Coupon Carl: CVS Manager Calls 9-1-1 on Black Woman Using a Coupon
From a woman who attacked a black teen at a pool to a neighbor calling the police on an 8-year-old selling water, a lot of white people seem to be calling the police on black people for non-crimes.
In a video that made waves on social media over the weekend, a CVS manager dubbed "Coupon Carl" trembles while calling the police.
The reason he dialed 9-1-1? Well, a black woman brought in a coupon and he questioned its authenticity. That"s it.
Camilla Hudson recorded and shared a video of part of a disturbing encounter she had in a CVS.
In the video, while some sort of extremely irritating alarm goes off, a man named Morry Matson appears to tremble while speaking to emergency services over the phone.
As Morry asks for police, Hudson calmly assures Matson that she will be there when the police arrive.
He gives the person a description, as if she might bolt at any moment.
She spells her name and mentions that she has ID and will happily share it with them.
Hudson took to Facebook to share the whole story, though the social media platform removed the post.
"I had the police called on me because I tried to use a coupon at the CVS pharmacy," Hudson warned her Facebook friends.
"I stopped in," she explained. "To make a purchase using a coupon mailed to me by the product manufacturer, as a replacement for problematic/defective product."
She then explains that the manager suspected it of being fraudulent.
When she asked for his name, she reports, he "became agitated and rude."
He apparently stormed off, slammed a door, and called the police.
Hudson reports that 9-1-1 hung up on him the first time that he called, so he called again and claimed that she was harassing him.
On it ssurface, Morry Matson appears to be, at best, a man who abandoned any pretense of customer service and perhaps
At worst, he seems to be a racist who assumed that a black woman was a criminal because he had never seen her coupon before.
But there"s another layer to this story.
The man who suspected this woman of forgery to the point where he called the police on a customer was actually busted for forgery under two years ago.
What"s more, the incident in which he dabbled with forgery also had a racial component.
Morry was spearheading an effort to build a pricey waterfront bike path to a beach — a path that just happened to be near his home.
He was pushing for a ballot measure to build this on the taxpayer"s dime.
His proposal mentioned that improving the beachfront area would not result in "people from the South Side," which is one of the laziest apparent euphemisms for people of color that we"ve ever read.
The reason that he didn"t get to have his proposal on the ballot was because it was discovered that he had filled multiple pages of his petition with names that he had written himself.
This is according to forensic experts, which is what got the ballot measure removed in 2016. But apparently people looking at the petition could determine that it was fraudulent with the naked eye.
He had also been gathering names for well beyond the 90 day limit imposed.
"You’re calling me a liar, you’re calling me a thief, you’re calling me a forger,” Hudson says..
“It’s not that they didn’t take the coupon or refused to take the coupon, it’s how he did it," she explains.
"He was nasty, he was unprofessional, he was dismissive, he was accusatory," Hudson says. "His entire tone and demeanor was offensive and problematic."
Speaking of problematic, Morry says that he was a state delegate for Donald Trump in 2016. He is now running for Chicago"s 48th Ward Alderman.
CVS released a statement that they are investigating this troubling incident.

