The Voice Recap: A Surprise Guest Appears

The Top 11 performed on the latest episode of The Voice, and Gwen Stefani made a surprise appearance.

During the commercials, she started taking pictures with Blake, and it was all then shown on live TV. Yes, it all took place during a split screen, so there really is no hiding from the cameras.

Back to the performances. There were some real shockers, and we have all the details below!

Janice Freeman – “Shine” by Collective Soul

Janice’s performances have been a bit all over the place throughout the season, and this one was no different. One second she can have the best voice around, and then she starts shouting, and it ruins the whole thing.

Shaky performances are not good because they can be a sign that the person is just too nervous to own a song, and that could be her ultimate undoing.

Red Marlowe – “The Dance” by Garth Brooks

Red likes to show off his country voice, but this was not the best song to do it. The performance was average at best, and he struggled to hit some of the lower notes, and that’s a bit alarming.

As a whole, it was decent because it was just the low notes he struggled with, but it should be a cautionary tale for him to choose the right song in the future.

Shi’Ann Jones – “Listen” by Beyoncé

Performing a Beyoncé is no easy feat, but this was a surprisingly convincing rendition. There were shaky vocals here and there, but for the most part, it was solid, and it should keep her fighting in the competition for another week.

Adam Cunningham – “American Girl” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

With the instant save saving Adam last week, the artist had to switch things up this week to garner some more votes. Thankfully, he delivered a rendition that was one of his best to date.

He really went back to the drawing board because he knew it was time to fix his vocals.

Brooke Simpson – “What About Us” by Pink

This should have been another excellent performance for Brooke, but there were some issues, and it was difficult to hear any of the vocals. This will not bode well when it comes to voting.

Davon Fleming – “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston

Who would have thought Davon would go with a Whitney song and make the judges putty in his hands? It was a phenomenal rendition that immediately put him up the food chain.

Ashland Craft – “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band

Ashland went all out for her latest performance, and you could tell she had taken all the feedback on board. The whole package was great, and she should have no trouble staying in the competition.

Addison Agen – “A Case of You” by Joni Mitchell

Changing a song up is part of the game, and Addison did just that during the live show and it benefited her. With some high notes thrown in for good measure, it was one of her best performances yet.

Keisha Renee – “It Matters to Me” by Faith Hill

Keisha’s performance left a lot to be desired. Her vocals to date have been astounding, but this song was not the best one to show them off. Generally, she is one of the best of the night, but this was her worst night of the season.

Noah Mac – “Electric Love” by BØRNS

Woah! Noah turned in a stunning rendition that practically saw him parading across the stage! Everything about this was something you would expect from a recording artist, so that’s pretty good. If he winds up in danger tonight, then there will be trouble.

Chloe Kohanski – “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler

Chloe saved the best for last. Her performance defined the whole night and proved it was time for the others to step it up or go home.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Chloe just set the bar,” said Blake after hearing it.

Okay, so that’s a wrap on the Top 11 performances!

Who do you think will go home?

The Voice Results: And Then There Were Eleven ...

The Voice’s final dozen gave it their all Monday, and Tuesday, the live results meant the end of the road for one of the final 12 competitors.

The endgame is starting to become clearer after The Voice top 12 performances, but many questions remain and every vote matters.

Smart money was on Chloe Kohanski, Jon Mero, Brooke Simpson, Shi’Ann Jones, Davon Fleming, Keisha Renee, and Janice Freeman.

As the most impressive performances of the bunch, and the most consistently solid all season, it was hard to see any of them faltering.

That leaves Addison Agen, Red Marlow, Ashland Craft, Adam Cunningham and Noah Mac as the most vulnerable … in our view, going in.

What did the voters have to say about it?

A lot, it seems, and there was not much positivity for Team Adam Levine. Adam Cunningham and Jon Mero, both members of Levine’s team, were revealed to have the lowest number of votes.

“I got two people in the bottom,” Levine said, clearly irate with what he was witnessing. “Neither one of you guys deserves to be in the bottom. I am very confident in that.”

