.

Ultimately, despite the positive reception many men from JoJo Fletcher’s season received, producers opted to make a splash with Viall.

“Hopefully, things will end up on a more positive note,” Viall said on ABC’s After Paradise regarding his unlikely starring turn this winter.

“I’ve made my mistakes. I’ve had an interesting process through this, and it hasn’t worked so far,” Viall adds, but he’s looking ahead.

“I’m definitely ready for it … I’m really excited. I couldn’t be more excited about the possibility of it working out.”

As for what Nick wants in a fiancee?

“Someone who is confident and knows their own self-worth,” he said, and having come up just short before, he’s even clearer on this.

Most importantly of all, “somebody who makes me a better person and challenges me and isn’t afraid to give as much as I like to.”

What do you think? Will he find her?

And more significantly, will you be tuning in? Do you want to see Nick find love, and will he rank among the hottest Bachelors ever?
