Rick Perry: Joining Dancing With the Stars!

Dancing With the Stars returns to ABC in just a few weeks for another season of celebrities dancing for your entertainment.

The show has got a bit long in the tooth in recent years. That’s kind of what happens when you’re on the air for over 10 years.

With ratings sagging, producers are eager to right the ship and make the show more lucrative to ABC.

The full cast announcement is expected to be released on August 30, 2016.

We now know one of the names appearing on the show.

That honor goes to Rick Perry

If you have no idea who the heck that is, don’t fret. We have you covered.

Perry is a former Texas Governor, who was a Republican presidential candidate in both 2012 and 2016.

Basically, he’s someone you’d expect to appear on the struggling competition series.

There’s been a lot of rumblings recently about who else will be joining the show.

There was word recently that Amber Rose had signed up and was allegedly causing drama from the get-go.

Say what you want about Amber, but she should have no trouble pulling in the younger demographics for the show.

The producers will have known about her reputation for not taking BS from anyone, so that probably factored in their decision to pursue her.

Another big name attached to the show is Ryan Lochte. He’s the idiot who fabricated what really went down in Rio.

Ryan being part of the cast just screams desperation, but viewers will no doubt want to see what the dude is really like.

All they need to do is watch the opening segment of What Would Ryan Lochte Do? and they’ll have their answer.

With that said, Ryan needs to make some money in the wake of his endorsements falling through.

Dude needs to stop lying.

What do you think about the latest casting details for the show?

Julianne Hough and Derek Hough: Both Returning to Dancing with the Stars!

Dancing with the Stars just got a whole lot better looking.

According to E! News, both Julianne Hough and Derek Hough will make their returns to the ABC competition this fall, ensuring an uptick of drool on living room floors around the nation.

Because both are really attractive, that’s our point.

Derek Hough will be the partner of one very lucky contestant on Season 23, while Julianne Hough will once again serve as a judge.

This sadly means she’ll have less time this fall to head out on to the water with friends and show fans her naked butt.

We’re not being crass. We’re just explaining something that happened last week.

See:

ABC does not comment on casting for the show, but E! News insists it has this information from a reliable source.

We’ll know for absolute certain on August 30 when Good Morning America comes out with the full cast list for Season 23.

“It’s kind of fun,” Derek told E! of Dancing with the Stars, adding:

“Broadway’s one of my plans, it’s in my cards, it’s happening, but right now it’s leaving me open. Plans change a little bit, so now I have some time to create some fun opportunities, some fun things, including Hairspray.”

Indeed, Hough will also be starring in NBC’s Hairspray Live! as Corny Collins this year.

With this decision, Hough joins fellow professional movers and shakers Maksim and Val Chmerkovskiy,  Gleb Savchenko, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold and Sasha Farber on Season 23.

Derek is a six-time program champion who last conquered all comes with Bindi Irwin as his partner on Season 21.

As for his gorgeous sister?

Julianne is returning for her third season as Dancing with the Stars panelist after sitting out Season 22.

After she left last year, producer Rob Wade made it very clear that she could return at any time.

“Julianne will always be a part of the Dancing with the Stars family and we hope to see her back in the ballroom in the future,” he told People Magazine.

As for the sort of famous dancers who Julianne will be judging and Derek either teaming with or trying to take down?

Thus far, Amber Rose, Ryan Lochte, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Terra Jole, Jake T. Austin and JoJo Fletcher have been rumored for the competition.

Simone Biles, who would clearly have won if she entered, said her schedule won’t permit her to participate on Season 23.

But it sounds as if she may very well take part on Season 24 this spring, meaning no other star should bother showing up. She’s going to win.

Tell us: are you psyched to have both Hough siblings back where they belong?

Babyface to Bring Smooth Mug, Moves to Dancing with the Stars

Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is going Dancing with the Stars!

This news isn’t exactly as controversial as the possibility of Ryan Lochte coming on board Season 23 of the ABC competition, but still.

Babyface can really sing!

The artist has won 11 Grammy Awards and was honored with the 2,508th star of the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 10, 2013.

Throughout his career, Babyface has also won the BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year trophy an incredible seven times, while also earning a total of 51 BMI Awards, which includes Song of the Year for his Toni Braxton hit, “Breathe Again” in 1994.

