Jamie Lynn Spears: Mom-Shamed Over Young Daughter"s Gun Photo!

Just two months ago, Jamie Lynn Spears showed the first photos of her infant daughter, Ivey Joan Watson.

Now, her husband is showing off pics of her eldest daughter, Maddie Aldridge, and the photo is proving to be controversial among fans.

Why? Because Maddie is wielding a shotgun and poised to go hunting at only 10 years old.

Jamie Lynn Spears’ husband, Jamie Watson, shared a photo of the couple’s young daughter, Maddie Aldridge.

Maddie is 10 years old, and famously miraculously recovered from drowning just a year and a half ago.

In the photo, Maddie is standing outdoors and sporting a shotgun with some protective gear over her ears.

“Getting her ready for dove season,” Jamie captioned the photo.

Take a look:

Followers who found the image alarming were quick to blast both Jamies — Jamie Lynn Spears and Jamie Watson — for taking her hunting.

“Jesus no wonder America it’s drowning faster than the titanic,” wrote one commenter in despair.

“Put down the gun, pick up a pair of binoculars, & take a hike together,” suggested one follower. “For me, teaching kids to kill when there is absolutely no need seems very, very wrong.”

“Stupid, stupid,” another wrote succinctly.

Another took aim at a defense of the practice, writing: “Honor the outdoors by killing innocent animals? Disgusting [point of view].”

“A 10 year old with a shotgun,” one commenter lamented. “If that’s not redneck I don’t know what is.”

Maddie’s aunt Britney may be the absolute queen of pop, but she and her sister are from Louisiana. They’ve been called some unflattering things.

“You´re so irresponsible,” another fan wrote. “Guns are not a toy.”

“it’s ironic they post about their amazing dog (who is totally dependent on them) all the time,” someone wrote. “When they then go and kill animals that are living their own lives minding their own business.”

This person seems to be okay with hunting when adults are doing it, but hates the idea of kids wielding deadly weapons, writing: “Teaching kids to kill things is weird leave that till they’re older, man.”

“Bad parents,” another simply wrote.

As with any controversy, there were also defenders.

“Welcome to the South people. If you dont like it, head out!” writes one defender, who does not speak for all Southerners.

“That little girl has more talent and could completely take care of herself and she just turned 10,” that commenter continues.

Finally, that commenter laments: “Ugh I cannot stand judgement from people who know nothing about what they are looking at! Get it Maddie!”

“I have followed you and @jamielynnspears for years and I so respect your admirable life that you live,” another writes.

They continue: “Seeing celebrities allow their children to live normal lives that kids should live and also honor the love of outdoors regardless of disapproval from some people is amazing and gives me hope in future kids!”

That commenter may be missing the point — the people who take issue with this don’t consider gun-toting animal-killing as part of children’s normal lives.

“I pray she stays like that all of her life,” the commenter concludes. “And passes it on to her kids!”

“You are a wonderful father to Maddie,” another defender writes to Jamie Watson. “Teaching her right.”

This person laments that so many children enjoy engaging storytelling and interacting with their peers using electronics instead of hunting.

“So many kids are hung up on video games and their IPads they never see the outdoors,” the defender continues. “So kudos to you!”

It’s interesting, since a (widely debunked) criticism of video games is that they somehow turn children violent, to see someone praising hunting, which involves actual, real-world violence, as an alternative.

Hunting is always going to be controversial — but it’s unclear if Jamie Watson was trying to stir up controversy or was just proud of Maddie’s outdoorsy, athletic spirit.

Jamie Lynn Spears Shows Off Precious Pic of Newborn Baby

Back in April, Jamie Lynn Spears welcomed her new baby girl! The sweet little newborn’s name is Ivey Joan.

Now, Jamie Lynn has shared a photo from a family outing — including precious baby Ivey.

The best part is that everyone is dressed up in matching outfits! Take a look.

Do you follow sports much?

Jamie Lynn and her family sure do. More than that — Maddie plays.

The photo that you’re about to see isn’t the first time that we’ve seen them all dressed up in sports uniforms on a family outing.

But it is the first time that the adorable Ivey Joan has gotten to take part in that family tradition.

