Savannah Guthrie & Hoda Kotb: How is "Today" Doing Without Matt Lauer?
In the wake of a sex scandal that included some truly heinous allegations, Matt Lauer has lost his wife. He’s lost his job. He’s lost any respect or trust that the American public once placed in him.
And NBC’s Today, which he hosted for decades, lost him as its host.
Now hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, how are the ratings doing? You might be shocked.
Matt Lauer is said to be broken and ashamed following the horrible accusations from his time at NBC.
Sweet, sweet schadenfreude aside, a lot of people wonder if NBC — while doing the right thing — effectively shot itself in the foot by firing Matt Lauer.
Before the accusations of sexual harassment and rape came out, Matt Lauer enjoyed tremendous popularity.
Some considered him to be akin to “America’s dad,” finding his occasional slip-ups during interviews to be adorable rather than red flags.
With Lauer gone, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb are cohosts of Today.
While they’re definitely better choices than an alleged sexual predator and creep, how are the ratings going? Did viewers flee from the show when the scandal broke?
As it turns out, and you may be surprised by this, Today‘s ratings aren’t just good — they’re outstanding.
According to Nielsen results, Today ranks #1 among adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. Those are a couple of very coveted demographics.
Looking back to the same week last year, Today has improved its lead over Good Morning America by 16%.
This makes this Today‘s best streak in 5 years, in terms of raw numbers of viewers and in terms of key demographics.
Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie should be very proud of themselves.
Just after Thanksgiving in 2017, Matt Lauer was fired for alleged sexual misconduct.
At the time, NBC admitted that they had reason to believe that the incident that had been reported to them was part of a larger pattern.
And then the reports, which reporters had been quietly researching for weeks, began to surface.
Accusations included stories of dropping his pants or “gifting” sex toys to colleagues without invitation or consent.
One pants-dropping incident was allegedly followed by Matt Lauer lecturing the woman for not performing a sex act.
One sex toy-gifting incident allegedly included a creepy, detailed note describing the ways in which he wanted to use that toy on, again, a woman he worked with, who was literally just coming into work to do her dang job.
Matt Lauer was also accused of rape. According to the accusation, he used his creepy desk-based-door-locking-button to trap a woman in his office with him before bending her over and beginning the sexual assault.
He allegedly didn’t relent and unlock his door until she passed out.
Horrific.
As we alluded to earlier, Matt Lauer’s wife Annette Roque is officially divorcing him.
Since news of the scandal broke — and since she fled the country with her two younger sons — people have been waiting to see if she would divorce Matt Lauer and take everything.
For a while, though, it seemed that Matt and Annette were trying to play nice for the sake of their children. Given the weight of the accusations against Matt Lauer — accusations of so much more than just cheating — that attempt was doomed from the get-go.
We imagine that their divorce process will be complicated and may grow contentious — these things always do. Especially when it comes down to money, division of property, and custody decisions.
(In other words, everything that matters in a divorce)
The ratings news is fantastic.
It’s especially good because the Winter Olympics are just about to begin.
For years, people have associated the Olympics with Lauer because he covered the event every time.
From recent accusations, the world has now heard how he used these NBC trips as a sort of hunting ground to invite or lure young, ambitious NBC employees to his hotel room.
It will be hard for some people to not notice Matt Lauer’s absence. That can lead to some awkward discussions.
So it’s wonderful to hear that Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie are doing Lauer’s Today job better than he has in years.

Savannah Chrisley and Luke Kennard: It"s OVER ... Or Is It?
It’s been just over six weeks since we reported on news that reality star Savannah Chrisley and Luke Kennard of the NBA’s Detroit Pistons were dating.
Yes, we said “were” dating, because even though the young couple began gushing about one another on social media less than two months ago, their relationship can now only be discussed in the past tense.
Or at least that’s what several media outlets reported yesterday.
