Lisa Vanderpump: If I Were Leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, I"d Say It!

It’s finally happening — for better or for worse.

Reports surfaced earlier this week that Lisa Vanderpump is leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Now, Lisa herself is speaking out and looking to set the record straight.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Lisa Vanderpump mostly denies the report that she’s leaving the franchise.

“I am in the season, obviously,” Lisa says.

That, at least, we already knew — because there was a controversy over her refusing to film certain scenes with her castmates.

“There are some parts I missed,” Lisa admits. “And you’ll see why.”

We already heard that Lisa ghosted the other Housewives because they were bullying her in some form or another.

“And,” Lisa says. “I think maybe we’ll have a better understanding when you watch the show.”

“There’s a plethora of stories that say I’m quitting,” Lisa acknowledges.

She says that there are also many stories “that say I’m trying to get Jax [Taylor] off [Vanderpump Rules].”

“If I had quit,” she promises. “I would have said it.”

She expresses frustration that people think that she would sit on the story if it were true.

“Can we just trust that I would … I’ve never had a problem with kind of coming forward speaking my mind,” Lisa says.

That said … she isn’t promising that she’s going to come back to the show, either.

Reports make it very clear that Lisa Vanderpump would never be fired.

But Lisa says that she can’t make any assurances about her future with the franchise.

“It’s like saying am I going to a Christmas party next year,” Lisa says. “You know, you don’t know, do you?”

“You don’t know if you’re going to be invited back,” she explains.

Lisa even mentions the possibility of cancelation: “You don’t know if they’re going to do the show.”

“So that’s a little hypothetical, really,” Lisa characterizes.

She really seems determined to dance around this topic.

Lisa has very clearly not been getting along with her co-stars on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

She’s been refusing to film with them, and even missed Camille’s wedding.

Despite their heated arguments in Season 9, Kyle Richards told Us Weekly earlier this month that she loves Lisa.

Lisa has now responded to that claim, saying that words are not enough.

“Don’t tell me,” Lisa says. “Show me!”

That’s great advice for storytelling and for friendship, folks.

“I have talked to Camille, yes, absolutely,” Lisa affirms.

“She was actually asking me about her little dog because he wasn’t feeling so well,” she explains.

Lisa Vanderpump is a dog-lover. Like, almost everyone is, but Lisa even more than most.

Camilla, of course, was one of many people to lose her home in the wildfires that are spreading through Southern California.

“I think it’s, you know, it’s a huge loss,” Lisa says. “It’s just not, it’s just not a house, it’s the memories, but you know, it is very difficult for her.”

“But then again, she just got married so maybe it’s a new life, a new beginning,” Lisa says, trying to paint a silver lining.

“She seemed upbeat,” Lisa says of Camille. “But I know it’s a very sad, very sad situation to lose so much.”

Earlier this year, Lisa lost her brother.

But she says that she is very much in touch with his children.

“They live in England, but you know, I’m close with them,” she shares.

“Obviously I think we hold onto each other,” Lisa concludes. “It’s been very difficult.”

So … she’s at least mostly denying that she’s leaving the show, but it feels like she’s playing word games and dancing around her answers.

What isn’t Lisa telling us?

Mischa Barton is Headed to The Hills!

Mischa Barton is about to go full circle.

In a manner of speaking.

The actress, of course, is best known for having starred as Marissa Cooper on the Fox sensation The OC back in 2003.

The success of The OC inspired MTV to create Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County… which eventually spun off into The Hills… which is about to be revived by the cable network

… and which we’ve now learned will co-star Barton!

Set to premiere some time in 2019, The Hills: New Beginnings will reunite original cast members, alongside their kids, friends and a few new faces, chronicling follow their personal and professional lives while they reside in Los Angeles.

Barton will be making her reality television debut as a series regular on the highly-anticipated reboot.

She’ll be joining Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Jason Wahler, Stephanie Pratt, Justin Bobby and Frankie Delgado on the program.