The results are absolutely adorable.

Jamie Lynn very succinctly captioned this photo:

“My #1’s.”

Pictured are her husband, Jamie Watson, her daughter, Maddie Aldridge, and her sweet little baby, Ivey Joan.

They’re all dressed up in team swag for a team called the Louisiana Swarms.

(Yes, the mascot for it looks intensely racist, but we’d rather take that up for whoever’s responsible for it than with the fans)

The family went to cheer on Maddie as she played baseball.

In this gif, made from a video that Jamie Lynn shared, Maddie successfully strikes the ball with the bat and then runs, as one is supposed to do in baseball.

Not only does she make it to first base but, as you can see, she goes to second base and then third base, capitalizing on the opposing team’s inability to halt her progress.

Though she plays it safe at the end rather than trying to run for home plate and complete the rhombus, that is a tremendous amount of progress to make so quickly.

Proud mom Jamie Lynn captioned the clip:

“Maddie turned her single into a triple by running hard on the other team’s error.”

This family deserves its happiness.

Back in February, Jamie Lynn marked the anniversary of her daughter’s seemingly miraculous recovery.

A year earlier, in February of 2017, Maddie was injured in an ATV accident.

The ATV flipped over, trapping her beneath it in a pond. Maddie was unable to breathe for an alarming amount of time.

But children are notably resilient to brain trauma that would prove fatal or life-altering to adults.

Maddie was able to spring back, even participating in Valentine’s Day with her classmates. It was adorable … and such a relief.

Everyone is so pleased that Maddie recovered and is such a success story.

(Here, for the record, Jamie Lynn is holding a friend’s newborn, born only six weeks after Ivey Joan)

Can we talk about Jamie Lynn’s post-baby body, by the way?

We know that she’s young and hot — her big sister is Britney Freaking Spears, after all.

But pregnancy can radically transform a person’s body in ways that can linger for months or years after childbirth.

As much as we are impressed by Maddie’s athleticism and as much as we adore Ivey Joan, we think that Jamie Lynn deserves kudos for bouncing back the way that she has.

Jamie Lynn Spears Welcomes Baby Girl!

Back in December, fans rejoiced at the news that Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant with her second child. Now, she’s announced even more good news.

And we don’t just mean her sister Britney Spears’ new GLAAD Award — though she did give her big sis a shout-out over it.

Jamie Lynn Spears has welcomed the birth of her baby girl!

Speaking to People, Jamie Lynn Spears spoke of her second daughter, Ivey Joan Watson.

“We are beyond excited to welcome this beautiful baby girl to our family!”

This newborn baby is the second daughter that Jamie Lynn has had with her husband, Jamie Watson.

“Her middle name, Joan, is to honor my Aunt Sandra, who passed away 10 years ago from ovarian cancer.”

That’s so sad. And so sweet.

“She was the most graceful woman I’ve ever known.”

It’s always good to have an inspirational namesake.

On Instagram, Jamie Lynn linked to the People article, writing:

“Baby Ivey Joan Watson is here!”

Ivy is such a beautiful name, and she’s giving it a unique twist to differentiate it from the type of plant by adding that “E.”

Also, despite her explanation for the middle name, it’s worth noting that Joan Watson is the name of Lucy Liu’s iconic character on the CBS series, Elementary.

When the news broke, some fans immediately began tweeting that perhaps this is not a coincidence.

The People article also includes the exact details.

Ivey Joan was born on Wednesday, April 11, at 10:02 a.m. It’s kind of rare to have such specific numbers from the initial announcement.

(That’ll be helpful for a fan if they’re into astrology and want to do a horoscope for a baby they’ll never meet)

This sweet baby girl was born in Covington, Louisiana, weighing 7 lbs., 8 oz.

That’s above average but not especially large for a newborn.

She measured 19½ inches in length at birth, if the body lengths of newborns born to former Nickelodeon stars who were once the sisters of celebrities are a thing that interest you.

But, as we mentioned, this was not even the only highlight this week for the extended Spears family.

Though Britney is known for not always attending events to which she has been invited, she arrived at the 2018 GLAAD Media Awards.