But, they each had one more opportunity to sway some votes their way, and that meant they got to perform one more song!

Cunningham went with his take on “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It was a great rendition, and it became clear that getting rid of Cunningham would level the playing field for some of the others.

Yes, he’s that good.

But, what about Jon Mero? His performance of “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5 struggled to match up to Adam’s, but that’s not to say his coach was ready to pick sides.

“I don’t think anybody in this room thinks you should be going anywhere,” Levine said about his act.

In the end, the instant fan save kept Cunningham in the process for another week, while Mero ended his run in twelfth place.

While losing out at the first live show must have been difficult, Mero was quick to reiterate that he was thankful for all of the support from Adam and everyone else.

“I want to thank you so much for believing in me from the beginning,” Mero said to Levine. “You taught me how to be fearless.”

Here’s the complete list of the final contestants remaining on The Voice:

Addison Agen

Adam Cunningham

Chloe Kohanski

Red Marlow

Keisha Renee

Davon Fleming

Shi’Ann Jones

Noah Mac

Ashland Craft

Janice Freeman

Brooke Simpson

The Voice Recap: The Top 12 Go LIVE!

On Monday’s episode of The Voice, the live shows kicked off with the top 12 artists chosen by the celebrity coaches laid it all on the line.

Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Jennifer Hudson and Miley Cyrus each chose the top three singers on their teams to represent them last week.

Did they make the right calls? We’re about to find out!

Brooke Simpson – “Praying”

Brooke’s rehearsal was not the best. If anything, it looked like she was setting herself up for failure. However, when she finally performed she was pretty great.

The big note was always going to be problematic, but she nailed it with ease and proved she should remain in the competition.

Red Marlow – “The Church on Cumberland Road”

Red has been one to watch since the season kicked off in September. His vocals have always been on point, and audiences seemed enamored with his blend of country vocals.

He should have no trouble in advancing to the next stage of the competition.

Shi’Ann Jones – “Vision of Love”

Shi’Ann made it through the playoffs by the skin of her teeth, and her performance of this classic song was a shaky number that showed there were much better people in the competition.

Will she slip through the cracks once again, or is her time up?

Jon Mero –  “Why I Love You”

Jon genuinely seemed like he was a diamond in the rough during the first live show. Jon’s mission for the night was to show off his vocal range, and he did so in winning fashion.

His rendition was emotional, and without flaws.

Ashland Craft – “Delta Dawn”

We are still trying to wrap our head around the fact that Ashland advanced to this stage of the competition. She seems like more of a novelty act, and that’s not a good thing.

Her voice may sound great on karaoke, but that does not mean it will work for all of her performances.

Adam Cunningham – “Against All Odds”

Adam went with a surprising song that was well-polished. He knew what he had to do to emerge from the pack. Despite a questionable opening, it quickly turned into a solid performance.

Chloe Kohanski “Thank You”

Chloe’s first live performance was great. You could easily believe that she indulged in some singing lessons during the time from the pre-taped shows and the live ones.

The Dido song is a great one, and Chloe put her own stamp on it.

Davon Fleming – “Love on Top”

Covering a Beyonce song can either be a big fat failure or a huge success and who better to take on one of her songs than Davon? While he struggled to hit the dizzying heights of Queen Bey, it was still a solid performance.

Addison Agen – “She Used to Be Mine”

Addison managed to keep her intonation in line throughout the whole performance, and she looked fantastic on the stage. She was like one of those seasoned popstars.

That’s a compliment, by the way.

Keisha Renee –  “Midnight Train to Georgia”

Keisha Renee’s performance lacked a whole lot of spark, and that was a bit disheartening when you consider the heights she scaled on her other performances.

She would be wise to dial her performance back next time and stick to what she does best.

Noah Mac – “Speed of Sound”

The Coldplay song should be banned from singing competitions because it’s guaranteed to hit you right in the feels. It was a mediocre performance when benchmarked against his other ones, so there’s that.

Will he make it through on popularity? Probably.

