Mischa Barton on Hospital Visit: I Was Drugged!

Mischa Barton has confirmed that she voluntarily sought professional help after some frightening events at her West Hollywood apartment. 

We reported just yesterday that The O.C. alum was taken to hospital for a mental evaluation after some erratic behavior. 

Now, the star has released a statement to People, claiming that someone spiked her drink with GHB on her birthday,

“On the evening of the 25th, I went out with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. While having drinks, I realized that something was not right as my behavior was becoming erratic and continued to intensify over the next several hours,” Barton said in the statement. 

“I voluntarily went to get professional help, and I was informed by their staff that I had been given GHB. After an overnight stay, I am home and doing well,” the statement continued.

“I would like to extend a big thanks of gratitude to the professionals at Cedars-Sinai for their great care and professionalism. This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings.”

The behavior was certainly scary. Apparently, she was saying something about her mother being a witch and even went as far as falling backward off her fence and shouting. 

“Oh my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry!”

Considering other people who attended the party were saying the star seemed fine and was having a great time at first, it would make sense that the change in mood could stem from her drink being spiked. 

These things do happen a lot, but Mischa does have a point when she states that people need to keep an eye on their surroundings. 

The latest news of Mischa attending Cedars-Sinai Medical Center certainly made it seem like the star was suffering from another breakdown. 

In 2009, the star was rushed to the medical center and kept in for four days after being placed under California’s 5150 hold. 

Thankfully, it seems like the star is much better after being released from hospital.

1. Mischa Barton

The former OC star sadly ends up on this list twice. She claimed she was suicidal and was placed in 5150 psychiatric hold against her will back in 2009. She then exhibited off behavior in the backyard of her West Hollywood apartment and agreed with police in 2017 that she needed to seek help from a doctor.

2. Kanye West

His ranting went from funny to frightening in late 2016 when he allegedly attacked an employee at the gym and then willingly spent nine days in a hospital, receiving assistance.

3. Britney Spears

The most famous of them all, right? After so many years in the spotlight at a young age, Britney snapped in 2009, culiminating in the shaving of her own head. She was also placed in a 5150 hold.

4. Marilyn Monroe

During the 1960 filming of The Misfits, which would become her last completed movie, Monroe was admitted to the Westside Hospital in Los Angeles for a nervous breakdown. She later died of a drug overdose.

5. Demi Lovato

Lovato checked herself into a treatment facility in the fall of 2010, later telling Seventeen magazine that she had a nervous breakdown and realized she needed help after her manager and parents pulled her aside for an intervention. She has been very open since about her eating disorder and former drug use.

6. Mariah Carey

Following the bombing of her film Glitter at the box office, Carey was taken to a hospital July of 2001 in Westchester County, New York and then moved to another hospital in Connecticut. She was released in late August.

Mischa Barton Transported to Hospital for Mental Evalution: Find Out Why

Mischa Barton is currently under a doctor’s care and supervision.

According to multiple outlets, police responded on Thursday morning to calls of a disturbance coming from the actress’ West Hollywood apartment.

Insiders tell TMZ that witnesses on the scene spotted the former OC star hanging over her backyard fence and rambling about her mother being a witch.

She was also screaming about the world ending and said something Ziggy Stardust.

At one point, sources say she fell backward off the fence and yelled: “Oh my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry!”

TMZ writes that Barton was wearing just a dress shirt and a tie during this bizarre incident, although People Magazine quotes a sergeant who confirms Barton was “fully dressed” by the time she agreed she needed professional help.

This same police officer says Barton was speaking in “coherent statements” upon willingly being transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

On Wednesday night, Barton celebrated her birthday in Los Angeles with friends.

According to a party attendee, via People, the actress “seemed like she was having a great time” and there was no cause for anyone to be concerned at the time.

This is not the first time Barton has exhibited strange behavior and been placed under a doctor’s care as a result.

In July of 2009, a frightened and manic Barton was also rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Unable to control herself and desperate to leave, she threatened suicide and had to be restrained by staff members. 

Barton was eventually placed committed to the psych ward for four days under California’s 5150 hold, which means a patient is admitted against his or her will because he or she poses a threat to his or herself self or others.

“It was a full-on breakdown,” Barton told People of that former incident, speaking in 2013 and adding:

“It was terrifying. Straight out of Girl, Interrupted. Story of my life.”

Barton also explained to People in this 2013 interview that she had just had her wisdom teeth removed and was taking Xanax.

Yes, she was suffering from a great deal of stress and anxiety at the time – partying, drinking, her career flaming out – but “I was never suicidal,” she told the publication for a cover story.

