Earlier this week, Justin Bieber got a face tattoo and, if you listen closely enough, you can probably still hear the tears of fans around the world, bawling in response.
Why would the artist mess with such a pretty mug?!?
During a concert stop at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Arena on Sunday, May 7, however, Bieber was the one in tears.
In the following clip, Bieber is sitting on stage, just inches away from adoring fans.
His eyes are closed and he"s clearly in some kind of major emotional state while singing the track "Purpose," which chronicles his newfound connection to God.
You can hear attendees telling Bieber that it"s going to be okay and that they are there for him.
By the conclusion of the ballad, the 22-year-old superstar – who is rocking a bandana tied around his head – totally loses it, tears streaming down his face.
It"s unclear what prompted this outburst, but Justin wrote an ode to The Big Guy on Instagram just one day before taking the stage in Philadelphia.
"I am so glad God is able to move even when people are blind to it," Bieber wrote. "I am the one on that stage but I am nothing without a light shining through.
"I’m such an average, ordinary person that doesn’t deserve the praise. I believe it belongs to my God! Thank you God for showing up when we need you the most!"
The aforementioned face tattoo, meanwhile, is of a small cross.
Bieber has always been very open about his faith and his religion.
But no one can say for certain why he"s in such a sentimental and emotional state these days.
As always, we wonder if it has anything to do with Selena Gomez, who made headlines herself over the weekend for something she did on stage.
No, she did not cry.
But she did crumple up a fan"s sign, clearly not into the fact that it reads "Marry Justin Please."
Might Bieber be crying here over Gomez"s quasi rejection of his non-proposal? Might he just be faking it for attention and praise?