Janice Freeman – “The Story”

Janice had the best performance of the night, and it was clear she was going big or going home. The others would be wise to take a few notes from this vocal powerhouse.

The Voice continues tonight, and there will be some departures!

What did you think of the performances?

The Voice Recap: Who Did Miley Cyrus Take to the Live Shows?!

Miley Cyrus is the final coach to take whittle her team of six down to three in preparation for the live shows, and it it’s a complicated process for the singer and coach because her group of six were very strong.

But Miley also had to take into consideration the fact that voting was opening when the live shows kicked off and that she needed people who would strike a chord with the public.

As much as The Voice is a show about people with the best singing technique advancing to the next stage, it is also a popularity contest, and if your contestant is not popular, it makes things dicey.

Brooke Simpson – “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World”

Brooke wanted to choose her song for herself, and it became clear that she should get to do that for the whole season because her performance was extraordinary. From the quiet opening, right up to the epic conclusion, she owned that stage.

Thankfully, she advanced to the next stage, and we are pleased about it.

Karli Webster – “Coat of Many Colors”

Unlike most of the other artists who have appeared on the show via a comeback, Karli had an excellent song that paired up well with her voice. While her performance was excellent, it was difficult to set it apart from Brooke’s and that Miley decided it was best to cut her losses with the performer.

This stage is not the best because some of the better singers slip through the cracks, but that’s just the name of the game.

Adam Pearce – “Love Hurts”

Miley wanted Adam to succeed, and that’s why she gave him this song. She thought it was time to let audiences see the real him, but he still seemed like a bit of a nervous wreck.

His singing was great, but without that charisma to get audiences on side, it was not worth the risk to take him any further.

Ashland Craft – “When I Think About Cheatin’”

Ashland worried about going for the high notes, but Miley was not one to let that slide and pushed her act to perform to the best of her ability. She secured the high note, and that was enough for Miley to keep her in the process.

Moriah Formica – “World Without You”

Moriah wanted to make it to the live shows, so she cranked up the volume, but her voice sounded shaky throughout the whole performance, and it proved that she was not the right one to advance. Miley let her go.

Janice Freeman – “Fall for You”

Janice had her work cut out for her with that song choice, but it was a thrilling rendition that made everyone happy. Yes, she got through!

So, that means we have 12 people hitting up the stage next week for the first live show of the season.

Let’s recap who is advancing…

  • Team Adam: Addison Agen, Jon Mero, Adam Cunningham

  • Team Miley: Brooke Simpson, Janice Freeman, Ashland Craft

  • Team Jennifer: Davon Fleming, Shi’Ann Jones, Noah Mac

  • Team Blake: Keisha Renee, Red Marlow, Chloe Kohanski

What do you think of the decisions?

The Voice Recap: Who Made Top 12?!

The Voice is changing things up in its 13th cycle. Previous seasons have found the Top 24 whittled down to 12 in a series of live shows.

This season, however, the power comes from the judges as they decided which of their six acts will make the three they will be advancing to the live shows.

On Monday night’s two-hour spectacular, it was all about Team Jennifer and Team Blake. Let’s break down the performances and the results.

Team Jennifer

Davon Fleming, “I Am Changing”

Davon has already proven that he has one of the best voices in the competition, but his opening for this energetic number was rather subdued. It was almost like it was going to be a disaster.

But, it evolved along the way and became one of his best performances to date. We don’t know whether it was intentional. If it was, it was well played, and this man deserves to be on those live shows.

Hannah Mrozak – “Learn to Let Go”

This performance was a real surprise. Hannah has been hit or miss throughout the process, but it seemed like she got a handle on it during the rehearsals.

Unfortunately, the performance for the judges cratered, and she sounded like she wanted to be anywhere other than on the stage to impress her coaches. It was tedious and awkward.

Lucas Holliday – “The Beautiful Ones

Lucas had a lot riding on this performance. He was already circling the drain, and Jeniffer had the potential to give him a song that would connect with his voice.

