John McCain: Read the Tributes in His Honor

American has lost an icon.

No matter how you felt about John McCain"s politics, it"s impossible to argue with the impact this Vietnam War hero had on his nation.

The Republican nominee for President in 2008 and a Senator from Arizona since 1987, McCain died from brain cancer on Saturday, August 25.

Within minutes, tributes poured forth from past Presidents, current politicians and many others.

McCain was viewed with respect from both sides of the aisle unlike perhaps any politician in the last 50 years.

Read some of the most notable messages below and join us in sending condolences to the entire McCain family…

Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel Post Cute Anniversary Tributes

Not every start or hearthrob from the turn of the century remains a star or gets their happily ever after. For proof, look no further than Aaron Carter’s many, many problems.

But, as so many of us hoped back in the late ’90s, both Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are now living their best lives. Just … not with each other. And that’s okay.

In fact, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are immensely precious and adorable together. Look at what they each wrote for their 5-year anniversary!

It’s weird, thinking back on it.

Some celebrity couples, like Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, seem almost preordained.

(One could argue that the writers from That ’70s Show set the couple up)

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber, who are thankfully no longer together (although they’re talking again), both rose to fame around the same time. It was sort of a natural fit.

Other couples aren’t quite what you would have expected, back when they first became famous.

Justin Timberlake was on The All-New Micky Mouse Club and then skyrocked the fame as the most thirsted after member of NSYNC when they launched in the ’90s.

He’s been an enduring sex symbol ever since, though he’s definitely more in the “DILF” category now. That’s how time works, but it’s been kinder to him than to many of his former bandmates.

And then there’s Jessica Biel, who might still be best known for her role on that old Christian family drama, Seventh Heaven.

But in 2007, they met at the Golden Globe Awards. That, according to witnesses, is when “sparks flew.”

We don’t believe in love at first sight, exactly, but overpowering thirst at first sight can absolutely blossom into genuine love.

Because just look at them now.

On October 19th, 2012, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married.

And that means that, yes, yesterday was the beautiful couple’s 5 year wedding anniversary.

Justin Timberlake left

“#TBT to a late night freestyle session on a break in the studio — YES I’ve been back in the studio cooking!”

So he’s back in the studio for real, but he shared some black-and-white throwbacks of himself in the studio.

“But, today is even more special for me because five years ago, on this day, I became the luckiest man in the world when I exchanged vows with my best friend. This song was our first dance.”

Awwww! That is so cute, you guys!

“To my beautiful @jessicabiel : You have taught me so much about what a true love means.”

Some things you have to do in order to properly understand them. Like computer programming. Or true love. Or surgery.

“I can’t put into words what these last five years have meant to me, so… ‘Listen to the melody ‘cause my love is in there hiding…"”

Hey, artistic expression is sometimes the best kind of expression.

He finished with the tags:

“#Happy5thAnniversaryWifey #ASongForYou”

That’s so sweet! Corny, but sweet.

It has to be surreal to be married to a sex symbol, even if you yourself are also a big-name actress and major Hollywood hottie.

Their son, Silas Randall Timberlake, is only two years old.

One day, he’s going to watch the Shrek movies — all 9,000 of them, by that point. Before he gets to the one where his father provides a guest voice, he’ll see Princess Fiona sleep in her childhood bedroom where a poster reads “Sir Justin.”

Like … that level of cultural impact that Justin Timberlake has had … it just has to be a little weird for the people who know him best.

Cool, but weird.

Jessica Biel, however, just counts herself lucky.

Her message of love and adoration for Justin was much more succinct.

“How lucky am I? Even if he’s initially skeptical, he always gets extra for me. #5”

She’s talking about him dancing goofily along to music with her, but it sounds like he’s like that all of the time.

And that’s so good to hear.

It sounds like Justin Timberlake might be playing the Superbowl Halftime Show this year.

You know, the musical performance that happens to have some sort of sporting event before and after it. The Halftime show is where the action is. And it’s where stars are born — remember Left Shark?

Well, Justin Timberlake has already been part of a similarly memorable Halftime Show … when he and Janet Jackson and an alleged ‘wardrobe malfunction” shocked audiences with Janet’s bare breast.

That was back in 2004. And we’re pretty sure that it was the origin of the term “wardrobe malfunction.”

