Dr. Brandon Rogers: America"s Got Talent Contestant Dies Before Episode Airs

Sad news out of Hollywood today, as TMZ is reporting that an extraordinarily gifted young man with bright futures in both medicine and entertainment has passed away.

Dr. Brandon Rogers filmed a heavily buzzed-about episode of America’s Got Talent several months ago, and his singing talents were such that he gained the attention of Boyz II Men and thousands of online fans before the performance even aired.

Tragically, Rogers was involved in a fatal car accident on Saturday.

He was rushed to a hospital, where he passed away on Sunday morning.

He was just 29 years old.

Rogers graduated medical school in 2015, and though while family and friends passionately dedicated to his work within the medical community, he continued to make time for his first love: music.

Videos of Rogers’ singing caught the attention of America’s Got Talent producers, who flew the Maryland resident to Los Angeles for an audition that reportedly blew judges away.

Based on the clips Rogers uploaded to Instagram, it’s not hard to see how they were so impressed.

The word of mouth surrounding Brandon’s talent was such that iconic ’90s R&B group Boyz II Men brought him on stage to sing at one of their shows.

Today, the group released a statement honoring Rogers’ tragically short life and tremendous talent.

“Today our hearts are deeply saddened to learn about the sudden death of Dr. Brandon Rogers. A few moths back we brought this young man out to the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas to perform with us. He was great all 3 nights!” they wrote/

Just a genuinely nice person and a really good singer! Gone too young and gone too soon.”

The video of Brandon’s performance with the group has gone viral in the wake of news of his death:

America’s Got Talent producers say they have not reached a decision with regard to when Rogers’ episode will air.

Brandon’s segment was originally scheduled to air in July.

The Rogers family tells TMZ they look forward to the whole country seeing the performance of Brandon’s lifetime.

Our thoughts go out to his loved ones during this difficult time.