Bizarrely, Savannah’s dad, Todd Chrisley, is now denying the breakup rumors, and insisting that yesterday’s reports were nothing but “noise” and #FakeNews from the tabloid media.
We’d probably be a lot more likely to believe the denials if they came from Savannah or Luke, and not from Savannah’s famously image-conscious father.
But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
First, the story, as it was reported last night:
It all started while Savannah and Luke are on vacation with her family in the Cayman Islands.
They were posing for lots of pics, and then suddenly they stopped.
Interestingly, Savannah then went through her Instagram page and deleted every photo of Luke.
Now, we probably don’t need to explain to you that if a teenage girl deletes you from her Instagram page, she is fully done with your ass.
Even more tellingly, today is Savannah’s birthday, and she and Luke are spending it apart.
Throughout all this, however, Todd has steadfastly maintained that everything is just fine.
“So proud of these two and how they NEVER listen to the noise,” Todd wrote alongside the above IG photo of Savannah and Luke.
“I hope you guys are having an amazing time.”
And why would Todd lie about such a thing?
Because he’s a reality star, you see, and that’s the most ironic job title a person can have in 2017.
As far as we can tell, it consists of 90% lying about the details of your life and 10% lying about the quality of your show, so as to better promote it on Twitter.
Sean Spicer is unemployed now, so it’s a safe bet that he’ll be popping up on some TLC abomination entitled Some Like It Spicy any day now.
Anyway, the point here is that there’s still a very good chance that Savannah and Luke are broken up.
And even if they’re not, we have a hard time believing this was just all a big misunderstanding.
If they are still a couple, it probably means that they broke up and then quickly got back together.
And if that’s the case, there’s a very good chance they’ll break up and get back together many more times, because they’re 19 and 21, and everyone who’s even slightly younger than us is seconds away from a dumb decision at all times.
Now if you’ll excuse us, we have some kids to chase off our lawn.

Savannah Chrisley: Look! I"m Dating Luke Kennard!
Brand new Detroit Pistons wing Luke Kennard has shot and scored.
With a reality TV hottie, that is!
On Thursday night, USA Network star Savannah Chrisley shared a number of photos from her trip to Brooklyn, where she attended the 2017 NBA Draft as a guest of Kennard, confirming their romantic relationship in the process.
“Yep y’all…he’s my guy could not be more proud of him!!” wrote the Chrisley Knows Best actress as an Instagram caption to the above image, adding:
“Thank you for choosing me @lukekennard5 #nbabound #dukenation #myboyfriendishot.”
Kennard was selected 12th overall by the Pistons.
He’s coming off an impressive sophomore year at Duke University and will be relied upon to help Detroit bounce back after a difficult season in which they missed the playoffs and lost eight more games than they lost the year before.
If the Pistons lose Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to free agency, Kennard may even step in and start.
In another photo from her man’s big night, Chrisley posed with members of Luke’s family and wrote:
“And we’re off!! Today’s the day…to where it all changes!!! #nbadraft (Dress, Heels, and bag…all Gucci) @gucci.”
Savannah broke up with Blaire Hanks after many years of dating in January, admitting at the time that it wasn’t easy.
“It hurts,” Chrisley wrote on social media. “It does because for me he was that definition of just my first true love and I’m trying to stay strong y’all.”
Those who watch Chrisley Knows Best online or on television since it premiered on USA have seen the couple grow close and then grow slightly apart over the last few months the show as on the air.
Chrisley, meanwhile, also made headlines this year after getting involved in a very serious car accident.
But she appears to have recovered nicely.
Back in February, Savannah was rumored to be dating Memphis Grizzlies player Chandler Parsons, but told Entertainment Tonight at the time that they were just friends.
“We hang out. He’s a blast. He has the best personality,” she said, adding:
“I mean, heck — he makes [my dad] laugh, he makes me laugh. He truly is just a great friend. I’m single, having fun.”
Only half of that latter statement now rings true.
