Verne Troyer Death Ruled Suicide by Alcohol Consumption

Verne Troyer committed suicide by drinking too much alcohol.

So states the official coroner’s report, which has come out about six months after the diminutive actor died at the age of 49.

On Wednesday morning, the Los Angeles Coroner’s Office closed its case on Troyer.

It did so by stating that the man best known for playing Mini-Me in the Austin Powers franchise died of “suicide” and the cause listed was “sequelae of alcohol intoxication.”

You don’t see that term or that cause of death listed very often.

(Sequelae translates to “a condition that is the consequence of a previous disease or injury.”)

When the 49-year-old was taken from his North Hollywood home to the hospital this spring, reports at the time indicated that he had three times the legal level of alcohol in his system.

The possiiblity that Troyer essentially drank himself to death on purpose was floated soon afterward by numerous sources and outlets.

But it had not been confirmed until now.

A year before he passed away, Troyer was also hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.

And, again, chatter that he was trying to kill himself at the time surfaced across the Internet.

Troyer even responded to this rumor in an Instagram post from April of 2017.

“I’ve been hearing from some concerned fans, so I’d like to address a very personal situation,” he wrote back then, adding:

“As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day.

Troyer added that he planned to check himself into a treatment center to “get the help that I need.”

Concluded the actor in this April 2016 message:

“I want to thank everyone that’s reached out with their messages of support, it truly means the world to me. With your support, I got this.”

Tragically, just barely over a year later, he was dead.

“Verne was the consummate professional and a beacon of positivity for those of us who had the honor of working with him,” Austin Power star Mike Myers said in a statement after his friend died.

He added this past April:

“It is a sad day, but I hope he is in a better place. He will be greatly missed.”

After this tragic event, Troyer’s family also released that referred to the small star as “an extremely caring individual” who “wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh.”

They said that for “anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible.”

Troyer was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital on April 3 with a blood alcohol content of more than three times the legal limit, according to this new official report.

The actor dialed 911 himself, repeatedly saying on the call and when he arrived to the emergency room that he wanted to die.

“Based on the history and circumstances as currently known, the manner of death is suicide,” Deputy Medical Examiner Martina Kennedy wrote in the coroner’s report this week.

Mel B to Enter Rehab for Sex, Alcohol Addiction

Mel B may typically be in the news these days for judging acts on America’s Got Talent, but the former Spice Girl is now making headlines for admitting to something personal.

The singer has got a very big problem.

She actually has two very big problems, according to an interview Brown gave to The Sun over the weekend.

Citing an “incredibly difficult” past six months, Brown says she is seeking professional treatment for alcohol addiction and sex addiction.

“I’ve been working with a writer on my book, Brutally Honest, and it has been unbelievably traumatic reliving an emotionally abusive relationship and confronting so many massive issues in my life,” Brown told the British publication, adding:

“I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on.”

Added the 43-year old:

“Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol – it is underneath all that.

“I am fully aware I have been at a crisis point. No one knows myself better than I do, but I am dealing with it.”

Back in April of 2017, things for very heated and very ugly between Brown and ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

The artist and NBC personality accused Belafonte at the time of abusing her physically and emotionally, while forcing her to have threesomes … and then blackmailing her by threatening to release secret tapes he had made of these encounters.

Brown even shared photos (such as the one below) of bruises she said she received a result of being punched and shoved by her husband.

Mel allegedly told friends at the time that she was afraid to go public with these allegations for awhile because she feared Belafonte would have her murdered.

According to a friend who spoke to The Sun, Brown responded to this trauma by becoming “sex-crazed” and even slept with three men in one day at one point.

She was looking for affection and comfort wherever she could find it.

But Brown now acknowledges she has serious personal demons and issues and will check into a rehab facility in England to deal with them.

“I am still struggling, but if I can shine a light on the issue of pain, PTSD and the things men and women do to mask it, I will,” Brown tells the newspaper, adding:

“I am speaking about this because this is a huge issue for so many people.”

