Joanna Gaines Bids Farewell to Fixer Upper

Whether Chip and Joanna Gaines quit Fixer Upper for their family or whether they quit over a horrible contract, Fixer Upper has come to an end.

Joanna is opening up on her blog and bidding the series a bittersweet farewell.

But she’s not saying goodbye to fans — because they can still keep up with the Gainses.

Writing on her blog, Joanna Gaines said farewell to the show that catapulted her family into the spotlight.

“Tonight marks the final episode of Fixer Upper — the series finale.”

That episode aired on Tuesday night.

“This season of life has been rewarding, challenging, unbelievably fast and furious and nearly everything in between.”

We have to admire that season of life line.

“Back in September when Chip and I posted the blog announcing that this season would be our last, it still seemed so far away.”

It’s been a half a year since the Gaineses announced that Fixer Upper would end after season 5.

“April felt like it was forever away, but somehow it snuck up on us.”

Time these days seems to pass at such a rapid pace, even if it still seems like food takes forever to arrive when you order it.

“Time is funny like that, the days sometimes seem long, but the weeks, months and even years fly past us when we least expect it.”

“I really loved this final Fixer Upper season because there was such a variety of styles and projects that really kept us on our toes.”

Even professionals like to be challenged sometimes.

“We did everything from an old barn out in the country to a downtown loft apartment.”

Those are about as different as it gets.

“We also got to do some pretty unique projects like my garden house, a new build for clients, our restaurant, and an ADA compliant house for two amazing boys and their family that we met through the Tim Tebow Foundation.”

They recently attended a Tim Tebow Foundation event.

“Oh, and of course tonight’s episode, where we do a renovation for a Rockstar!”

“We are grateful to all the families who joined in on this journey with us over the past five years — what an honor to be a part of their stories.”

Joanna thanks her fans … but also reminds them that the end of Fixer Upper doesn’t mean that she and Chip are just going to evaporate.

“I do want to take some time to update you on a bunch of things that are going on in our neck of the woods now that filming is over. We are so thrilled that our restaurant, Magnolia Table is finally up and running.”

Prepare to get hungry, folks.

“The whole project was a huge undertaking, and we are so happy that it is officially open! If you come visit the restaurant, some of Chip’s favorites are the Farm Eggs Benedict, tater tots, the bacon and eggs appetizer, and of course Chip’s Ham Sandwich.”

Did that make you a little more eager for your next meal? Joanna says that it had the same effect on her.

“I am currently craving the pancakes, chicken salad sandwich, lavender latte and the Gaines Bros Burger with the jalapeno drip jam. My stomach is growling as I type this!”

And speaking of food …

“We also finished my cookbook, Magnolia Table, which will be out April 24th. It’s a collection of recipes from my kitchen, our restaurant, and some of my favorites from family and friends.”

You know that she was going to plug her book projects, folks.

“Cooking is so special to me because time spent around the table with family and friends is such a gift. My hope is that this book inspires you in the kitchen and that you’ll find recipes that become tried and true favorites for your own family!”

But food isn’t her primary interest, of course.

“My passion is to help people in their own homes — you don’t have to be a designer to get it right. It’s not about rules and special formulas. I believe it starts by simply going with your gut and telling your story.”

And remember — Chip and Joanna didn’t start home design when Fixer Upper began.

“Many of you may know that we were doing construction and design years before the show came online.”

Yep. They have their own company.

“Our company Magnolia Design and Construction has been fixing up homes for over 15 years now and we don’t plan on stopping any time soon!”

If you want to see some of those, just follow her blog.

“We have some big projects in the works and we are currently renovating a few flip houses and building about 20 new homes here in town. I will be posting some pictures soon — I can’t wait for you to see all of these new designs.”

And she has some adorable news about the Gaines household.

“And now for a quick update on the home front. Chip continues to increase our pet population. He recently surprised us all with a new kitten AND a new puppy. Oh, sweet Chip…”

“For us, the end of this final season marks the beginning of a new one.”

She is of course referring to her pregnancy.

“If you would have told me that I’d end this season of the show pregnant with our fifth baby, I would’ve laughed.”

“Like the entire Fixer Upper opportunity as a whole, life has a way of surprising us.”

But she’s adapted, and has flaunted her baby bump in a little black dress.