And she brought her unnecessarily attractive boyfriend, Sam Asghari, as her date.

In addition to receiving the 2018 GLAAD Vanguard Award for her role in accelerating acceptance for the LGBTQ community, Britney also “caused” a bit of a disruption.

She didn’t actually do anything other than accept the award.

But other attendees were so excited to see her that there was reportedly a bit of a commotion that slowed down the presentation of awards.

Hey, who wouldn’t be thrilled to bask in Britney’s presence?

Jamie Lynn already has a daughter named Maddie.

Just two months ago, Jamie Lynn was celebrating the anniversary of her daughter’s miraculous recovery from a frighteningly close brush with death.

Maddie is incredibly resilient and pulled through, making an impressive recovery and even returning to school within days.

We’re sure that, having reflected on nearly losing her daughter, Jamie Lynn will pull out all of the stops to make sure that nothing like that can happen to Ivey Joan.

Just as she’s gone above and beyond to ensure that Maddie remains safe.

Congratulations to the Watson family on their newest addition!

Jamie Lynn Spears: Grateful for Daughter"s "Miracle" Recovery, One Year Later

One year ago, Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter was injured in a horrifying ATV accident. Flipped upside down and trapped in the water, she was unable to breathe for a couple of minutes.

That accident landed her in the hospital. Many feared that she would either die or had received so much brain damage that the Maddie that her family knew would no longer exist. Instead, Maddie made a full recovery.

On the one year anniversary of that tragic accident that could have been so much worse, Jamie Lynn Spears is looking back and counting her blessings.

Posting this black-and-white throwback photo, Jamie Lynn Spears writes:

“1 year Miracle Anniversary…. THANK YALL for your prayers during that time, and THANK YOU GOD for my beautiful family.”

She follows that with some very prayerful emojis.

Even with Maddie’s full recovery, the terrible ATV accident and the hospital stay that followed have to have been the darkest, most frightening moments in the lives of her family.

Odds are that everyone is still processing what happened and feeling grateful for every day that passes.

Just a couple of months ago, Jamie Lynn Spears was reflecting on the accident. That’s no surprise.

It will weigh on her mind for years to come. Likely, for decades.

On February 5th of 2017, Maddie was riding a Polaris off-road vehicle during some sort of hunting trip.

(Jamie Watson is big on hunting for various fowl such a ducks, and is often accompanied by Maddie and the dogs)

Maddie was apparently driving an ATV, which is the sort of thing that would raise some eyebrows because many feel that she’s really young to be doing that, even on private property.

It was, perhaps, because of Maddie’s youth — or perhaps it was a situation that could have happened to anyone — that the vehicle flipped over in the water.

That alone is already dangerous. To make matters worse, people were initially unable to free Maddie from the vehicle.\

As a result, she was underwater for minutes.

Maddie was airlifted from Kentwood, Louisiana to a hospital where her condition was reported as being “extremely serious.”

Fans of the Spears family watched the news with horror and those of the praying sort got to praying for Maddie to beat the odds.

And Maddie did.

She’s totally okay. She went to school for Valentine’s Day.

Normally, human brain can only survive for a few minutes until oxygen deprivation begins to take its toll.

Some believe that Maddie’s recovery was a miracle. Her mother certainly refers to it as such.

Others point out that being submerged in water — particularly cold water, as it surely would be in February — is something that a child stands a better chance of surviving than an adult.

(We could get into the science of why cold water is “safer” even though it can also be deadly, but there have been children fished out of icy water who make amazing recoveries)

Maddie’s recovery is joyous news for the entire Spears family.

But not the only good news on the horizon. Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant with her second child, which means that Maddie is going to be a big sister!

If you’ll recall, Jamie Lynn’s first pregnancy was controversial. She was 16 years old at the time, and the star of Zoey 101 on Nickelodeon, a TV series by Dan Schneider who also created shows like iCarly and Victorious.

We hope that Maddie and her growing family remain safe and healthy.

Jamie Lynn Spears: Pregnant With Second Child!

Big news from one of the music world’s most famous families today:

Jamie Lynn Spears has announced that she’s expecting her second child!