Sadly, neither Lauren Conrad nor Kristin Cavallari will be coming back to the show that made them famous.

(“She’s in a different place in her life,” a source has said of Conrad, adding: “But she wants everyone to enjoy themselves. She wishes everyone the best.”)

Barton, meanwhile, ought to bring plenty of drama to New Beginnings.

She hasn’t really had a starring role of any kind since she was killed off The OC — yet she has found herself in a few difficult/trying/headline-making situation.

In January of 2017, for example, Barton was hospitalized for a mental evaluation after she neighbors witnessed her hanging over her backyard fence and rambling incoherently.

She said something at one point about her mother being a witch and something else at another point about the world coming to an end.

“Oh my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry!” she yelled while falling off said fence, according to witnesses.

Barton later issued a statement in which she thanked the professionals who came to her aid, and in which she said she had been drugged just prior to the incident.

“I would like to extend a big thanks of gratitude to the professionals at Cedars-Sinai for their great care of professionalism,” she said at the time, concluding:

“This is a lesson to all young women out there. Be aware of your surroundings.”

Just two months after this controversy engulfed Barton, she got swept up in a revenge porn scandal.

The actress went on record about an ex-boyfriend secretly filming the pair having sex and then blackmailing Barton with the release of their video.

A few weeks later, Barton appeared as a guest across from Dr. Phil and tried to clear up all the misperceptions of her out there.

“One of the biggest misconceptions is that I’m a spoiled rich girl,” she said.

“People find it convenient, they attach you to one particular thing. So I suppose that. And yeah, the fact that people think I’m crazy. That’s another good one.”

We’ll get to find out first-hand when The Hills hits the air again next year.

Audrina Patridge Accused by Ex of Exploiting Daughter for The Hills!

The Hills are alive — or they’re going to be, because The Hills: New Beginnings is a real thing that is happening.

Audrina Patridge has confirmed that she will be part of the revival of the groundbreaking reality series. But her ex Corey Bohan is making demands.

He has now taken to social media to insist that their daughter have no part in the show.

Audrina and Corey split up just about one year ago, and there were upsetting reports that Corey Bohan was emotionally and even physically abusive with her, prompting her filing a restraining order.

Corey was also accused of being unable to control his behavior, including outbursts and obscenities, in the presence of their very young daughter.

But now that The Hills is making its comeback, Corey has decided that the real menace to his family is … reality television.

Corey’s Instagram is now set to private, but the good folks over at The Ashley got their hands on a message that he shared with his followers.

In his Instagram post, Corey blasts reality television as exploitative, and seems to think that merely being on camera would harm his daughter.

corey bohan instagram post slamming the hills

In white letters on a black background, Corey says that if he gets his way, his daughter will never be part of The Hills: New Beginnings.

“I refuse to think it’s ok for our 2yr old daughter Kirra Bohan to be shown & exploited on reality TV,” Corey writes.

For the record, the show has not yet begun filming, and it’s unclear whose children, if any, will appear on screen.

“Not just my child,” Corey continues. “But anyone’s for that matter.”

Most assume that Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s baby will get some airtime. It looks like he’s eager to throw shade in multiple directions.

Corey’s post continues.

“I stand up for what I believe in,” Corey insists.

Though he appears to be questioning the parenting judgment of a whole lot of people, he claims that he’s not taking a shot at anyone.

Corey writes: “This post isn’t an attack or negative rant.”

“This,” Corey proclaims. “Is about our daughter Kirra Bohan.”

Contrary to what the BMX rider might fear, Audrina isn’t strutting Kirra out in front of anybody’s cameras just yet.

“They haven’t even started filming the show yet,” a source tells People.

Additionally, the insider shares that “Audrina hasn’t made any final decisions about whether Kirra will appear.”

As far as things with her ex go, Audrina “just wants things to be okay.”