“With our little ones getting bigger, we had this gut feeling that it was time to step back and focus on them and our businesses here in Waco, Texas.”

And she credits providence with this happy coincidence.

“And although that’s why we thought we decided to step away from the show, we now realize with this little one on the way that there was a bigger plan in place for us all along.”

“Season Five’s Behind the Design episodes will start airing next Tuesday, which will give you an in-depth look into the process and also some rooms you didn’t get to see in the original reveal.”

So, you see, Fixer Upper is ending but the Gainses really aren’t going away just yet.

“Today is really bittersweet for us. Fixer Upper is the thing that introduced our family to yours, and every Tuesday night for the past five years, we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen.”

It’s so touching how much she and Chip admire their fans.

“We’ve said it many times, but it’s worth saying again — thank you to everyone who has walked beside us on this journey.”

And she thanks both old fans and the new ones.

“Whether you watched every single show since season one or you are just now tuning in, you all have been a part of this and Chip and I will always be grateful for your support.”

Joanna Gaines Bids Sad Farewell to Fixer Upper

The final season of Fixer Upper is yet to begin.

And yet the final season of Fixer Upper is also over for Chip and Joanna Gaines.

The beloved HGTV stars have completed filming new episodes of their network’s highest-rated series, wrapping up the finale this past weekend.

In response to her last time showing a couple just what she and her husband did to improve their home, Joanna shared the following image and caption.

“Today was the final reveal… We definitely felt the emotion behind each of those steps leading up to the big canvas. We love you Fixer Upper. Season premiers on November 21.”

Gaines added the hashtag #savedthebestseasonforlast.

In late September, Chip and Joanna surprised fans when they announced Fixer Upper was coming to an end.

Ratings remain very strong and we’re sure HGTV executives wanted the couple to continue on as hosts… but they just needed a break.

“We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause,” said the parents of four at the time, adding by way of explanation:

“Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger…

“This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment.

“Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses.”

It’s not as though Chip and Joanna will be receding much from the spotlight, even after Fixer Upper is no longer on the air.

They just signed a clothing line deal with Target and Chip just came out with a memoir.

Yes, removing shooting obligations enables the stars to spend more time at home with their children (Drake, 12; Ella, 11; Duke, 9; and Emmie Kay, 7) – but these are two very busy and successful people.

They will remain busy and successful for many years to come.

“We really don’t know [if this is the end of us on TV]. I feel hopeful for whatever it is,” Joanna told People Magazine a few weeks ago.

She continued:

“We have a real-life business on the ground in Waco, Texas, and we are opening a restaurant in January and February.

“There are lot of things, we just got to get on the ground and be a really big part of that as these things are kind of still going.”

We can confirm that the final season of Fixer Upper – the best one EVER, apparently – will be comprised of 19 episodes.

And we can also confirm that we’ll be watching each and every one of them.

We love you, Chip and Joanna!

Pamela Anderson Cries Over Hugh Hefner, Bids Poetic Farewell

As noted in the slideshow below, a host of celebrities have gathered on social media to say goodbye to Hugh Hefner.

The Playboy founder, who died this week at the age of 91, came into contact at various points with nearly everyone in Hollywood, while helping to shape the careers of such stars as Kim Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson and Pamela Anderson.

And perhaps no one is taking his death harder than the former Baywatch beauty.

Anderson was so closely associated with Playboy that she graced the cover of its final nude issue in late 2015, prior to the magazine ridding its page of all naked models.

(This was a decision it then reversed, thankfully, just over a year later.)

To honor the man who made her a household name and for whose publication she stripped down on numerous occasions, Anderson shared a poem with her Instagram followers.

She also posted a video in which she fights back tears for nearly a full minute before finally steadying herself long enough to simply say “Goodbye, Hef.”

Check out that emotional video here:

In her poem, titled Goodbye #Hef,” the actress looked back at her friendship with the iconic publisher as follow:

Mr Hefner / I have so many thoughts, I have no brain n right now to edit / I am me because of you / You taught me everything important about freedom and respect.

Outside of my family / You were the most important person in my life. / You gave me my life… People tell me all the time / That I was your favorite… / I’m in such deep shock. / But you were old, / your back hurt you so much.

