Matthew Perry on "Death"s Door" Following Emergency Operation
Matthew Perry is fighting for his life, according to a troubling new report.
The former Friends star “recently underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hospital to repair a gastrointestinal perforation,” his rep has confirmed to multiple outlets.
This statement concludes as follows:
“He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals.”
For the record, a gastrointestinal perforation takes place when a hole develops in the lining of the throat to rectum area; it can be caused by a multitude of factors — such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and appendicitis.
We got this information from the Mayo Clinic.
But we’ve also gleaned some intel from Radar Online, which is not treating Perry’s condition in a casual manner.
This website claims that Perry may not even survive as a result of the “severe stomach pains” that led to his hospitalization and subsequent surgery this week.
“He was in bad shape, and only recently has shown signs of improvement,” a source tells Radar of Perry. “But he’s still not well.”
Perry had battled substance abuse problems over the years, occasionally speaking to the press and the public about these personal obstacles and hiccups.
Drinking too much, it should be noted here, can contribute to digestive health issues.
“I’ve had a lot of ups and downs in my life and a lot of wonderful accolades,” Perry said three years ago, adding:
“But the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic comes up to me and says, ‘Will you help me stop drinking?’ I will say, ‘Yes. I know how to do that."”
This same year, Perry opened up a sober-living facility named the Perry House.
He has done all he can to educate folks on alcoholism and to assist others in his same situation.
This is why we hope Radar’s headline, which really does clam that Perry is on “death’s door,” is nothing but click bait-based hyperbole.
The site also alleges that Perry has been on a “downward spiral” since 2016, despite personal claims that he’s been safely on the wagon.
“I had a big problem with pills and alcohol, and I couldn’t stop,” the star told People Magazine in 2013, boasting at the time about his newfound sobriety.
Around this same time, Perry received a Champion of Recovery award from the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Two years later, after leaving a treatment center called The Phoenix House, Perry told The Hollywood Reporter:
“I’m an award-winning alcoholic. I shouldn’t be getting an award; Phoenix House should be getting an award.
Perry, of course, will forever be known as Chandler Bing from Friends.
But his television resume also includes roles on The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The Good Wife, Go On and The Odd Couple.

Stephanie Adams: Former Playmate and Young Son Plunge to Their Deaths
According to reports, early Friday morning, a 47-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy were found dead after an apparent jump from a Manhattan building.
This is a grim story, no matter what transpired before they plummeted to their deaths below.
And now multiple news outlets believe that they have identified the woman as a former Playboy centerfold model.
First, what we know with relative certainty.
According to Lieutenant John Grimpel, a 47-year-old woman appears to have jumped from the 25th floor of the Gotham Hotel in Manhattan.
Police indicate that this occurred at around 8:15 AM on Friday morning.
Reports say that the two bodies were found on the second-floor landing of the Gotham Hotel’s courtyard.
Police were not initially willing to confirm or deny the identities of the deceased, for obvious reasons.
One, identifying them may have been challenging if normal identifiers were not available.
Two, as is always important, police needed to notify the family.
There’s no good way to learn that you have lost a loved one, but learning from the news would have to be one of the worst.
Multiple media outlets, including The New York Post and NBC News 4, are reporting that this woman was Stephanie Adams.
Stephanie Adams was a former Playboy model.
In fact, she was the November centerfold in 1992.
Which would make the 7-year-old boy Vincent, her son.
She shared Vincent with her estranged husband, Charles Nicolai, the owner of of Wall Street Chiropractic & Wellness.
Staff at that practice have declined to comment.
Reports say that Stephanie and Nicolai were engaged in a fierce court battle over custody of their son.
Things were allegedly so contentious between them that handovers of Vincent took place at a NYPD precinct, allegedly to “prevent violence” from occurring.
Stephanie filed for divorce from Nicolai in 2017, and she was currently seeking child support from him.
As is often the case during divorces, she owed money to her attorneys.
Adding to this, The New York Post reports that Stephanie had become distraught because she would not be able to take her son on a trip to Europe over the summer.
She and her estranged husband fought over this and, ultimately, a judge sided with Nicolai — and ordered Stephanie to surrender Vincent’s passport.
Stephanie Adams, who claims to be a descendant of John Quincy Adams and who entered the modeling profession at age 16, had a history of both civil rights advocacy and of troubled lawsuits.
But none of this explains what could have led her and her son to plunge to their tragic and premature deaths on Friday morning.
Our sympathies go out to their loved ones as they struggle with this loss.
We hope that investigators are able to provide answers.