Many people feel that, because Janet was blacklisted from so many networks in retaliation, Justin shouldn’t get to come back unless she can.

While that sounds fair to Janet, it sounds unfair to JT, you know?

We don’t know whether Justin should play the Halftime Show, but we think that Jessica Biel would be all for it.

Ami Brown Birthday Tributes Pour Forth Amidst Cancer Battle

Ami Brown is so far from alone.

The Alaskan Bush People star is battling stage four lung cancer and the prognosis from doctors is grave.

But the mother of seven can at least take comfort in knowing she’s surrounded by friends, family members, loved ones… and an endless array of fans.

brown bday

With the Discovery Channel personality celebrating a birthday this week, supporters from all corners of the Internet have come together to send Ami their very best wishes.

“Happy birthday to the matriarch of the Brown family and the glue that holds them together!” reads the caption to the Facebook photo above.

It has been Liked over 28,000 times.

Wrote another user of the World Wide Web:

“Happy birthday Ami, a beautiful woman inside and out. We pray you have a very blessed day surrounded by your loved ones.

“Sending our love and prayers! Continue to look up, that’s where our hope comes from.”

Brown recently spoke to People Magazine about her illness, telling the publication that “everything hurts” and adding:

“I realized early into this that it’s very easy to want to give up and just die. And on the pessimist side, it could be my last days.

“But I have the will to fight.”

It’s this brave and strong attitude that has endeared Brown to so many viewers over the years.

“Happy Birthday Ami, Praying fo you to have GREAT results from your treatments,” wrote another followers, adding that she can relate to Ami’s pain:

“I am a two time cancer survivor and wish you ALL the Best, LOVE You and your Family and show.”

And one more fan note:

“If prayers alone would heal cancer, you would be healed.

“You are a wonderful Mother, Wife and Role Model. You have raised a fine and loving family. You are a strong woman and have blessed our lives just by your inspiration.

“GOD Bless you and your family always.”

Billy Brown also spoke to People this month about the state of his wife, saying he almost never leaves her side and marveling over the courage his wife has displayed.

“She’s the strongest person I know, so if she’s saying it hurts, it really hurts. She tries to hide it from everybody but four or five times a day she bends over like a baby and cries.

“She bends over and tears run down. She put out seven babies without a grunt. I’ve always had a lot of respect for Ami, but I’ve got a lot more now.

“She makes me feel like a wuss.”

Based on her type of cancer, Brown has only been given a long-term survival rate of three percent.

As we said above, the outlook is grim.

However, as long as Ami is alive and fighting, we’ll maintain hope.

We join these fans in sending birthday wishes to the reality star and we hope we can do the same next year at this time.

Hang in there, Ami.

2016 Celebrity Deaths: A Tributes to the Stars

Prince. David Bowie. Muhammed Ali. Gene Wilder. Alan Thicke, George Michael. Carrie Fisher.

There have been far too many celebrity deaths in 2016.

Before we turn the calendar and hope for better in the new year, however, here"s a look back at some of the most memorable tributes from living stars to those that left us too soon…

1. Joanna Kerns on Alan Thicke

Joanna kerns on alan thicke

Alan had this way about him. He was handsome, cocky, and fiercely intelligent, but he was no saint. That was what made him so much fun. He lived to connect with people, and even more important, he loved to make them laugh. He was happiest when he could perform. It’s very hard to have a self-deprecating humor about the silliness in yourself, but he could do it better than anybody… Growing Pains was a gift. It lifted us both out of insecurity and changed my life forever. Best of all, it introduced me to Alan. He was my mentor and friend, and I loved him.

2. Henry Winkler on Garry Marshall

Henry winkler on garry marshall

Wisdom. Generosity. No-nonsense. Warm. Funny. Loyal. These are the words that frame his life. He carved his own avenue through the world… I will never get over missing him. I will never get over the gratitude that I have that I was able to have him in my life.

3. Barbra Streisand on Pat Conroy

Barbra streisand on pat conroy

Do you know how you just feel comfortable with some people immediately? That’s how I felt with Pat. I wanted to hear his stories: about his father, his mother, his family, his whole life. I was greedy for any detail that would help me flesh out the characters and understand his world. After I showed the movie to Pat, he wrote me a long, beautiful letter that I will treasure forever, and one of the lines was, ‘You gave me my book back to me.’ At the very end, he said, ‘Let me tell you this: I love the movie version of The Prince of Tides. I simply love it. The book has many flaws based on basic flaws of my character. But the movie sings and soars.

