Mickey Mouse Helps Foster Kids Learn News of a Lifetime
They say that Disney World is the happiest place on Earth.
Janielle Gilmour and Elijah Gilmour, two kids from Portland, Pennsylvania, are now living proof of this description.
The 12-year old and 10-year old have been residing with foster parents Courtney and Tom for the past three years.
Unbeknownst to the children, the couple finalized its adoption paperwork when the family visited Florida in May.
When the Gilmours checked into the Magic Kingdom park in Orlando, each family member was given a button to write down his or her reasons for celebrating.
"We didn"t have the adoption date until the Friday before our vacation, but once we got it I thought, "How cool would it be to give a sign to Mickey?"" Courtney explained to E! News.
"When we got down there we sent out pictures on Twitter of our buttons. Ours said, "Adopting Our Kids." Theirs said, "Getting Adopted."
"The people from Disney World"s Twitter reached out to us and asked, "How can we help make this extra special?""
Courtney those the amusement park would provide free dessert or something along those lines.
"We went to dinner, and by the time we got back they e-mailed me again to set up a private meet and greet with Mickey," said Courtney, who filmed the following scene inside the Town Street Theater and shared the footage with friends via Facebook July 6.
It has since been viewed nearly 2 million times.
In the footage below, we see Mickey sign the children’s autograph book and then perform a card trick.
Typical stuff, really.
But then the beloved character held up a sign with the adoption date on it.
And… well…
"This went better than we had hoped," Courtney wrote as a caption at the time she posted it. "They were beyond shocked and we were beyond emotional."

Courtney Stodden Stars As Sexy Dying Mouse For Obscure PETA Protest
I am all for animal rights, but when it gets to a point where I don"t understand what exactly we"re fighting for, then it"s time to go back to the drawing board.
This is more or less what happened on April 14th in Los Angeles, where Courtney Stodden dressed up as a "dying" sexy mouse, complete with a wig, a white leotard with a tail, and thigh high stockings.
Oh, and white stripper heels.
Stodden posed for a few photos before taking her place in front of a PetSmart, where she lay splattered in blood as protestors surrounded her with signs reading "Animals Frozen Alive at PetSmart Suppliers."
Stodden took to her own Instagram to publicize the cause.
"Hopefully this protest against #petsmart will get them to "SMARTen" up," the Mother/Daughter experiment star wrote.
"The suppliers that they get their animals from abuse, neglect & torture these innocent lives… yet Petsmart continues to ignore the cruel truth. It"s time for a change. Don"t buy while animals die! @peta #animalrights."
PETA sent out their own press release to explain the protest.
"Courtney Stodden is dying for PetSmart to stop selling animals. So she dressed as a sweet mouse, went to a PetSmart store in Los Angeles, and "died" on the sidewalk," the statement read.
The reality star "wanted to get involved after a 15-week PETA investigation revealed that a PetSmart supplier was gassing animals in plastic bags and setting them aside "to die and waste away," as one of the supplier’s supervisors put it.
"Another recent PETA exposé of a supplier revealed that small animals were warehoused in plastic bins and rodents were crammed into plastic bags and frozen alive."
The organization, which once threw flour on Kim Kardashian during a red carpet appearance, published a quote from Stodden.
“It’s heartbreaking to think that countless mice, rats, bunnies, and lizards are dying in filthy bins for PetSmart’s stores,” said Courtney. “My friends at PETA and I urge everyone to refuse to shop anywhere that sells live animals!”
If I want to learn how to prevent animal cruelty, I"ll turn to the ASPCA.
If I want to be entertained and forget exactly what I"m fighting for, I"ll watch a PETA campaign.

Kanye West SLAMS Deadmau5: You Do Birthdays, Minnie Mouse?
Here’s some news that’s sure to shock you to your very core: Kanye West has picked a fight with another artist, and he’s being kind of a douche about it.
No, he’s not attacking Wiz Khalifa on Twitter again.
As far as we know he not planning on spewing misogynistic nonsense at Taylor Swift in any future songs (though we certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he did).
This time, Kanye is directing his rage and very uneven sense of humor at a lesser-known artist, the acclaimed EDM DJ and producer Deadmau5.
It all started yesterday, when Kanye posted a screenshot of a laptop with tabs open for Pirate Bay – a site generally used for illegally downloading music.
It was later revealed that the computer was not Kanye’s, but several other artists had already criticized him for his hypocrisy, Deadmau5 among them.
Kanye being Kanye, he didn’t take it lightly.
“You raised Tidal’s subscriptions by a whopping [3] downloads,” he tweeted at Deadmau5 moments ago.
“When you get married will your wife have a giant minnie mouse head? This brightened up my day…thank you dead-mow-five.”
From there, Kanye contnued to go in on Deadmau5’s stage name and persona, and as much as we’re loath to admit it, some of it was pretty funny:
- “Do you do birthday parties?? My daughter loves Minnie mouse.”
- “Can you please bring the minnie mouse head … not yours she specifically likes minnie mouse.”
- “I need you to perform at her party with specifically a minnie mouse dead-mow-five head… not a mickey mouse dead-mow-five head.”
- “I’m very detailed oriented and I will know the difference so don’t try to just throw a bow on the original head”
- “I want to stream you performing in a Minnie Mouse head on @Tidal”
Deadmau5 has yet to reply, but based on his tweet from two hours ago, he’s overseas and currently sleeping.
We imagine waking up to find out that you’re Kanye’s latest victim is a great way to start your day.

Tate Lynch Dies; Former Mickey Mouse Club Star was 34
Marque “Tate” Lynch – a former cast member on All New Mickey Mouse Club and a contestant on American Idol Season 3 – was found dead on Sunday, according to various reports.
He was 34 years old.
The Wrap reports that Lynche’s roommate found the ex-actor inside their New York City apartment; he was pronounced dead around 4 p.m.
No cause of death has been determined as of this writing, while an investigation by police is underway.
The New York Daily News, meanwhile, has labeled Lynch’s death as “suspicious,” though no further details have been provided.
“There was no note, no pills,” a police source tells the newspaper. “We’re waiting on the medical examiner.”
Lynch enjoyed a two-year stint as a Mousketeer from 1993 to 1995. He appeared on the program opposite Britney Spears, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
About a decade later, he tried out in front of Simon Cowell and company on American Idol.
He later left the music industry after his mother died, although he reportedly planned to release an album and refocus on his passion for it after he recovered from that personal loss.