The announcement comes courtesy of Spears’ Instagram page, which featured the above photo alongside the following caption over the holiday weekend:

“Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone…sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” Jamie Lynn wrote.

“2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist.”

She added:

“During that time, I continued working on my music and telling my story, which has created some of my most honest work and I [CAN’T] wait to share that with you all very soon. 2018 is going to be filled with many milestones both personally and professionally.”

“I appreciate each of you for your patience and support through I[it] all. 2018 has a lot coming, so GET READY,” Spears concluded.

Naturally, Jamie’s iconic sister, Britney Spears, was quick to share the news and offer her congratulations, tweeting:

“Maddie is going to be the best big sister!!! So happy for you @jamielynnspears!!!! Love you all sooo much!!!”

Spears gave birth to her first child, daughter Maddie Briann, back in 2008.

At the time, there was quite the uproar, as Jamie Lynn was just 16 and the star of a popular Nickelodeon kids’ series when she announced that she was pregnant.

It’s been a challenging year for Jamie Lynn, who experienced a near tragedy in February of 2017.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Maddie was in an ATV accident that nearly claimed her life.

The vehicle on which she was a passenger flipped over into a pond, and Maddie was stuck underwater for several minutes.

She was hospitalized for the next five days, the beginning of a long and difficult rehabilitation process.

The girl has since made a full recovery, but Jamie Lynn says the trauma of the incident remains with the entire family.

Maddie is said to be wildly excited about the prospect of becoming a big sister.

Our sincere congratulations go out to Jamie Lynn and husband Jamie Watson!

Jamie Lynn Spears Reflects on Almost Losing Daughter in Tragic Accident

It was been 10 months since Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter was injured in an ATV accident. Since then, Maddie has made an impressive recovery.

Now, Jamie Lynn is celebrating milestones in her life on social media, and reflecting on Maddie’s recovery and Maddie herself.

This is so heartwarming..

Maddie Aldridge’s tragic ATV accident could have cost the girl her life.

Maddie was driving an ATV — sometimes, that’s what you do when you’re part of a wealthy celebrity family and your aunt is some sort of deity-made-flesh — when it flipped upside-down in the water.

They were initially unable to free Maddie, resulting in her being trapped underwater for a couple of minutes, constrained by her seatbelt and by the protective netting on the vehicle.

It was an absolute nightmare for Maddie and for her parents.

Britney Spears asked for prayers from fans for her niece’s recovery. Initially, things looked grim.

As we all know, prolonged oxygen deprivation can have fatal results. And, even if Maddie survived, there was a chance that she’d lose things — motor skills, speech, memories — because of brain damage.

We are all so thankful that she made a full recovery. Maddie even returned to school less than two weeks later.

Still, it was a frightening time, and one that Maddie — and her family — will never forget.

Jamie Lynn Spears has been celebrating the 12 Days of Jamie Lynn Spears, reflecting upon her life’s major milestones.

She posted this photo (above) with the caption:

“The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie.”

Obviously. It’s heartbreaking just to think about.

“But thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old all together.”

During the two days that it took Maddie to wake up, her parents and other loved ones must have been wondering if Maddie’s 8th birthday would be her last.

“This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that.”

Jamie Lynn Spears also reflected on Maddie’s greater impact in her life.

“Some milestones we never see coming, but I’m so blessed that It did. Maddie is the biggest blessing in my life so far #12DaysofJLS”

That’s a very cute way of reminding the world that you got pregnant as a minor.

In fact, Maddie was still starring on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101 at the time when she became pregnant.

We should also point out that she calls Maddie “the biggest blessing in my life so far.

You can just call her your biggest blessing and lat it be understood that she’d be tied with any other children you might have down the line.

(Remember, Jamie Lynn Spears is only 26)

But Jamie Lynn gets points for accuracy.

Don’t worry, folks — not all of Jamie Lynn’s milestones are as dramatic as teen pregnancy or as heartbreaking as her daughter’s brush with death.

She’s also given a shoutout to her engagement, followed by her 2014 marriage, to her sister Britney Spears, and to her time on Zoey 101.

And, lest we forget, she also reminds us that she was on All That.