That is a very understandable feeling. But we’re not sure if she’s going to get her wish.

We don’t mean to sound like we’re accusing Corey Bohan of planning ahead, but it sounds like he may be laying the groundwork for his next custody battle.

See, because of Corey’s alleged behavior towards her and around their daughter, some of which was in public, Audrina has sole custody.

Corey clearly does not like that, and he may plan to use “reality television harms children” or “she’s using our baby for cash” as an argument in court.

That is just a guess, however. We of course cannot speak with certainty of Corey’s motivations or intentions.

It may be that he just wanted to lash out online.

The Hills Reboot: Will Anyone Actually Watch This Thing?

MTV’s reboot of The Hills sure made a lot of headlines at last week’s VMAs, but whether the buzz ends there remains to be seen.

In other words, will it lead to any actual viewers?

Here, The Hollywood Gossip staff debates whether or not this latest, shameless effort to reboot and recaputre nostalgia will be a hit.

IN ONE WORD, YES by Hilton Hater

Yes, The Hills revival will be a hit.

And I need just two words to explain why: Heidi and Spencer. Better yet, I need just one nickname to explain why: Speidi.

Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag entered the celebrity mainstream over a decade ago, initially appearing on The Hills as your basic wanna be A-Listers who would do anything for attention.

But that’s the thing: They would do ANYthing for attention, whether that meant trying to make it as a singer (Heidi) or stirring up every type of scandal or controversy imaginable (Spencer).

These two were Donald Trump before he became President Donald Trump: they had no shame.

They sky-rocketed to stardom just as social media was taking off, squeezing every millisecond out of their 15 Minutes of Fame and milking every comment on that platform for Likes or Dislikes.

They didn’t care and they still don’t care. Speidi was simply after attention.

That was back in 2007, however. There are millions of current MTV viewers who were too young at the time to watch or appreciate the couple’s antics.

So now that Twitter, Instagram and Facebook dominate absolutely everything at all times, we can’t fathom the heights that a rebooted Spencer and Heidi will be able to reach.

We can’t comprehend how popular (or, at least, how DISCUSSED) the duo will become in this second incarnation.

Oh, and here’s the final thing: They’re still together! They have a son! The couple that came across all those years ago as faker than Heidi’s boobs have somehow managed to find real, lasting love.

It’s sort of amazing. And it makes The Hills definitely worth watching.

NO, IT’S A BRIDGE TOO FAR by Tyler Johnson

Reboots are all the rage these days, and no one at MTV has had a fresh idea since the Clinton administration, so it should come as no surprise that the network is repackaging all its old hits.

But with The Hills, they may have gone too far.

After all, a second iteration of Jersey Shore makes sense – the original series was a cultural touchstone that made household names of its most colorful stars.

But The Hills?!

The closest thing that show ever had to a colorful star was Spencer Pratt, and that’s only because dude likes to wear tie-dye while fondling his collection of crystals.

If you’re lost in a fog of nostalgia, it might be easy to lose sight of the fact that The Hills overstayed its welcome well before it wrapped up its initial run.

The show’s best-loved star, Lauren Conrad, famously saw the writing on the wall and quit before the final season and split.

Not surprisingly, she won’t be back for the reboot.

Hell, one could argue that the concept behind The Hills was played out before the show even premiered. It was a spinoff of Laguna Beach, which was itself a lazy attempt to capitalize on the popularity of The O.C.

Despite all that the show became a hit, but that was likely due in part to the fact its target demo had far fewer entertainment options in those days.

So for the moment, The Hills are alive … but my guess is they won’t be for long.

THE HILLS HAVE A YES by Simon Delott

Reboots are so often reviled, fairly or unfairly.

But technically what we’re talking about here is a revival, where people can wax nostalgic about a show from yesteryear and see some of their returning favorites.

So … is The Hills: New Beginnings going to be a success? Maybe so. Heidi and Spencer, who are new parents, will be returning.