Last time I saw you / You were using a walker. / You didn’t want me to see. / you couldn’t hear. / You had a piece of paper in your pocket you showed me – / with my name Pamela with a heart / around it.

Now, / I’m falling apart. / This feeling is so crazy. / It’s raining in Paris now. / I’m by the window. / Everything anyone loves about me is because you understood me. / Accepted me / and encouraged me to be myself.

Love like no one else. / Live recklessly / With unfiltered abandon. / You said the magazine was about a girl like me. That I embody the spirit you fantasized about. ‘ I was the one. /You said.

Over the years, Anderson covered Playboy a record 14 times.

She signed her poem “Your Pamela” and concluded it like this:

I can hear you say – / Be brave. / There are no rules. / Live your life / I’m proud of you. / There are no mistakes.

And with men – / Enjoy … (Your wonderful laugh) / You have the world by the tail / You are a good girl / And / you are so loved – / You are not crazy. / You are wild and free

Stay strong, / Stay vulnerable. … ‘It’s movie time’ / You loved my boys … You were always, always there for us. / With your love / Your crazy wisdom.

I will miss your everything. / Thank you for making the world a better place. / A freeer and sexier place/

You were a gentleman / charming, elegant, chivalrous / And so much fun. / Goodbye Hef.

Emotional stuff.

May Hugh Hefner rest in peace.

NOTE: You likely knew Anderson posed for Playboy, but did you know the stars above did as well?!?

Al Roker Bids Emotional Farewell to Tamron Hall

Well, that escalated quickly.

And, based on what we"ve been hearing via the rumor mill, it also escalated in rather bitter fashion.

Just a few weeks ago, Megyn Kelly left Fox News and joined NBC.

Both the journalist and network executives then confirmed that Kelly would be hosting some kind of five-days-a-week series for her new home… and that it would air each morning, disrupting the four-hour block of Today Show programming that has been in place for yeas.

Whether Kelly"s show airs at 9am or 10am, it became public knowledge that Tamron Hall and Al Roker would no longer anchor their very own hour.

Therefore, in response, Hall chose not to sign a new contract with NBC.

"The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I"m grateful. I"m also very excited about the next chapter," Hall said via statement, adding:

"To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you."

With Hall already gone from Today, Roker took a few moments this morning to address the awkward and unfortunate turn of events.

"As some of you may have heard by now, our good friend Tamron Hall has decided to leave NBC News," said the veteran weatherman.

"Personally, Tamron has been not just a cohost on Today for the past three years, but a good friend – and to not just me, but to all of us here.

"We want to wish her nothing but the best, much continued success, and we cannot wait to see what her next chapter is."

Megyn Kelly Bids Farewell to Fox News Viewers

Megyn Kelly spent most of Tuesday night addressing various political stories on the latest episode of The Kelly File.

But she then addressed a topic far more personal to herself and all those watching at home:

Her impending departure from Fox News.

Indeed, hours before going on the air yesterday, Kelly confirmed that she has agreed to a deal with NBC.

Starting some time later this year, Kelly will host a daytime program Monday through Friday and then a Sunday evening news program of some kind.

She will also contribute to the coverage of breaking news on NBC.

After releasing a statement on her Facebook page about the career decision, Kelly touched on the topic toward the end of her show last night.

"Finally tonight, a personal and professional note from me to you," the anchor said.

"After more than dozen years at Fox News, I have decided to pursue a new challenge.

"This was a tough decision for me because I love this show, our staff, my crew, our colleagues here at Fox and you, all of you:

"Those who write me the lovely handwritten notes asking about my kids and even those who very rarely complain on Twitter about our coverage after a show or a presidential debate."

Kelly then got all profound and discussed the "human connection" she has formed with viewers during her time on air.

Watch her emotional farewell address below:

Mark Hamill Bids Heartbreaking Farewell to Carrie Fisher

Carrie Fisher passed away on December 27.

In the immediate aftermath of this shocking and tragic turn of events, nearly all of Hollywood gathered on social media to pay their respects to the Star Wars actress.

But a handful of new tributes have made the Internet rounds over the past couple days.

And these come from people who knew Fisher best.

To ring in 2017, for example, daughter Billie Lourd released her very first statement.