Edmonds pretty much dominated the R&B charts in the 1980s and ’90s with such hits as “Every Time I Close My Eyes,” “Whip Appeal” and “When Can I See You.”

He’s also known for producing and writing hits for such huge names as Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Ariana Grande.

Multiple outlets (Us Weekly, E! News) have confirmed the Babyface casting, though, as usual, ABC is yet to release a statement.

The network will announce the full Season 23 cast on Good Morning America on August 30.

Thus far, however, it sounds strongly as if Babyface will Foxtrot alongside the following D-Listers:

JAKE T. AUSTIN.

AMBER ROSE.

JOJO FLETCHER.

We also know that veteran professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy, – whose fiancée, Peta Murgatroyd, is pregnant with their first child – is also scheduled to return after a multiple season hiatus.

Producers of the ABC dance competition have repeatedly offered former President Bill Clinton a slot, which is hilarious, also reached out to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.

The gold medalist could not squeeze in Dancing with the Stars this fall, but it sounds like she’d be game to do so in the spring.

“I would love to do Dancing With the Stars, but so far we have a three-month tour after this Olympics,” Biles told E! News.

The new season of Dancing With the Stars premieres on ABC September 12 at 8/7c.

Are you excited to see Babyface?

Do you think he has a chance to win?

Terra Jole: Little Women LA Star Joining Dancing With The Stars?

Terra Jole gave birth to a baby boy on August 1st, but it looks like she won’t on maternity leave much longer.

Sources tell Entertainment Tonight that the Little Women: LA star has officially signed on for season 23 of Dancing With The Stars, which returns September 12th at 8 p.m. on ABC.

New moms are usually told to stay away from exercise for six weeks after giving birth (longer for C-sections), and rehearsals for the upcoming season are most definitely under way.

Jole’s doctor may have given her the green light, because there’s a mirror ball involved and her this kind of a project could do wonders for her career.  Health scmealth, am I right?

According to ET, a sneak peek at Little Women: LA’s mid-season episode shows a pregnant Jole belly dancing with friends.  Producers might try to edit that as a link to her participation on DWTS.

Jole, 36, and her husband, Joe Gnoffo are also parents to daughter, Penelope, 1.  Jole hasn’t made a comment about the rumor, since participants are sworn to secrecy until the big reveal, which usually happens on Good Morning America.

Other participants who reportedly signed on for season 23 are Amber Rose, Ryan Lochte, former Disney star Jake T. Austin and General Hospital’s Emma Samms.

I’m psyched to see Rose as part of the line-up.  She’ll add a little spice to what is otherwise considered kind of a goody two-shoes run.  And of course, there’s Lochte.

Though the network doesn’t officially comment on casting rumors, it has confirmed the return of professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who hasn’t been on the show since 2014.

Other pros who are part of this next season are Maksim’s younger brother Val, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold, Gleb Savchenko., Allison Holker, Sasha Farber, Emma Slater, Witney Carson, and Artem Chigvintsev.

Dancing With The Stars returns to ABC on September 12th at 8 p.m.

Ryan Lochte Should Not Go Dancing with the Stars: A Commentary

Multiple sources have now confirmed that Ryan Lochte may go Dancing with the Stars.

He may be one of the many D-Listers chosen to compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy on Season 23.

This casting decision has not been finalized, so we may be jumping the gun a bit.

But we can’t help it. We need to state the following, even if its premature:

Ryan Lochte should absolutely NOT go Dancing with the Stars.

Over the past two weeks, Lochte has been exposed as a liar.

But not even just a liar. He’s been exposed as the worst kind of liar; someone who blames other people for his own actions and who clearly thinks he’s above it all.

Lochte’s BS story about having been robbed at gunpoint in Rio was the epitome of privileged white behavior.

He had no problem throwing another country under the bus (or the taxi, in this case, we suppose), assuming the world would simply believe that corrupt Brazilian police would have tried to take advantage of a foreigner.

In reality, it was that foreigner who was the one who was corrupt.

As is so often the case, the cover-up has been nearly worse than the (non) crime.

Lochte couldn’t even apologize properly to Matt Lauer over the weekend, hemming and hawing and watching his words and never even admitting in these interviews that he lied.

That was it. He straight up, totally and completely lied.

He also left his teammates hanging, jetting back home to the United States the day after his drunken act of idiocy took place.

Those teammates had their passports confiscated and were taken into custody, grilled over what the heck happened early one morning in a Rio gas station.