Aside from his attractive appearance, it also looks like Kennard has learned a thing or two from his blonde girlfriend.
She promoted Gucci in the caption quoted above, while Kennard posed on a red carpet shortly after being drafted and immediately gave props to watch company Tissot.

Megyn Kelly: Is She Coming for Savannah Guthrie"s Job?
According to various new reports, Megyn Kelly is picking up NBC employees one by one.
In a manner of speaking, that is.
The former Fox News anchor switched networks to kick off 2017, announcing a few weeks ago that she will debut on NBC later this year with her own program and also with many contributions to the company’s political coverage.
Since then, talk has switched to just when Kelly will premiere – and, more urgently, in what timeslot?
And while executives are yet to confirm the chatter, numerous outlets have claimed in the last couple weeks that Kelly’s presence on NBC will disrupt The Today Show in significant fashion.
She will either be given the 9am EST timeslot or the 10am EST timeslot, with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb either staying put or moving up an hour, depending on Kelly’s final destination.
In either of these scenarios, however, the victims will be Al Roker and Tamron Hall, who sources have said will no longer host their own 60 minutes of Today.
In response to the writing being on her occupational wall, Hall left NBC this week.
Clearly angry over how Kelly’s hiring will affect her future with the network, Hall chose not to sign a new contract, despite the fact that she does not have a new job lined up.
And now The New York Post is speculating that Savannah Guthrie will be the next Today anchor whose future becomes murky as a result of Kelly coming on board.
Multiple insiders tell Page Six that Kelly is likely to take the lead role on the NBC morning show alongside Matt Lauer when she starts in September.
What would this mean for Guthrie, who recently signed a new long-term deal with Toda?
She may be bumped to another role or possibly take over Hall’s 9 a.m. slot.
“NBC is not paying Megyn $ 12 to $ 15 million a year to be on at 9 a.m. The word is that Savannah could take the 9 a.m. slot and Megyn will go right in at 7 a.m.,” a source tells the newspaper, adding:
“There’s no way Megyn would have signed with NBC unless she was promised a big role down the line.”
Guthrie is currently on maternity leave.
She has not commented on this rumor or on Kelly being part of NBC in general.
Kelly, meanwhile, said goodbye to Fox News viewers on January 4.
“This was a tough decision for me because I love this show, our staff, my crew, our colleagues here at Fox and you, all of you,” Kelly says in the clip above.
But the reporter says she hopes those with whom she made a “connection” over the years will follow her to NBC, in whatever capacity she will appear on the network.
“If you’re Savannah, you’re looking over your shoulder every minute,” Page Six writes, explaining:
“The first time Savannah is out, Megyn will fill in, sitting next to Matt Lauer and NBC will go to great lengths to capitalize on it. It doesn’t make sense to pay Megyn that kind of money unless she’s on at 7 a.m.”
Before long-time viewers and Guthrie fans start an angry letter-writing campaign, however, NBC executives insist they will NOT be swapping out Guthrie for Kelly.
“Let me say this for the last time and as clearly as possible: This is never ever going to happen,” Noah Oppenheim, Senior Vice President of Today, tells the Post.
And Kelly’s rep has also chimed in on the rumor.
“This is unequivocally false,” he says.
Even so, tension is running high behind the scenes at Today once again.
Hall departed the series on Wednesday without an on-air farewell after turning down millions of dollars to stick around.
On Thursday she cleaned out her closet and shared a video of herself packing up her work clothes to donate to Housing Works.
“Thank y’all for all the love and support,” she wrote.

Savannah Chrisley and Blaire Hanks: It"s Over!
First, she suffered a broken back.
Now, Savannah Chrisley has suffered something even more painful:
A broken heart.
The reality star was involved in a very serious car accident just over a week ago fracturing multiple bones in her vertebrae after she slammed into a guardrail.
And she’ll now be recovering from those injuries on her own… because Chrisley is no longer dating Blaire Hanks, her boyfriend of two years.