It was a response to all her social media followers who have wished the actress well in the wake of both Carrie Fisher dying (her mom) and Debbie Reynolds dying (her grandmother).

“Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist,” Lourd wrote on Instagram, adding:

“There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my own and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me.”

Then, actress Joely Fisher, Carrie’s half-sister, penned a lengthy guest column for The Hollywood Reporter in which said she and Carrie had planned to sped Christmas together.

Which did end up happening.

But it involved Joely sitting alongside Carrie in the hospital.

“You all lost Princess Leia and Carrie Fisher; I lost my hero, my mentor, my mirror,” Fisher wrote. “My brother Todd has lost his sister and his mother, whom he has said will lay to rest together.

“There is no universe where these ladies are not due their appropriate pedestals, and both will be memorialized in separate ceremonies in coming weeks.

“We will honor these two magical people who have left the tribe in the way they lived, with grandeur and grace. I will soldier on.”

And now Mark Hamill is here to pay tribute to Carrie Fisher.

The former Star Wars icon has done so in his own letter, which has also been published by The Hollywood Reporter.

It opens as follows:

“Carrie and I occupied a unique area in each other’s lives. It was like we were in a garage band together that somehow hit it huge. We had no idea the impact Star Wars would have on the world.

“I remember we were out on tour right before the movie opened. By the time we got to Chicago, there was a crowd at the airport. I said, ‘Hey look, you guys, there must be somebody famous on the plane.’ I was looking around to see who it might be.

“And then in the crowd I saw a kid dressed in a Han Solo vest. Then I saw girl dressed like Princess Leia. I said, ‘Oh my God, look, Carrie – there’s somebody dressed just like you. She’s got the buns on her head!"”

How did Hamill feel when he met Fisher in 1976, just prior to filming Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope? Bowled over, he wrote.

“She was just so instantly ingratiating and funny and outspoken. She had a way of just being so brutally candid. I’d just met her but it was like talking to a person you’d known for 10 years….

“She just sucked you into her world.”

Especially in her later years, Fisher would become well known for her sense of humor.

But Hamill had a front row seat to it from the very beginning.

“I would do crazy things to amuse her on the set,” Hamill writes. “Making her laugh was always a badge of honor…The lengths I would go to hear her laugh – there were no limits. I loved her and loved making her laugh.”

Hamill continued, documenting over four decades of friendship with Fisher.

“Part of what was so poignant about her was that she was vulnerable, that there was this glimmer of a little girl that was so appealing and it roused the protective nature in my personality…

“We ran the gamut over the years, where we were in love with each other, where we hated each other’s guts… We went through it all. It’s like we were a family.”

Best of all, Hamill told The Hollywood Reporter that Fisher “was able to make you feel like you were the most important thing in her life. I think that’s a really rare quality.”

He concluded:

“She was a handful. She was high maintenance. But my life would have been so much drabber and less interesting if she hadn’t been the friend that she was.”

Amber Rose Bids Farewell to Dancing with the Stars, Maksim Chmerkovskiy

SPOILER ALERT:

Amber Rose is no longer Dancing with the Stars.

The model/talk show host/ex-girlfriend of Kanye West/lover of masturbation for unusual reasons was eliminated from the ABC competition last night.

But it doesn’t sound like Rose is bitter.

She isn’t making like Donald Trump any longer and claiming that the results are rigged.

Instead, Rose is merely grateful for the opportunity, most notably for being teamed up with attractive professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Soon after her elimination on Monday evening, Rose penned a heartfelt note to Chmerkovskiy on Instagram.

“Although our time was cut short@maksimc I’m so happy I had the chance to experience this with you!” the 32-year-old wrote alongside a photo of the partner striking a silly pose together (below).

Added Amber:

“You truly are my brother for life! Who knew we would become so close in such a short amount of time? Thank you for not giving up on me and getting to know the real me with no judgment I’ll love you forever for that reason and I’ll always have ur back through whatever.

“I’ll miss our stressed out rehearsals more then anything tho Love Amberony.”

And the feelings of affection and respect appear to be mutual.

Here is how Chmerkovskiy responded to Rose’s sweet words:

“My dearest Amberony!

“Thank you for some of the best weeks of my @dancingabc career! You’ve not let me down and only made me more and more proud each week.

