Charles Krauthammer, Conservative Pundit, Confirms Death is Near
Charles Krauthammer, the long-time conservative columnist and television pundit, informed readers on Friday morning that he is confronting an aggressive form of cancer.
He says he will be dead within the next few weeks.
“My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live,” Krauthammer wrote very simply in The Washington Post earlier today.
Krauthammer passed along this devastating piece of news in a short, matter-of-fact note on the website of the aforementioned newspaper, for which he’s worked as a columnist since 1984.
“I leave this life with no regrets,” Krauthammer added in the farewell message, which has been making the Internet rounds all day.
He continued:
“It was a wonderful life — full and complete with the great loves and great endeavors that make it worth living.
“I am sad to leave, but I leave with the knowledge that I lived the life that I intended.”
That’s a pretty amazing and admirable attitude for anyone to have, considering what Krauthammer is facing right now.
Krauthammer has also worked as commentator for Fox News over the past few years.
However, he was forced to step away from both the newspaper and the cable network last August for surgery to remove what he called at the time “a cancerous tumor in my abdomen.”
It appeared at one point as if the cancer was in remission, but Krauthammer confirmed on Friday that this positive news was only temporary.
“Recent tests have revealed that the cancer has returned,” he wrote. “There was no sign of it as recently as a month ago, which means it is aggressive and spreading rapidly.”
In his note to readers, Krauthammer thanked co-workers, readers, and viewers “who have made my career possible and given consequence to my life’s work.”
He added:
“I believe that the pursuit of truth and right ideas through honest debate and rigorous argument is a noble undertaking.
“I am grateful to have played a small role in the conversations that have helped guide this extraordinary nation’s destiny.”
A handful of folks in the world of TV and politics have also chimed in after learning of this tragic news.
For example, Rupert Murdoch, the executive chairman of Fox News, said in a statement Friday afternoon:
Charles has been a profound source of personal and intellectual inspiration for all of us at Fox News.
His always principled stand on the most important issues of our time has been a guiding star in an often turbulent world, a world that has too many superficial thinkers vulnerable to the ebb and flow of fashion, and a world that, unfortunately, has only one Charles Krauthammer.
His words, his ideas, his dignity and his integrity will resonate within our society and within me for many, many years to come.
And Vice President Mike Pence Tweeted the following:
Karen and I were saddened to learn that Charles @krauthammer, a man we greatly admire, is nearing the end of his extraordinary life.
His wit, his wisdom, and his tireless defense of Western values have made an indelible mark on the minds of millions of Americans.

Counting On star Jessa Duggar is seen below wearing a variety of clothes that one might not necessarily consider extremely conservative.
Why is this a topic that we"re even discussing, you ask?
Because with Jessa teaching seminars on dressing modestly, her family"s controversial views of gender roles are back in the spotlight.
Moreover, some fans have criticized her, noting that for all the talk of the Duggars" ultra-modest dress code, she doesn"t always abide by it.
Granted, most of the examples of this phenomenon occur while she"s pregnant, and by definition, her body is growing and harder to contain.
That"s a given. But still, other members of her family have been with child sans the same penchant for tight-fitting clothes. Makes you think.

Jana Duggar Lesbian Rumors Surface, Roil Conservative Family
Jana Duggar is no stranger to speculation regarding her personal life, but Counting On fans may be taking it a bit too far with this latest rumor.
Or a lot too far, to be honest.
As the first girl of Jim Bob and Michelle’s 19 Kids & Counting, and a talented, sweet and beautiful one like that, her dating life is a hot topic.
Dating life, or lack thereof.
Michelle and Jim Bob have often leaned on her the most when it comes to helping with her (many( brothers and sisters as they arrive.
You don’t have to watch Counting On online to know that the 19 children span nearly three decades and require insane levels of effort.
But despite that chaos, and some might say burden, Jana has always remained level-headed and happy, by and large – at least publicly.
Lately, with Jinger Duggar getting married and Joy-Anna Duggar courting Austin Forsyth, Jana rumors have been running wild, however …
Jana’s quest for love is the subject of all the chatter following Joy’s announcement and the release of the Counting On Season 3 trailer.
Not even two months shy of 27, she has yet to enter a courtship, while Jill, Jessa and Jinger are all married and Joy, 19, is now courting.
There have been rumors Jim Bob and Michelle hkeep Jana prisoner, essentially, to raise her siblings and since JBD calls the shots?
We’d semi-believe that, sadly.
Now there’s even more outlandish speculation, however – that perhaps the reason she’s never courted is that she may be a lesbian.
Again, these are only rumors with no real evidence to support such an idea, but you can see why such talk would upset Jana’s family.
Rumors that she may be a lesbian are troubling, and not just because that would go against what her very conservative family believes.
Implying Jana is a lesbian is somehow a bad thing, or the only explanation for a 26-year-old girl being single, are both ridiculous notions.
There has even been talk that Jana was interested in a few men in her life, but decided that at the end of the day, they weren’t worthy.
So she has high standards and that’s why she’s single?
Also, Jana may not be willing to date right now because she’s busy focusing on her business, having just purchased a building in town.
It’s not clear what she intends to do with said building, but whatever it is, perhaps just leading her own life is taking priority over courting.

One can assume that when the time is right, our girl will find someone to spend the rest of her life with, and that we shouldn’t worry.
Nor should we speculate about her sexual orientation, or anyone’s, whatever it may be, just because they aren’t currently in a relationship.
To do that certainly isn’t fair – either to Jana, or anyone who might have different priorities in life that don’t involve rushing to the altar.