Like Hannah, Lucas struggled to achieve the higher notes, and that will likely give him an early exit out of the competition.

Shi’Ann Jones – “Tattooed Heart”

Shi’Ann performed her routine in winning fashion. Seriously, this kid is up there as one of the fiercest and exciting competitors in the history of the series.

There was a part she struggled with, but she managed to pull it all back together before it was too late.

Chris Weaver – “California Soul”

Jennifer said that this song should get Chris another round of applause from the panel. Did she set him up for disaster? His rendition was middling, at best. His vocals did not fit with the song.

He tried to emulate the artist, and that’s why he struggled. There was nothing fresh or exciting about it, and that’s something that’s needed.

Noah Mac – “In the Air Tonight”

Noah went with an old Phil Collins number, and it was a surprisingly robust performance. He has the charisma and the charm to get far, and his vocals will continue to help.

Team Blake

Red Marlow – “Chiseled in Stone”

Red went with a song that he went really well with his voice. He successfully managed to keep the pitch and intonation in check and proved to everyone watching that he was one of the ones to watch in the competition.

Chloe Kohanski – “Time After Time”

There was something about this performance that fell flat on so many levels. Like, there was nothing that made me want to even imagine her in the Top 12. Some people act as though they want it and then there’s Chloe.

Natalie Stovall – “Callin’ Baton Rouge”

Natalie had a second chance, and it was her time to prove Blake made the right move. She did prove it with a performance that was fine-tuned and a cut above her other ones. Seriously, this girl needs a record deal.

Esera Tuaolo – “How Do I Live?”

At this stage of the game, you expect the performers to give their all. If this was his all, then we don’t even know what the coaches saw in him in the first place.

This seemed like a karaoke number. Nothing more.

Mitchell Lee – “Heaven”

Mitchell had a great song to work with, and while it would seem that he would be able to hone his skills and make it his own, he did not. This was his time to shine, and it fell flat.

Keisha Renee – “Love Can Build a Bridge”

Keisha has been the Queen of the high notes since she first appeared on the show, and boy, did she have some high notes left to give. Her performance was electrifying and proved that she was in the right place.

When it came to saying goodbye to some people, Jennifer decided it was right to keep Davon Fleming, Noah Mac, and Sh’Ann Jones. That meant that Hannah, Lucas, and Chris were let go.

Meanwhile, Blake kept Keisha, Red, and Chloe. Natalie, Esera, and Mitchell were let go.

What did you think of all the twists and turns?

Did the right people leave?

The Voice Recap: Who Made Top 24?!

With places in the competition diminishing, the remaining competitors continued to vie for a place in the Top 24.

Jennifer Hudson was the only judge with a steal left, and she knew she had to use it wisely if she wanted to find someone she could nurture into a hit.

Let’s break down the final night of the Knockouts…

Team Jennifer: Chris Weaver vs. Katrina Rose

Chris has been killing it every step of the way, so this was his round to win. He went with Nina Simone’s “I Put a Spell on You, ” and although he could have changed it up, it was still a breathtaking performance.

The vocals were on point and showed his range in a thrilling manner. With this one, we would be surprised if he was not sitting there in the final next month.

Poor Katrina had no chance going up against Chris. Her performance of The Cranberries’ “Zombie” was rather subdued. Her loud voice was no more, and it was clear she had been told that less is more.

The volume did rise throughout, but it was just no match for Chris, who won this round. Unfortunately, no steal was used on Katrina, so she was sent home.

Team Blake: Red Marlow vs. Megan Rose

Blake has been a great coach to the country singers in the past, and it appears that he’s continuing that trend this season. Red Marlow went with “Outskirts of Heaven” by Craig Campbell, and it was a stunning rendition.

Red’s signature country twang was very much present, and it sounded like a song Red could make his own given some more time to rehearse.

Megan went with Carrie Underwood’s “Smoke Break, ” and it was not a great performance. If anything, it was one of the messiest performances of the night. She lacked the spark, and charisma Red had, and it showed in her performance.

Red secured the win while Megan lost her place in the competition.