4. Sheila E. on Prince

Prince pic

You’re first attracted by the melody of what he’s created, and then you start singing those lyrics. It was just incredible how he would talk about something so personal and specific, but in a way that you’re thinking, ‘Wait. What did he just say?’ Some of the rock & roll bands did that as well, but he did it in a different way. He was an amazing songwriter and, I think, one of the greatest guitar players ever.

5. Ray Romano on Doris Roberts

Ray romano on doris roberts

She played this woman who was intrusive, jealous, and overbearing, who could have easily been hated by the audience. But they adored her because she showed where it came from — love. That’s who she was in real life.

6. Paul McCartney on George Martin

Paul mccartney on george martin

I can’t think of anyone who was as good a producer and whose input was as significant to a band as George Martin was to us.

Prince in Memoriam: Photos, Tributes, Videos and More

It may remain impossible to believe, but it also remains true:

Prince is dead.

The entertainment world and the world in general continue to wrestle with this tragic fact.

Especially because the death of this multiple-time Grammy Award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee remains a mystery.

Did drugs play a role? Was he suffering from a chronic illness?

Did he have some idea that the end was near, prior to his collapsing in an elevator in his home in Minnesota on Thursday morning?

We should find out a lot more after the medical examiner comes back with a full report.

For now, however, all we can do is look back on a unique, talented, eccentric, inspiring, entertaining life that was lived exactly as Prince wanted to live it.

He was one of a kind, as the following photo gallery helps depict:

It’s difficult to remember any celebrity death that has matched this one in terms of the sheer impact it has had on others in the industry.

Consider what Will Smith had to say about Prince and then read through these moving tributes:

Prince was surprisingly camera shy for such a magnetic presence, carefully picking and choosing when he would make a television appearance.

But he blew us away at halftime of the Super Bowl in 2007.

And he cracked us up on New Girl many years later.

Here’s a look back at nine times Prince made a memorable appearance on the small screen:

As shared above, countless celebrities have sent along their condolences and their memories of Prince, mostly over social media platforms.

But Lin-Manuel Miranda led the cast of Hamilton in a different kind of tribute, one special enough that we felt the need to give it its own space:

And the same goes for Jennifer Hudson and the cast of The Color Purple:

God bless you, Prince.

Allow us to send a Kiss to heaven and for us to Party Like It’s 1999 in your honor this weekend.

If we see Kim Kardashian on stage anywhere, we’ll even give her the boot. Just for you.

The Hunger Games: A Tribute to the Tributes

With The Hunger Games set to wrap up its four-part masterpiece via Mockingjay – Part 2, it"s time to pay tribute to … well… the Tributes who have comprised this beloved movie franchise.

But also the clothing designers… and politicians… and residents of District 12 who we"ve grown to know and love over the years.

We"ve ranked our favorite Hunger Games characters below, from worst to best. Keep in mind, though, that this is all relative:

We love each and every one of the characters who have helped bring this book series to life on the big screen.

12. Rue

Rue

We’d rank Rue a lot higher, but let’s be honest: she was barely in half of one movie. Her impact, however, helped spur a revolution.

11. Cinna

Cinna

Also loses some points for getting killed. It’s not fair, we know. But we’ll never forget the first person who helped Katniss truly believe she would be the winner and the leader that she ended up becoming.

10. President Alma Coin

President alma coin

She’s too vital to the final two parts of the story not to receive a mention. Perfectly portrayed by Julianne Moore.

9. Finnick Odair

Finnick odair

There was more than met the eye with this handsome Tribute. Tough, calm, cool and collected on the outside, Finnick eventually revealed the softie inside.

8. Johanna Mason

Johanna mason

Smart, tough, loyal and creative: She won her Hunger Games by pretending to be weak and cowardly, only to prove herself as a vicious killer when it mattered most.

7. Peeta Mellark

Peeta mellark

No list can be complete without Peeta. But he doesn’t earn a higher spot simply because he isn’t the most captivating character in The Hunger Games. He’s important, but not hugely entertaining on his own.