The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 9 Recap: Farewell, Carl Grimes!
Carl Grimes is out!
On The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 9, we finally said goodbye to another member of the Grimes family, and boy, it was emotional.
We picked up with Carl assessing the fatal wound he had thanks to the walkers invading Alexandria. Carl was told about Michonne making her way to the Sanctuary, and she left him a note.
The note gave Carl the guts to realize his time in the world was coming to a close, and he decided to write letters to his nearest and dearest.
This kid has had a profound effect on all of the characters, so it made sense that his death would be such a big deal. Carl wasted no time in taking one last picture with Judith.
He subsequently left both of their handprints in front of the house. Yeah, this episode was a real tearjerker, but it’s difficult to say goodbye to a long-serving cast member.
Elsewhere, Morgan found himself in a difficult situation because the walkers were essentially gone, and he had to decide what was the best course of action.
Carol was on hand to help hide some of the Kingdommers, and she returned to help Ezekiel make his way out of a deadly situation.
The next big gut punch came when Carl revealed all about his bite to Rick and Michonne. Siddiq proved he was a good egg by offering to help care for Carl as his time ran out.
That’s when Siddiq revealed that he was a medical resident. At that moment, he became useful to the rest of the team. They needed someone to help with medical instances.
Carl continued to see Alexandria in the future, but Michonne wanted to get the kid to Hilltop to say his goodbyes and make sure he had the best care out there.
Back above ground, Carol and Dwight continued to try and save Ezekiel from a certain death. They went to extreme measures and dispatched of Gavin’s friends.
But Gavin made a getaway, and Morgan was mad. Morgan had to run for dear life to try and find the villain before it was too late.
Back underground, Carl said goodbye to Michonne and admitted that she was his best friend. Carl said to Rick that the world could go back to normal and they could strive for change.
Carl then told both of them to let him kill himself when the time was right. Carl killed himself, and Rick and Michonne got ready to bury the kid.
That’s when we were treated to another flashforward, but this one showed Negan and Judith in the same scene. It looks like the villain is not going to be dying anytime soon.
Sigh.

Evelyn Lozada & Carl Crawford: It"s Over!
It’s the end of the line for Evelyn Lozada and Carl Crawford.
According to a report in US Weekly, the Basketball Wives star and her baseball fiance have decided to go their separate ways and their engagement has been called off.
“They did break up but it was over infidelity back in February,” a rep for the Basketball Wives star, 41, confirmed to Us in a statement on Thursday, August 10.
“Right now they are focused on being responsible and loving parents to their 3-year-old kid.” The pair “do remain friends,” but Lozada is living apart from Crawford.
The pair got engaged back in December 2013 after Crawford asked Lozada to be his wife with a $ 1.5 million ring.
All seemed to be going well for them, and they welcomed their first child together, Leo, in 2014.
While infidelity is cited as the reason for the breakup, the report does not confirm whether it was Lozada or Crawford who was unfaithful.
Chances are, we will get more clarity on VH1’s Basketball Wives, which is where you can currently watch Evelyn on a weekly basis.
The breakup rumors went into overdrive when the pair failed to address each other on social media and seemed to be doing their own thing.
Maybe VH1 wanted them to keep quiet about the breakup to create some drama and shock viewers whenever it is revealed on the reality series.
Sometimes, however, living a lie is not the best thing to do, and it appears that Evelyn was tired of the multitude of questions surrounding her personal life.
With the news finally being revealed, fans took to social media to support Evelyn, with one saying, “Whether or not the tea that’s out there is true prayers with @Evelyn Lozada.”
Evelyn responded to the kind words with love hearts and the praying emoji. In any case, it sounds like Evelyn is ready to draw a line under this chapter of her life.
The relationship was likely on thin ice after the revelation that the couple tried to conceive another child and it resulted in several miscarriages.
“I had three miscarriages in the last year and a half. So, fast forward, you don’t really realize how quickly your body changes,” Evelyn confirmed during a guest stint on The Real last year.

It’s a name with which you likely weren’t familiar just a few days ago, but it’s quickly become a name that may have a significant impact on the world of pop culture.
That’s because Carl Lentz is a pastor who has grown very close to Justin Bieber… and who may even be the reason Bieber quits the music business.
As previously documented, Bieber ended his world tour early this week, with insiders claiming the singer is simply exhausted.
But a deeper dive into the situation has alleged that Bieber actually made this decision because he’s grown very close to Lentz and is undergoing some kind of “spiritual awakening.”
Without being told directly by Lentz to cancel the remaining dates on his tour, Justin simply thinks this is the right thing to do at the moment.
It’s unclear exactly why.
However, it seems rather evident at this point that Lentz has a lot of influence on Bieber and also on other stars in Hollywood.

