Jennifer Lawrence Talks Sex, Vomiting and Body Image

Jennifer Lawrence covers the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar, opening up to the magazine about a number of very personal topics.

Except her love life. Because the Oscar winner says that would be impossible.

Because she has no love life at the moment.

“Anything I say about boys gets picked up,” she tells the magazine, adding that she doesn’t have a type. “I don’t think so because patterns are the work of the devil.

“If I think about all of my ex-boyfriends, they are all so uncomparable.”

The two most famous men on Lawrence’s dating resume are Nicholas Hoult, who she dated for a couple years; and Chris Martin, who she surprisingly got it on with soon after he split from Gwyneth Paltrow.

But both are in the distant rearview mirror. As are practically all men, she joked in this cover story.

“Sex? Someone explain to me what it is,” she quipped.

Perhaps Lawrence is single these days because she labels herself a “social disappointment” and then gives some examples why.

“I don’t really stay out late. I’m kind of a bummer. I’m a nana.

“It’s hard to get me out, and when I do go out I don’t really stay out late. If I do stay out late and I’m partying hard, I will throw up. I don’t have the tolerance to black out; I just start puking.”

Lawrence even told a story about how Emma Stone once held her hair back during a vomiting incident that took place the night of an Adele concert in Los Angeles.

The very generous actress did get serious for a moment, however.

She says she wants to help the public accept a different kind of body type; she wants everyone to realize that skinny does not equate to perfect.

“I would like us to make a new normal-body type,” Lawrence explains.

“Everybody says, ‘We love that there is somebody with a normal body!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t feel like I have a normal body.’ I do Pilates every day. I eat, but I work out a lot more than a normal person.

“I think we’ve gotten so used to underweight that when you are a normal weight it’s like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s curvy.’ Which is crazy. The bare minimum, just for me, would be to up the ante. At least so I don’t feel like the fattest one.”

On tap professionally, Lawrence will reprise her role as Mystique in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, starring opposite Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.

The movie hits theaters on May 27.

Scandal Season 5 Episode 17 Recap: A Homicidal Heroine

Note to selves: Do not cross Olivia Pope.

EVER.

On Scandal Season 5 Episode 17, Olivia was faced with a former foe, as Andrew Nichols returned with a request to help publish a book that would pain him as an American hero.

Yes, the same Andrew Nichols who used to sleep with Mellie and who organized the kidnapping of Olivia on Scandal Season 4.

Moreover, Nicholas had the gall to agree to a tell-all interview (or tell mostly all, he clearly did not plan on mentioning a few items) with none other than Fitz’s new lover, Lillian Forrester.

Following numerous attempts to keep a wheelchair-bound Nicholas quiet (he was suffering from the effect sot that Huck-induced stroke), Olivia went off on her former foe. And we mean it.

She. Went. OFF.

Olivia beat Nichols to death with a metal chair in the White House bunker.

She was later consoled Fitz, though she remained in a zombie-like state when she ended up on her father’s doorstep to close the hour.

Prior to this conclusion, Olivia was peeved that Abby cut a deal with Nichols when it came to only telling Lillian about his affair with Mellie, avoiding the whole assassination attempt thing.

So, with her White House pass also revoked, a blood-spattered Olivia look at Abby at one point and said simple “Never cross me again.”

Who’s the monster now, huh?

Elsewhere, Frankie discovered that Tom is sleeping with Cyrus and Marcus remained angry over being kept in the dark about it.

But whatever.

You need to go watch Scandal online because OLIVIA POPE KILLED SOMEONE.

American Idol Results: And the FINAL Winner Is...

The final piece of confetti has dropped.

The final tears have fallen from Jennifer Lopez’s eyes. And Ryan Seacrest has signed off for the final time.

Indeed, following 15 seasons of highs and lows… missed notes and perfect notes… judges who flirted and judges who nearly came to blows… American Idol signed off for good on Thursday night.

The two-plus hour event included a return from familiar faces such as Randy Jackson and Kelly Clarkson, the latter of whom sang a medley of her greatest hits.

There was also a David Bowie tribute, appearances by Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia and even President Obama recorded a message to be played over video.

But there was last piece of business to conduct prior to saying goodbye: selecting a winner!

Would it be Trent Harmon, the soulful 25-year old from Armory, Mississippi?

Or would it be La’Porsha Renae, the 22-year old who also hails from Mississippi and whose emotion pours through with every performance?

And the champion is…

… TRENT HARMON!

“I worked so hard. I know that I had a God-given ability, but I didn’t want to take it for granted,” Harmon said through years to conclude the show. “I wanted to work so hard, and [Renae] pushed me to do it.”

So there you have it.

What do you think, fans? Who SHOULD have won the final season of American Idol?

Melissa McCarthy Has a Message for Body Shamers

Melissa McCarthy recently showed off a 50-pound weight loss, but truth be told, she doesn’t really want to talk about it.

“If that is the most interesting thing about me, I need to go have a lavender farm in Minnesota and give this up,” she told Refinery29.

“There are so many more intriguing things about women than their butt or their this or their that. It can’t be the first question every time, or a question at all.”

Regrettably, women today are still being scrutinized for their weight, and today, the actress took to Instagram to vent her frustration.

She posted an image of a sign stuck to a mirror that reads, “WARNING: Reflections in this mirror may be distorted by socially constructed ideas of ‘beauty."”

Melissa McCarthy

Well said.

In the caption, she included her own poignant message:

“We have to stop categorizing and judging women based on their bodies. We are teaching young girls to strive for unattainable perfection instead of feeling healthy and happy in their own skin. ‘Imagine we are linked not ranked.’ Gloria Steinem”

Looks like she’s ready to start a conversation, or more likely, end the one that’s been going on for far too long.

The star is tired of women being valued solely for their bodies when they have so much more to offer.

“We’re always being ranked and when we come together, you know, women are amazing together,” she said in a recent interview.

“Women are friends. Women are not really competing with each other. I think everyone wants to make it seem that way with who wore it better, whose butt is better, whose glasses are crazier. I’ve never had any of those conversations in my life.”

For the record, we are fans of everything Melissa has to offer, whether she’s cracking us up in film and TV, designing a fashion line or demonstrating her newfound skill: straight up killing it in a lip sync battle.