Team Adam: Anthony Alexander vs. Hannah Mrozak

Anthony went with “Mercy” by Shawn Mendes, and he successfully managed to make it his own. Everything about it was different enough from the original that Anthony should earn props for it.

The vocals were solid, and the performance was one of the most polished of the entire Knockout Rounds.

Hannah’s performance was similarly solid. She went with Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain.” It was very different to the one Anthony did right before, but it was still very good.

Anthony won the round, but Jennifer used up her last steal to take Hannah under her wing for the remainder of her time in the competition.

That means the Knockout Rounds are over, but there are some changes on the horizon. In the past, the show has aired a two-night extravaganza to get the top 24 singing for votes from America.

This season, those episodes were pre-recorded, and America had no input. It’s unclear how the judges will whittle them down, but we’ll find out next week.

What did you think of the results?

The Voice Recap: One Final Steal

There was one steal left up for grabs during the Knockout Rounds, but who was the lucky victor?

Let’s break down the latest performances…

Team Miley: Brooke Simpson vs. Stephan Marcellus

Brooke went with Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman” and it was a delight. She put her own fresh and exciting spin on the hit song, and proved that she is still improving with every stage of the competition.

Stephan went with “Impossible” by Shontelle and he struggled to emerge from Brooke’s shadow. Had he been up against one of the weaker competitors, he would have won.

Brooke emerged with the win and Stephan was sent home.

Team Blake: Anna Catherine DeHart vs. Mitchell Lee

Anna went with Faith Hill’s “Breathe” and it was a surprisingly dull number. Anna’s performances have been up there as some of the best, but her song choice was way off during the Knockout Rounds.

Mitchell came out much better with his rendition of Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be.” Everything about it was flawless, and it would have been a travesty if he did not get through.

His pitch and vocals were on point. He secured a win, while Anna was sent home.

Team Jennifer: Jeremiah Miller vs. Noah Mac

Jeremiah went with Justin Bieber’s “Sorry.” It was all over the place, to say the least. It was the worst song choice and proved that Justin Bieber songs should probably be banned from the competition.

It was hands down Jeremiah’s worst performance of the season and part of that was down to it sounding nasally. What went wrong?!

Noah went with “Hold Back the River” by James Bay. It was a surprisingly solid number. Noah put a great spin on the song and when benchmarked with Jeremiah, it was clear who was winning.

Jeremiah was sent home!

Team Blake: Kathrina Feigh vs. Keisha Renee

This knockout was a tough one. Kathrina went with Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” and it was a beautiful performance that showed off Kathrina’s vocal range.

She sounded like a recording artist you would hear on the radio today.

Keisha went with Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.” That was another solid performance, and it was really difficult to tell both of the performances apart. They were that good!

In the end, Keisha was saved, and Kathrina was sent home.

Team Miley: Moriah Formica vs. Whitney Fenimore

Moriah went with “Behind These Hazel Eyes” which she got to sing in front of Kelly Clarkson herself. Surely, there should be some sort of stipulation against that!

The performance is interesting because it seems like it’s trying to be two very different tones, and it certainly makes us wonder what she’s trying to do.

Whitney went with Train’s “Calling All Angels.” It was decent, but not quite up there with Moriah’s. Whitney’s vocal range is not quite up there with Moriah’s.

Moriah won the round and Whitney was sent home.

Team Adam: Adam Pearce vs. Emily Luther

Adam went with Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.” If anything, it showed just how many high notes Adam can hit in one song. But, hitting high notes is different from being an engaging performer.

Emily went with Pink’s “Glitter in the Air.” It sounded similar to the original song, and that’s a good thing. Emily secured a win from Adam, but Miley offered to steal Adam because she was taken by his voice.

What did you think of all the performances?

The Voice Recap: One Last Battle

The Battles concluded on Tuesday night’s episode of The Voice, and that meant there was a lot of heartache for the people who were sent home.

With one last steal up for grabs, which contestant manage to switch teams after losing out on a spot in the team they wanted to be part of?