The USA Network star revealed this sad piece of news to fans during a Facebook Live chat yesterday.
“All of you guys are so invested in my family and our lives and I feel like when we signed up for the show, we gave you a promise to show you our lives and to be as honest as we can about it and that’s just what I’m trying to do now,” Savannah said, clearly emotional.
Then she “cut to the point” and said:
“Blaire and I are no longer dating.”
Chrisley did not specify that Hanks pulled the romantic plug on this relationship.
But the way she announced the news certainly made it seem as if she’s the victim.
“It hurts,” she admitted. “It does because for me he was that definition of just my first true love and I’m trying to stay strong y’all.”
Those who watch Chrisley Knows Best online have witnessed the couple’s romantic journey over the course of a few seasons.
While Savannah freely admits things weren’t always perfect, she only had positive things to say about the memories she created with Hanks.
And, even with her soul feeling crushed, she didn’t insult her ex in any way on Facebook.
“I hope that you will please do me a favor and don’t send negative vibes to him,” she even asked of her supporters, adding:
“He doesn’t deserve that. We are young. We had our young love. It wasn’t my fault. It wasn’t his fault. There were faults on both sides.”
What an impressive and mature way to look at things.
Chrisley likely does have a new perspective on things these days.
She nearly died in this month’s car crash.
In response, Savannah posted a photo montage on Instagram that included a picture of herself in the hospital… along with a photo of her destroyed vehicle and a quote that read as follows:
“The only way God can show us He’s in control is to put us in situation we can’t control.”
She then wrote:
“I can truly say that I now FULLY understand the meaning of this quote.
“The past couple of days have been some of the toughest days for me. And I truly think that God has made them so difficult because I began straying away from Him and His word.”
Following such a frightening experience, it makes sense that Savannah would be able to process her break-up as well as she has.
At least she’s alive to be dumped, right?
Savannah said she remembers “going in and out of consciousness screaming for help” while cars sped by and she lay on the street, only for a stranger to come to her aid.
“It felt like I had been laying there for at least twenty minutes begging for help,” she wrote.
“And then a man stopped and ran over to me and got the police my way…so thank you to the amazing man that stopped and helped me as everyone else was passing.
“I have no idea who you are but thank you…I could never repay you for your act of kindness.”

Savannah Chrisley Shares Car Crash Details: A Stranger Saved My Life!
Earlier this week, we learned that Chrisley Knows Best star Savannah Chrisley was involved in a car accident that left her with a number of severe injuries.
Savannah is at the beginning of a long and difficult recovery process, having suffered several cracked vertebrae, along with a number of serious injuries.
Though she may be laid up as long as six weeks, Savannah has taken the time to address fans and ensure that’s she’s resting comfortably – and feeling more gratitude than pain:
Savannah called into an E! News broadcast last night withher father, Todd Chrisley, by her side.
“This whole experience has been very scary for me,” Savannah told fans via Skype.
“It’s put a lot of things into perspective and it’s made me realize things I need more focus on.”
Her father joked that he’d like viewers to “look out for the girl wearing the helmet and riding a tricycle down the highways going forward.”
In a moving blog post on the subject of her terrifying ordeal, Savannah had this to say:
“What I do remember is going in and out of consciousness screaming for help and cars just continued to pass. It felt like I had been laying there for at least twenty minutes begging for help,” Savannah shared.
“And then a man stopped and ran over to me and got the police my way…so thank you to the amazing man that stopped and helped me as everyone else was passing.
“I have no idea who you are but thank you…I could never repay you for your act of kindness.”
She went on to write that while the experience has been incredibly frightening, she still believes there’s some good to be gleaned from it:
“I truly believe that God has used this situation to open my eyes to what is truly important in life and to put my focus back on Him in order to live the right life and be unbelievably happy.
“So right now I just want to say thank you again…love you all.”