Barton explained:

“I was just overworked and depressed. But one slip of the tongue in a heightened moment and you find yourself in that situation.”

Her time in the psych ward “was an eye-opener,” however.

“I was deeply hurt at first, and then I accepted this was time I needed to be away from work, my family and all the pressure. I had been through the wringer.”

Since then, Barton has remained mostly out of the news.

She did gain a poor reputation on Dancing with the Stars, however, and also came under fire for the way she responded to the shooting of Alton Sterling by the police last year.

The actress has always come across as out of touch, sort of operating in her own universe.

Both TMZ and People reached out to members of Barton’s team for a comment after news of this latest incident spread.

They are yet to hear back.

Mischa Barton: Topless In Greece!

This is like something out of a Calvin Klein ad.

Mischa Barton posted a photo of herself in Mykonos, in which she wore nothing more than a pair of jeans while smoking a cigarette (so European).

“Island vibes 🇬🇷 #Mykonos #Censored,” she wrote.

It has to be said that Barton looks fantastic.  Even though she spent about 4 minutes on Dancing With The Stars, Barton may have actually returned to glory as the Marissa Cooper we once envied.

Of course, it’s not all toplessness and cigarettes.  Last week, Barton posted a controversial message on her account after the shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, and Philando Castile in Minnesota.

“I’m truly heart broken to watch videos like the #altonsterling execution,” Barton wrote in the now-deleted post.  “This may have been going on forever in the United States but thank god the pigs get caught on camera now. 

“Its unthinkable and an embarrassment to America. The country I was brought up in. Somebody make change.

“We need gun control and unity. And a real President so think about that when this election is around the corner.

“The world is a precarious place right now.#stop #reflect and #act appropriately.

Barton apologized for her aggressive message soon after.

“I’m human, I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry if my Instagram post went out of context,” she wrote on June 8th.

“I didn’t mean to offend anyone.”

According to the Daily Mail, Barton is battling it out with her mother, Nuala in court over the sale of their $ 7 million Beverly Hills mansion, which they co-own.

Mother and daughter have endured a rock relationship over the years.  Barton accused her of stealing, and once referred to her as “a greedy stage mother posing as a talent manager.”

Mischa Barton Apologizes for Wildly Inappropriate Instagram Post

Mischa Barton is not perfect, people.

Anyone who watched her performance as Marissa Cooper on The OC is well aware of this fact.

But the actress (former actress?) has taken to Instagram in order to drive this point home in the form of an apology.

Barton came under major fire this week when she addressed the sad situation of Alton Sterling being shot dead by police in Louisiana.

The tragic incident took place on Tuesday.

Based on the video (below), it certainly appears as if Sterling had already been detained by officers and placed on the ground at the time these cops opened fire, ending his life on the spot.

So, what was the problem with Barton’s post?

She included the following photo along with it:

Somehow, it did not occur to Barton that an image of her relaxing in a bikini on board a yacht might not be the most appropriate setting in which one ought to touch on the topic of racial injustice.

After deleting the photo, yet still receiving a great deal of backlash, Barton shared the following Mea Culpa on her Instagram account today:

“I’m human, I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry if my Instagram post went out of context. I didn’t mean to offend anyone.”

We can’t say we’re big fans of the I’m not perfect defense, but whatever. It’s better than no apology at all, right?

Mischa Barton is the latest celebrity to express shock and sadness at the murder of Alton Sterling. 

Alton was gunned down on Wednesday July 6, 2016 by police after they claimed that he had a gun. 

Mischa Barton’s take on the whole thing was pretty heartfelt, but also pretty bizarre.

The thing that made this bizarre was the fact that the 30-year-old accompanied the statement with her posing on a yacht. 

Yes, on a yacht. 

She looks very sad in the picture and has a glass of wine. 

It’s pretty crazy and takes a lot away from her thoughts on the murder. 

Was the former The OC star trying to capitalize on Sterling’s murder to show off how great she looks?

If so, then that’s pretty messed up. 

Fans were quick to point out that Barton had gone too far with the Instagram post and she swiftly deleted it. 

Nothing is ever really deleted on the internet and it’s now doing the rounds all over social media.

Mischa Barton & Artem Chigvintsev: DATING After Dancing With the Stars??

When two people spend several hours a day, seven days a week in each others’ arms, they’re bound to get close.

And it sounds as though this is exactly what happened with a couple of Dancing With the Stars partners this season.

Even though Mischa Barton may have two left feet, The O.C. alum managed to impress her DWTS partner, Artem Chigvintsev.

The pair were voted off the show after week two, but they are now romantically involved, a source told Entertainment Tonight.