Let’s break down the final three battle performances of the season.

Team Blake: Adam Cunningham vs. Natalie Stovall  –  “Boondocks”

Adam and Natalie were two very seasoned performers when they auditioned, so this performance was always going to be a tough one to get through.

The reason being that they both deserve to be in the competition. Simply put, their voices are great, and they should not have to go against each other in this manner.

The performance was solid, and Blake noted that he was the only one with a steal left. But, he could not steal one of his own because that would be against the logistics of the steal.

Winner: Adam

Team Jennifer: Eric Lyn vs. Ignatious Carmouche – “Unaware”

Eric and Ignatious struggled when put together, and their voices sounded messy during the battle. For that reason, neither of them deserved to advance to the next stage.

In the end, Eric was saved, but it was a tough call, and we would not have liked to have been in Jennifer’s shoes.

Winner: Eric

Team Miley: Ashland Craft vs. Megan Rose – “A Good Hearted Woman”

Ashland was ready to wow Miley enough to keep her in the competition for longer, and she did so with an elegant routine that solidified her status as one of the best vocalists on the show.

While Megan is great in her own right, her performance was not up there with Ashland’s.But, with one steal still up for grabs, both of the women secured a small victory.

Winner: Ashland

Steal: Megan to Blake

With the Battle Rounds completed, it’s time for the Knockout Rounds, and that means the contestants will be whittled down like never before.

Who will make it to the live shows? You’ll have to tune in to find out!

The Voice Recap: A Battle to Remember

The Battle Rounds were still in play on the latest episode of The Voice, but who emerged from the pack to show they had what it took?

Let’s break down the wins, the losses, and the steals from Monday’s episode of The Voice!

Team Adam: Jon Mero vs. Brandon Brown – “I Wish It Would Rain”

Brandon has been a solid singer since he debuted on the show, but his voice could not compete with Jon Mero’s. Jon came out hitting all the high notes and at it sealed Brandon’s fate.

Had Brandon been up against any of the other people in the process, he would have won.

Winner: Jon Mero

Team Blake: Red Marlow vs. Ryan Scripps – “Fishin’ in the Dark”

Rascal Flatts noted that Ryan needed to become more open as opposed to being nervous about his performance. Unfortunately, it was too late for him to implement that in his performance.

It was flat, and Red continued to be a solid performer and secured a victory.

Winner: Red Marlow

Team Miley: Karli Webster vs. Addison Agen – “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”

This was a difficult one because both performers were solid in their own right. The song choice was just so off. The song has been used to death on singing competitions, so that was a bit annoying.

Winner: Karli Webster

Steal: Addison Agen by Adam

Team Jennifer: Shi’Ann Jones vs. Stephan Marcellus – “Oh! Darling”

Stephan tried to turn things around after his botched blind audition, and he did so. Unfortunately, Shi’Ann came out top trumps because her voice was a little bit better.

Winner: Shi’Ann Jones

Steal: Stephan Marcellus by Miley

Team Adam: Anthony Alexander vs. Michael Kight – “I Feel It Coming”

It seemed like Anthony was going to be the one to leave without winning this battle. In the rehearsal, he seemed to struggle considerably.

When it came to the battle, he managed to right the ship and secure a win. Michael was still solid, but not solid enough.

Winner: Anthony Alexander

Team Miley: Janice Freeman vs. Katrina Rose – “W.O.M.A.N.”

This performance was excellent. Both of them owned their performance, and Miley had a difficult decision to make. She reluctantly said goodbye to Katrina, but Jennifer saved her from being let go.

That’s a wrap on the third round of the Battle Rounds! Who will make it to the next stage?

The Voice Recap: Who Battled to Victory?

The Battle Rounds on The Voice have always served as a way to amp up the drama on the NBC juggernaut. We love drama, but not at the expense of dreams being dashed.

Most of the singers who make it through the Blind Auditions section of the show are already seasoned singers, so it makes little sense to have them battle it out.

It was night two of the grueling process, and there was not much in the way of shocks. Everyone who should have gotten through did, and that’s about all we could ask for.