The Chrisley family says they’re tremendously thankful for the outpouring of support they’ve received.
Meanwhile, newly-released police report confirms that Chrisley was indeed not at fault for the crash, as some online trolls suggested yesterday:
“Vehicle one was traveling south bound on interstate 65 near Armory Drive,” officers wrote in the report.
“The driver of vehicle number one advised officers that her foot became tangled up in the floor mat and then behind the brake pedal in the process of trying to free her foot.”

Savannah Chrisley: Seriously Injured in Car Crash, Thankful to Be Alive
Savannah Chrisley is alive, but not so well.
The frequent beauty pageant contestant, best known for her role on her family’s USA reality series, Chrisley Knows Best, was seriously injured in a car accident on Monday.
She reportedly suffered a broken vertebrae in the crash and is still experiencing pain throughout her body.
The 19-year-old updated Instagram followers late Tuesday about her condition, expressing gratitude that she is even able to do so after what transpired.
Sharing a photo montage that includes a picture of herself in the hospital… a picture of her destroyed vehicle and a quote (The only way God can show us He’s in control is to put us in situation we can’t control.”), Chrisley wrote the following:
“I can truly say that I now FULLY understand the meaning of this quote.
“The past couple of days have been some of the toughest days for me. And I truly think that God has made them so difficult because I began straying away from Him and His word.”
As you can see in the following image, Chrisley’s car appears to be totaled.
There’s essentially no front left side remaining.
According to 2016 Miss Teen Tennesee competitor, the accident took place after her floor mat got stuck behind the pedals of her car.
She looked down quickly to move them, and that’s all it took for near-tragedy to strike.
“I realized that I was headed straight towards the guardrails….I tried to over correct but it didn’t help,” Savannah wrote.
“As soon as I hit the guardrail my airbags came out and because of the airbags and seatbelt the injuries weren’t near as bad as they could have been.”
A lot of the aftermath is fuzzy in Chrisley’s head, but she does recall “going in and out of consciousness screaming for help” while cars sped by.
“It felt like I had been laying there for at least twenty minutes begging for help. And then a man stopped and ran over to me and got the police my way…so thank you to the amazing man that stopped and helped me as everyone else was passing.
“I have no idea who you are but thank you…I could never repay you for your act of kindness.”
Chrisley Knows Best chronicles the life of millionaire Todd Chrisley, his wife and his two kids.
It wrapped up Season 4 in November.
Savannah concluded her Instagram post by addressing her critics and by giving thanks again to the Lord.
“Also…to all of you hurtful people that are saying that I deserved it and got what was coming for me…you need Jesus and I’ll help by praying for you,” she wrote, adding:
“And to all of those who are being supportive…I thank you very much. It means the world. The next month or so I will be recovering from a broken vertebrae which has caused numbness in my hands and fingers and pain all throughout my neck, back, and shoulders.
“While recovering physically I’m going to take time to recover spiritually and mentally as well. I want to be the best version of myself possible and that will happen.
“We all make mistakes…all that matters is how we learn and grow from them. I truly believe that God has used this situation to open my eyes to what is truly important in life and to put my focus back on Him in order to live the right life and be unbelievably happy.
“So right now I just want to say thank you again…love you all.”

Savannah Guthrie Welcomes Baby #2!
Savannah Guthrie just broke some rather personal news:
She’s a mother once again!
The Today Show anchor and husband Michael Feldman announced this morning that they welcomed a bay boy into the world early on Thursday.
His name is Charles Max Feldman. He weighed in at 9 lbs. 8 oz., he measured 21.5 inches… and he’s a total cutie patootie!
“We are so grateful. Blessings overflow. Along with tears of joy,” Guthrie Tweeted on Friday along with a multitude of photos showing the new parents, little “Charley” and even Matt Lauer holding the precious little tyke.