In November of, 2017 the exes reached a private settlement and, in exchange for doing so, Brown withdrew her domestic violence restraining order against Belafonte.

In addition to her statement, Mel B tweeted “Knowledge is power” on Sunday, along with a link to a website detailing PTSD.

She also retweeted a post from her mother, Andrea Brown, mentioning Mel’s decision to enter rehab.

This is what it says:

I’m so proud of my daughter. She has the courage to face her demons head on and deal with them.

I know what hell she has been through and I know what trauma she has suffered and still suffers.

Do not judge because so many people have PTSD and try and numb the pain any way they can.

I am proud of her honesty and I am proud my daughter speaks out on a subject that affects so many people.

Selena Gomez: Avoiding Alcohol After Latest Stint in Rehab

Selena Gomez was recently spotted wearing semi-disastrous makeup. It’s also become clear that she regrets reuniting with Justin Bieber.

But she has bigger concerns, including her health. But she’s taking the steps that she needs to stay well.

Including, it’s reported, avoiding alcohol at all costs following her latest stint in rehab.

Page Six reports that Selena Gomez held a dry party at her California home last week to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

“Alcohol was not at the party.”

That’s what a dry party means.

“Selena is really focusing on her health.”

They mention that Selena did a two week stint in a luxury rehab facility, Prive-Swiss in Connecticut, back in February.

It is also mentioned that she reportedly continues to receive support of some kind from their program, though that could mean … almost anything.

“It was a family friendly party with a bouncy house and kids.”

Perhaps alcohol wouldn’t have been a good fit for that party, anyway.

In case you’re wondering if Selena has just decided that she’s done being fun, a couple of things.

One, drinking can be great, but if you need to drink to have fun, you have a problem. That’s not an insult, that’s a fact.

Two, we suspect that Selena’s focus on her health has to do with her ongoing battle with Lupus and the fact that she has only one kidney … a kidney donated to her by her very good friend Francia Raisa.

Kidneys are responsible for filtering your blood. A lot of people associate drinking with the liver, which is accurate, but heavy drinking can be hard on your kidneys.

We’re not suggesting that Selena is or has been a heavy drinker.

We’re just saying that she’s playing it safe and playing it smart because she values her life and her health.

Over the weekend, Selena joined her very good friend Taylor Swift at the Rose Bowl, which is a sporting event featuring college football.

Afterwards, Selena posted a selfie of the two of them being adorable together.

In the captions of the photo, she wrote:

“I’m grateful for those I surround myself with.”

Selena’s inner circle is very supportive.

“And this woman right here happens to be one of my favorites.”

That is so sweet.

“Love our tradition and I love you.”

Awwww!

Selena is obviously taking care of her health — her kidney transplant was less than a year ago, after all.

But some wonder if her party in California was as dry as it was for her sake, or for someone else’s.

First of all, it was a party for a friend.

Perhaps that friend is no longer drinking. Or hey, maybe a different friend who was invited isn’t drinking. A lot of people will go out of their way to accommodate those whom they love.

Or maybe there was no alcohol because it was a party featuring children. Not all parties are built alike, folks.

Someone who is avoiding alcohol for their health (or because they’re the designated driver, etc) rather than because they have a problem with alcohol can be around people drinking.

So let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill and assume that, if we see Selena toast with champagne, that she’s “off the wagon.”

But all of this is a reminder that Selena’s health issues did not go away when Francia gave her that life-saving kidney transplant.

Selena still has Lupus. And now she has to grapple with making sure that her body does not reject the donated kidney.

Her health battle will probably continue for a long time. She deserves so much better.

Verne Troyer Hospitalized for Suicidal Behavior, Alcohol Poisoning

Verne Troyer is an actor, stunt performer, and a comedian. Also, he once filmed a guy getting tasered at the airport. He’s a treat to follow on social media.

Unfortunately, he’s now been placed in an involuntary psychiatric hold after his loved ones worried that he might take his own life.