Gotta love those Nickelodeon classics, right?

Laura Lynn Cross: High School Teacher Gets Knocked Up with Student’s Baby, Arrested

Laura Lynn Cross, a former high school teacher in Ohio, has been arrested on sexual battery charges after she gave birth to the baby of a 17-year old student.

The 36-year old Cross didn’t merely sleep with the unnamed pupil, either.

According to WEWS and other news outlets, the ex-educator starting “grooming” the then-14-year old to be a potential baby daddy back when she first started sleeping with him in 2013.

The sexual relationship between Cross and this young man is said to have taken place between August 1, 2013 through September 6, 2016.

A few months before it started, the boy’s father approached authorities with concern over how close his son had grown to his teacher.

But no action was taken at that time.

Cross quit her job as an English teacher at Buchtel High School in Akron in January of 2015.

Back when the boy was in eighth grade, Cross invited him to go swimming in her pool before he later starting staying the night in her home.

teacher and student

Cross eventually convinced the pupil’s mother to permit her son move into her house in a court-approved “partial parental custody” arrangement.

She reportedly convinced the mother, who had custody of the teenager, that she could “mentor” the boy.

Cross gave birth to her baby in 2015, but managed to keep the child a secret until the boy’s father learned of the toddler and alerted police officers.

She has since been arrested and charged with three counts of sexual battery and is prison on $ 100,000 bond.

“It was a straight failure from the system. From the school and the police, definitely,” the boy’s father told local TV channel News 5 Cleveland.

hot teacher

He added:

“She had a hold on my son and [the police] told me he’s not co-operating with us so we no can do nothing with it…

“She’s a school teacher. To get aroused by a child, basically, you have to be a sick individual.”

The Akron school system says officials are “doing our [their] own internal investigation going back to 2012 to determine what exactly happened and when it happened.”

Well, we think we know what happened. We did learn our birds and our bees back in the day.

But when it happened and whether Cross violated any laws?

We’ll let the authorities straighten all of that out.

Jamie Lynn Spears" Daughter Celebrates Recovery at Disney World

Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie appears to be on the road to recovery.

The 8-year-old attended Disney World on Monday, March 13. This was just one month after a horrifying ATV accident that left the young girl in a critical condition.

The trip was a family affair, with the mother-daughter duo accompanied by Maddie’s aunt, Britney Spears, as well as cousins Sean James Federline and Jayden James Federline and Lexie Spears.

Jamie Lynn and Britney’s mother Lynn Spears was also in attendance.

The reason for the trip was partly because Britney was invited to the opening of the Planet Hollywood Observatory at Disney Springs, Orlando, Florida. Britney apparently took it as an opportunity for a family day out to celebrate Maddie’s recovery.

Also, Britney was probably trying to get over the fact that her man crush on Colton Haynes will always remain a crush.

She wanted to celebrate her niece’s recovery, so she whisked the family off in her private jet. How great would it be to have a private jet and just, like, go wherever the heck you want in the word?

Oh, how the other half lives.

Thankfully, Jamie Lynn kept fans updated on social media with a string of pictures from the family getaway.

Maddie was taken to hospital on February 5 when an unthinkable tragedy happened: The ATV she was driving flipped and landed in a pond.

Apparently, the young girl was trying to avoid an obstruction when the incident occurred.

The kid was under the water for at least two minutes but woke up two days after the accident.

It was a harrowing event for everyone involved, but we’re just thankful she seems to be on the road to recovery.

What do you think about all of this?

Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Sweet Photo of Daughter, Reflects on "God’s Grace"

Jamie Lynn Spears is once again giving thanks to The Big Guy Upstairs.

For a very understandable reason.

The former actress, not to mention the sister of Britney Spears, lived every parents’ worst nightmare a month ago.

On Sunday, February 5, Jamie Lynn’s eight-year old daughter, Maddie, flipped over her children’s off-road vehicle after swerving on her family’s property in order to avoid a drain.

The child ended up face-down in a pond, with neither Jamie Lynn nor husband Jamie Watson able to unfasten the little girl’s seatbelt.

