Kate Middleton: Second Tiara In 2 Months! Life is Amazing!

Such fancy.

Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were driven to Her Majesty’s white-tie diplomatic reception, held at Buckingham Palace.  The occasion, like a state banquet, requires ladies to wear tiaras.

This is excellent news for Catherine’s fans, who rarely see her wearing one.

Her Royal Highness chose to wear the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, frequently worn by her late mother-in-law, the Princess of Wales.

The tiara was originally made for Queen Mary in 1914 by Garrard, the same jeweler that created Diana’s blue sapphire engagement ring (now worn by Catherine).

The piece was left to Queen Elizabeth, who loaned the it to Diana for several occasions.

This was Catherine’s second diplomatic reception; in 2013 she wore the same ice blue Alexander McQueen dress with the Queen Mother’s Lotus tiara.  This October, she chose the tiara again for the China state banquet.

Today, William and Catherine took part in ICAP’s charity day, where they hopped on the phone and brokered donations from clients.

A portion of the donations earned today go to William and Catherine’s charities, SkillForce, Sportsaid and Place2Be,

For the occasion, Catherine recycled her peplum L.K. Bennett outfit from 2012, when she accompanied the Queen and Prince Philip on a Diamond Jubilee visit to Leicester, England.

Her jewelry comes from Mappin & Webb’s “Empress” collection.

The hair’s a bit shorter too.

Florida Burglar Hides in Gator Lake, Gets Eaten By Gator

File this one under “pure, uncut Florida.”

A Florida man was doing Florida things (committing crimes), when he ran afoul of Florida cops and made the ill-fated decision to hide in a Florida lake known for its dense population of alligators.

Gator

Yes, you know where this is going, but we assure you, the rest of the story is worth your time.

22-year-old Matthew Riggins and a friend were burglarizing homes in the Barefoot Bay community of Southeast Florida when cops arrived on the scene and began to search the area.

Riggins – a Florida man if ever there was one – decided to try and evade authorities by hiding in a nearby lake.

Unfortunately, what he saw as an opportunity for escape, an 11-foot gator saw as lunchtime.

Riggins’ girlfriend reported him missing, and after a 10-day, they found his less tasty parts scattered around the lake. His hand and foot were found inside the gator.

Officials determined that Riggins was pulled below the surface and drowned, while the gator reportedly suffered severe indigestion.

A resident who was interviewed by a local news station summed the situation up perfectly when she said, “He hid in the wrong place.”

We can only hope that’ll be the inscription on Riggins’ tombstone.

Sadly, if Riggins had only tried attack the cops with their own badges or attempt to tickle his way out of the situation like Florida men before him, this story may not have had such a grisly ending.

As it is, Riggins can rest easy knowing he’s earned a place in the Florida Man Hall of Fame:

Kelly Clarkson Channels Game of Thrones for Epic Christmas Card

Kelly Clarkson is very clearly the opposite of a Grinch.

In 2013, the first-ever American Idol champion cracked us up with a Christmas card that featured her family giving a very weird look to a certain special guest.

But the singer has outdone herself this year.

Clarkson shared this year’s Christmas card on Instagram last night, giving fans a look at herself, husband Brandon Blackstock, the artist’s two stepchildren and her daughter River, all dressed up in Game of Thrones-like garb.

They’re also standing in front of a giant castle and Blackstock is wearing a kilt.

“Merry Christmas from the Blackstocks,” the card reads, as a wolf symbol with the words “Winter Is Coming Blackstock” is featured in the top right corner.

A second baby, of course, is also coming, with Clarkson making this emotional reveal during a tour stop in August.

“Merry Christmas from the Blackstock clan! @GameOfThrones #gameofthrones #winteriscoming #riverisnotworried,” Clarkson Tweeted along with this festive photo.

Because Clarkson will be welcoming a child some time in early 2016, we may not hear much from the singer in the months ahead.

But with American Idol set to kick off its final season in January, it seems very hard to believe that Clarkson won’t make an appearance at some point on the show that helped make her famous.

As for the show she is honoring here, Game of Thrones Season 6 premieres in April.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Recap: Kyle Loves Muu-Muus and Drama

Don’t ask us how you get uninvited, then re-invited to your niece’s wedding (with your husband and two of her children still uninvited), but that’s Kyle Richards for you.

Meanwhile, Yolanda Foster’s health crises stunned Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6 Episode 2.

First she seeks out Vanderpump’s sympathy (and orders her not to bring a dress for Nicky Hilton’s wedding), then she tells Lisa at the Tuscan dinner table that she is going to attend the London nuptials sans Mauricio and two kids.

What the everlasting f—.

That Hilton/Richards crew is a hot mess, and I like Mauricio enough to assume that he’s like, “I’m good.  I’ll take the kids on a tour of Westminster Abbey.”

It’s her kid that finally has to put a lid on the entire topic.

If the bugs and the limited A/C weren’t a problem, the Tuscan villa everyone shared would have been lovely.

Oh, might we talk about Ken Todd for a mo.  Is he Mr. Grumples or what?

When Lisa selected a strapless black Badgley Mischka gown for Kyle to borrow (for her niece’s wedding that she may or may not attend), Ken suggested Lisa just pack her friend a muu-muu, since that’s all she ever wears.

Listen, Ken.  Most of them are caftans and they are delightful.  Maybe you should stop wearing pastel button-downs and fancy jeans.

Yolanda’s condition breaks my heart.  You can tell she’s in so much pain and doesn’t feel like getting up every day.

Rinna and Eileen stopped by Yolanda’s condo to check up on her;  Eileen was especially affected by all she saw at the condo because she had just lost her sister to breast cancer. So, the whole thing was a glass case of emotion.

Next week we get to meet new cast member, Erika, who likes to wear spandex body stockings that barely cover her virtue. Fun!

And that’s all she wrote for this week, THGers. Follow the link to watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills online at TV Fanatic, and discuss!