(The answer: Lochte tore down a sign and vandalized a gas station for no apparent reason.)

So Lochte got drunk… got violent… lied about his behavior… and then failed to take full responsibility for his actions.

Now he wants to rehabilitate his image. And ABC is really going to act like a conduit in this overt PR play?

We know, we know: we’re talking about Dancing with the Stars here. It’s a reality TV competition. It hasn’t exactly acted like a symbol of morality in the past.

This is a program that has promoted an endless array of former Playboy centerfolds as contestants, from Pamela Anderson to Kendra Wilkinson to Elisabetta Canalis.

We mean, Kim Kardashian was once a contestant. There’s clearly not any real standard of decency here.

And yet. Still.

This feels different somehow.

It’s one thing for a washed-up actress to desperately cling to her last chance to make a headline. We get that. And we don’t care if Dancing with the Stars wants to help her with that.

It’s helping itself, too, of course, as viewers love the sort of nostalgia that someone such as Shannen Doherty brings.

But Ryan Lochte isn’t washed up. He doesn’t need publicity. He just needs POSITIVE publicity because he acted like a total doofus.

And, as evidenced below, not for the first time.

So producers want to help revitalize Lochte’s image? Give us a break.

He created this mess.

He can be the one to try and get out of it by maybe doing some community service… by issuing a real apology… by taking stock of his life and how thinks he can still act this way at age 32.

There are many options at his disposal.

Doing the Foxtrot in front of millions of viewers should not be one of them.

Ryan Lochte to Go Dancing With the Stars in Wake of Rio Scandal?

By now, you’ve almost certainly heard about the scandal that followed American swimmer Ryan Lochte home from the Rio Olympics.

In case you were distracted by real news like Simone Biles’ insane abs, here’s a brief rundown:

Lochte claimed he was robbed at gunpoint along with three of his teammates after a night of partying in Rio.

Inconsistencies emerged, authorities investigated, and it eventually emerged that Lochte was lying about the whole thing.

Well, almost the whole thing.

There was some sort of ugly incident, and Lochte maintains there was a gun involved, but he wasn’t robbed, and accounts concur that he was the one who instigated the whole thing.

In fact, the alleged gun-wielder was most likely a security guard trying to stop Lochte and company from vandalizing a gas station.

Anyway, the whole thing has understandably left quite a blemish on Lochte’s athletic achievements.

He’s lost endorsement deals with Speedo and several other brands, and by some estimates he stands to lose as much as $ 5 million as a result of the scandal.

At best, he’s an Internet laughingstock:

At worst, he’s the embodiment of the “ugly American.”

So what is Lochte doing to rebuild his brand?

Well, if a recent report from Radar Online is to be believed, the disgraced 32-year-old is planning to hop out of the pool and compete on Dancing With the Stars:

“Lochte has agreed to season 23 of Dancing With The Stars,” an insider close to the Olympian tells the site.

“This is all part of a well-orchestrated and carefully planned career redemption tour being organized by some of the best public relations advisors and crisis managers in the business.”

Apparently, Lochte’s team believe that it’s the best way to showcase Lochte’s more likable traits to TV audiences:

“His people know that if the real Ryan Lochte is shown to America — via a medium such as Dancing With The Stars — people will realize that the incident in Rio was an aberration.”

Could be a smart move, or it could backfire horribly.

After all, Lochte had a reality show in 2013, and it didn’t exactly make the country fall in love with him.

(What Would Ryan Lochte Do? was canceled after just one season.)

But either way, it looks like this is a done deal:

“Ryan is the first of the big name signings and ABC will announce the move shortly,” says the source.

It’s hard to believe Lochte would make such a bold move so soon after being involved in a scandal.

Then again, this could be his team’s way of signaling that what happened in Rio is yesterday’s news.

Might not be the brightest thing for Lochte, but it’s sure to bring big ratings to DWTS.

We know we’ll be watching.

Amber Rose: Going Dancing with the Stars!

As previously reported, Amber Rose like jizz in her face.

We can now also report that Amber Rose likes to shake her groove thing… and that she’ll soon be doing it in front of millions of people.

Oh, yes, Amber Rose is going Dancing with the Stars.

According to E! News, that is, which claims Kanye West’s famous ex-girlfriend has signed on for Season 23 of the ABC competition.