Thankfully, paramedics quickly arrived on the scene… freed Maddie from her restraints… and transported her to a local hospital.

Relatives soon asked the public for prayers, as Maddie was placed in critical condition and fought for her life.

Just a few days after the frightening incident, Maddie went home and Jamie Lynn was finally able to exhale.

“Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover,” wrote Watson at the time, adding:

“Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone.”

Yesterday, meanwhile, marked one month since Maddie’s scary accident …

… and Jamie Lynn celebrated the occasion by sharing two new photos of her daughter (above and below), along with a very sweet message.

“A month ago, at this time, I was living a mothers/anyones worst nightmare happening right infront of my eyes, helplessly.,” wrote Spears as a caption to the picture above.

It features Maddie holding her little cousin aloft.

“Fastforward- Today, we were able to celebrate the baptism of our sweet Kylie Blair,” continued Spears, adding:

“I’m not one to preach, but we were shown God’s grace, and we still feel undeserving of His mercy. I’ll never stop thanking each of you for your prayers, because we recognize the miracle it created.

“We are beyond blessed, and we will NEVER forget y’all, and God’s unbelievable mercy.”

Jamie Lynn had previously shared a video of her daughter at basketball practice, using the hashtag “Godisgood” in her description of the following footage:

She used that same hashtag for the second picture above, which was snapped on Ash Wednesday and which features herself, Maddie and her mother.

Last week, Spears revealed on social media that her daughter had “fully recovered” and “returned to her normal activities,” writing in full:

So blessed to say that my daughter has fully recovered, and returned to all her normal activities Which means I had to as well, today is my first day back to work. I want to thank everyone again for all their prayers…

God truly blessed us with a miracle.. love y’all.

We’re so very glad to hear it.

We truly can’t imagine what Jamie Lynn and her family went through during this ordeal.

So here’s to Jamie Lynn, Jamie, Maddie, Britney and everyone else!

May you continue to be blessed and may Maddie continue to shine!

Jamie Lynn Spears Shares Video of Daughter, Gushes Over God

Jamie Lynn Spears has a reason to be grateful this week.

A very cute, very precious, very special reason, we should say.

Just over two weeks ago, the former actress’ only child was involved in a scary accident.

Little Maddie Aldridge, at only 8 years old, was driving around her family’s property in a child’s ATV when she swerved to avoid a drainage ditch.

But the maneuver caused the vehicle to flip over, landing Maddie face-first in a pond.

Jamie Lynn and her husband, also named Jamie, rushed over to rescue their daughter, but were unable to free Maddie from her seatbelt.

Fortunately, paramedics arrived quickly on the scene… got Maddie loose… loaded her into an ambulance … and rushed her to a local hospital.

For the first couple of days, it was unclear whether the little girl would survive.

“The Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family,” said a spokesperson soon after news of the crash went public.

Thankfully, however, Maddie not only survived the ordeal; she recovered faster than anyone could have imagined.

Five days after the frightening crash, Jamie Lynn’s daughter was headed home.

And now, 19 days after the incident, she’s resuming nearly each of her activities, as evidenced by a new video Spears shared on Instagram:

“1st Basketball practice today #Godisgood,” Spears captioned the above footage of her child practicing passing drills with her team.

Pretty good form there, Maddie!

“When she woke up… everybody was crying because it was such a miracle,” a friend of Maddie’s father, Casey Aldridge, told People Magazine.

There really was a period there when Maddie’s loved ones feared the worst.

“The doctors did a lot of tests before she woke up, and it was encouraging, but still – no one knew for sure,” this friend said., adding:

“Everyone was really worried because they didn’t know how bad the brain injury was. They didn’t know if she was going to recognize them or if she’d ever be the same.”

So far, however, so good.

Maddie is not all the way back to her old self, but she got to hand out Valentines at school last week and she most definitely recognizes all her relatives.

God really is good, isn’t he?

We continue to send our very best wishes to Maddie, Jamie Lynn and everyone close to this family.

Jamie Lynn Spears" Daughter: Back at School!

Valentine’s Day took on a special meaning this year for Jaime Lynn Spears and her husband, Jaime Watson.