Let’s break down the three battles that took place on the show.

Davon Fleming vs. Maharasyi – “I’m Your Baby Tonight”

Maharasyi sprung a leak on the first day of rehearsals and struggled to keep up with Davon who was killing it. Jennifer noted that Davon went with it and proved he had what it took to advance to the next stage.

It was pretty much the same thing during the performance. Davon was a clear frontrunner, but his voice was not as good as it was the first time we heard it. But that was still enough to win over Maharsayi who was sent packing.

Hannah Mrozak vs. Brandon Showell – “Cold Water”

There was something off about Hannah during her rehearsal. She did not seem as into the competition as she should have been. This was the performance that was going to make or break her.

Brandon was decent in the performance, but it was clear he still had a lot of work to do if he wanted to advance to the next stage. Hannah’s performance improved as it went on, while Brandon’s stayed the same and it was not great.

Hannah was saved, while Brandon was sent home.

Mitchell Lee vs. Dennis Drummond – “Mr. Jones”

This battle was always going to be a tough one. They both have very different voices, and that made their performance so delightful to watch. They don’t go together, so they should never duet.

Mitchell was saved by Blake, while Dennis was poached by Adam.

That’s a wrap on Night Two! What did you think about the latest episode?

The Voice Recap: Steals Galore!

With the Blind Auditions out of the way, the hopefuls went to war with each other to secure their spot at the next stage of the competition, and it paved the way for some emotional scenes.

Rascal Flatts advised Blake Shelton, Kelly Rowland joined Jennifer Hudson, Joe Jonas partnered with Adam Levine and Bill Ray Cyrus joined forces with Miley Cyrus.

Lucas Holliday vs. Megan McNeal – “My Prerogative”

Jennifer stressed that it was vital for them to focus on their own performance as opposed to worrying that the other was getting all the attention.

Despite positive comments for both contestants, Jennifer sent Megan home and kept Lucas around until the next stage of the competition. When the pair were put together, Lucas was the clear winner.

Moriah Formica vs. Shilo Gold – American Woman

Miley implied that this was a terrible choice for her, but when you think about it, Moriah completely owned the stage during the battle. Shilo was decent, but no match for Moriah.

Moriah went on to win the vote of Miley, sending Shilo packing.

Keisha Renee vs. Noah Mac – “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry”

This one was more of a tough choice. Both singers put so much effort into ensuring they would secure a victory, and they even took a lot of feedback from the coaches into consideration.

That’s the best thing you ask for of a participant during one of these shows. Unfortunately for Noah, Blake thought Keisha pulled it off better.

Chris Weaver defeated Kathrina Feigh  – “Dangerous Woman.”

In rehearsals, Chris got an early lead on Kathrina, and you could tell Kelly thought so. It was almost like everyone had agreed Chris was advancing and Kelly’s fate was up in the air.

When it came to the actual performance, Kathrina sounded like she was whimpering throughout, while Chris turned in a solid performance. Jennifer kept Chris around, but it was not the end of the road for Kathrina.

Blake swooped in to give her a shot on his team. We’re not quite sure it was a wise idea, but time will tell whether it will come back to bite him.

Brooke Simpson vs. Sophia Bollman – “You’re a Big Girl Now”

Both Brooke and Sophia brought a lot to the table, so you can only imagine our surprise that one of them got through and the other was sent home.

The performance was rock-solid, and the two squared off against each another with class. Miley kept Brooke around, but nobody thought it was a good idea to steal Sophia.

What a shame.

Adam Pearce vs. Whitney Fenimore- “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”

What do you get when you put two of the most promising singers together? One of the biggest disappointments of the season. Both of them appeared as early frontrunners, but putting them together was just wrong.

There was nothing about their voices together that really worked. Adam scraped a win by the skin of his teeth, and Whitney was stolen by Miley.

We are so glad she’s getting a second chance.

With the Battle Rounds in full swing, it should be fun to find out who goes next.

The Voice continues Tuesday night on NBC!
