Elizabeth Banks Mocks Donald Trump: He Stole My Hunger Games Entrance!

Last night, history was made.  But that didn"t stop the crown inside the 2016 Democratic National Convention from having a little fun.

While Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato Jr. buried themselves at the RNC, the very opposite happened to the celebs who were invited to speak last night.

Elizabeth Banks made her mark last night when she took the stage, mimicking Trump"s over-the-top entrance with hand gestures and a slow, deliberate walk as Queen"s "We Are The Champions" played.

It was awesome.

“Some of you know me from ‘The Hunger Games,’ in which I play Effie Trinket ― a cruel, out-of-touch reality TV star who wears insane wigs while delivering long-winded speeches to a violent dystopia,” Banks told the crowd.

“So when I tuned in to Cleveland last week, I was like, ‘Uh, hey ― that’s my act!’”

It was nothing short of brilliant.  Banks had nearly every one of Trump"s obnoxious moves down, to the point where it even made the GOP nominee speechless.

Well, speechless in the sense that he didn"t directly address it in one of his many tweets about last night.  He did, however, manager to insult the convention overall, like any grown-up running for president would do.

"I hate to say it, but the Republican Convention was far more interesting (with a much more beautiful set) than the Democratic Convention!" Trump tweeted.

"The Democratic Convention has paid ZERO respect to the great police and law enforcement professionals of our country. No recognition – SAD!" he also posted, as Banks shared a selfie with two Philadelphia police officers on the social media platform.

Lena Dunham, America Ferrara, Meryl Streep were only a few big names to publicly throw their support behind Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee and the first woman to ever be nominated for president.

Kate Middleton Would Never Survive The Hunger Games

In the words of Kristen Taekman, at least she"s pretty.

JK, the Duchess of Cambridge seems to be wonderful at everything – tennis, skiing, yoga, dating princes, diplomatic relations, motherhood…the list goes on.

Her Royal Highness is not, it appears, wonderful at archery.  Or darts, for that matter.

Catherine and Prince William landed in Bhutan today for a two-day visit, where they met their equally popular hosts, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his wife, Queen Jetsun Pema.  The royal couple, who have been dubbed "Bhutan"s Will and Kate," welcomed their first child, a boy in February.

The Duke and Duchess (in a Paul & Joe cape paired with a skirt made with Bhutanese fabric)  took part in an archery demonstration, put on to highlight the country"s national sport (it"s like baseball, but a bit more dangerous).

Let"s see how Bill and Cath did below, shall we?

The Hunger Games Mockingjay - Part 2 Reviews: Are the Odds in its Favor?

The Girl on Fire is about to fizzle out.

But not before she gets revenge for herself, her District and all the other Districts out there. So we assume, at least.

The Hunger Games Mockingjay – Part 2 hits theaters on November 20, with Jennifer Lawrence putting on her pin and picking up her bow-and-arrow one final time.

What are critics saying about the final installment of this beloved franchise?

It’s safe to assume you’re going to see it as soon as possible no matter what, but here’s a rundown of some positive and negative The Hunger Games Mockingjay – Part  reviews:

As it turns out, they saved the best for last. “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” is a dark film, in a dramatically satisfying way. – The Arizona Republic

Mockingjay – Part 2 deserves credit for incorporating real-world themes like media manipulation, terrorism and power vacuums, but its somber-faced, hand-wringing treatment can be tough to take seriously. – Newsday

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 brings the four-film saga of Katniss Everdeen and her revolutionary war to a dutiful, fairly satisfying if undeniably attenuated conclusion. – The Chicago Tribune

Mockingjay – Part 2 is a grim, dark, trippy, violent and sometimes just plain bizarre journey, which makes for a fitting if uneven conclusion to a film series that’s always been weird. – The Chicago Sun-Times

It’s a rare film adaptation that improves upon the original text, highlighting its crucial themes while streamlining and shaping the action into something legible and gripping. – Vanity Fair

This fourth and final entry into the cinematic world of Katniss and company is a bit of overkill, but certainly will please fans who can now say they have lived though the whole epic story which of course was cooked up by Suzanne Collins in her literary trilogy. – Deadline

All those years ago when I turned my nose at the first film for its apparently franchise-friendly machinations, and at the second film for how the marketing contradicted the messaging, I was falling head-first into a trap. Well played, Katniss. Well played. – Forbes

The Hunger Games: A Tribute to the Tributes

With The Hunger Games set to wrap up its four-part masterpiece via Mockingjay – Part 2, it"s time to pay tribute to … well… the Tributes who have comprised this beloved movie franchise.

But also the clothing designers… and politicians… and residents of District 12 who we"ve grown to know and love over the years.

We"ve ranked our favorite Hunger Games characters below, from worst to best. Keep in mind, though, that this is all relative:

We love each and every one of the characters who have helped bring this book series to life on the big screen.

12. Rue

Rue

We’d rank Rue a lot higher, but let’s be honest: she was barely in half of one movie. Her impact, however, helped spur a revolution.

11. Cinna

Cinna

Also loses some points for getting killed. It’s not fair, we know. But we’ll never forget the first person who helped Katniss truly believe she would be the winner and the leader that she ended up becoming.

10. President Alma Coin

President alma coin

She’s too vital to the final two parts of the story not to receive a mention. Perfectly portrayed by Julianne Moore.

9. Finnick Odair

There was more than met the eye with this handsome Tribute. Tough, calm, cool and collected on the outside, Finnick eventually revealed the softie inside.

8. Johanna Mason

Johanna mason

Smart, tough, loyal and creative: She won her Hunger Games by pretending to be weak and cowardly, only to prove herself as a vicious killer when it mattered most.

7. Peeta Mellark

Peeta mellark

No list can be complete without Peeta. But he doesn’t earn a higher spot simply because he isn’t the most captivating character in The Hunger Games. He’s important, but not hugely entertaining on his own.

And while movie goes have been treated to the same The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 trailer for awhile now, fans of the small screen have actually viewed more variety.

The film has released a number of TV spot, culminating in an especially dramatic one that aired on Tuesdsy evening.

The new one-minute preview debuted during Game 1 of the World Series between the New York Mets and Kansas City Royals, taking a look back at Katniss" (Jennifer Lawrence) journey as she gets ready to take down The Capitol

Once and for all, dammit.

Remember when Katniss had to compete in The Hunger Games? Remember when she would go out into the woods with her bow, her arrow and Liam Hemsworth as Gale?

There"s also some new footage included here, which mixes with the old footage to form a delicious cocktail of nostalgia and suspense.

The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Trailer: For Prim…

I never asked for this. I just wanted to save my sister.

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, one that does not depict any actual footage from the upcoming blockbuster.

And yet one that continues to send shivers up our spine each time we watch.

It focuses on the relationship between Katniss and Prim and how it has evolved over the course of three (amazing!) movies.

We see kind words exchanged between sisters. We see many emotional embraces. We see and we hear Prim talking about "Hope" and all Katniss means to everyone… and we wonder why November 20 cannot be here already! Sheesh!

Check out the moving trailer and let the countdown to the final installment of this franchise truly begin.
