Well, it’s been four days since Jinger Duggar married Jeremy Vuolo, so naturally, fans of the family are already wondering who will be next to sprint down the aisle.
John David has spoken about his desire to settle down, and Josiah Duggar briefly courted Marjorie Jackson, but the relationship didn’t result in marriage and an army of offspring, which are the goals for any Duggar courtship.
Of course, if the fans had their pick, the perennial favorite and “Cinderella Duggar” would be next to get hitched.
Normally, an unmarried 26 year old would not be a cause for concern, but the Duggars are adherents of the “quiverfull” movement, which teaches that the obligation of every woman to have as many babies as she possibly can.
The women in the family are typically married off in their early 20s to immediately begin breeding.
The fact that Jana is entering her late 20s without a courtship in sight is no doubt a source of stress for her procreation-happy parents, Jim Bob and Michelle.
That may be why some folks believe JB and Michelle are giving Jana a public nudge toward the altar with their latest Facebook post:
The pic above is a wall hanging created by Jana with some objects she found around the house.
“Our Jana is so talented!” her gushed in the caption.
“An old fence board, some painted sticks and just a little jute string!”
Duggar social media posts usually focus on the grandkids or the entire family (It can be hard to give individual attention when you’ve got 19 freakin’ kids.), so many took this post as a way of doing a bit of “advertising” for Jana.
However, that doesn’t jibe with what seems to be the reality of the situation:
As far as anyone can tell, the problem isn’t that Jana is suffering from a lack of options.
“There have been different guys come along and ask, but they haven’t been the right one,” Jana told a TLC camera crew on her family’s reality show, 19 Kids and Counting.
“It’s just one of those things. I’m not just out to get married to the first one who comes along.”