Brad Pitt: "Devastated" By Deaths of Chris Cornell, Brad Grey
It’s been a rough year for Brad Pitt.
The actor admits that in the wake of his high-profile divorce from Angelina Jolie, he fell into a deep depression, and began self-medicating heavily.
After seeking treatment, Pitt recently revealed that he’s sober and working again but just days after assuring fans that he’s back on his feet, the beloved screen icon was struck by a pair of devastating blows.
Two major figures in the world of entertainment passed away in the past week, and while one was much a more recognized name than the other, both were close friends of Pitt’s, who is reportedly devastated by their loss.
The first was producer Brad Grey, a former business partner of Brad’s, who passed on Monday at he age of 59.
As Pitt was reportedly still reeling from the loss of a man he considered one of his closest friends, he got news that Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell had been found dead in a Detroit hotel room.
Pitt has spoken at length about what a huge fan he is of Cornell’s music:
“I’m a big Chris Cornell addict, anything he does,” Brad told Cinema Confidential magazine when asked about his favorite music.
More importantly, however, Cornell and Pitt were friends.
Their kids attended one another’s birthday parties, and Pitt joined Cornell on stage during a benefit concert in January.
“I get to introduce a very, very good friend of mine and someone I’ve known for quite a while, and I’m a huge fan of, Mr. Chris Cornell,” Pitt told the crowd.
The back-to-back deaths of two of his best friends has reportedly shaken Pitt to his core.
“He is devastated and in shock,” a source tells E! News.
“He is trying to process the loss of two great friends. This has hit him very hard.”
In the case of Grey, Pitt was reportedly one of a select view who was aware of the Paramount mogul’s illness.
The knowledge of his friend’s health issues, reportedly did little to soften the blow for Brad:
“With Brad Grey, Brad Pitt was one of the few people who knew he was sick. Grey was told he had a few weeks to live, but he didn’t even get that long. He was gone way too soon,” says one insider.
Sources say Brad will continue to use therapy and the emotional he gained in rehab to get through this extraordinarily difficult time.

2016 Celebrity Deaths: A Tributes to the Stars
Prince. David Bowie. Muhammed Ali. Gene Wilder. Alan Thicke, George Michael. Carrie Fisher.
There have been far too many celebrity deaths in 2016.
Before we turn the calendar and hope for better in the new year, however, here"s a look back at some of the most memorable tributes from living stars to those that left us too soon…
1. Joanna Kerns on Alan Thicke
Alan had this way about him. He was handsome, cocky, and fiercely intelligent, but he was no saint. That was what made him so much fun. He lived to connect with people, and even more important, he loved to make them laugh. He was happiest when he could perform. It’s very hard to have a self-deprecating humor about the silliness in yourself, but he could do it better than anybody… Growing Pains was a gift. It lifted us both out of insecurity and changed my life forever. Best of all, it introduced me to Alan. He was my mentor and friend, and I loved him.
2. Henry Winkler on Garry Marshall
Wisdom. Generosity. No-nonsense. Warm. Funny. Loyal. These are the words that frame his life. He carved his own avenue through the world… I will never get over missing him. I will never get over the gratitude that I have that I was able to have him in my life.
3. Barbra Streisand on Pat Conroy

5. Ray Romano on Doris Roberts
She played this woman who was intrusive, jealous, and overbearing, who could have easily been hated by the audience. But they adored her because she showed where it came from — love. That’s who she was in real life.
6. Paul McCartney on George Martin
I can’t think of anyone who was as good a producer and whose input was as significant to a band as George Martin was to us.

Chris Brown Accused of Exploiting Alton Sterling, Philando Castile Deaths
As you no doubt heard, the online community was rocked yesterday by the shocking video of police shooting and killing Alton Sterling, a 37-year-old father of five who was murdered in his hometown of Baton Rouge, LA.
While the world was still reeling from yet another death at the hands of American police officers, another horrifying incident took place last night, this one in Minnesota.
Lavish Reynolds, the girlfriend of 32-year-old Philando Castile, livestreamed on Facebook as Castile died from gunshot wounds inflicted by a cop.
Reynolds was forbidden to do anything to help Castile as he lay dying in her passenger seat.
The officer who discharged his weapon kept his gun pointed at the couple and shouted obscenities while Castile took his last breaths.
Naturally most celebrities reacted with compassion, outrage and pleas for change:
Unfortunately, celebrities are like regular people – except they’re usually more sheltered and narcissistic – so some of them responded to the situation like full-blown jackasses.
For one, there are the many who posted photos and address information of a man named Robert Kinnison, falsely identifying him as the cop responsible for Sterling’s death.
(Pro tip: Do a little research before you sic an angry mob on someone.)
And then there’s Chris Brown, aka Breezy, aka Douche of the Millenium.
Brown has been accused of exploiting the deaths of Sterling and Castile with the following tweet:
“This song I released for free for anybody dealing with injustice or struggle in their lives…”
Naturally, it was followed by a link to his Soundcloud page.
Maybe Breezy’s heart was in the right place.
And maybe he’s currently being , so he probably shouldn’t be instructing the rest of us on how to heal the world.