Rose, of course, is known by now for plenty more than just having dated Kanye many years ago.

It will actually be interesting to see how Dancing with the Stars introduces her this fall, considering she’s worked as a reality star… and model… and author… and activist.

She currently hosts a talk show on VH1, however, so we’re guessing producers will go with that gig in her bio.

ABC has not actually commented on Rose participation, it’s worth noting.

The network always saves its official announcement of Dancing with the Stars competitors for Good Morning America, with this season’s cast set to be confirmed on August 30.

In the past, however, similar rumors have sprung up a few weeks prior to that announcement, with eerie accuracy.

We therefore feel very confident in telling readers to expect some Amber Rose waltzing and foxtrotting this fall.

Other D-Listers allegedly set to compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy will be The Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher and former Wizards of Waverly Place and The Fosters star Jake T. Austin.

There had been talk that Gold Medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles would also join this season, but it now looks as if her schedule won’t allow it.

“I would love to do Dancing with the Stars, but so far we have a three month tour after this Olympics,” Biles told E! News’ Zuri Hall at the P&G Family Home in Rio.

“I’m not sure if I’ll have time.”

She added, however, that she’d love to do it “in the spring.”

So you can pretty much book Simone Biles for Season 24.

A rep for awful Real Housewife Teresa Giudice, meanwhile, has shot down talk that his client will take part on Dancing with the Stars.

Thank goodness.

Who else will be announced as a cast member? Who else do you want to see?

If it helps you come up with some options, consider the professionals who actually have been confirmed by ABC for Season 23.

They will be:

Gleb Savchenko, Val Chmerkovskiy, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, Lindsay Arnold and Sasha Farber.

Dancing with the Stars Season 23: Who"s on Board?

Dancing with the Stars Spoiler Alert:

We already know who’s going to win!

Just kidding. Sort of.

According to multiple outlets, however, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles is set to sign on for Season 23.

She just won four Gold Medals and is considered by many to already be the best gymnast in U.S. history and we don’t think it’s going too far out on a limb to predict her victory.

We know Biles can move. We know she’s flexible. We know she has amazing hand-eye coordination.

Would you bet against her?!?

Moreover, though the years, gymnasts such as Nastia Liukin, Shawn Johnson and Biles’ teammate Aly Raisman have all fared well on the ABC competition.

E! News, meanwhile, also reports that JoJo Fletcher will go Dancing with the Stars this fall.

This would continue another tradition: the network recycling its own Bachelor and Bachelorette stars on the program.

Fletcher, of course, originally competed on Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor and just gave former football player Jordan Rodgers the final rose on The Bachelorette finale last month.

We don’t think it’s going out on too much of a limb to say that she will NOT win.

Finally, E! also claims Jake T. Austin is under serious consideration for Season 23.

This actor tarred on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place alongside Selena Gomez prior to landing a role on Freeform’s The Fosters from 2013-2015.

This would also follow the usual Dancing with the Stars form.

The series nearly always casts on young actor, often from a Disney program.

Carlos PenaVega and Janel Parrish come to mind as examples.

All of those who compete on Season 23 will be hoping to follow in the Mirrorball Trophy-winning footsteps of Nyle DiMarco.

The hunky model and actor became one of the few non-athletes to win the whole thing last year.

ABC has declined to comment on this initial casting report, but the complete season 23 announcement will take place on Good Morning America on Tuesday, August 30.

The competition will then kick off with the season premiere on Monday, September 12 at 8/7c on ABC.

How do you feel about these potential contestants?

Would Biles be the clear cut favorite heading into the competition?

Who else would you want to see give this gymnast a run dance for her money?

Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston: Dancing Up a Storm at Selena Gomez Concert!

We cannot say for certain at this time whether or not Tom Hiddleston is The One for Taylor Swift.

But we can say the following: The actor is definitely the one Swift likes to dance with on occasion.

TayTom

Hiddleston and Swift hit the dance floor at the MET Gala in New York City earlier this spring, although fans at the time were unaware there was anything romantic going on.

And perhaps there wasn’t.

It’s very possible the two were merely friends.

But it only took Swift a couple weeks to move on from Calvin Harris to Hiddleston this month, breaking up with the former and then being spotted kissing the latter in Rhode Island.

Since then, there’s been talk that Swift cheated on Harris with Hiddleston.

We don’t know about that.