His team has released a statement.

TMZ reports that, on Monday night, police rushed to Verne Troyer’s home upon learning that the actor was allegedly suicidal.

The actor and comedian, who is known for many roles but is perhaps most recognizable for having portrayed Mini Me in Austin Powers, was reportedly also extremely upset and drunk.

His friends were concerned, and placed a call to police at 7:30 in the evening.

Troyer was taken the hospital for possible alcohol poisoning, and is under a 72-hour observation.

His team posted a message on Instagram.

Verne Troyer Message April 2018

They know that many fans keep up with the news and would eventually see the report about Troyer.

“Asking you to keep Verne in your thoughts and prayers.”

Of course.

“He’s getting the best care possible and is resting comfortably.”

That is very good to hear. This is a frightening situation.

“Appreciate the support from family, friends, and fans around the world.”

And they say that they’ll tell people more once they know more.

“We will keep you updated here.”

Sadly, as fans of Verne Troyer are all too aware, this is not the first time that he has had difficulties with his health.

It was almost exactly one year ago — on April 6th, 2017 — when he shared a grim message about his struggles with alcohol.

“I’ve been hearing from some concerned fans,” he wrote on Instagram. “So I’d like to address a very personal situation.”

And he is aware that fans are familiar with his history.

“As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past.”

Verne Troyer Message April 2017

“While it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day.”

That’s good. A willingness to wrestle with your own inner demons is a sure sign that there’s hope for your recovery.

“I’ve been receiving treatment for the last week and I am voluntarily checking into a treatment center later this week to continue to get the help that I need.”

It’s so good that he’s taking the necessary steps. Also kind of him to update his fans and followers.

“I want to thank everyone that’s reached out with their messages of support.”

Widespread support can mean a lot, even to a celebrity.

“It truly means the world to me.”

“With your support, I got this,” he concluded.

Unfortunately, not quite a year later, it sounds like he’s suffered a serious relapse.

We all wish Verne Troyer a speedy recovery — but we hope that he’s able to take the steps that he needs to make this recovery last, no matter how long it might take.

He is 49 years old, and we hope that he’s around for many more years. For his fans, but also for himself and his loved ones.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard: Drinking Alcohol on Instagram?!

Like millions of Americans, you might have shared a bottle of wine with your significant other on Valentine’s Day.

But because you’re not a Duggar (we assume) your massive social media following probably didn’t freak the eff out over it.

That’s a photo of Derick Dillard that Jill Duggar posted on Instagram.

“My hubby is the best,” she wrote.

“He totally turned our house into a steakhouse, serving me a wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner last night! #besthubby @derickdillard I love you babe!”

Nothing scandalous about that, right?

Well, normally there wouldn’t be, but the Duggars have strict rules about … well, everything, and one of the many, many things that’s strictly forbidden to them is alcohol.

Fans love catching Jim Bob and Michelle’s offspring breaking the insanely strict code of conduct they were raised under, so it’s not surprising that they zeroed right in on that bottle in Derick’s hand.

Is it really booze or some sort of sparkling cider, like you’d drink at a middle school dance?

It’s tough to say, but the Duggars aren’t talking, which has led many fans to conclude that Jill and Derick have been caught sampling satan’s bubbly.

Whatever the case, Jill and Derick really can’t catch a break these days.

Ever since Derick got fired by TLC for harassing a fellow network star on Twitter, Duggar obsessives have been watching their every move.

You might think it would be a good time for the Dillards to simply keep a low profile, but unfortunately, they don’t really have that option.

Throughout thair adult lives, Jill and Derick have supported themselves with monetary donations from Duggar fans.

Now that they no longer have those sweet reality TV dollars pouring in, those donations are their only means of supporting themselves.

As such, Jill and Derick have no choice but to continue engaging with fans.

Even if it means being accused of totally normal activities that her parents have decided are worth a one-way ticket to hell.

Watch Counting On online for more hypocritical behavior from reality TV’s most controversial family.