“You’ve become a friend and an older sister (although you’re younger….you know what I mean :)), and this is definitely just the beginning of ‘Amber and Maks."”

The mover and shaker wasn’t even done.

He concluded as follows:

“This experience got cut short and I wish we would have just a few more weeks, but it happened exactly as it were meant to and I have absolutely no regrets.

“The world has yet to see what you can really do and I can’t wait to be in your corner when it does…. Love, Me.”

Before anyone makes any sort of comment about how these two need to get a room, keep in mind:

Chmerkovskiy is expecting a baby with his fiancee, Peta Murgatroyd.

And soon after the elimination news was announced on the show, he declared:

“I’m ready for diaper duty.”

As you can see above, Rose performed some memorable routines during her run on Dancing with the Stars.

It helped expose her to more of a mainstream audience than usual, which will be considered a win for Rose in the long run.

We’ll see what this means for the rest of her career, as we await to discover how Amber capitalizes on the attention.

Until then, we’re guessing she’ll pose for a few more selfies on Instagram.

Michael Weatherly Bids Hilarious, Heartfelt Farewell to NCIS

CBS viewers will not be without Michael Weatherly for very long.

Yes, the actor departed his role of Tony on NCIS Season 13 Episode 24, as the Special Agent learned that Ziva was dead and that he was a father and felt an understandable need to step away.

But Weatherly will star on the new drama Bull this fall… which just so happens to also be scheduled for Tuesday nights on CBS.

Still, after 13 years as Tony, Weatherly felt a need to thank fans personally for their passion and dedication, recording a hilarious video with the network in order to get his points across.

"I have experienced great joy, great sadness, great dislocation, confusion, anger and sometimes hunger on the set of NCIS," Weatherly says in the video below.

"But the one thing I"ve never felt was bored or that there was nobody watching because you have made this show the number one show in the world."

Mixing humor with true sentiment, the actor added:

“I want to say that wherever I go, whatever men’s room or restaurant or airport I find myself in, you’re there, too… you’re with me.

“Sometimes it’s appropriate, sometimes it’s not appropriate at all, but I always love it because I am the number one fan of NCIS. I know you guys share that, but I just want you to know that I have priority because I got there first.

"So I don’t want to get competitive about it, and I appreciate that you’re also fans, but I’m the first fan."

Along with this video, Weatherly shared a series of Tweets reaffirming his love for the NCIS fandom.

He also shared pictures from a special finale-night reunion with former on-screen love Cote de Pablo, who played Ziva and who left the show a couple years ago.

Watch Weatherly"s full message to fans below:

Patton Oswalt Bids Emotional Farewell to Michelle McNamara

Patton Oswalt has released his first public statement since the sudden, tragic and unexpected death of his wife.

On April 21, Michelle McNamara died in her sleep at the age of 46.

A countless number of celebrities responded to the death by sending their condolences to Oswalt via various forms of social media.

And now the comedian/actor has gone ahead and done the same, in beautiful fashion.

“She wrote lines that stung & hummed. 13 years in her presence was happily humbling. #RIPMichelleMcNamara,” Oswalt Tweeted on Friday, including with his message a link to make a donation in McNamara’s honor to 826LA.

That’s organization which assists students with their writing skills.

McNamara, who was mostly worked as a crime writer, married Oswalt in 2005.

The pair were parents to a seven-year-old daughter named Alice.

No cause of death has been given, for this tragedy, although Oswalt’s publicist said last week that her passing was “a complete shock to her family and friends, who loved her dearly.”

An official at the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office told People Magazine it would most likely take several months to determine a cause of death because the office has a backlog of cases.

While it’s understandable that people would be curious for an answer, of course, nothing changes the terrible fact that Oswalt is now without a wife and Alice is without a mother.

McNamara founded the website True Crime Diary.

She also wrote and recorded podcasts about true crime, while appearing on the Investigation Discovery series A Crime to Remember.

She once said she was mostly intrigued by cases that weren’t necessarily garnering major headlines, and also that she started her website at Oswalt’s behest.

At the time of her passing, McNamara was working on a book about a serial killer she dubbed The Golden State Killer, whom she wrote a series of pieces about in Los Angeles Magazine.

We send along our thoughts and prayers to Oswalt and his family.
