Jacob Roloff: Did He Just Totally Snub His Dad?
Over the past several months, Jacob Roloff has said on many occasions that he’s made up with his family.
The former Little People, Big World star has explained that he was lashing out back when he quit this TLC series; that he has since grown up a lot; and that he’s once again on solid terms with his loved ones.
And, based on photos such as the one below, we have no reason not to believe Jacob.
He’s clearly smitten with his nephew, Jackson, as his Instagram timeline is chock full of photos of himself and the one-year old.
But take a closer look and you’ll notice that there are no new pictures of Jacob and his father anywhere on this page.
We’ve had a hard time tracking down any of Matt Roloff and his youngest son on the former’s Instagram account, too.
This might mean nothing at all, of course.
Or it may be another clue that there’s tension between father and son, perhaps dating back to Jacob’s aforementioned decision to leave the world of reality television behind.
In his new book, “Out to See,” Jacob details how he couldn’t handle how each episode (heck, practically each interaction) was totally fake and scripted.
And now, in a passage excerpted by Radar Online, Jacob discusses at length the influence of “mentor” and “father figure” Mike Detjen.
“I appreciate Mike’s influence on me a lot,” Jacob writes of someone we admittedly had never heard of prior to this publication.
Having met Mike through his youth soccer team, Jacob says Detjen would often drop him off at practice or at games.
“Some took place hours away, and he would get me reading Popular Mechanics and Popular Science out loud during the long drive,” Jacob says, adding:
“I expanded my mind and learned new words from the writing inside those magazines, and even things I didn’t fully understand helped me later as a writer and reader.”
Roloff goes on to say that Mike was a “major influence on my mental development.”
Sadly, he passed away due to “cardiovascular complications” in 2008.
And Jacob recalls being left heartbroken in his book, writing:
I think I was in fifth grade at the time and I remember every detail of the morning my mom came to my room to tell me that Mike had not made it through his surgery.
I don’t remember the days afterward very well – only that I skipped school for a few days and was likely very foul to anyone around me. I cried often.
This is a sad story and an interesting story, but it may not reveal anything at all about Jacob’s relationship with Matt.
Except, at other points in his memoir, Jacob wrote at length about his siblings and his mother; he barely even mentions his dad.
Jacob doesn’t follow Matt on Instagram, either.
Moreover, as previously reported, Amy Roloff hosted an engagement party for her son after he proposed late last year.
It’s unclear whether Matt bothered to do the same.
We’re speculating here, of course, and it’s worth noting that Jacob shared a throwback photo of his parents this past February.
He cited rumored “rifts” between family members at the time and wrote the following as a caption:
My parents have always been pretty amazing. They both succeeded in life, had a family and provided for and gave their kids all that they wanted, within disciplined reason.
My dad taught me practical, mindful things like chess, how to build a fire, and other sorts of exercises in basic critical thinking to a degree that I still carry the lessons with me today.
He was also a great storyteller, sitting all of us kids by the fire and telling stories of “dark, windy nights.”
My mom, always making sure we knew we were loved, supported all our efforts and hobbies as often as she knew about them, even coaching all of us kids in soccer in our early years.
She also instilled in us a very good sense of manners and respect that I find myself appreciating more and more everyday.
Hmmm… okay. Fine.
Maybe there is no beef between Jacob and Matt.
But what about between Jacob and Audrey, huh?!?!?!?!?

Meghan Markle: Shamed by Sister Over Wedding Snub
Anyone who has ever planned a wedding knows how stressful the invitation game can be.
Do you invite co-workers? Former co-workers? Friends of friends of friends of your parents?
It can turn into quite a mess… and that goes for nearly any bride, let alone the bride who will soon take part in the most famous wedding of the decade.
As reported a few weeks ago, invitations to the Royal Wedding have gone out.
They’ve been received by friends, by loved ones of Prince William and Meghan Markle and by nearly every high of state not named Donald Trump.
But a few people are noticeably absent from the list of impending attendees:

As we’ve detailed on many prior occasions, Markle is not especially close to some of her relatives, most specifically her half-sister, Samantha Grant.
The siblings are not close in age and were not raised in the same household, yet Grant has taken many opportunities to slam Markle over the last several months…
… and now she is doing so again.
Depending on which reports you believe, around 600 people will attend Markle and William’s wedding on May 19, while the reception afterward may include an audience of over 2,000 individuals.
But it doesn’t sound as though Grant is included on either of these lists.
And she wants the world to know about it.
“At issue is not a matter of closeness as more than 1000 complete strangers are invited. Family is family,” Grant tweeted on Wednesday, adding:
“I have an uncle I have only seen once but I would never say he is not family because we are not close. Humanitarians move forward with love and kindness especially to Family.”
This is quite the rich dig, many would say.
Markle, after all, it nearly as well known for her humanitarian and charitable efforts as she is for her role on USA Network drama Suits.
Grant then followed up her diss with another Tweet that reads:
“Smoke and mirrors cannot hide the elephant in the room. Out of respect, tradition, and humanitarianism, the #Markles should be invited if 2000 complete strangers are invited.
“Our uncle who got her the internship, brother, me, best friend of 30 years Nikki Priddy, nephews. Fact.”
Perhaps Samantha should have considered this snub last year when she said of her half-sister:
“Hollywood has changed her. I think her ambition is to become a princess…The truth would kill her relationship with Prince Harry.”
To Markle’s credit, she has never engaged Grant in any kind of back-and-forth.
We certainly can’t imagine her responding to these sorts of taunts.
Especially not when she has to concern herself these days instead with talk that Prince William has been cheating on her.
We strongly doubt that claim, which you can read more about via the link directly above.
But let’s just say this:
We actually believe it’s more likely that Williams stepped out on Markle than Meghan ever extends a wedding invitation to Samantha Grant.

Jerry Seinfeld Explains Total and Complete Snub of Kesha
Jerry Seinfeld may have starred on the funniest sitcom in the history of the universe, but he took a page from one of the few shows that can make this same claim earlier in the week.
Approached by Kesha on the red carpet of an event in New York City and asked for a hug, Seinfeld went all Arrested Development on the singer, basically replying:
NO TOUCHING!
Three times.
Seinfeld was forced to reject Kesha on three separate occasions when she repeatedly pushed to wrap her arms around the iconic comedian while he was giving an interview.
Taken aback by the request, Seinfeld simply replied “no thanks” when Kesha said she wanted to give him a hug.
Then he said it again. And again after that because Kesha just wouldn’t accept the unexpected rejection.
“I don’t know who that was,” Seinfeld told the reporter following the awkward interaction.
It was Kesha, the journalist responded.
“Well, I wish her the best,” Seinfeld said, laughing pretty hard over the whole thing.
The incident (which you simply HAVE to watch above) went viral for two reasons:
1. It was hilarious.
2. It was the rare occasion when a celebrity showed his or her true self. There was no artifice here. There was no concern on Seinfeld’s part over how he might come across. He simply didn’t want to give someone a hug… so he chose not to.
And he chose not to in simple, kind fashion.
The snub went made headlines across the Internet, prompting Seinfeld to explain himself at the GOOD+ Foundation and MR PORTER Fatherhood Lunch on Thursday
“I’m 63, I don’t know every pop star … I don’t know everyone,” he said, adding: I’m not [a hugger].”
It’s true.
If Kesha really were as big a fan of the comedian’s as she claims to be, she’d remember the entire Seinfeld episode he dedicated back in the day to his disdain for greeting someone with a peck on the cheek.
And that was a reference to someone he knows!
“I was right in the middle of an interview, it was a little off,” Seinfeld added of the viral moment.
“When you get to be my age and you’ve done a couple things, you have your own reality, in my reality … I don’t hug a total stranger.
“I have to meet someone, say ‘hello.’ I gotta start somewhere … hug isn’t first moment of a human, two humans. I never did that.”
Jerry would have needed to respond by asking What’s the deal with random hugs?!? for this response to truly be classic Seinfeld. But it came pretty close.
The actor proceeded to joke that he has a “borderline harassment case” on his hands if he chose to make a big deal of it.
But then he turned a tad bit serious in wanting to make sure Kesha wasn’t too offended.
“I’m sure I would’ve liked her,” Jerry told Extra. “But I need to know who are you.”
It doesn’t help that Kesha has dropped the dollar sign from her name and rid her face of all glitter.
Perhaps if she kept both those things as part of her persona, and perhaps if she had yelled “TIMBER!” upon approaching Seinfeld, this situation could have been avoided, Jerry would have recognized her and a hug would have ensured.
We doubt it.
But it’s possible.
For the sake of our funny bone, however, we’re glad this wasn’t the case.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we need to scroll up and watch that video again.