You know that people are going to want to check in on two of the world’s most famous hot messes in this new chapter of their lives.

Other familiar faces will be there, too, and we also should look at another revival from a similar era. Jersey Shore‘s comeback has been a hit.

It’s not dominating our culture the way it once did, but it’s making a splash in a big way, no doubt paving the way for this latest effort.

Some would say that bringing back The Hills without Lauren Conrad is like bringing back Jersey Shore without Snooki. And they’re not wrong.

But while people will surely miss Lauren, who is too busy being a mom to relive her reality television days, producing a reality series has fewer expenses than traditional television.

If there’s any entertainment value that these famously entertaining disasters can offer, this new series could run for a while.

GO HOME, 2007, YOU’RE DRUNK by Free Britney

Look, I don’t blame MTV for wanting to revive The Hills, nor can I blame the cast members for wanting to jump on board.

There’s very little risk, and what the hell else are they gonna do, come up with fresh ideas, or get real jobs, respectively?

With all due respect to the lovely Whitney Port (above) and company, obviously not. They don’t exactly have a lot going on.

Availability and opportunity doesn’t mean there’s enough nostalgia or new, capitvating material for this to stick, though.

The Hills dates back to when Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton were tabloid mainstays and reality TV was a novel concept.

In other words, it was a long ass time ago, and the show was more noteworthy in pioneering a genre than anything else.

A dramatized, quasi-scripted series about a real, likable person (Lauren) and her telegenic friends, frenemies and enemies (Speidi)?

That was something new and different.

Endlessly dramatic and fascinating, and just real enough to be relatable on some level, it became a pop culture staple.

Looking back, it’s no surprise that this became a hit, or that it spawned hundreds of shows following that same basic formula.

But therein lies the issue:

What made The Hills groundbreaking TV has essentially become ALL TV, and too many other shows (Jersey Shore included) do it better.

A lot of the time, Hills episodes were like watching paint dry. Its chief protagonist had enough and bailed. Even Speidi’s act got old.

No one has thought about The Hills or its stars in years. Years. After this initial buzz dies out, that will be the case once more.

The Hills Reboot: Who"s In? Who"s Out?

We suppose it was only a matter of time before TV moguls started taking a cue from their counterparts in the film world and began recycling old projects for new audiences.

It started with your favorite 3-camera 90s sitcoms, and now the reboot trend has expanded to reality TV.

And it should come as no surprise that MTV is leading the pack, as no one at that network has had a new idea since the Clinton years.

First, it was Jersey Shore, and now The Hills is coming back for a brand new season pointlessly subtitled New Beginnings.

And just like their East Coast equivalents, it seems not everyone from the SoCal squad is ready to step in front of a camera again.

Here"s what we know so far about the returning cast …

1. LC See Ya Later

Lc aka lauren conrad

The first question on the minds of most fans is whether or not Lauren Conrad will be returning to one of the two shows that made her famous. (Lauren was also a Laguna Beach OG.)

2. Dilemma

Lauren conrad curls

It’s hard to imagine The Hills without LC, but it’s also hard to imagine Lauren — the rare reality star who actually found post-show success — involving herself in the drama that made the show a success.

3. Bowing Out

Lc lauren conrad style

Those who know Lauren best say they’re not surprised the businesswoman and new mom has decided not to participate in the reboot.

4. Moving On

Lauren conrad cosmo picture

“She’s in a different place in her life,” a source tells People magazine. “But she wants everyone to enjoy themselves. She wishes everyone the best.

5. New Priorities

A lovely lauren conrad

“She loves being a mother and focusing on her family and on her work,” the source adds. “She has a very full and happy life.”

6. No Need For MTV

Lauren conrad and william tell are cute

The news doesn’t come as much of a shock. Lauren stepped away from The Hills in the show’s final season, and in the years since, she’s become one of those Jessica Simpson types who makes more money selling handbags and crap than she ever did on TV.
