Teenager Attends Special Prom Ahead of Assisted Suicide

Jerika Bolen is a 14-year old girl who is braver than we"ll ever be.

A resident of Wisconsin, Bolen suffers from spinal muscular atrophy. This is a disease that has basically left her immobile after damaging the muscles all around her body.

The condition does not have a cure.

In pain and unable to do anything on her own, Bolen has decided to enter hospice care in August.

However, before she teams with physicians to take her own life, Bolen attended a prom thrown by her community in her honor on Friday.

According to The New York Daily News, Bolen showed up to the special event in a turquoise mermaid gown with “her usually purple hair dyed a similar shade.”

She was escorted in a stretch limo by local first responders.

Earlier this summer, Jerika told her mother, Jen Bolen, that she was ready to die.

She explained to the The Post-Crescent over the weekend that she’s at peace with her decision, but is “heartbroken” for her close friends and family member who will grieve her passing.

"When I decided, I felt extremely happy and sad at the same time,” Bolen told to the local newspaper, adding:

“There were a lot of tears, but then I realized I’m going to be in a better place, and I’m not going to be in this terrible pain. I’ve been working on it and thinking about it for way longer than anyone else has.”

In June, Jerika and her mother made arrangements for hospice care in the area.

Toward the end of August, the ventilator she relies on for 12 hours a day to assist her breathing will be pulled and she’ll be placed on morphine.

The 14-year says she is nearly in constant chronic pain in her hips and back, along with getting nerve spasms and having very weak bones.

For now, though, Bolen is contest. Thanks to Friday"s prom.

“I’m super happy and I don’t have to think about anything bad at the moment,” she told The Post-Crescent of the celebration, where she later won the title of prom queen.

We can"t think of a more deserving individual.

“I try to be as happy as possible,” Jerika said yesterday.

“I know I can’t always be happy every day. I still wonder why God picked me to have this disease and I know I can never know the reason. Maybe because I’m strong, I guess.”

Lindsay Lohan: Egor Tarabasov Strangled Me, Tried to KILL ME!

We’ve already heard rumors – thanks to a rant by the troubled star herself – that Lindsay Lohan is pregnant by her fiance Egor Tarabasov.

Now she’s upping the ante, accusing her Russian partner of violence and attempted murder (seriously).

Neighbors were reportedly jolted awake early Saturday morning by Lohan screamed from her balcony that Tarabasov strangled her, and was trying to kill her.

One neighbor captured the exchange between Lohan and Tarabasov, which was obtained by The Sun.

In the video, Lohan is seen in the corner of her balcony yelling to anyone who will listen.

“He just strangled me. He almost killed me,” Lohan claimed.

‘’Please please please. He just strangled me.”

“He almost killed me. Everybody will know,” Lohan continued, stating her address loud and clear to anyone in the street, in the hopes that someone would call the police.

“Get out of my house.’’

This went on for some time, and the video shows Tarabasov trying to reason with Lohan.

“Do it. I dare you again. You’re f*****g crazy. You sick f**k. You need help. It’s my house get out of my house,” Lohan shouted.

“I’m done. I don’t love you anymore. You tried to kill me. You’re a f*****g psycho.  We are finished.’’

Tarabasov was inaudible, but Lohan was heard responding to his pleas.

“No Egor you’ve been strangling me constantly. You can’t strangle a woman constantly and beat the shit out of her and think it’s ok. Everybody saw you touch me.

“It’s filmed. Get out! Get out.” 

Authorities were called to the scene and had to break down the door of Lohan’s Knightsbridge home.  Once inside, the found that no one was home.

A spokeswoman confirmed:

“Police were called to an address in Knightsbridge, SW7 on Saturday, 23 July at 05:10 hours following a report of a woman in distress.”

“Officers attended and following concerns for the welfare of the occupants inside they forced entry into the address.

“There was no one inside but enquiries were made and the occupants were traced and found to be safe and well.”

This latest incident comes on the heels of Lohan blasting her fiance because he left her at home to party.

“I guess I was the same at 23…” Lohan wrote in a follow-up post.

“S—ty time-it changes at 26/27 @e2505t thanks for not coming home tonight.”

“Fame changes people.”

Rielle Hunter: I Still Love John Edwards So Much!!

Rielle Hunter had an affair with married Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards and gave birth to his love child eight years ago.

His wife, who had been battling cancer, is now deceased.

His political career, once incredibly promising, is dead in a different sense … but the scandal that shocked the political world lives on.

Hunter sat down with ABC News to discuss her new children’s book, Howie Do It, illustrated by Quinn – her daughter with John Edwards.

Seriously, that is actually thing that happened.

While Rielle Hunter has never been a stable individual, her desire to remain in the spotlight after all of this is baffling even by her standards.

As for her current relationship with Edwards?

“He’s family, I absolutely love him,” she said.

“I will always love him.”

“We get along great. We have the same goals, we want the best for Quinn,” the 52-year-old Hunter continued, smiling at their daughter.

Hunter said she’s managed to get past the scandal that Edwards covered up with the help of Andrew Young, then his trusted associate.

“When you make a mistake you have to take a responsibility for it, say you’re sorry and move on,” she said in the interview.

She"s never truly done that in the eyes of many observers, but trying to apply logic to Rielle Hunter is neither here nor there.

Nowadays, Quinn sees her father “as often as possible,” and has learned from her mother that “it’s okay to make mistakes.”

Mistakes like forgetting to make your bed, or breaking up a man"s marriage to his terminally ill wife while he"s running for U.S. president?

Errors in judgment like forgetting to turn the heat down at night, or engaging in a political cover-up that could"ve sabotaged a nation?

Just curious.

Jinger Duggar & Jeremy Vuolo: Secretly Engaged?!

It’s been over a month since we we learned that Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are courting.

While most relationships would just be on the verge of becoming serious at that point, Jinger and Jeremy are working on Duggar time, which means they’ve been picking out baby names for weeks now.

Now, as the Josiah Duggar-Marjorie Jackson breakup taught us, not every Duggar courtship results in marriage and 19 children.

But for the most part, once the courting process has begun, the check is in the mail in terns if engagement, marriage, and compulsive procreation.

Despite some bumps along the way (including the publication of Vuolo’s criminal record), Jinger and Jeremy seem to be progressing at the expected pace.

Now, a new photo from the family’s official Facebook page has many wondering if Jeremy has already out a ring on it:

At first glance, it may look like nothing is out of the ordinary with the pic above.

But take a look at Jinger’s hands.

It’s not just that they’re out of view – they’re very conspicuously out of view.

Frankly, it looks like she decided to hide them under the table just as the photo was being snapped.

Fans have taken notice of Jinger’s awkward hand placement and concluded that she must be concealing an engagement ring.

Is she really secretly sporting a rock from her former pro soccer player beau?

We can’t say for sure, but if they’re not picking out dates already, you can bet that Jinger and Jeremy will be in the very near future.