We do know about this, however: Taylor and Tom totally attended a Selena Gomez concert in Nashville on Tuesday night and they were totally filmed by an attendee together…

… getting down and sort of dirty!

You can see the new lovebirds sharing some moves to the single “Same Old Love” in the video above.

“Taylor invited Tom to go. Tom always wants to please Taylor and show her that her friends matter. Taylor likes that about Tom,” an insider told E! News.

The stars watched the show alongside Swift’s good pal Abigail and her boyfriend, Matt.

Concert pics

Using Harris’ real first name, another source had the following to say to E! News about the TomTay romance:

“Taylor was hesitant to get involved so quickly after Adam.

“But she she felt that Adam was not giving her what she wanted for sometime, so she was ready to move on towards the tail end of their relationship anyway.”

The outlet concludes:

“She felt like she was a little school girl with a huge crush.

“She loves the fact that Tom acts like such a mature man. She loves that he is older. She feels very safe and protected with him. The attraction is very strong.”

We love it.

Go ahead and dance like no one is watching, you two crazy kids.

Even though, you know, the entire world is practically watching.

Peta Murgatroyd on Deaf Dancing With The Stars Partner Nyle DiMarco: "I Had My Doubts"

On May 23rd, the won the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy, but that doesn"t mean that Dancing With The Stars duo Peta Murgatroyd and Nyle DiMarco were always 100% positive they would emerge victorious.

In fact, Murgatroyd though the complete opposite when she learned she was going to be paired up with the deaf winner of America"s Next Top Model.

Murgatroyd, who hails from Perth, Australia, explained to the morning show that DiMarco comes from a family that has four generations of deaf members, and that he himself is 100% deaf.

"It was pretty challenging," the pro dancer told Australia"s Today show via satellite on March 27th.

"You know, when I first met him, I had to sit down and really strategise as to how I was going to get through the competition."

"I definitely had my doubts."

Murgatroyd explained how she not only got DiMarco to feel the rhythm, but she created an experiment that allowed viewers to understand what DiMarco experiences every week.

"We did do the silent dance, it was the paso doble. We cut the music for about four counts of eight," she explained. You know, I did that because I wanted to show America- and the world – what it"s like being in his position every Monday night.

It was scary, it was haunting, and people actually understood after that what he was going through and how crazy it is. He has this [built-in] rhythm in his body.  And I still, to this day, don"t know how he did it.

"We got through it with little scratches on his back to make him faster, we had pulls and pushes.

"It turned out great," she told the anchors.

"I mean, he did so well every single week and he just proved to people that anybody can dance and anybody can do this competition."

Dancing With the Stars Results: Who Took Home the Title?!

Season 22 of Dancing With the Stars has come to a conclusion, and another name has been added to the annals of Mirror Ball champions.

With finalists Nyle DiMarco, Paige Van Zant and Ginger Zee all within two points of one another, it all came down to America’s votes.

Would Nyle DiMarco’s inspiring message and groundswell of fan support be enough to overtake the two talented ladies in the group?

Could Ginger Zee put the exclamation mark on an incredible season and comeback from an injury that nearly knocked her out last week?

Or was it Paige, perhaps the most talented and consistent of all three, who would emerge with the most votes, and the title, on Tuesday?

Before the final results, the top three had to perform for the judges one last time with a routine that fused together multiple dance styles.

Moreover, they only had 24 hours to put it all together!

Perfect 30s went to Nyle and Peta for a cha cha/tango and Paige and Mark for a jive/salsa. Ginger and Val scored 27 with their foxtrot/tango.

Those scores combined with their scores from the past two weeks – all razor-thin margins – and America’s votes to decide the winner.

Let’s get down to the finals Dancing With the Stars results

After one of the closest finales ever, Season 22 has crowned its champion, and no matter what, he or she would be a deserving winner.

But congratulations to Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd!

The deaf America’s Next Top Model winner spent all season changing the dancing game and winning raves for his emotional performances.

There’s no doubt he earned it on merit, but overcoming what he has and endearing himself to fans undoubtedly played a big factor.

Do you agree? Or would you have voted otherwise?

MMA fighter Paige VanZant took second place, as ABC News chief meteorologist Ginger Zee ended up in the bronze medal position.

While we wish that all three of the final dancers could share the crown, we’d like to congratulate them on a job well done all season.

Nyle, meanwhile, joins this list of DWTS winners!