(Yes, Jaime Lynn Spears is married to a man named Jaime. And her father’s name is also Jaime. Just go with it, okay?)

Just over a week beforehand, after all, they were unsure whether the love of their life, eight-year old daughter Maddie, would even survive a horrific ATV accident.

But fast forward several days and Maddie is alive, well and back at school.

Sort of.

“Maddie isn’t quite ready to return to school, but her doctors did clear her to bring in her Valentine’s Day treats to her class today,” Jamie Lynn wrote as a caption to the above photo.

It features young Maddie, a smile across her face while holding up candies.

“It made her so happy to see her friends, and be able to give them such cute treats,” Jamie Lynn continued, adding:

“It was a great moment for us after everything that has happened. We are so thankful to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the ones we love, and we don’t take a second of it for granted.

“Happy Valentine’s Day.”

On the afternoon of February 3, Maddie lost control of her child’s off-road vehicle when she swerved to avoid a drainage ditch.

The car flipped over and landed face-down in a pond.

Jamie Lynn and her husband rushed to help their child, but were unable to release Maddie from her seatbelt.

Fortunately, paramedics arrived on the scene, freed the little girl and transported her to a nearby Louisiana hospital.

Things look bleak at first, however, with Jaime Lynn’s father and famous sister asking fans to keep Maddie in their prayers in the day or so after the accident.

“All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie,” Jaime Spears told Entertainment Tonight on February 4, while Britney later added via Instagram:

“Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece.”

Britney included this precious photo of Maddie along with her message:

On Tuesday, February 7, the Children’s Hospital in New Orleans said s in a statement that Maddie was awake and thankfully didn’t suffer “any neurological consequences from the accident.”

Three days later, she was on her way home.

Watson passed this great news along to social media followers by sharing a picture of his daughter in a helicopter (below) and included with it the following caption:

Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover.

Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone.

We are truly blessed.

Shortly after Maddie was safe and sound and on the road to recovery back at home, Britney updated her Instagram followers.

“So grateful that Maddie was able to go home today… it’s truly a miracle,” the singer wrote last Friday, adding:

“Our prayers were heard, and they were answered! Thank you so much for all of your love and support this week. My family appreciates it more than you will ever know.”

Jamie Lynn Spears: Her Daughter is Headed Home!

A week that started with awful news has concluded in the most positive manner possible for Jamie Lynn Spears.

The sister of Britney has confirmed to social media followers that her eight-year old daughter, Maddie Aldridge, has been released from the hospital.

And it looks like she was released in grand fashion.

The little girl, of course, was involved in a very scary accident last Sunday.

While driving around in a child’s ATV on her family’s property in Louisiana, Maddie swerved to avoid a drainage ditch.

As a result, the vehicle flipped over and landed face-down in a pond.

Jamie Lynn and husband Jamie Watson were watching their daughter at the time and raced over to rescue her. But they were unable to unfasten her seatbelt.

Within minutes, paramedics were on the scene.

They transported the unconscious little one to a nearby hospital, where Maddie was placed in serious condition and members of her family asked fans to pray.

Including Britney.

But that was then… and Jamie Lynn has so great news for everyone now:

Maddie was released from hospital on Friday morning, getting a fancy ride home on a helicopter, no less.

Watson shared the cute and inspiring photograph above today on Instagram.

It features Jamie Lynn standing outside the helicopter, while a smiling Maddie rides shotgun.

“Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover,” he wrote as a caption, adding:

“Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone.

“We are truly blessed.”

On Tuesday, a Spears family representative released a statement saying Maddie was “awake and talking.”

“Maddie continues to receive oxygen and is being monitored closely but it appears that she was not suffered any neurological consequences from the accident,” the statement read.

Aunt Britney Spears then said on Wednesday the little girl was “making progress,” adding:

“Thank you all for sending thoughts and prayers our way. Let’s all keep praying.”

We’re so glad that Maddie is back home, resting comfortably and on the mend.

It may be a little while until she’s her old self again, physically and mentally, but the situation looked pretty dire just a few days ago.

We’ll continue to monitor this situation and we’ll continue to send our thoughts and prayers in the direction of the Spears family.