They were spotted on their first date together Wednesday evening at The Little Door, a French restaurant in Los Angeles.

“They’ve been in touch after the show and care about each other but this is the first proper date,” a source told ET.

While they kept it friendly on the show, the couple are now “transitioning into more than friends.”

“He is the reason she’s looking happier recently,” the source added.

“She has become giddy when talking about him and quite smitten with him.”

After dinner, the couple made their way to the famed Chateau Marmont in Hollywood, where Barton introduced her new beau to some friends.

“He’s pursued her for a while, and she’s coming around,” the source revealed.

Gotta love the chase.

Barton must’ve saved all her charm for the hunky dancer, because everyone else on the show reportedly hated working with her.

“Some people are claiming that Mischa is the most self-entitled and rude celebrity that the employees of the show have ever had to work with!” according to a source.

If you thought it was just nerves making her stiff, you are sorely mistaken.

Rumor has it that Mischa Barton is the most unpleasant participant to ever appear on Dancing With The Stars, and that is saying something.

Barton “is just not coming off as a nice person,” sources from the LA-based set tell Radar Online.

“It is really quite unfortunate because when she first came on the show, members of the cast and crew said they were hoping that she was going to be the person that they used to love watching on TV.

“They were actually really excited to meet her.”

On Monday, Barton faced elimination alongside Doug Flutie and Geraldo Rivera. 

When Rivera was voted off the show, “everyone hugged him, except for Mischa,” a source pointed out.

“Misha had practically no response at all to Geraldo getting kicked off.”

DWTS is a team-driven show where contestants and professionals spend hours together, bonds are formed.  So when people noticed that Barton didn’t join everyone to see Rivera off, “all that did was add to the feeling on set that Misha does not want to be there, and she just wants to take the money and run,” the source said.

“Some people are claiming that Mischa is the most self-entitled and rude celebrity that the employees of the show have ever had to work with! She does not discriminate who she is rude to either.”

This wouldn’t surprise me in the least, as I’ve watched Barton’s expressions and body language since the March 21st premiere, and she looks like she’d rather be anywhere else.

Mischa Barton on Dancing with the Stars: She Sucks!

Mischa Barton was somehow not voted out on Dancing with the Stars this week.

But that doesn’t mean the former OC star is a favorite to take home the mirror ball trophy in a couple months.

Far from it, in fact.

The actress was left in tears after receiving just 15 of a possible 30 points on Monday night, with an insider telling People that Barton probably should have just turned down this season’s invite.

“She’s trying really hard, but she’s completely out of her element,” the source says of Barton.

Prior to Dancing with the Stars, this insider says Barton “didn’t really have any sort of deep desire to learn to dance, and she hadn’t really watched the show before she was cast.”

So the odds were stacked against the Z-Lister from the outset.

Another source, meanwhile, channeled Donald Trump and compared Barton to Jeb “Low Energy” Bush. Sort of.

“Mischa has never really been high-energy,” says this insider.

“She’s introverted and quiet. She’s very much like her O.C. character. She could be having the best time, but her demeanor doesn’t really change.”

Her OC character died in a fiery car crash, so let’s hope there are some dissimilarities.

For her part, Barton knows she isn’t a professional. But she does hope to improve.

“I know I’m never going to be a professional ballroom dancer,” she blogged for People. “So for me, this experience is about having as much fun as possible.”

Mischa Barton is Alive, Will Go Dancing with the Stars

An insider has confirmed to Us Weekly that not only is actress Mischa Barton still alive… but she will return to public consciousness on the new season of this ABC competition.

The 30-year old actress will forever be remember as Marissa Cooper, a key character on The OC until she was killed off on Season 3 in one of TV’s most memorable deaths.

As a child star, Barton appeared in such hit movies as Notting Hill and Sixth Sense.

She hasn’t really been heard from in about a decade.

The complete list of upcoming Dancing with the Stars participants will be announced on Good Morning American on Tuesday, March 8.

For now, we know that Barton joins the following confirmed cast members:

Mischa Barton -- Repo Man Coming For Her Audi Q3

Mischa Barton better put her brand new Audi Q3 in high gear if she doesn’t want the repo man to take it back … because she hasn’t paid a dime on her lease in 4 months.

Mischa signed the car lease at the end of March. She put down $ 2,300 and agreed to $ 696.29 a month for 3 years … but she’s only made one payment. 

According to legal docs, the leasing company got impatient and demanded she return the Audi, but she didn’t. So now the leasing company is turning up the heat, demanding full payment — $ 40k.

Barton’s financial problems are well-documented  … she sued her mom Nuala back in April, claiming the momager pocketed a big chunk of her earnings and even forced her out of her own house.