The excited reporter, who announced that she was expecting in June, has even updated her Twitter profile already. It now reads:
“Grateful mom to Vale and Charley,” referring both to her brand new addition and the couple’s two-year-old daughter.
And, just like two-plus years ago when she gave birth to her daughter, Guthrie opened her hospital room up to her famous co-workers for some cuddling and cooing.
Lauer announced on air today that “Mama and Dad are doing great,” noting that he has already paid the “cute little boy” a visit, as you can see below:
Today co-host Tamron Hall also shared a photo of the parents with adorable Charley, writing, “And here he is…”
Dylan Dreyer – the program’s meteorologist, who is pregnant with her first little one – chimed in with the following Tweet:
“So beyond happy for my pregnancy buddy @SavannahGuthrie & her family!! Radiant as ever welcoming their beautiful baby boy!! I want one!!!”
Guthrie confirmed her pregnancy on air in June, telling viewers at the time that she could no longer cover the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro due to the widespread impact of the mosquito-borne Zika virus.
Then, in September, the anchor let it slip on air that her second child would be a boy.
Despite her very pregnant state, Guthrie sat for a full Election Day of coverage on November 8, while making it clear to Fit Pregnancy and Baby that she would NOT be having a natural birth.
“Oh, 100 percent,” she replied when asked whether she’d be going for the epidural in labor.
“Is there anything about me that suggests I have the internal fortitude to withstand birth without a little bit of help? But my hat’s off to women who do.”

Savannah Guthrie: Pregnant with Baby #2!
Matt Lauer may be on his way out of The Today Show.
But the embattled anchor isn’t the only person related to this morning program who may soon be out.
Savannah Guthrie has announced that she will soon be squeezing another precious life out of her vagina!
That’s right, the beloved co-host is pregnant!!!!!
The 44-year-old reporter revealed this morning that she’s expecting her second child, confirming the exciting news live on air.
Two years ago this Augus, Guthrie welcomed her first child, daughter Vale Guthrie Feldman, with husband Michael Feldman.

“Mike and I are so excited. We’re expecting a baby in December!” Guthrie declared during the broadcast, after pulling a question from the desk’s bowl of questions.
The question read: “Are you pregnant?”
“The thought of getting to add to our family now is beyond every hope, dream and prayer I have ever had,” Guthrie said.
“It is not simply double the joy – it is joy multiplied infinitely.”
Upon hearing the answer, Hoda Kotb jumped in and joked around with Guthrie, saying she thought something was unusual when she noticed her colleague hadn’t drank any wine during a dinner.
“I’ve been fake drinking for some time now,” Guthrie admitted.
We’re guessing a few million women around the world can relate to her in that regard, right?
The only drawback to this pregnancy is that Guthrie won’t be joining the Today team for its live coverage of the summer Olympics in Rio in order to avoid contracting the Zika virus.
Oh well. It’s a small price to pay for bringing a child into this world.

Kanye West: Cheating On Kim With Savannah Winters???
A new report points fingers at Kanye West for straying from his marital bed.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, West is messing around with Savannah Winters, a model/dancer from Texas who performed on his tour.
One of Winters’ alleged “close” friends from high school notified Fameolous about the affair, claiming that West bought Winters a Mercedes for Christmas, and even invited her to his May 2014 wedding to Kim Kardashian.
“I got some major tea for you but I have to remain anonymous,” the source told the site.
“One of my friends from high school is messing around with Kanye West her name is Savannah Winters she was the star on his tour I suspected they were messing around when he invited her to his wedding but last night it’s was confirmed when I went thru her phone i saw messages in regards to the Mercedes he bought her for Christmas I’m digging for more information.
“And don’t believe the hype about Tory her boyfriend,” the source added. “That’s a choreographer he knows about her life ass [sic] a high end escort since she was a Houston Rockets cheerleader.
Winters hasn’t updated her social media profiles since 2014, and is reportedly terrified that this news will ruin her career, as well as her “image.”
