Kesha doesn’t even know what to say at the moment.
But she knows she has to say something.
The singer is embroiled in a legal battle against music producer Dr. Luke, who Kesha has accused of plying her with drugs and alcohol over the years and who she has also accused of sexually abusing her.
A judge decreed in court last week, however, that the artist did not provide sufficient evidence to break her contract with the producer, prompting Kesha to break down in tears.
In response, a number of celebrities – from Taylor Swift to Demi Lovato to Lady Gaga to Jack Antonoff – have expressed their support of Kesha on social media.
Swift has even donated $ 250,000 to her fellow star.
Now, for the first time since her legal request was denied, Kesha has spoken out and thanked everyone for standing by her during such a trying period in her life.
“I am beyond words in gratitude,” she wrote as a caption to the above image, adding:
“thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much.
“a statement too large for this format is coming….”
Following Friday’s victory in court for Dr. Luke, who insists he did not rape Kesha, the producer’s attorneys released the following statement:
As Dr. Luke has said repeatedly, the allegations against him are outright lies that have been advanced to extort a contract renegotiation and money.
Kesha and her counsel have cavalierly subjected Dr. Luke and his family to trial by Twitter, using a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation for financial gain while failing to support their claims.
Kesha to date has never verified the allegations in this case – even when given the opportunity in her affidavit. Nor has she ever offered a credible explanation as to why she would have signed a second recording agreement, recorded two albums and an EP and signed a publishing deal with Dr. Luke after allegedly being sexually abused.
It will further be shown that the incidents alleged never happened.