WHO IS CARL LENTZ?
– He is pastor of Hillsong NYC, the local branch of the global megachurch that offers a Sunday service at Montclair’s Wellmont Theater in New Jersey.
– The church attracts about 100,000 people per week across the globe and is known for infusing its services with Christian Rock songs.
– Lentz is married to a woman named Laura and has three children.
– He’s been described as the “rock star pastor,” “hipster pastor” and “punk pastor” for his affinity for leather, skinny jeans and tattoos.
– Lentz is a Virginia Beach native who grew up in the Baptist church.
– According to a 2009 newspaper article, he who was playing basketball for N.C. State University when, at the encouragement of his parents, he attended a church service with a contemporary music ministry.
It changed his life forever.
– The Virginian-Pilot went on to write that Lentz attended Virginia Wesleyan University and at a Bible college in Los Angeles and then studied at the Hillsong International Leadership College in Australia.
– This is where he met and married Laura in 2003.
– In 2010, couple moved to New York City, setting down roots in Williamsburg .
– A big basketball fan, Lentz was quickly introduced him to Allan Houston, according to a Bleacher Report profile; he also includes Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, and Jeremy Lin as his friends.
– A TMZ report claims that Lentz also influenced Kyrie Irving’s recent demand to be traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers.
– Lentz met a then-14-year-old Justin Bieber in 2008 through another pastor close to artist.
“I remember being involved in this pre-service prayer [backstage] and just looking at him and going, ‘This is going to be a challenge.’ And that day being like, ‘I’m going to pray for this boy to make it,"” Lentz told the New York Post in 2014.
This quote was given back when Bieber was spotted at a brothel in Brazil and seen smoking a lot of marijuana and was receiving negative press up the wazoo.
So that brings us up to speed on Carl Lentz.
Like Scientology, his church seems cater to celebrities, a charge Lentz has not denied.
“Celebrities deserve a relationship with God. Celebrities deserve a place to pray,” Lentz told Esquire in the past.
A source close to the situation told TMZ this week that Bieber is like the “Tom Cruise” of Hillsong.

The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7 Recap: Carl Vs. Negan
Carl Grimes is one of the most fearless characters on all of television.
That was backed up on The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7 when we finally got up to speed with what happened for Carl when he decided to hide on the truck to go back to savior land.
It was a silly move. There’s no denying that, but it showed just how desperate Carl was to save his people and avenge the death of his close friends.
We picked up with Carl and Jesus in the truck, debating what the best move was.
Jesus left a trail behind them, before making the decision to jump out before they got there.
Carl agreed, but he tricked Jesus in order to continue on the mission solo.
However, Carl went out the truck guns blazing and was quickly apprehended by Negan.
Negan kept his calm demeanor and showed Carl around the campsite.
At one point, he even took Carl’s bandage off and mocked the wound on his face.
Negan then forced him to sing, while Negan swung the bat next to his face.
Carl struggled to go through the routine with the emotional damage Negan was doing to him.
If that was not bad enough, Negan called a meeting with everyone and melted the face of one of his followers with an iron.
Everyone was shocked, but they could not say anything bad about it.
Negan then took Carl back to Alexandria and made some lewd comments to Olivia, who responded by slapping him.
When it was all said and done, Negan was looking after Judith, while contemplating whether to move his group to Alexandria.
Elsewhere, with the Alexandria group worrying about Negan’s next visit, they split up to scavenge for goods.
Spencer went on a supply run with Gabriel, and made his intentions clear about his hatred for Rick and everything he has done to the Alexandria group.
Gabriel was not impressed with this and Spencer went a separate way to find things.
When he returned to meet with Rosita and Eugene, he had food and medical supplies.
Rosita was very much against him giving it all over to the villains, but Spencer seemed to be being sarcastic to her.
If you watch The Walking Dead online, you probably already know things are going to get worse for the group.
