George Clooney Hospitalized After Motorcycle Crash: Had He Been Drinking?

Frightening news out of Italy today, as George Clooney has been hospitalized following a motorcycle accident.

Clooney suffered several unspecified injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.

The actor’s wife, Amal Clooney, reportedly rushed to be by his side during treatment, and he has since been released to recover at home.

“His expected prognosis is 20 days to get better,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online.

Clooney has yet to speak to the press about the incident, but the driver of the Mercedes that struck his bike says it was a simple case of obstructed vision:

“I had the sun in my face, I did not see anything, I just felt a stroke,” said the driver, who has been identified only Antonello C.

An onlooker who claims to have witnessed the crash and its aftermath says Clooney appeared to be in a great deal of pain:

“Another car, a Mercedes, came from Olbia to Porto San Palo,” Giacamo D’angelo told Radar.

“The other car hit the motorcycle of George Clooney.”

D’Angelo added that Clooney “cried out in pain,” and “held his head in his hands.”

A full investigation has been launched, and it’s only expected to be a few days before the case is officially closed.

But interestingly, as straightforward as the accident appears to be, police have not yet ruled drugs and alcohol as possible causes of the crash.

Though it doesn’t appear that he’s ever had a serious problem with alcohol, Clooney’s love of drinking is no secret.

So perhaps it’s natural that certain media outlets have chosen to fixate on that aspect of the investigation.

But in all likelihood, this is a simple case of one or both drivers being briefly distracted and/or blinded by the sun.

Amal Clooney gave birth to twins just last year, and sources close to the family say George is a natural as a dad.

So it seems unlikely that George is motoring around Lake Como drunk off his ass.

But in order to hedge our bets, we’ll emphasize out that it’s unlikely …

… but certainly not impossible.

Ben Affleck Crashes Motorcycle: Did Alcohol Play a Role?

Back in December, Ben Affleck checked into rehab for the third time in 12 months.

Everything the actor does is news, and reports that Affleck was drinking again following his previous stint in treatment were widely reported in the tabloid press and on social media.

But it now looks as though in the weeks before he checked back into rehab, Ben managed to bury an incident that may shed light on his decision to seek further treatment.

According to Radar Online, Affleck was involved in a frightening motorcycle crash sometime last month.

No other vehicles were involved, and though he was thrown from his bike, Affleck reportedly emerged from the incident unscathed.

The actor was reportedly on his way to church at the time, and there’s no indication that he was intoxicated when he lost control of the motorcycle.

Of course, that’s not stopping skeptical fans from pointing out that the accident occurred within days of Ben’s most recent stint in rehab.

“Ben’s still pushing himself to the limits after the bust-up of his marriage to Jennifer Garner,” a source tells Radar.

“And this time, friends are worried he’s pushing himself too far,” the insider adds.

While Affleck didn’t appear to suffer any major injuries, friends and family are reportedly concerned that the Oscar winner may suffer long-term damage from a blow to the head:

“His head took the brunt of the fall” a source confirms.

“He was wearing a helmet, but God knows what sort of damage he may have suffered.”

Ben reportedly refused medical treatment and left the scene abruptly, which many are taking as another indication that he may have had an elevated BAC at the time of the crash.

“You can usually spot injuries with an X-ray or CT scan within the first 24 hours of a serious trauma to the head or neck,” trauma expert Dr. Stuart Fischer tells Radar.

“But without this kind of testing, serious injuries can go undetected for weeks, or even months–and by then it may be too late.”

Again, it does not appear that legal authorities have any reason to suspect Ben of driving while intoxicated.

But given that he was believed to be on the wagon at the time of the crash and was on his way to meet his children at church, he may have feared that trace amounts of booze were still in his system from the night before.

The actor might have had reason to flee the scene even though there was no possibility of legal charges.

After all, the court of public opinion can be much less sympathetic than a criminal judge.

Kim Kardashian Lets Daughter Ride Motorcycle, Hear It from Twitter

Kim Kardashian has something in common with Audrey Roloff.

A hit reality television show and a close-knit family?

Okay, yes.

Allow us to therefore rephrase:

Kim Kardashian now has something else in common with Audrey Roloff:

With the Little People, Big World star receiving unfair backlash as a result of THIS PHOTO, Kardashian is now also the target of Internet ire after sharing a picture of her daughter.

It appears to be a relatively harmless one at first glance.

It was posted to Kim’s Instagram page and it featured North West riding a toy two-wheeler.

What’s the big deal, right?

North is four and a half years old and this is a perfectly common thing for her to be doing.

We mostly agree.

But we may be in the minority.

Many comments in response to this image call Kim out for two reasons:

1. North is not wearing a helmet.


2. North is wearing Harley Davidson sweatpants.

The latter, critics argue, implies that Kim and Kanye are maybe encouraging motorcycle riding as a hobby for their first born when she gets older.

This is a dangerous activity under any circumstance.

But it’s made even more dangerous if the individual behind the wheel (or clutching the handlebars, we suppose) isn’t donning a helmet.

“sriously, Kim?!?” writes on Twitter user. “Bike safety starts early. Put a helmet on ur kid!”

Another individual agrees:

“It’s not about looking cool,” this person Tweets of helmet use. “It’s about being safe.”

North was born back in June of 2013.

She was later joined by brother Saint and the siblings will welcome a boy or a girl either later this year or early next year, as Kim has confirmed she and her famous husband are using a surrogate to expand their family.

According to insiders, this surrogate will give birth right around Christmas.

Shortly after that, Khloe Kardashian will give birth to her first child…

…. and Kylie Jenner will give birth to her third child.

Crazy, right?

Little North will soon have lots of cousins and kids with whom to play, so it will be important for her to serve as a role model; when it comes to bike safety and other activities.

Prince Michael Jackson Rushed to Hospital Following Motorcycle Accident

Prince Michael Jackson, the 20-year-old son of late music legend Michael Jackson, has been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital following a motorcycle accident, TMZ reports.

Currently, there’s no word on what caused the accident or who called the ambulance that hurried Prince to Cedars-Sinai.

Fortunately, Michael’s oldest son was tremendously lucky and suffered no major injuries in the crash.

In fact, he was in such sound condition that he was able to head straight to his next class at Loyola Marymount University after leaving the hospital.

Prince even joked about the crash on social media while he was still in the ambulance.

He posted the below photo of himself on a gurney, with a caption reading: 

“Well sh-t…”

No word yet on if and when Prince intends to get back on the bike.

Fortunately, these days things appear to be pretty stable in the Jackson family for the first time … ever?

After several years of bouncing around between caretakers, 15-year-old Blanket Jackson has a new guardian in uncle T.J. Jackson.

Meanwhile, Paris Jackson is still promoting body positivity and generally being a good role model for her young fan base.

All in all, it looks as though these kids are finally enjoying some firm footing after incredibly tumultuous childhoods.

Last we checked in on Prince, he was spearheading an initiative to find housing for you people who have aged out of foster care and at risk of becoming homeless.

“We have partnered with a charity called ‘A Sense of Home,’ which supports foster kids who have aged out of the system in a sort of preempt against homelessness because it’s very hard to get on your feet once you’ve gotten out of the system,” Prince told Robin Roberts in a rare TV interview earlier this year.

“As we were growing up my dad always said, ‘I really don’t care what you do in life, as long as you’re happy doing it and you’re the best at what you do. If you want to be a janitor at a high school, you should be the best janitor that you can be,"” he added.

Sounds like the kid’s got a good head on his shoulders.

He just might want to give the bike a break for a while.