19 Shocking Game of Thrones Deaths
Every season of Game of Thrones is packed with jaw-dropping violence, and season 5 was no exception.
Over the years we"ve seen beheadings, poisonings, death by infected boo-boo (RIP, Khal Drogo), a man getting shot by an arrow while being burned (pour one out for Mance Rayder), even the old "molten gold dumped over the head" trick.
But even with all those grisly shockers, no one (aside from the smug spoiler machines who read the books!) could have predicted the astonishing final moments of Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 10.
Is Jon Snow dead? If so, will he be raised by Melisandre, bro-down with the Night"s King, and take revenge on the traitors who stabbed him?
We won"t know for several months (Even the book-readers can"t spoil this one!), but for now we"re declaring Jon Snow DOA , just like the rest of these poor SOBs.
Like his namesake element, Snow may be back next season, but for now, he"s earned a spot on our list of Game of Thrones most memorable deaths:
19. Viserys Gets Crowned
Viserys was up there with King Joffrey in terms of douchebags we loved to hate. Even so, his death by molten gold is tough to watch.
18. Mande Rayder Swekered at His Own Barbecue!
Mance Rayder was spared a brutal death on Game of Thrones. He still died, of course…it just wasn’t quite as brutal.
17. Tyrion Gets His Revenge
Tywin and Shae learned a valuable lesson: Don’t mess with the Imp. Unfortunately, it’s too late for them to do anything with that knowledge.
16. Balon Takes A Swan Dive
Euron returned to the Iron Islands, and in his quest to take over the throne, he killed Balon.
15. Ser Hugh Gets Skewered

Robin Williams has tragically died. The actor committed suicide at the age of 63.
4. Philip Seymour Hoffman
Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away at the age of 46. He was found with a needle in his arm and had a history of drug abuse.
5. Cory Monteith
Cory Monteith was 27 years old when he passed away. He overdosed on drugs during a night of partying in Vancouver.
6. Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger left us with one final, amazing performance. He earned an Oscar for his work as The Joker.

Bobby Brown Blames Nick Gordon For Deaths of Bobbi Kristina Brown AND Whitney Houston
Last night, 20/20 aired a long-anticipated interview with Bobby Brown, in which the troubled singer opened up about the deaths of his former wife, Whitney Houston, and his only daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
Ever since Bobbi Kristina passed away nearly one year ago, Brown has maintained that her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, is to blame for her death.
Police have investigated Gordon, but it currently doesn’t look as though he’ll face any criminal charges.
Despite that, Brown’s belief that Gordon is guilty of murder hasn’t wavered.
In fact, in his sit-down with Robin Roberts, Brown doubled-down on his accusations, suggesting that Gordon is at fault not only in the death of Bobbi Kristina, but in the tragic passing of her mother, as well:
“It’s not a mystery to me,” Brown says in the clip above.
“I know exactly what happened to my daughter. The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney.
“There’s only one person who was around on both occasions.”
“You won’t say his name,” Roberts prompts. “Nick Gordon is who you’re referring to.”
“I won’t say his name,” Brown confirms.
The interview is getting a lot of attention online today, not only because of Brown’s allegations against Gordon, but also because of a number of bizarre statements he made to Roberts.
In addition to declaring that he’s slept with both Madonna and Janet Jackson, Brown says that he once had a sexual encounter with a ghost.
“I bought this mansion in Georgia,” Brown says at one point.
“This is was a really, really spooky place … One time I woke, and yeah, a ghost. I was being mounted by a ghost.”
It’s still unclear what exactly happened to Bobbi Kristina that fateful night but at least one thing remains certain:
The Browns remain a very strange and deeply troubled family.

Celine Dion Opens About Deaths of Husband, Brother: The Show Must Go On!
Back in January, Celine Dion’s husband of 21 years, Rene Angelil, passed away following a lengthy battle with throat cancer.
Shortly thereafter, her brother, Daniel Dion, died also after fighting stage 4 cancer that began in his throat and spread to his brain and several other organs.
Understandably, Celine has chosen to keep a low profile for the past few months, but it seems she’s now ready to return to the spotlight, which she says is the best way she knows how to pay tribute to the husband who helped make her a global icon.
Celine covers the new issue of People magazine, and she’s also slated to perform at the 2016 Billboard Awards this weekend, where she’ll perform Queen’s “The Show Must Go On,” a song that had special significance to her and Angelil:
“René always insisted the show must go on,” the singer says.
“You know what, I’m 48 years old and I lost the love of my life. I miss him a lot from when he was great but not when he was suffering. I cannot be selfish. You have to let people go. I feel at peace.”
As much as she clearly misses Angelil, it sounds as though Celine is in a way relieved that his long health struggles are at end:
“It’s been a long, long journey,” Dion says about caring for her late husband. “We were living in hope, knowing that there’s no hope.”
Now, she says, she’s primarily focused on showing her kids that (apologies for the unfortunate Titanic pun) her heart will go on:
“I really, really want to prove to my kids their mother is strong,” she tells the mag.
Celine and Rene had 3 children together, René-Charles, 15, and 5½-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.
In addition to being her husband, Angelil worked as Dion’s manager and promoter for the bulk of her legendary career.

One of the most difficult episodes of Grey’s Anatomy to watch included a mass shooting at the hospital. Among the victims was one of the new residents who came from the merger with Mercy West, Reed Adamson, who was shot squarely in the forehead.

Rarely does a new intern or resident stay around for very long on Grey’s Anatomy, but Charles Percy died a horrible death as another victim of the hospital shooting. Bailey tried to save him, but it couldn’t be done.
